"This is such an interesting place," Nan commented, looking about the mall as her and Jess took the kids for a little shopping trip.
"Oh yeah, I think I'm going to register the boys at the Crib for future purposes," Jess made her way to another store, Miguel and Hobie following closely.
Been a long time since Brema had walked a mall. Especially with no real goal. Well, that was wrong she was going to look for more shoes for her boy and probably a new pair of shorts since his were ragged.
Hobie followed the pull of the leash, but pointed, "Can we go on the Merry-go-round?"
"Maybe there will be time after we're finished shopping, but not right now," Jess commented.
"Can Mig and I go to the play area then?"
"I need to buy you shoes, boy, and other things that aren't threads," Nan dismissed, pulling him towards the store, "Later, means later. Now, where can I get this thing something I only have to take in a little?"
"Second floor," she showed her to the escalator, "This is where I got those gloves you like so much."
"My bun gloves," he beamed, thinking about one of the first gifts he had received from her, "What store? Can we go?"
"We're going now, calm down," she shushed him.
"Can I show you where the merry-go-round is?"
Bre rolled her eyes, pulling him along.
Hobie whined, grabbing Mig's arm and shaking it, "Do you want to go to the play area? Daddy showed me where. Have you been on the merry-go-round?"
The giant rubbed his eyes, glancing down at him, "Play area is fun. Ye, I got to go on the merry-go-round before. It was fun."
"Do you want to go to the Watch Center?" Jess offered to put him in a littles daycare spot, at least long enough for a nap.
"No, I don't know what that is. I'm not sleepy, I'm awake," His tired whisper brought amusement to his mommy as they traversed just a few stores. It was the same fib he told her when she asked if he wanted to stay home while she did quick errands. And when she had to wake him in the car.
"Ok, baby, if you say so," she chuckled.
"I'm not," he repeated, pulling at Lizzy's collar.
"Nan made it for her," Hobie smiled, "I bet she could make something nice for Inferno or Alfredo. She makes me jammies too. And made my friends some. Nan," he turned his attention to the old woman, "You need to make bro bro jammies."
Bre nodded, holding a pair of shorts to his legs, "Alright, I'll get right on that."
"He likes dinosaurs, and dragons. Did you ever see his Dragon?"
"Yes, I saw it," she compared shorts, "He looked very nice. Let's try these on."
"I already have shorts."
"That are threads of fabric and you can't steal all mine," she rolled her eyes. She was far more voluptuous than him. Which took almost no effort.
"Why can't I? I just need to wear a belt with them, or just wear the elastic ones," he smirked at her, bouncing around.
"I'll give you a belt," Nan scoffed, joking of course, "Lets try these on."
Jess watched them disappear into the fitting room, she took time to gently caress Miguel's cheekbone, "Is someone sleepy?"
He flinched, eyes opening, "No, I was thinking about how much I think Alfredo would like pajamas to match his hat."
"Mm hmm. A lot to do yesterday? Did you have a partner?"
"Yeah, Ben and uhm…Reily."
"Reily? as in Ben?"
"Uhm, no, yes. Ben and Kaine."
"That's a name I haven't heard in a minute," she brushed his hair back, bouncing Gunner on her hip, "We're almost done, boo. Just a few more stores and we'll grab a bite to eat. Ok?"
He nodded, leaning on her head.
"Really proving you're not tired," she teased, tickling his chin.

"I got to drive!" Miles bounced in his seat.
"You did? How nice," Jess praised.
"Is the car still in one piece?" Bre chuckled, reading the menu to look for something.
"Very much so," Static chuckled, running his hand across Gunner's face, making the toddler giggle.
"Nan let's me drive sometimes, long as I agree not to play bumper cars," Hobie colored his menu, "I want fish and chips."
"You had that for dinner last night," she dismissed.
"I want it again."
"You brought my boy out like that?" Virgil looked at Miguel, who was virtually asleep against Jess' shoulder,
"Look, I offered for him to stay home, he didn't want to. What do you want from me? I didn't have a babysitter and it'll be naptime when we get home anyway," she ignored her husband while Miles went on about practicing with his electric powers.
"Look what I learned," Miles charged his hands up.
"Not in the restaurant, kiddo," Virgil warned.
"It's just gonna be a little one, watch," he prepared to make a light burst to impress Hobie and Jess with, but was dismayed when his electric surges diminished.
Virgil held his hand next to Miles', absorbing the power, "Not in the restaurant. Don't want to cause a fire."
The teen pouted, lowering his palms to the table.
X
"Uh huh, yeah? Uh huh," Miguel half listened as Miles went on and on about how he was totally ready for making an electric sword and everything after only a couple hour lesson.
"See what I can do?" The teen held his hand up and showed him the small electric orb.
"Yep, definitely impressive," he walked past him to collapse on to the couch.
"You're not even looking, Tio," he whined, pushing at his arm with the hand that didn't have the orb, "Come on, look!"
"Let him alone," Jess called, "Go to bed, pumpkin."
Miles whined watching Miguel crawled from the couch upstairs to his room, "Lookit Aunty," he showed her the orb.
"That's very nice, honey. Go use the potty and get ready for your nap."
"Do I have to have a nap? Virgil said he was going to teach me more. He's supposed to teach me how to make a sword."
"I'm putting him down for a nap too," she dismissed, "Go on."
"Can I help you make lunch?"
Jessica sighed, taking his hand now that he disbursed his electric ball, "Come on. Why don't I put some music on to help you sleep?"
He whined, following along, "I'm supposed to drive later too. I just want to make sure you don't get overwhelmed."
Jess smiled, patting his hand, "You are so considerate. But I probably won't make something big for lunch anyway. But I'm thinking for dinner we can make stir fry together."
Miles nodded, letting her lead him to the bed that Miguel was passed out in.
"In you go," his surrogate aunt picked him up and laid him under the blankets, "Did you leave Bodega in my room?"
"He's here," he pulled the cat from under the pillow, "Do I really need a nap? I'm not that tired."
"I know you're not," she turned the music player on, allowing it to fill the room with piano and violin lullabies, "Just close those big, gorgeous eyes for aunty and think about the sword you and Virg are going to make. I bet they'll be cool."
"Yeah, it's gonna be super cool," he covered a yawn, turning on his side, "I can't wait to use it. Gonna be so sick to be a Samurai Spider."
Jess smiled as the teen trailed off, "Yep, so cool," she kissed his forehead before walking out, leaving the door open.
X
"He's pretty happy," she threw a blanket over her husband as he lay on the couch.
"Yeah, we're just doing some practicing out in the field," he gestured around his head, "Gonna take him back out after some rest so he can try again to make his sword."
"Good," she slid her way onto the couch with him.
Virgil sighed contently, wrapping his arms around his wife and pulling her close and gifting her with a kiss. Jess kissed him back, rubbing his biceps before leaning into the pillow for a rare nap of her own.
