Two days, that was all that was left before Hiccup and Dagur would be married. Many of the chiefs had given Dagur advice and had even told him that wedding night probably wouldn't be anything special. A few had even been gutsy enough to complain about him marrying the runt, calling her useless, even for the birthing bed as she wasn't likely to survive and neither was the babe. Dagur felt his blood boil but knew he had to keep his temper in check lest they find out his true feelings for her and think of her as his weakness and off her before the two can wed or even try and use her as a pawn to get to him. It also helped when he'd spot Hiccup across the room on occasion.

Dagur and Hiccup had sadly not had a second time to discuss anything as they were both kept busy. Dagur by the other chiefs and Hiccup with her chores. Ruffnut had actually succeeded in dragging Hiccup off and the two met up with Snotlout. That also took away from her time to track down Dagur.

Dragon training was almost to an end, the final three are Delilah, Astrid, and Ram. Many had lost their old bets and so new bets were placed and most of the money and items involved were riding on Ram winning. No one had chosen Delilah to win and the amount riding on Astrid wasn't even a third of what was riding on Ram.

When Snotlout and Ruffnut had pulled her away it caught little attention but the attention it did catch was dangerous. Ram had been with the other heirs when he along with a few others in the group caught the female twin dragging Hiccup in between two houses. That had happened the day prior.

Flashback...

"What is so important Ruffnut?!"

"You're getting married in two days! You're finally going to be rid of this place and we just became friends!"

"Yeah, what are we supposed to do without you here? What is the tribe going to do?" Snotlout asks.

"You guys will be just fine with or without me here. The tribe will survive, they want me off this island anyway."

"So is Dagur your admirer?"

"Ruffnut!" Hiccup scolds. "There are ears everywhere!"

"What are you talking about?" Snotlout asks.

"We're surrounded right now, the heirs caught sight of you dragging me over here and so they're all eavesdropping. They want information for either their own benefit or their parents. No need to give them any extra information."

"How do you know?" Ruff asks.

"I'll tell you later." Hiccup then leans in and whispers in Ruffnut's ear before she does the same for Snotlout. The two nod and the three of them scatter to the wind.

"How did she know?" Ram demands and punches the building he was behind.

"She's always had that sixth sense of avoiding danger. How else do you think she avoided being killed in a dragon raid before?" Jaime asks.

"Who cares how she knew! What matters is that she knew and now we have no new information on her!" Tantrum has a tantrum over.

"What I want to know is what she told the two of them," Camicazi tells them.

"We could just watch all of them," Thuggory suggests.

"Hiccup will be able to slip a tail and see that she's being watched. We'll have to follow the other two."

"That should be easy enough. There's plenty of you stinky boys on this island so getting close to the other girls should be easy enough."

...

The heirs kept a watchful eye on each of their targets. Camicazi and Tantrum had even roped in Delilah and Astrid into the mix. The four then stuck close to Ruffnut and while she thought nothing of it, it also meant that when she got close to her brother the two began to gossip with one another. Nothing was useful information other than the fact that the two Berkians found out that Fishlegs has an extra toe. The two twins had them decided that they wanted to cause some chaos and the four girls wanted nothing to do with that for their own fear of being caught instead of the twins.

Eventually most everyone was in the Great Hall. That is except for Hiccup and Ruffnut. Snotlout had been guided in by his father and the heirs were soon to follow. Snotlout eventually left with the excuse of having to use the bathroom. The other heirs had tried the same excuse but it had failed. At least until Ram spoke up.

"Mother, he has information and if you haven't noticed there's also two others missing from the hall."

"You're dismissed," Kara tells her boys.

This caused a bit of an outrage as Kara should have no control over the boys and that it should be Stoick's decision.

"The runt has some sort of information that she's holding and she might potentially let it slip to them, especially since she'll be leaving soon." Camicazi tells them all looking bored.

"What kind of information?" Stoick asks.

"Who knows. She could be betraying everyone or maybe she just has a secret that she'll entrust to the two of them."

"Let's go find them then! Before anything can happen!" Many of the chiefs shout.

"Do you think she's running from the wedding?" Neil asks causing a bit of panic between Stoick and Kara.

"She wouldn't dare!" Kara tells him.

With the chiefs and heirs all rushing out of the hall in a hurry it gets those in the Great Hall to also follow. It's a sight to see and none of them really know which direction to go until Gobber mentions the woods and a well known clearing they may be in.

Gobber was proven to be right, mostly at least.

Hiccup was more than halfway up a tree, having been climbing it. Snotlout looked amazed while also a bit shocked and worried at how high up she was. Ruffnut was in the same tree as Hiccup hanging upside down from one of the lower branches.

"You are one crazy girl Hiccup!" Ruffnut calls up to her.

"Don't climb higher!" Snotlout yells at her.

"There's still so much room up here!"

"Still it's getting darker!" Hiccup loses a hand hold as the branch snaps. "Hiccup! Stop climbing and get down here!"

"You sound like a mother hen, she's fine Snot!"

"I don't see you climbing a tree!"

"It's not any fun to climb a tree unless Tuff and I are fighting to get to the top, the only other way to win is to knock the other out of said tree."

"And you call me crazy!"

"How can you even hear up there?!" Ruff asks.

"I can hear and see for miles up here!"

"Can you see me?"

"You're right below me, I can see you through some branches but not enough that I can make out your facial expressions."

At this point Hiccup is sitting at one of the higher most branches. "Are you going to come down yet?" Snotlout hollers at her.

"I'm sure I'll get yelled at here shortly to get down."

"Yelled at? By who?" Ruff questions.

"Has too much blood gotten to your head already? Basically all of the tribes and their leaders are only behind the first few trees they can see us."

"What, they are?" Ruffnut flips off of her branch and stumbles on her landing.

"You were only a few feet off the ground and could've gotten hurt!" Snotlout scolds.

"But I didn't! Do you see them?"

Snotlout turns around. "Yes I do. Can you not?"

"No, I see them too but wanted to make sure the air up there wasn't getting to her."

Snotlout rolls her eyes and Stoick comes out from the shadows first. "HICCUP! GET DOWN FROM THERE! RIGHT NOW!"

"The fast way or the slow way?" Hiccup grumbles. "The fast way would probably give them all a heart attack. Snotlout's already being a worry wart."

"We can see you grumbling to yourself! Get down! You're getting married in three days!" Kara yells at her.

"Fast way it is." Hiccup does something that surprises everyone and she jumps to the other tree but falls at least a foot before she catches herself on a branch. She then swings herself back to the original tree and drops a few more feet. This continues until she's about a foot off the ground and just jumps down onto the the ground, making sure to roll so that her feet don't take the hit.

"That was awesome!" Tuffnut yells at her coming near the group of three.

"Hey back off I called her first!" Ruffnut tells her twin.

"You can't call people!" Hiccup tells them.

"No but you can claim them! If you weren't about to be married to the Berserker chief I'd totally have my parents extend an offer!" Hiccup backs away from the two but is finally approached by Dagur, Kara, and her father. Stoick grabs her first and yanks her arm so she can look at his face.

"What kind of a stunt was that?!"

"You told me to get down, so I got down."

"You could've killed yourself up there!" Stoick turns to Gobber. "I want her on a tight leash until her wedding!" Stoick shoves her towards Gobber and he catches her.

"Actually Stoick, I'd appreciate a few words with my bride to be before you release her."

"Make it quick!"

"Alone if you don't mind!" Dagur grabs her from Gobber and the two walk away a bit and the crowd begins to disipitate.

Dagur opens his mouth about to yell when Hiccup interrupts him. "There's still an audience."

Dagur looks behind him and he sees that Ram and Jaime were front and center along with the twins and Snotlout. The two then walk a ways away. "How about now?" She shakes her head no. "What were you thinking Hiccup? You yell at me claiming that I'm not invincable and the you pull this stunt!"

"I-"

"I'm not done! Why would you climb a tree that high and then practically jump out of it?! You could've died!"

"I've probably done that a hundred times and I've never once fallen, it's all about timing."

"Is that why flying comes so naturally to you?"

"Maybe. I've never really tested it. They both come with adrenaline rushes but it's a lot more exhilarating and freeing when I'm flying with Toothless."

"At least I can trust that dragon to catch you should you fall. A tree won't catch you! The ground will and you'd be lucky to still be alive if you fall from a height like that!"

"I'm fine now Dagur and I promise I was just fine earlier."

Dagur then pulls Hiccup into a crushing hug and kiss. "Don't ever do that again! Promise me."

"I promise not to jump out of a tree ever again unless a situation calls for it."

"Never again Hiccup!"

"What if I need to ambush someone from above?"

"You'll wait for back up!"

"Even if it kills me to wait?"

"Fine! Only in life or death situations are you allowed to jump from any height!"

Hiccup sighs. "I guess I can agree to that."

Dagur cracks a small smile. "Good." He then leans down and kisses her possessively again.

"What are the others going to think if they stumble upon us?"

"They'll know that I'm claiming my prize."

"I'm not a prize to be won and you know this! I'm my own person who can control my own actions."

"I know but the others think that about you. They say all of these awful things about you Hiccup. If I hadn't caught your eye across the room a few times I would've lashed out for them disrespecting you."

"Well I'm glad you didn't." This time Hiccup reaches up and gives him a quick kiss to his lips. He pulls her back in and barely gives her enough time to catch her breath before he is kissing her again. Hiccup eventually pulls back and places her hands on his chest. She pants for a bit before Dagur tries to go back in.

"Not right now Dagur! I'm already breathless, I can't believe you aren't."

"I have a bit more stamina then you it appears. The men have already been acting like pigs regarding the wedding night, I hope you can keep up." Hiccup blushes and covers her face allowing Dagur to get close again and pry her hands away from her face. Dagur laughs at her reaction. "Don't hide from me. You're beautiful, even when your face is as red as a tomato."

"Dagur!" Hiccup groans.

"Don't worry the altar kiss will be short, can't show too much emotion. Those who watch the consummation also won't get much of a show either."

"Dagur!" Hiccup shrieks this time.

"It's true. Hiccup we can't show any emotion or make any noises. If any of them find out how deep our feelings really are they'll use that against us. I can't have you being put in danger because if I was ever forced to choose between you and the tribe the choice would be easy. I'd always choose you, even if it meant that innocents would suffer."

"Alright. We'll be able to handle that. Our next problem is how are we going to smuggle Toothless out of here?"

"We'll have to do it the same night we are wed. Most everyone will be drunk out of their minds celebrating. That will be our window."

"Alright. You'll have to bring Toothless a bunch of fish to make up for keeping him in a cramped place though."

"I'm sure we'll manage it. Three more days and you'll be mine."

Dagur then goes in for another kiss and Hiccup obliges him. She also fights for dominance with their tongues before she eventually submits to him. She is the first to pull away again, once again out of breath. Dagur peppers her with a few kisses in between her catching her breath. When she does catch her breath she surges forward and deepens another kiss.

"Alright no more. We have to get back before they get suspicious."

"You basically have dragon like reflexes as to when someone is coming I don't see the harm."

"I also can't be distracted. Right now I'm more focused on our breathing than I am for other people's footsteps and missteps they may take."

"Alright, alright. One more for the walk?"

"Last one," Hiccup warns him.

Flashback end...

That had been the only time the two had gotten to spend together but it had been well spent. Hiccup had been dragged around by Gothi, Gobber, or even Kara. Gothi and Gobber for work reasons and Kara for wedding reasons. Kara had insulted her many times which wasn't anything out of the ordinary however she had new ones after her stunt she pulled the other day. Hiccup was barely seen in the Great Hall and Ruffnut and Snotlout both got glared at if they tried to approach her.

That had been when things turned for the worst. Fishlegs had finally recreated Hiccup's drawing of the dragon queen and had showed it to anyone who would listen trying to find out any information about it.
