47. Chapter 46

Chapter 46: CatNap Vs LabRat: Wild Side

DogDay meanwhile was sleeping when he then slowly opened his eyes.

"Uhhhh… What happened?" He said as he opened his eyes fully to look around, "Wh-Where am I?"

DogDay then turned to a rat critter of some sort, going through something.

"RatedRat?" He asked,

"RatedRat?" The rat critter said in a higher pitched yet Masculine voice, "Never heard of that name."

The rat critter turned around with a crooked smile that scared DogDay.

"My name is LabRat!" The rat critter said in introduction, "And I see you've woken up from your slumber, DogDay!"

"How do you know my name?" DogDay wondered as he looked around more and noticed that he was tied to a chair and got paranoid, "And why am I tied to a chair?!"

"Oh, ha ha ha! Don't you worry, DogDay! This is only an experiment on behalf of The Hour Of Joy!"

"The hour of what now?!"

"You'll find out!"

LabRat then raised up a giant syringe. DogDay got scared.

"N-No! Please!" DogDay shouted, "I didn't do anything to you!"

"Doesn't matter!" LabRat shouted, "You're perfect after what that chicken did to you!"

"Wh-Who? Kickin?"

"Yes, it's all coming together, isn't it? Soon, you'll return the favor to him!"

The door leading to the laboratory LabRat was in was kicked down as CatNap came in. DogDay gasped as he saw him.

"CatNap!" DogDay shouted with glee,

"Let. Him. Go." CatNap said to LabRat with anger in his eyes,

LabRat smirked.

"Look at what the cat dragged in." He said, "Himself!"

"Enough fooling around!" CatNap shouted, "Let my friend go, now!"

LabRat chuckled.

"You want your friend back?" He said, "Well, you're gonna have to win that, in a duel!"

"A duel?" CatNap said as he showed his Duel Disk and, "Fine. I've dealt with your jester friend back there, so if it's the only way to win my friend back, then I will easily take you down!"

LabRat chuckled a bit.

"Good!" He said as he went to his drawers, "Because if you were supposed to free your friend while I'm not looking, then I have this!"

LabRat then pressed a button on his switch as the rope surrounding DogDay created an electrical field, outside of him.

"What the heck?" DogDay said, shocked,

"Oh, clever bastard." CatNap said, "Then I'll win this duel to deactivate what you did and free DogDay to head home!"

"We'll see what happens!"

LabRat then got out his Duel Disk. Surprisingly, it was very similar to Lenny's Duel Disk.

"Odd…" CatNap said, "You have the same Duel Disk as that lemur, huh?"

"Of course!" LabRat replied, "We're a team, after all!"

"Right…"

CatNap and LabRat then took their places as they started up their Duel Disks and shouted, "Duel!" together to start the duel.

Turn 1.

CatNap: 4000

LabRat: 4000

"Tell me, CatNap, have you ever lost a duel before?" LabRat asked,

"A few." CatNap replied, "I've recently lost to a friend of mine, but it wasn't for anything major."

"Well, have you ever lost to a Shadow Game before?"

"No, but this is my 2nd time not losing to these games!"

"Come on, CatNap!" DogDay shouted, "Make him pay!"

LabRat was first.

"I'll go first." He said as he looked at his hand of cards and played a monster, "And I'll start by Normal Summoning Myutant ST-46 in Attack Position!"

Myutant ST-46 was Normal Summoned in Attack Position with 0 ATK Points.

"Myutants?' CatNap wondered, "This got odd…"

"That monster with 0 ATK Points looks freaky…" DogDay said,

LabRat smiled.

"And when Myutant ST-46 is Normal Summoned, I can add a Myutant Spell or Trap from my Deck to my Hand." He said as he adds a Field Spell known as, Myutant Evolution Lab from his Deck to his hand, "And then I activate ST-46's effect! By tributing the monster alongside a card from my hand or face-up on my field, I can Special Summon one of three specific Myutant monsters from my hand or deck, based on the card banished!"

"Three specific Myutant monsters, huh?" CatNap wondered, "Wonder which one is he gonna bring out?"

LabRat then tributed Myutant ST-46 and banished Myutant Evolution Lab from his hand.

"And since the card I banished was a Spell, I can Special Summon this monster from my Deck!" He said as he did so, "Myutant Mist!"

Myutant Mist was Special Summoned in Attack Position with 2700 ATK Points.

"And you cannot target Myutant Mist with any Spell effects!" LabRat said as he then set a card in the Spell/Trap Zone, "So do your worst, because I'm setting this card before ending my turn."

"Alright, here I go!" CatNap said as he drew to start Turn 2, "Hm, this will do."

CatNap then played a familiar Spell Card he just drew.

"I activate Branded Fusion!" He said,

"Oh! A Fusion Spell, not bad on your first turn!" LabRat said,

"With this, I'm Fusion Summoning a Fusion Monster that mentions Fallen Of Albaz as material, so I'm sending these two monsters from my Deck to the Graveyard as materials!"

CatNap then sends Fallen Of Albaz and Albion The Shrouded Dragon from his Deck to the Graveyard as Fusion Materials.

"And Albion The Shrouded Dragon will be counted as a Fusion Material with 2500 or more ATK Points!" CatNap said as he started a chant, "From the ashes, be reborn into a dragon full of raging fire! Fusion Summon!"

A new dragon was Fusion Summoned from the ashes.

"Turn up the heat, Level 8, Titaniklad The Ash Dragon!" CatNap shouted,

Level 8 Titaniklad The Ash Dragon was Fusion Summoned in Attack Position with 2500 ATK Points.

"And here's an effect that sets him running!" CatNap said, "Titaniklad gains ATK Points equal to the combined original Levels of the monster used for his Fusion Summon. Since Albaz was Level 4 and Albion The Shrouded Dragon was Level 8, Titaniklad gains 1200 ATK Points!"

Titaniklad's ATK Points were raised to 3700.

"Awesome!" DogDay said, "He has enough to take down Myutant Mist!"

LabRat smirked.

"Go ahead, attack my monster, if you dare." He said,

"Fine!" CatNap said with a twitching eye, "Battle!"

The Battle Phase started.

"Titaniklad, attack Myutant Mist!" CatNap shouted, "Titanic Ash Fire!"

Titaniklad then shoots out its flames at Myutant Mist, but LabRat smirked.

"I caught ya!" He said, "I activate a Trap Card known as Destructive Daruma Karma Cannon!"

The Trap Card, Destructive Daruma Karma Cannon was activated.

"With this, I can change as many face-up monsters on the field as possible to face-down Defense Position!" LabRat said, "So my Myutant Mist and your Titaniklad The Ash Dragon are now set!"

Myutant Mist and Titaniklad The Ash Dragon were then changed to face-down Defense Position.

"Well, what a waste." CatNap said as he set a card in the Spell/Trap Zone, "I set a card and I'll end my turn."

"Very well then!" LabRat said as he draws to start Turn 3,

LabRat then looked at the card he drew and chuckled menacingly.

"Oh, what a perfect card…" He said as he looked at CatNap, "Now, I will play the card I drew!"

"What's going on with him now?" CatNap wondered, almost annoyed,

"When I control a Myutant card, I can Special Summon this monster from my hand, Myutant Mutant!"

Myutant Mutant was Special Summoned in Defense Position with 0 DEF Points.

"Now for the fun part of Myutant Mutant, its effect!" LabRat shouted, "By tributing it, I can banish a card from my hand or Deck and then Special Summon another of the three specific monsters from my hand or Deck, based on the card banished!"

Myutant Mutant was tributed as LabRat went into his Deck and banished a monster from there, being Mind Master.

"And since the banished card was this time a monster, I can Special Summon this monster from my Deck!" LabRat shouted as he did so, "Behold, Myutant Beast!"

Myutant Beast was Special Summoned in Attack Position with 2400 ATK Points.

"And unfortunately, I must pay the price from Myutant Mutant…" LabRat said, "And that's, taking damage equal to the monster I just Special Summoned through its effect."

Myutant Mutant, from the Graveyard, then shocked LabRat, dealing 2400 points of damage to him, leaving him with 1600 Life Points left.

"Did he just…" DogDay said, shocked,

"Took damage for himself?" CatNap said, confused,

"Don't lower your guard, CatNap! He could be hiding something, despite taking damage from his own monster's effect!"

"You do have a point, DogDay."

LabRat collected himself from the damage he took from his own monster's effect.

"Ahem, sorry, that was very "over-climatic" of me." He said,

"That's not even a word." CatNap said,

"I know it's not, but anyways! Try your best to take down my Myutant Beast with your monster effects, because Myutant Beast is immune to the effects of your pesky monsters!"

"Cool."

"Now then, time to flip back Myutant Mist into Attack Position!"

Myutant Mist was set back into face-up Attack Position.

"Time for battle!" Lenny shouted, "Myutant Mist, attack his face-down Titaniklad!"

Myutant Mist then created four magical elements and turned them into a powerful attack at CatNap's Titaniklad, who was still in face-down Defense Position. When being flipped face-up with 2000 DEF Points, Myutant Mist destroyed Titaniklad.

"Uh-oh." DogDay said,

"Now, Myutant Beast will attack you directly, CatNap!" LabRat shouted as he reached his arm out, "Go, Myutant Beast, kill!"

Myutant Beast then roared and attacked CatNap directly, dealing 2400 points of damage to him, leaving him with 1600 Life Points left as well. CatNap was on one knee, weakened from the attack.

"No, CatNap!" DogDay shouted as he turned to LabRat, "You monster!"

"Heh, monster…" LabRat said, "That's what they all viewed me as. I think it's best if you keep your mouth shut and not speak up to me!"

LabRat then pulled out the same remote control and pressed another button on it, only this time, zapping DogDay all around him, damaging him.

"DogDay!" CatNap shouted as he saw what LabRat was doing to him,

LabRat then pushed the button again to stop the action. DogDay was shaking and breathing heavily from the small electrocution caused by LabRat.

"Now, leave yourself out of this!" He said to DogDay, "Because this duel is about halfway down!"

"DogDay's right." CatNap said, "You are a monster."

"Hmm?"

LabRat then turned to CatNap who was slowly getting back up to his feet. CatNap was breathing heavily, but also in an angry and wild mood.

"You can damage me all you want." He said, "But to inflict that same level of pain onto my best friend that I've known since childhood…"

CatNap then looked up as his face wasn't the same as his normal moody look.

"You crossed the line!" He shouted, "You'll pay big time, you big waste of life!"

LabRat smirked.

"Looks like I'm slowly unleashing your wild side…" He said, "Ok, CatNap, good luck trying to take me down with your anger."

LabRat then sets a card in his Spell and Trap Zone.

"I'll set this card and pass the turn to you." He said,

CatNap's hand to the top card of his Deck was shaking as he then took a deep breath and drew to start Turn 4.

Turn 4.

CatNap: 1600

LabRat: 1600

CatNap then puts the card he drew aside to activate another card.

"I activate the Spell Card, Branded In White!" He shouted, "This lets me Fusion Summon a monster by using monsters from my hand or field as materials, including a Dragon monster!"

"Oh, he's using one of Lenny's cards." LabRat said,

"But I'm not doing that! Instead, I'm gonna banish monsters from my Graveyard alongside Fallen Of Albaz mentioned in the Fusion Monster as materials!"

"What?!"

DogDay was breathing heavily as he looked at CatNap.

"Come on, CatNap!" He shouted, "Get me out of here!"

"I banish Fallen Of Albaz and Titaniklad The Ash Dragon as Fusion Materials!" CatNap shouted,

Fallen Of Albaz and Titaniklad The Ash Dragon were then banished through Branded In White's effect as Fusion Materials for another Fusion Summon.

"Glow in red flames from the abyss to strike back what's your's!" CatNap chanted, "Fusion Summon!"

CatNap then brings out another Fusion monster, but familiar this time.

"Rise back up from the abyss, Level 8, Alba-Lenatus The Abyss Dragon!" CatNap shouted,

Alba-Lenatus The Abyss Dragon was Fusion Summoned in Attack Position with 2500 ATK Points.

"Now for Battle!" CatNap shouted as the Battle Phase started again, "Alba-Lenatus, attack Myutant Beast! Abyssal Flames!"

Alba-Lenatus then raises its fist up to ignite and strikes down at Myutant Beast, dealing 100 points of damage to LabRat, shortly draining his Life Points to just 1500.

"Not bad…" LabRat said with a smile, "Keep going, let me see your rage."

"You piss me off." CatNap said as he sighed, "But I don't care, I'm gonna end my turn and show you what else I got. But first."

CatNap sets another card.

"I set this card face-down and now my turn is done." He said,

"Very well, I draw!" LabRat shouted as he drew to start Turn 5,

Turn 5.

CatNap: 1600

LabRat: 1500

"I'll play Pot Of Greed!" LabRat said as he did so, "This let me draw 2 cards from my Deck. Simple as that."

LabRat draws 2 through Pot Of Greed's effect. He looked at the two cards he drew and smiled.

"One of them is perfect." He said as he then played one of the cards, "I summon Myutant M-05 in Attack Position!"

Myutant M-05 was Normal Summoned in Attack Position with 0 ATK Points.

"And when M-05 is Normal Summoned, I can add a Myutant monster from my Deck to my Hand!" LabRat said as he did so, "Now for Myutant M-05's effect! By tributing it, I can once again, banish 1 card from my hand or face-up on my field to Special Summon yet another of my theee Myutant monster from my hand or Deck, based on the banished card!"

Tributing Myutant M-05, LabRat banished a Trap Card this time known as, Myutant Expansion.

"Now I have banished a Trap Card, which lets me Special Summon this monster from my hand searched off of M-05!" LabRat shouted as he Special Summoned that monster, "This time, it's Myutant Arsenal!"

Myutant Arsenal was Special Summoned in Attack Position with 3000 ATK Points.

"3000 ATK Points?!" DogDay shouted,

"That's right!" LabRat shouted, "And this one cannot be targeted with Trap effects!"

"So he's got two monsters that can't be targeted with Spell or Trap Effects…" CatNap said, annoyed, "Fantastic…"

"Now, for battle!"

The Battle Phase started again.

"Myutant Arsenal, attack Alba-Lenatus!" LabRat shouted,

Myutant Arsenal then shoots out a big laser at Alba-Lenatus, destroying it and dealing 500 points of damage to CatNap, draining his Life Points down to 1100.

"It's over!" LabRat shouted,

"No, it's not!" CatNap shouted, "I activate one of my face-down cards, the Trap Card, Screams Of The Branded!"

Screams Of The Branded was activated.

"When a Fusion Monster is sent to the Graveyard this turn, I can Special Summon a 1 of them either banished or in my Graveyard, so I'm bringing back Titaniklad The Ash Dragon that was just banished!"

Titaniklad The Ash Dragon was Special Summoned back on the field in Defense Position with 2000 DEF Points.

"Doesn't matter, because I'm still gonna destroy it!" LabRat shouted, "With Myutant Mist, again!"

Myutant Mist then shoots out its magic at Titaniklad again, destroying it and sending it to the Graveyard. The aftermath of the attack snapped something in CatNap. He was grinning hard and was laughing like a madman.

"CatNap?" DogDay said, worried,

"There it is…" LabRat said with a big evil smile,

CatNap waved his hair covering one of his eyes.

"You know something?" He said, "You wanna know something?"

"What?" LabRat wondered,

"Now that I think about it, it doesn't matter if I win or lose, I just wanna beat the ever living hell of you for what you're doing to my friend. In fact, I don't even wanna bring my friend into this anymore. What's so good about a friend when I can just beat your ass myself?" CatNap said, "But NOOO! I have to deal with not only YOUR sorry ass, but the sorry asses of someone that beaten my friend up a while ago and someone that thinks this whole "apocalypse" of your's is some sort of FUCKING MUSICAL NUMBER!"

CatNap was seen losing his mind.

"Screw this, no, screw ALL OF THIS!" He shouted, "Hurry up and end your turn! Because I'm about to show you a side of me that you shouldn't have unleashed!"

LabRat chuckled.

"There it is!" He said as he set another card in his Spell and Trap Zone, "I end my turn! Hurry up and let me see your wild side!"

"FINE!" CatNap shouted, "And I don't need to activate any of my Fusion Dragon's effects! Because I'm gonna beat you, the CRUEL WAY!"

CatNap draws to start Turn 6. He looked at the card he drew and didn't change expressions as he looked at LabRat.

CatNap: 1100

LabRat: 1500

"CatNap! What are you doing?!" DogDay shouted, "What's gotten you to change all of a sudden?!"

"SHUT UP!" CatNap shouted, "THIS ISN'T ABOUT YOU ANYMORE! THIS IS ABOUT ME AND THIS MONSTER RIGHT HERE! SO SHUT THE HELL UP, DAMN IT!"

DogDay was surprised by the words CatNap had said to him as CatNap turned back from him.

"CatNap…" He said with tears in his eyes, "How could you say that? How could you… say that to someone that trusts you more than anyone for all these years?"

CatNap then clenched his teeth as he screamed his heart out. He then played a card before the card he drew.

"When you control more monsters than me, I Special Summon Incredible Ecclesia, The Virtuous from my hand!" He shouted,

Incredible Ecclesia, The Virtuous was Special Summoned in Attack Position with 1500 ATK Points. CatNap then forcefully played the card he drew.

"Now, I activate the Quick-Play Spell, SUPER POLYMERIZATION!" He shouted with rage,

LabRat laughed a bit.

"There it is!" He shouted, "Bring it on, CatNap! Use your wild side to try and beat me in this duel!"

CatNap then discarded Tri-Brigade Mercourier from his hand to the Graveyard for Super Polymerization's effect to resolve.

"Now, I'm using Incredible Ecclesia, The Virtuous and your Myutant Mist and Arsenal as Fusion Materials for this Fusion Summon!" He shouted,

A powerful Fusion Summon has occurred as Incredible Ecclesia, Myutant Mist and Myutant Arsenal were used as Fusion Materials.

"Be reborn from all the worries I've had into a new raging monster!" CatNap chanted, "FUSION SUMMON!"

A new monster emerges from the powerful Fusion Summon.

"GO ALL OUT, LEVEL 9, GUARDIAN CHIMERA!" CatNap shouted,

Guardian Chimera was Fusion Summoned in Attack Position with 3300 ATK Points. DogDay was shocked.

"No way…" He said, "This has to be enough, right?"

CatNap clenched his teeth again.

"Guardian Chimera has an effect, where I can draw cards equal to monsters used as materials for this card's Fusion Summon and destroy cards you control the same amount!" CatNap shouted, "Guardian's Wrath!"

"Ha ha ha!" LabRat shouted, "Yes, your rage is perfect, but it's also gonna cost you!"

"What now?!"

"I activate one of my two face-down cards, first, the Continuous Trap, Myutant Clash!"

Myutant Clash was activated.

"By banishing 1 Myutant monster from my Graveyard, I can negate your monster's effect until the end of this turn!" LabRat shouted,

"Y-You're shitting me!" CatNap shouted,

"I am not!"

Myutant Mutant was banished.

"And by banishing Myutant Mutant, I'm negating your Guardian Chimera's effects until the end of this turn!" LabRat said as Myutant Clash negated Guardian Chimera's effects,

CatNap laughed more like an insane madman.

"You're such a FUCKING IDIOT!" He shouted, "I CAN STILL ATTACK AND WIN THIS DUEL!"

"Not if I stop you from starting the Battle Phase again!" LabRat shouted as he straightened his goggles, "Because now I activate my other face-down card, and that is Myutant Cry!"

The Trap Card, Myutant Cry was activated.

"What this card does is unique!" LabRat explained, "I can Fusion Summon a Myutant Fusion Monster by shuffling monsters from face-up on my field, Graveyard or banished back into the Deck as Fusion Materials!"

"Huh?!" CatNap shouted,

"Huh indeed! Because I'm shuffling back Myutant Beast, Myutant Mist and Myutant Arsenal from my Graveyard to my Deck as Fusion Materials!"

"This madman can Fusion Summon as well?!" DogDay shouted,

A giant tentacle-like object appeared outside and destroyed the windows and walls behind LabRat as a strange Fusion Summon between Myutant Beast, Myutant Mist and Myutant Arsenal has started.

"Now, combine yourselves and evolve into a new specimen of the unknown that will ultimately destroy everything!" LabRat chanted, "Fusion Summon!"

More tentacles came out as a giant yellow eye appeared underneath the giant tentacles with pink eyes.

"Dominate life, Level 10, MYUTANT ULTIMUS!" LabRat shouted,

The Level 10 Fusion Monster, Myutant Ultimus, was Fusion Summoned in Attack Position with 3500 ATK Points.

"No way…" DogDay said, "It's huge…"

CatNap was still on his wild side as he smirked.

"So, this is your main monster?" He said to him, "Try and stop me, because I'm setting another card face-down before ending my turn!"

CatNap then sets his card to end his turn.

"My turn!" LabRat shouted as he drew to start Turn 7 and looked at the card he drew, "Oh, would you look at this?"

LabRat revealed a Spell Card he drew.

"The Spell Card, Raigeki." He said, "Apparently, this destroys all monsters you control, and since you only have one… It will still be gone!"

Raigeki was activated as a giant lightning bolt came down and destroyed Guardian Chimera. CatNap chuckled.

"This duel will not be over…" He said as he looked at his face-down cards, "I have Mirror Force and Magic Cylinder. Although I don't have any monsters to help me in my hand like Battle Fader, I still have these two traps to help me win this duel the cruel way…"

CatNap then moved his fingers to signal a "Come here" hand language of some sort.

"Bring it on." He said with a menacing smile, "Because my hour of joy will come and that's tearing you apart."

"Bring it on you say?" LabRat said, "Alright, here I go! Time for battle!"

The Battle Phase has started.

"Here it comes…" CatNap said, preparing for what he wants to occur,

"CatNap…" DogDay said, scared, "Please…"

"Before I attack, I activate this Quick-Play Spell from my hand!" LabRat said as he activates a familiar Quick-Play Spell, "And that's Anti-Magic Arrows!"

Anti-Magic Arrows was activated as CatNap was surprised.

"For the rest of this turn, Spells and Traps and their effects are negated and can't be activated!" LabRat said, "I told you, CatNap, your blinding rage will cost you! And let me tell you this, I'm ALWAYS one step ahead of you!"

"N-No…" CatNap said,

"WHAT?!" DogDay shouted, "NO! That's impossible!"

LabRat turned away as he turned his head back at CatNap and pointed Myutant Ultimus at him.

"Myutant Ultimus, attack CatNap directly and TRULY end this turn!" He shouted, "ULTIMATE MYUTANT BLAST!"

CatNap didn't move an inch as he then closed his eyes and prepared himself for the attack. Myutant Ultimus then blasted a giant pink beam from one of its tentacles at CatNap, almost destroying the part of the laboratory. DogDay saw it all in terror.

"CATNAP!!!" DogDay shouted in fear,

Mr. Wolfgang meanwhile was on CatNap's bicycle when he heard an explosion going off from a far. He turned to where the explosion was at and noticed that it was pink.

"CatNap?!" He shouted as he turned to where he was heading, "I gotta go find his friends first!"

Back in the abandoned laboratories, DogDay was coughing for air as he noticed that the laboratory was destroyed. He then saw CatNap, on the ground, fainted as his Life Points were reduced to 0, making LabRat the winner of the Duel.

"No…" DogDay said with tears in his eyes, "CATNAP!!!"

DogDay tried to free himself, but he was too emotional to even try.

"DAMN IT!" He shouted, "WHY DID YOU FLIP OUT, BUDDY?! WHY?!"

"He was blinded by his rage after my test on you." LabRat replied, "And of course, it was a success."

DogDay then turned to LabRat.

"So now, he lost, which was the price he has to pay." LabRat said as he was walking towards DogDay with an evil smile,

"YOU MONSTER!" DogDay shouted, "WHY WOULD YOU TRY AND DO ALL OF THIS?!"

"For you and CatNap to join The Hour Of Joy!"

"NO! WE REFUSE TO–"

As DogDay was chatting, LabRat quickly got out his syringe and stabbed DogDay in his neck and inject what was in it to him. This caused DogDay to pass out. LabRat chuckled menacingly.

"This is going well…" He said as he turned to a fainted CatNap, "The Hour Of Joy will be a success, I just know it. We've finally gotten 2 new members of my friend's team of… Dark Critters… They'll know why they're part of them when they wake up, but for now, this is a victory and no one can stop us…"
