A quiet whine came from the man's throat as he stared out the window.

Breakfast was over, morning cartoons had been watched. Or half watched mostly. It was almost brunch time. Where were they!?

Mig whined again, watching the cars drive by. Had they forgotten about him? Maybe they were stuck in traffic. What traffic? They were traveling via the wrist device.

"Come on from the window," MJ called over. He looked like a sad puppy, "Don't you want to come color and have your snacks?"

His whining had started to turn to quiet whimpering.

"They are coming, you can't rush them," she hurried over, attempting to pull him away, "Come on, little boy. Come color with May and me."

He barely moved from her tugging. She sighed, turning to Peter who merely shrugged. She rubbed his back and gave up. If he didn't want to move, and Peter didn't want to move him, she sure wasn't going to be able to move him.

They left him alone for a good fifteen minutes until Pete relented and physically carried him kicking from the window.

"You staring out the window lost isnt going to make them come any faster," he chided, "Help us with our pirate ship," he handed him a marker and pointed to the box, "You're in charge of the windows. Now you better do a good job, or you're walking the plank."

Mig glanced back at the window again before he turned to the box and began to draw port and starboard windows on.

It was a good distraction, although Miguel did continue to steal glances at the window.

Eventually he was able to pretend to fight off the kraken and join with Mayday in singing with mermaids. That was actually really, really fun. It served as a great distraction and before he knew it the bell rang.

"They're here, they're here!" he hopped up from the rug, rushing over as MJ opened the door.

"Look who's here, Migs," she sang.

Jess and Virgil barely got two feet into the house before they were both lifted off their feet in a massive bear hug.

"Oh hey," Pete waved, making his way over, "And here we thought we would have another wonderful night with him."

"Oh, I know you were just hoping," Virgil managed to yank one arm from his side and pat his boy's back, "Hi Bubs, did you miss us?"

Mig gripped them tight, his shoulders starting to hitch as he quietly whimpered.

"Oh, no, no, no," Jess wiped his eyes, "Come now, don't cry, we're here now. You knew we were coming, why are you crying?"

"I just missed you," he sobbed into her chest.

"Aww, baby," his mama caressed his cheek.

Eventually Miguel let them go enough for them to touch back down on the ground. This didn't mean he fully released them.

"Ohh, I love this!" May held the shorts she had been gifted to her waist.

"No problem, figured we could get a few souvenirs for our babysitters and their kids," Jess rubbed Miguel's thigh as he clung to her side.

May was ecstatic about her giraffe gift basket, squealing as she showed off her new toys, "Look it!" she stuck one of the suction cup hands to the wall and pulled, "Look, look!"

"That's super cool, Maybug," her mom clapped in joy for her.

The dads managed to sneak away for a moment to talk. Rather Pete was able to pry Virgil from Miguel with the promise of bringing him right back.

"A warning would have been nice," Spider-man whisper scolded, not wanting to risk Migs hearing him.

"Hey, sorry man, we didn't know he hadn't gone full baby mode around you guys before," V apologized, "We figured that by this point…"

"I mean, it wasn't terrible but my gosh," Peter shook his head, "I know he likes bed partners, but jeez."

-Flashback-

Pete gripped the sheets, questioning life and God. Miguel had decided that his stuffed toys weren't quite enough bed buddies for him to sleep comfortably. And any attempts to get him to fall asleep without one of them being in bed with him only led to him getting up a few hours later and climbing into their bed.

Unlike Jess and Virgil, the other couple only had a queen sized bed. This was more than enough for the two of them and the occasional visit from Mayday, it was not big enough for those two and a 6ft9 300lb spider-baby. So whenever he "snuck" into bed with them MJ was crushed into his chest and Peter felt like he was on the brink of falling out at any moment. He didn't, since Miguel had a large enough wingspan to grip him rather tightly. Didn't change that he was mostly hanging off the bed.

Also didn't help that Mayday decided it was a perfect time to join the bed, either sleeping on her dad's face, or managing to crawl under Miguel's arm and lay against her mom.

Pete stared at the ceiling. Toddler foot in his face, one leg off the bed and muscular arms about his shoulders.

He sighed, silently repeating to himself, "Clingy baby is better than bratty baby, clingy baby is better than bratty baby."

-end flashback-

"My everything hurts," Peter complained. "How do you survive?"

"Psh, I missed my weighted blanket, what are you talking about?" Virgil snickered at the man's whining, "I'll buy you a bigger bed."

"You did that, baby?" daddy rubbed Miguel's head as mommy got ready to join them for bed.

"Yea, and MJ and I went to do on site research for her job," he held Invernio tight, laying against Virgil's side, "Did you have fun surfing?"

"Oh man, you're gonna have to try it. I had so much fun," he smiled, teasing his boy's hair, "Mommy kept falling and got mad, so she had to cheat and use her spider feet to stay on the board."

"Was she ok?"

"Of course."

"You don't need to be talking about me like that," Jess scolded her husband as she pulled her bonnet on, "And it's not cheating if it's a natural advantage."

"Said by a cheater," he snickered.

"Ok, I might not be the best surfer. But, I was definitely schooling you in roller blading."

"Well excuse me for being better at skateboarding and surfing," He threw a grin her way as she got under the blanket, "See, she just can't let me enjoy my little victories."

Miguel laid flat, reaching over to wrap an possessive arm around Jess, "Did you have fun?"

"Mommy had a ton of fun. Daddy and I did so much," she kissed his cheek, "I can't wait to go back with my boys."

He leaned his head against her, holding them both close as daddy turned on a movie. 2099 couldn't help but hold them tight, making sure not to grip them uncomfortably, but hold them closely.

"This is how I'm supposed to be treated by my offspring," Virgil kissed his boy's forehead.

Jess giggled to herself, "Stop being salty."

"I am salty! Gonna say some 'why are you back so soon?'" He was just floored by Gunner asking to stay another night with his siblings.

He and Jess shared a laugh about it, before managing to fall asleep to the movie.

Miguel stared at the ceiling of their room, feeling the subtle rise and fall of their chest as they slumbered. The smell of his mama was so comforting. Daddy gave some of the best kisses. He was loved, he was safe, he was happy. He was happy.

The ceiling blurred as tears crowded his eyes, silently making trails down his cheeks.

"Thank you for breakfast," Miguel kissed mommy's cheek, "I have to run to my dimension. There's something I have to investigate with Doom," he leaned over gifting daddy with a kiss as well, "I'll see you both soon as possible."

Jess frowned, "Ok, Pumpkin. Wish you could have come with us to get your brother, you know hes going to be upset he didn't get to see you."

"Yeah, I know. I'll call him tonight," he nodded, giving her a weak smile, "Hopefully this wont take too long."

"Ok," Virgil nodded slowly, "Well, be safe, ok, Bubba. We need you back soon. We missed you and barely got to even spend time."

Mig winced, hurrying over and hugging the man, "Ok," he quickly gave Jess another hug, "I'll try to be fast."

2099 sighed, stepping into his penthouse. He was welcomed by no one and comforted only by the fact that it was no different than normal. A mundane familiarity.

"Lyla," he tossed his bag on the couch.

"Yeah?"

"Please start doing extra cycles on the dimensions," he pulled up a monitor and started typing.

"Things have been pretty smooth. Only real holes are where they're supposed to be," she looked at a list of dimensions she's checked already.

"I just want to be sure. Please go check," he continued typing.

"Fine," with that she blinked off.

With a stoic frown, Miguel typed a few lines of code into her programing before walking to his room for a shower.
