I do not own any piece of this media whatsoever.
I guess I should continue this story here since it's kind of important in its own right huh?
Have you ever felt cold and hot at the same time? I don't mean a bit of chill and a bit of hot, I mean your insides are boiling and your outsides are freezing cold.
That's what I felt at this moment if you couldn't tell as to what I was alluding to.
Adeleines eyes stared into mine as I slowly rose into the air shining a blue light. I wondered then if this is what I might have looked like if I became a real star, it's a pity that'll never happen anymore. I've already made up my mind after all.
I felt my eyes smile as I looked at who will be my new child before looking back to Mochi. We haven't been friends long but I really do enjoy their company. Their mind was a lot sharper than what one may initially think under all that green puff ball exterior and I found it all hilarious how hard she tries to match me in intelligence. It's a nice feeling I will admit.
It's not like we'll stop being friends of course, I will simply be onto a newer form once again to continue my life.
The heat has become burning into a searing pain, but I let none of it out as my cold exterior will let out no force to hurt my friend and new family. Well that's if they accept me really. I've matured enough and finally calmed down enough to know what I'm doing is rash, but the time to be a child is done and I would have needed this grown form soon anyway.
Opening my mouth I begin the chant: —
I will be fully honest with you, none of what came out of my mouth would be considered coherent in any mortal language. Imagine what the sound of stars being used to play a pipe organ and you might get a bit close to, melting instruments included.
As the climax approached and my body began to unravel I felt something strange grab my leg and looked down. Mochi had decided to try to do something, I guess? I'm not sure of her thought process here but now she's caught up in the ritual regardless. Pray the universe likes her for it is what will determine what we shall become.
I can see her silently screaming as her own body glows a blinding green light and begins growing. I can feel the universe laugh at her blunder but it remembers her nonetheless and can feel the good her and her family have done for many worlds and even itself. I can feel it decide to be merciful toward her and play one small prank upon the green puff ball.
She's growing fast, really fast. It takes no time at all for her to surpass adeleines dumbstruck form in size. Soon the orb begins to slim down and a green body takes shape. Arms, legs, head, all new and all too soon it becomes apparent that the universe has set her to become like me, a new humanoid.
Shapes come to her face all too soon, her cheeks are chubby and very rosy, her face is Asian in shape, with large eyes and a small nose that points nearly upward. Her hair is, of course, the same green as what her body once was. It's done in a bob cut going down just past her chin with long bangs in the front. While she was white, she had a light tan as well. She'll maybe hit a bit over 5 to 5 and a half I would assume based on Adeleine's height?
I don't care much to tell how her body would be described other than having small breasts and a petite figure. She could look like a fairy if she tried with all the green.
It seems the universe has decided to bless her with clothes thankfully.
She appears to be gaining a skin tight black undershirt and leggings. She also received a large hoodie that almost goes to her knees in that same shade of green as her hair. It had a cute design of her old form inhaling a large star on it along with having sleeves way too large because of course she does, the universe doesn't care about impracticalities. They do have a really cool swirling design on them though, as if the sleeves close to the hand are tornados. She has some star themed green sneakers because of course she does.
I don't have much time to admire her before going blind. In this newfound darkness I can hear the universe speak to me, It seems highly amused by my actions.
"You, oh child of stars could have been so much. Created so much and been the home for the lives of trillions.
Yet here you sit ready to throw it all away over a child and convenience. Were it not for the child I would have been annoyed. As I am, I sit here bemused by you. Your own actions have brought about change in my Hero's family in a way unchangeable and new.
She will be strong and learn much about what her life is to become, a fitting companion I'd say.
As will you.
I give you the power you need, though it was yours to begin with. I give you the form you craved, may it help you connect with others and let you be a beacon to guide your children. I give you the knowledge you timidly asked me so that you may know how to harness the stars themselves, and seal all that which threatens universes.
HEAR ME NOW!
I grant you this title as your mother has hers so shall you! I pronounce you the holder of the line between that which is in and that which is out.
You will be a Guardian of Space.
As you go through your journey you will help stabilize and fix all realities you come across, great and small. Let this be your compass so you may help all who need it." He declared before fading from what may be my mind.
So. I feel different now. It's a good difference but different nonetheless.
I did not realize that for almost the entire magical girl transformation I would not feel my body contorting in whatever ways it takes to become my new self. To clarify I was marginally an energy being composed of stellar magics and a couple of miscellaneous other energies.
I'm not a Luma biologist, I'm a magical engineer, ship builder and a couple other titles like seal master and such. If you can tell me how your kidneys work then I'm willing to listen to criticism about not knowing exactly how my body works.
My body, from my initial senses and near immediate scans seem to imply that I'm more of a magic meets matter sort of creature. I don't believe I have any form of organs, I seem more like a human shaped doll made out of stellar magics tinted with a restrictive binding energy and sharpened to a point that I worry as to how much control Mama had.
I feel like if I wanted to I could condense the equivalent of an apple's worth of mass down into a black hole and easily turn it into a frisbee. It's as insane as it sounds but my energy is supremely responsive now. It's actually a bit comforting in all honesty.
Either way I was floating in the air with sparkles and other fun little magical effects going on around me. How do I know this? I opened my eyes and saw them, then immediately made them more eye-catching because it was pretty and fun. Just because I'm an adult now doesn't mean I can't have fun, remember that kids.
I slowly let myself land on the ground for the first time since I woke up from being knocked out. Letting my newly slipper clad feet hit the ground I looked to my two gaping friends and swept them into a hug.
"It's so wonderful to see you both." I say as I fall to my knees to better hold them. This moment is one that I will cherish. The feeling of family in my arms.
Everything is silent for a moment before they decide to join in on the hug.
Mochi decides to break the silence after a moment "So like not that I don't like this, but us WHAT DID YOU DO!?" she slowly raised her voice into hysterical shouting as she then proceeded to begin violently shaking me. It's a good thing I don't have bones.
There was a full minute of her incoherently babbling before a small voice spoke up to cut off her hysteria "Why are you like me now?" Adeleine said in an awed mutter.
There was silence again before I looked down at her. "You needed a family," was all I said before taking this dirty and hurt child into my arms. I may not be great or even closely approaching good with healing magics, because I was an energy being afterall, but I did have enough knowledge to take her scars and clean her.
Before this transformation I would have doubted I'd be able to do that. I had a passing familiarity with the subject, and too much power to burn to get it right. Too much power can be a very bad thing when it comes to precision magics like healing. Magic cancer is a thing and it is just as scary. Cleaning was easy though, I'd done it plenty enough to people who came off of rather dirty planets to talk and learn from.
This new form gave me the sheer precision and control needed to do this one thing and by instinct I knew that.
I could feel her stiffness in my arms as she began hyperventilating. I took her into my lap as I softly began to rock her back and forth to sooth her. Running my fingers through her hair I softly spoke to her "Shh shh It's ok sweetie im here im here." kissed her crown occasionally as I felt her begin to cry.
I could feel Mochi sit next to me and begin rubbing her back as well. "Ah, I get it now." she said softly as we let Adeleine let out her emotions into my dress. It was a light aquamarine ish color if you wanted to know.
I could feel her calming down and slowly becoming drowsy as I began to pick her up, to a woman of my height she wasn't awkward to lift. Standing and basing my height off what I assume Mochi's height I place myself as a solid 6'6 maybe more?
I didn't really care all that much right then as I began making my way back to my ship.
Do you remember what I said about Kirby being the final straw, because it's about to become extraordinarily pertinent to the next bit.
I saw a warp star touch down and a small pink figure touch down. He looked at me in the distance as I came toward him at a leisurely pace, before his eyes seemed to widen before settling into a sort of unhappy expression. Kirby expressions are cute no matter what they do most of the time after all so I wasn't too worried.
I did not think much of it, and before I knew it he lept towards me with a kick that would have knocked the breath out of me had I had lungs. What it did do though is make me drop Adeleine and be knocked into a tree. I was stunned and whatever thoughts I may have had ground into a halt.
He caught Adeleine before landing and carefully setting her down. Looking at the tear stains on her face he turned to me "So, I just got done devouring the rest of a stupid cult and I found another rat here too?" He said with a smile and a bounce in his form.
To many he might as well have just said nothing but a few poyo. I have a translator spell that I use on new planets. His siblings were not speaking the same language, but they likely knew it for me to have it indexed.
"W-what excuse me?" I said baffled as I rose back up none the worse for wear. I keep saying this, but I don't have bones, muscles, or blood unless I want to. 'Healing' for me is reverting any hurt parts back to energy and replacing them, I just get tired. Originally the threat would be running out of energy, but I don't think that's much of a problem now.
"Oh? Did you understand that, that's rare," He said amused as he looked back to Mochi "What are you supposed to be trash, a fangirl or something?" he said disdainfully. None of this showed on his face however, which is what made this entire conversation more disturbing.
"What? No it's me Mochi, I like got a human body or whatever now." Mochi shrugged off his crass comments easily. "I even got thumbs now!" she said, wiggling her thumbs.
He tilted his head before noting "You look fucking stupid like that, but hey atleast artsy over here isn't alone or whatever." He said with a nod.
Rolling her eyes she shakes her head before saying "Yeah yeah, but like I need you to know something about Adeleine." He looks at her curiously before she replies without much delay "Did you know she was a child? Like not even a teen, but an actual child."
Kirby looked shocked before quickly looking back to Adeleine "Your fucking with me, Theres no way shes- how did we not know!?" He demands furiously with an angry look on his face.
"She's young enough to still need someone to look after her too, Lumos found out what was happening and had some kinda panic attack before turning the two of us into humans" she said shrugging in foux nonchalance.
She shivered before saying "It feels really weird, but I think I'm stronger now?" She said looking at her hands in questing, gripping and ungripping.
He shook his head before muttering "Damn it. I can't even come home to something fucking going wrong can I?"
I had finally found my footing mentally and stood up before floating forward. I lived most of the years of my life between these two souls floating, I will float.
"She needed a family, she needed someone like her. Im sorry she got dragged into this but-"
"Shut the fuck up before I eat you worm, I was talking to my sister." He said sharply before turning away from me.
I was blindsided by this and couldn't think of any kind of reply to such vehemence mixed with an oddly adorable face. I continued to float forward as the other two began to converse again. I was kicked pretty far.
"Oh stop being a bitch already we'll figure it out like we always do, at least I can connect with Addie more." She said, crossing her arms.
"Yeah well what if we can't? Did you ever think about that or were you too busy playing with the blue chick and apparently child to ask how to fix this?" he said, annoyed by her flippance.
He looked back at me before spitting out "How do we fix this worm, or so help me you will wish I ate you!" He growled, it's weird to see Kirby growl.
"Enough with the insults, it's fixable. Though it takes a long process if you don't have access to a powerful spell or machine to commune with the universe." I said flatly as I came to a stop before Adeleines sleeping form.
I lowered myself into a sitting position and lightly stroked the child's hair. "Even if you do though it just means I'll likely be taking this one with me when I leave." I said idly
"Excuse me?" I heard him reply angrily as I turned to look at an angry Kirby marching toward me "The fuck you mean your taking the kid you fucking worm?" he said before getting into my face.
My face was flat as I watched him coldly "She needs a family, she needs a home, she needs a Mother." I said before looking him in the eyes "I will do right by this child, there is little you can do to stop this."
"Is that a threat I hear worm or am I fucking deaf?" he said with hate flowing through his voice.
"Does it matter to you, or are you going to try to physically fight me over the mental and emotional wellbeing of this child?" I said coldly.
Mochi, it seemed, had had enough by this point and pulled us apart. "Ok that's enough I don't care what your grudge with Lumos is, but it needs to stop! This is for Adeleine after all!"
"Yeah right, fucking whatever." he huffed as he backed away before beginning what could be his trek home "Have this fixed soon or well have problems worm." he said angrily.
We were quiet for a minute before Mochi muttered "He's always like that after adventures. I'm so sorry you had to see that."
I looked at her before asking something that's been on my mind for a bit "Can Adeleine understand what he's saying?" curiosity bleeding over into my voice.
"No." She said flatly before looking down at the sleeping child "I'm surprised she's still asleep though?" she said wonderingly.
"I put her to sleep with magic after Kirby grabbed her." I said idly, picking her back up and starting the trek back to the ship.
She blinked before making an idle "Oh" and following after me.
I don't want to be here for much longer, so i'm just going to cheat on finishing this fucking ship. Time magic is going to be a real huge help in this.
Oh well that's for tomorrow, let's get to bed.
