Wave – Meghan Trainor feat. Mike Sabath

I want what I can't have

Still holding on to hope

Drowning in my tears

This love's a sinking boat

Oh oh oh oh

Once my hands have reached the shore

You pull me back in

And I shouldn't beg for more, but I

Don't want it to end

Just take me like a wave

Wave, wave, wave

Uh, uh, uh

Take me like a wave, pull me back and forth

Crash into my arms tell me I am yours

Take me like a wave

Wave, wave, wave

Head at the surface

I'll keep you afloat I'll keep you safe

Yeah, yeah

Right in the middle of heaven and hell

This world was made for us

I don't blame you at all

It was all my fault

I swear that I won't do the shit that I did before

It was clear to walk away

But I need you back with me (hey)

And I think it's all the same for you (yeah)

I just wanna kiss and dance

Cause I miss the way you dancing on me

Let me pull you back in yeah

Once my hands have reached the shore

You pull me back in

And I shouldn't beg for more, but I don't want it to end

Just take me like a wave

Wave, wave, wave

Uh, uh, uh

Take me like a wave, pull me back and forth

Crash into my arms tell me I am yours

Take me like a wave

Wave, wave, wave

Balls seemed to have taken on a new purpose for him these days. It was the only place he could get close to Penelope. To even see her since she rarely left her home. Unfortunately his actions with the balloon had provided him with the attention of many women, but not the one he wished for and was unable to stop thinking of.

"Indeed, Mr Bridgerton, wherever did you find such courage?" Penelope stepped into his line of vision behind the young lady blantedly flirting with him.

When he spoke, the others in the room seemed to fade away leaving just the two of them. "Well, I believe that um … courage is within us all. As long as we are honest with ourselves and about our feelings, it is possible to do anything." In truth, it hadn't taken courage at all. Penelope had been in danger and he had acted without thinking of anything but her.

Penelope nodded and walked over to Lord Debling. He couldn't watch her with another man when he wanted her for himself. None of the women surrounding him held any interest. "Um pardon me ladies."

He was so confused. Penelope was his friend and yet the thought of her married to another was crippling. With Antony out of town with Kate, he asked his mother's advice. Violet Bridgerton advised him without verbally confirming she knew which lady he had in mind. She gave him a lot to think about despite him trying to throw her off the trail by claiming to be speaking about Francesca.

When he spotted Penelope alone he headed for her. "Colin. Finally free from your admirers?" He was speechless. Her full lips begging to be kissed distracted him especially now he knew what it was like to kiss Penelope Featherington. "Are you well?" He had clearly been distracted too long.

"There is a question. I have been needing to ask you." Hell, he would drop to one knee in the middle of this ball if he had to. He was not above making a fool of himself if it were for her.

"Colin." She had to stop looking at him like that. He would happily drown in those sea blue eyes.

"Miss Featherington." Damn. He had waited too long and Lord Debling had returned. "I believe it is time for our dance." That's what he should have done: asked Penelope to dance.

"Of course, my Lord." But she looked as though she would have preferred to stay with him.

Lord Debling's gaze flickered between the two of them. "Mr Bridgerton." And then he led Penelope onto the dance floor. That was not how he had envisioned this going, but their kiss kept running through his mind and it left him rendered speechless. Something he rarely was around Penelope until recently.
