Chapter 4 Saving Lillie

Ash slips out of bed, his body still sore but determined. He quickly puts on a shirt, the fabric feeling foreign on his skin after days of being bedridden. The tension in the air is palpable as he steps out of the room, following Delia and the rest of the Ketchum family down the dimly lit corridor. The walls are lined with faded paintings and old banners, remnants of a time long past, yet carrying the weight of history that Ash is only beginning to understand.

They arrive at the meeting room, a large space with a round table at its center. As Ash enters, all eyes in the room turn to him. The room is filled with people, each wearing expressions of anticipation and excitement. Ash can feel the pressure mounting; these people see him as their savior, the one who will lead them out of darkness. His heart races, and he takes a deep breath, trying to steady himself.

Delia steps forward, her voice calm yet commanding as she introduces the members of the team. "These are the ones who have been fighting alongside your father, Ash. They've been waiting for this moment—for you."

Ash nods, his gaze sweeping across the faces in the room. He recognizes some, others are strangers, but all of them share the same look of hope and expectation. It's overwhelming, and for a moment, Ash isn't sure if he's ready for this responsibility. But he knows he has no choice.

After the introductions, Ash gathers his thoughts and steps forward. "What's the situation in the United Region?" His voice is steady, but the weight of the question hangs in the air, making everyone in the room tense.

One of the members, Jekyll, steps forward, clearing his throat as he begins to speak. "The United Region, Ash, was formed by your ancestors, the Ketchum Family. With the blessing of Arceus, they established the region as a place of unity and prosperity. The Ketchum Family was chosen by Arceus himself to lead, and under their guidance, the region flourished."

The room remains silent, every word Jekyll utters seems to carry the weight of centuries. Ash listens intently, the enormity of his heritage starting to settle in.

Blade Berlitz, another member, picks up where Jekyll leaves off. "With Arceus' permission, Adam Ketchum, your ancestor and the first emperor of the United Region, sought out 18 wise families to help govern the land. These families were entrusted with the responsibility of managing different parts of the region, thus establishing the 18 kingdoms. It was a time of peace and collaboration, each kingdom working together for the greater good."

Ash nods, trying to visualize the grandeur of the United Region as it once was.

Paris, a third member, steps forward, her voice tinged with sadness. "But that harmony didn't last. About a thousand years ago, the kingdoms, blinded by their greed and ambition, began to fear the Emperor's power. They worried that their rule could be taken away at any moment. In their desperation, they conspired against the Ketchum Family. In cold blood, they betrayed and murdered the Emperor, plunging the region into chaos."

The room grows heavier with the weight of the past. Paris continues, "In the aftermath, Team Alpha was formed by those who remained loyal to your family. They helped the Ketchum Family escape, ensuring the bloodline would continue. But it was during this dark time that the prophecy was made—the prophecy that foretold the return of the Devil Prince who would rise to bring justice to the United Region."

Ash clenches his fists, feeling the burden of history on his shoulders. This is the legacy he has inherited, and now it's his turn to fulfill the prophecy.

Ash's fists tremble with anger, his voice sharp as he spits out, "Those ungrateful bastards... I also heard from my sister Golly that people under those 18 families are suffering. Is that also true?"

Pauline steps forward, her expression somber. "Yes, Ash. The people are suffering immensely. The 18 families have turned the United Region into a land of despair. They rule with iron fists, exploiting the people for their gain. The region is completely isolated from the outside world, cut off from any hope of aid or escape. The families have grown more corrupt and tyrannical over time, caring only for their power and wealth, while the common people live in constant fear and misery."

Isabelle, another member, adds with a firm tone, "Ash, you're the only one who can save them. The prophecy isn't just a story—it's their only hope. They believe in you, and they need you to bring justice to the United Region."

Ash takes a deep breath, his resolve hardening. "I will save them," he declares, his voice filled with determination. "Arceus has given me the assistance of all the Legendary Pokémon, Mythical Pokémon, Ultra Beasts, and Paradox Pokémon. With their help, we will bring down those tyrants and free the people from their suffering."

The room erupts in excitement, the members of Team Alpha exchanging looks of hope and anticipation. For the first time in a long while, they can see the light at the end of the tunnel. Ash can feel the weight of their expectations, but instead of feeling overwhelmed, he feels empowered. This is his fight now, and he won't back down.

Just as the excitement in the room reaches its peak, Ash suddenly stiffens, a strange sensation washing over him. Without a word, he bolts out of the room, leaving everyone stunned. Mark, caught off guard, shouts after him, "Ash! Where are you going?"

But Ash is already gone, the door swinging shut behind him.

A tense silence fills the room as everyone exchanges worried glances. The excitement from moments ago is replaced with concern. "What's happening? Why did he just run off like that?" someone murmurs.

Delia, her expression tight, steps forward. "He left without any protection," she says, her voice steady but laced with worry. Turning to Ash's siblings, she commands, "Go after him. Make sure he's safe."

Without hesitation, the five of them rush out, their faces set with determination. The room is left in uneasy silence as they disappear down the corridor.

Dave, one of the senior members of Team Alpha, looks at Delia with concern. "Do you know what's happening, Delia?" he asks cautiously.

Delia closes her eyes, taking a deep breath. She understands what is happening to Ash, but the weight of that knowledge hangs heavily on her. "Yes," she finally says, her voice soft but resolute. "I do."

At the same time, deep within a dense forest, a girl with blonde hair is running as fast as her legs can carry her. Fear pulses through her veins with every step she takes. Her breath comes in ragged gasps, and the branches of trees whip against her face, but she doesn't dare slow down. She knows that if she stops, it's all over.

The girl is Lillie Aether, abducted from the Alola Region and thrust into a nightmare she never imagined. She had managed to escape her captors, but freedom is slipping through her fingers as she hears the pounding footsteps behind her. Glancing back, her heart sinks as she sees two figures chasing her, their intent clear.

In her panic, Lillie doesn't notice the root protruding from the ground. Her foot catches on it, and she stumbles, crashing hard onto the forest floor. Her hands are still tied, making it impossible to break her fall or push herself back up. She struggles, her body trembling with fear and exhaustion, but she can't get up.

The soldiers close in, their expressions dark and determined. One of them sneers, "You're not going anywhere, girl. You're coming back with us. We need more slaves."

Lillie's eyes widen in terror as she desperately tries to wriggle free, but it's no use. The soldiers are upon her, and all hope seems lost.

Lillie closes her eyes, her body trembling as she resigns herself to her fate. In her final moments of despair, a single thought fills her mind—Ash. The person who brought light into her life, who helped her overcome her fears and touched her heart. Memories flood her mind: Ash guiding her hand to touch her first Pokémon, risking everything to go to Ultra Space to save her mother, and later, finding her other self in the Hoenn Region and merging with her. The images blur together as the reality of her situation crashes down on her—being abducted, lost, and now, on the verge of losing everything.

But just as her hope fades, she hears a familiar voice cutting through the darkness, "Greninja, Night Slash! Pikachu, Iron Tail!"

Her eyes snap open, disbelief washing over her. Before her, the two soldiers fall to the ground, lifeless, as Pikachu and Greninja stand tall, their expressions fierce and protective.

"Pikachu?! Greninja?!" Lillie gasps, her voice trembling as she tries to comprehend what she's seeing.

Before she can process it, she feels a warm embrace, strong arms wrapping around her. She looks up and finds herself face-to-face with the one person she never thought she'd see again. It's Ash. Tears well up in her eyes, and for a moment, the world around her fades away. She's safe, and Ash is here.

Ash tightens his embrace around Lillie, his voice soft but filled with concern. "Lillie... are you alright?"

Lillie nods, her breath catching in her throat, but before she can say a word, a rustling in the bushes catches their attention. More soldiers emerge from the shadows, their faces twisted with malice. One of them points at Ash, shouting, "It's the Devil Prince! That girl we abducted was in cahoots with him!"

"Devil Prince?" Lillie echoes, confusion clouding her mind as she glances up at Ash. But the look on his face makes her heart skip a beat. His eyes flare with a dangerous intensity she's never seen before.

Ash's voice is cold as he addresses the soldiers, "Did you guys say abducted? You brought her here... just to eliminate me?"

The soldiers hesitate, but their resolve doesn't waver. Ash turns back to Lillie, his expression softening for a moment. "Lillie, close your eyes," he instructs gently, but there's a steely edge to his voice. "Things are going to be nasty."

Lillie, trusting Ash completely, squeezes her eyes shut, knowing that whatever happens next, Ash will protect her. Ash's voice rings out with authority. "Pikachu, Greninja, continue the defense!" Pikachu's cheeks spark with electricity, and Greninja's blades of darkness materialize, ready to strike. The two Pokémon leap into action, defending Ash and Lillie with swift precision.

At the same moment, Mark and the others arrive on the scene. Without hesitation, they join the fray, their Pokémon and combat skills overwhelming the soldiers. One by one, the enemies fall, unable to withstand the coordinated assault from Ash's allies.

Lillie, her heart pounding, keeps her eyes shut as the sounds of battle rage around her. But the chaos soon quiets, replaced by the steady breathing of Ash and the others. Tentatively, she opens her eyes.

Ash is beside her in an instant, his hands working quickly to break the ropes that bind her. Once she's free, he doesn't hesitate. With a gentle but firm grip, Ash lifts Lillie into his arms, cradling her in a princess hug. Lillie's cheeks flush with warmth as she gazes up at Ash, her heart fluttering at the sight of him. He's her hero, the one who came to her rescue when all hope seemed lost.

As Ash carries her back toward the base, Lillie can't help but blush deeper, feeling safe and protected in his arms. Ash's determination and bravery shine through, and she realizes just how much he means to her.

When they arrive back at the base, Lillie finally opens her eyes, her surroundings familiar yet tinged with the tension of what just happened. Ash gently sets her down, concern etched on his face. "Did they do anything to you?" he asks, his voice soft but edged with worry.

Lillie looks at her hands, wincing slightly. "My hands... they're hurt," she admits, the pain throbbing now that the adrenaline is wearing off. She then looks up at Ash, confusion and concern in her eyes. "But, Ash... what are you doing here?"

Ash sighs, the weight of everything pressing down on him. "As those soldiers mentioned, I'm the Devil Prince," he begins, his voice steady. "I'm here to free the United Region from their tyranny. This region is suffering under the rule of the 18 kingdoms, and it's my responsibility to put an end to it."

Lillie's eyes widen in surprise at first, trying to process what she's just heard. Then, a chilling memory flashes in her mind—the two lifeless soldiers who had fallen at Ash's command. Her voice trembles as she asks, "Those soldiers... they were dead, weren't they?"

Ash frowns, the question cutting deep. He nods slowly, a shadow passing over his face. "Yes, they were. I've had to make necessary kills, Lillie. It's either them or me... or worse, you. I'm sorry if that scares you, if seeing a monster like me hurts you."

Lillie's heart aches at his words. She reaches out, taking his hand in hers, despite the pain. Shaking her head, she looks into his eyes with unwavering resolve. "No, Ash. You're not a monster. No matter what you've had to do or become, I will trust you. I know you're doing this because you have to, not because you want to."

As they sit together, Ash's gaze falls on something familiar—a blue ribbon tied neatly in Lillie's hair. His breath catches in his throat, and he freezes, his voice low and strained as he asks, "Where did you get that ribbon?"

Lillie blinks in confusion, not understanding at first. But then, realization dawns on her, and her eyes widen. Ash doesn't know the truth. Before she can speak, Ash's tone sharpens, laced with concern. "Lillie... what have you done to Serena?"

Lillie hesitates, knowing that what she's about to say will change everything. Taking a deep breath, she decides it's time to reveal the truth. "Ash... Serena and I... we're the same being."

Ash's expression shifts to one of confusion, unable to comprehend what she means. "What do you mean?"

Lillie looks down, gathering her thoughts before she explains. "After the Summer Camp, there was an accident. Both my mother and I were involved. To stay alive, we were forced to separate—into two different beings. One became Serena, and the other became Lillie. To avoid causing confusion, Serena stayed in Kalos, while I was sent to Alola. Gladion was sent to Alola to keep an eye on me."

Ash listens, the weight of her words sinking in. The shock is clear on his face, struggling to reconcile the fact that Lillie and Serena are the same person, yet two distinct individuals.

Lillie looks up at Ash, her voice trembling slightly as she asks, "Do you... do you find it weird?"

Ash's expression softens, his eyes filled with warmth and understanding. He gently shakes his head. "It doesn't matter who you are, Lillie... or Serena. You're special to me. That's all that matters."

Lillie feels a rush of emotion, her heart swelling at his words. A deep blush spreads across her cheeks, and when she looks up, she sees that Ash is blushing too. The moment is tender, filled with unspoken feelings as they both sit there, the world around them fading away, leaving just the two of them together.

Here is the new chapter and Lillie finally shows up and also reveals that she is also Serena. I hope you like it.
