Chapter 13: Sky Chase
While Batman and Robin were distracted by Clownzilla Joker came out to his surprise see's Batman for the first time in years which excited him to laughter.
But he used the hammer clowns' distraction to make a run for it and start up the helicopter just in time before Batman delivers the final blow.
Batman looks over the chopper and sees his enemy from the past smiling at him…
"Joker…" Batman said to Joker.
"Sure missed you Batman. Welcome back…to the game." Joker said to Batman.
Joker's chopper takes off.
"He's getting away." Robin said.
"Not yet he isn't." Batman said.
Batman pressed the center of his belt activating the second Batwing with active autopilot.
The Dynamic Duo grapples up and Batman takes control with Robin sitting behind him and the Bat gives chase after the Joker's chopper.
"How are you here? I thought you were dead." Robin said.
"I'll tell you later. Right now the Joker must be stopped." Batman said.
"I've already notified Gordon. He should have choppers closing in on him." Robin said.
"Good. Alfred, can you patch me to Commissioner Gordon." Batman said.
"Alfred?" Robin asked.
Back at the Bunker
Alfred at the underground garage was on the Batcomputer online with Bruce.
"Patching through now sir." Alfred said.
Back at GCPD
At GCPD in Gotham City, the cop man rushed into Gordon's office.
"Commissioner. Batman is alive." The cop said.
"What?" Gordon asked.
"Batman patch to you." The cop said.
Gordon sat up and took the phone and received Batman's call on his cell.
"Batman? You're alive?" Gordon asked.
"Hello Jim. I'm sorry." Batman said.
"Too. And Robin?" Gordon asked.
"He is with me. I found the Joker." Batman said.
"What's your status?" Gordon asked.
"The Joker's heading South Gotham. Airborne." Batman said.
"Understood. Good work Batman. I'll send units there at once. Gordon out." Gordon said.
Gordon cuts off backup.
"So you are friends with Gordon. I hoped it wasn't true." Robin said.
"They have proven useful so far." Batman said.
"I don't know man…" Robin said.
Soon news of the Batman's return broke out for many saw the Batwing above chasing Joker's chopper…
Back at the Snell's Residence
It was even on the news which Sue and her mother Eleanor with her father: Edward and her younger sister: Sierra saw the live performance at their house…
"Who is that?" Eleanor asked.
"The Batman." Sue said.
"Whoa. Batman." Sierra said.
"But he's dead." Edward said.
"He wouldn't be a friend of yours would he?" Eleanor asked.
"Not the slightest. I mean from what Tommy and I about him his intentions are noble but…I'm not so sure. We are in Mr. Ulmann's class." Sue said.
"He's gotta be a ghost?" Sierra asked.
"No, he's not a ghost. He's alive." Sue said to her sister.
Back at Gotham City
The chase goes on but Joker puts the chopper on autopilot and grabs one of his favorite toys…a bazooka…
He aims at the Batwing and fires…
Batman pulls up barely avoiding the rocket…
Choppers came flying GCPD to box him in but Joker fires another rocket hitting one of the choppers it crashed down… "NO!" Robin called.
"Damn him. Continues to kill…like he did Rachel…" Batman said.
Batman was tempted to shoot him down for this but held back for his code Joker took manual control and flew off with the Batwing still on it.
"I hope he runs out of gas." Robin said.
"It's not that simple. With the Joker it never is." Batman said.
The chase flew over the bay. The Joker was heading straight for Chamberlain but then he reactivated and the autopilot grabbed a nearby parashoot…
"Jeronimo! Hahaha!" Joker said.
The Joker pulls it on and dives out laughing causing the chopper to CRASH into a building.
Batman and Robin were in utter shock in the Batwing.
People screamed with the building catching on fire until out of the blue…
…The Bat's bomb bay doors open and drop hydro bombs burst water throughout the building, dousing the flames to put out the fire.
"Whoa! You did it!" Robin said.
"Yeah." Batman said.
After the fire was put out Batman looked down to the people who were saved by him…
People watched and were shocked by Batman.
"I can't believe it!" The woman said.
"It's Batman!" The man said.
"But he's dead." The boy said.
"He's alive." The girl said.
"He saved Gotham City one year later." The man 2 said.
"He saved us." The woman 2 said.
"The return of Batman." The girl 2 said.
The crowd looked at them and cheered for Batman to be alive!
"Thank you Batman!" The girl 3 said.
"Thank you for saving us!" The boy 2 said.
"You're welcome." Batman said.
Robin smiles.
"Welcome back Batman." Robin said.
Batman nods yes.
"Too Robin." Batman said.
But where did the Joker escape to?
Back at the Hargensen's Residence
It was even on the news which Chris saw the live performance at their house in her bedroom.
"The Batman. You were dead. The return of Batman." Chris said.
Chris growls Batman is alive…
