Chapter XIV
Since World Items were the most important assets of Nazarick, the location of the Guardians holding them was constantly checked via Mirrors of Remote Viewing by a team under Sloth and Nigredo's command. So Oshikuru reached the spies' headquarters in the Frozen Prison, tossed a doll in Nigredo's arms before she could freak out and then went to the mirror showing Shalltear Bloodfallen.
The True Vampire was on a rough terrain, ready to fight and standing right next to Demiurge who was suspiciously looking around. Oshikuru quickly put on his most powerful gear and turned to the Evil Lord who belonged to him. "Be ready to send in support in the form of all the Guardians here in Nazarick, but do not deploy them until I give the order. Understood?" "Yes, Oshikuru-sama!"
"Good. I'll be going then." I wasted too much time already. But if those players have not yet engaged or fled, they must be noobs… unless it's a trap. Could be, if I don't make sure it isn't, I'll be scolded…
He appeared in the middle of nowhere, a few meters next to the two servants of Nazarick, expecting to trigger something. When it happened nothing, he felt almost disappointed.
Mumbling: "First things first" he unleashed a wave of spells. Countermeasures for ambushes were basic standards for anyone with a bit of knowledge about PKing back in Yggdrasil and he was one of the best at it. The lone wolf he was called by many in the game and while Oshikuru did not like to look for trouble going after people who had done nothing wrong against him, one of his many specialties was PKing those who tried to take him down or to look for his base. The number of people attempting to do so had grown steadily over the years, at least until Yggdrasil started to be abandoned by players who wanted to try new games. Oshikuru had perfected the art of PKing those who were tracking him and he now used his knowledge and experience to lockdown the entire area.
Nobody can escape with magic now and if they try to run with their legs, well I'm faster than anyone, so good luck to those fools. Now… He noticed the Floor Guardians were on their knees bowing deeply and next to those two were the Vampire Brides and a man prostrating on the ground. Who the hell is this?… never mind, I'll find out later.
"Demiurge, Shalltear, good job. You deserve a reward and I'll give it to you very soon. There's just one thing I need to do before that, please wait here a moment." He set off, now at full speed, towards the enemy party which was still deep in the forest more than 500 m from their position. Inside the forest, his wind-shredding speed did drop a bit as he didn't want to crush through the trees making a straight line, but he was sure there was absolutely no way they could physically escape him even in his lesser form and on a rough terrain. And with teleportation out of the way they were doomed.
Faster than his shadow, Oshikuru ran through the woods and arrived almost immediately in front of the people his bad-eye had been staring at since he had teleported next to Demiurge and Shalltear. There were twelve people there, all wearing different gear. It wasn't plain, but rather, their looks were all customized: it was like Yggdrasil players used to do. However, excluding the World Item he'd already recognised as he himself had once owned it, they would certainly be unable to defeat Shalltear and against Demiurge their chances would still be slim. One of the enemies had a Divine Class item, a decent spear, but his companions' gear was Legendary Class or lower. And unlike his own, which he overpowered with data crystals turning most of them into items with stats and skills better than most Divine Class, those were customised only for the sake of looking good.
Still, those people were far stronger than any native he and Ainz had ever met, each one of them could easily overpower the Wise King of the Forest which, by the New World's standards, was a legendary magical beast. Too good to be locals, too bad to be a players… with items definitely coming from Yggdrasil. Hmm, I wonder who they are. Also, they had a completely different presence compared to the other people they had seen so far in this world, the difference between lions and mice. Too bad the lions had just bumped into a demon.
Having decided they deserved to be played with for a little while, he slowed down and scanned all of them, focusing on the spearman. If the Hellking's eye hasn't stopped working, it seems like he's about level 70 strong… Surprised, he took a real look at him. His build was slim but as hard as steel, his face revealed a young age and his glossy black hair was long, to the point where it almost reached the ground. Oshikuru snorted as he thought Stupid boy, you have come for a fight, not a beauty contest. But the young man's ruby eyes, now able to see the incoming enemy, were wary of him. Well, I see you're not completely dumb.
Being the Black Scripure's Captain, he was not. Leading all of his companions but the Extra Seat, he was tasked to find and destroy what was responsible for the fall of the Sunlight Scripture. If Ainz had not defeated and captured those agents while countering the theocracy's divination magic, the Cardinals would have never mistaken it for the return of the Catastrophe Dragonlord, said to be dead or asleep somewhere around E-Rantel. But all that had happened and the Theocracy had sent its best humans to kill or take control of that.
The Black Scripture had already noticed the presence of powerful entities like Shalltear and Demiurge. The humans were carefully approaching when suddenly all the spells casted by Oshikuru stopped them in their tracks with worried looks. And now, this speedster clad in an armour that no one in the New World could create had showed up. "Use it."
The First Seat's voice, issuing orders that unsettled his party, gave the impression of the cold surface of a lake. Oshikuru guessed what he meant and laughed under his breath. Oh the look of despair on their faces when it won't work… I really want to see that! The men and women began acting on the order, but he ignored them completely. Moving in the center was someone wearing a cheongsam, a long dress with a standing collar and slit down the side. It was silvery white, with a five-clawed dragon taking off into the sky depicted in golden thread. But the woman wearing it was old, her face wrinkled, the legs sticking out of her dress reminiscent of burdock root or dried sweet potatoes. The dress really didn't suit her, or rather, the sight of her in it was brow furrowing, to the point that Oshikuru felt she was sullying one of Yggdrasil's World Items. The nickname of the garment was Femme Fatale, though the official name was another.
The old lady made a ritual dance and the dragon on her dress seemed to leave the cloth to fly upwards, turning into a white and gold energy beam which fell down from the sky on Oshikuru, managing to trespass even the defence of his World Champion Class armour. But something repelled the magic power as it touched the demon samurai's bare skin. After all, a World Item cannot affect those who bear another. And he was wearing two.
"Too bad, guys. That thing won't work on me! Mua-ha-ha-ha-ha!" His villainous laughter sent chills down the spine of his rivals, already in fear after seeing he had not been controlled by a supposedly unstoppable power. "Well, I guess children shouldn't be allowed to play with toys they don't even know how to properly use, so I'll be taking that from you. And since you old hag dared to attack me, even if you couldn't do shit, I'll kill you."
"Lady Kaire! Run!" Shouted the spearman bracing himself for the incoming fight with someone he now thought to be on par with the gods. "Out of my way!" Oshikuru sent him flying. A fragile human body would have been smashed by that blow, but he was simply knocked back and not killed. Indeed the demon samurai did not mean to take his life. Others will have the pleasure to play with you, I have no time to waste now that I think of it. With a glance, Oshikuru saw the man even retained his will to fight despite having landed with a thud on the ground many meters backwards.
Then the Hellking moved at full speed: he had long gone when they realised Lady Kaire was missing her head, wildly spinning in midair, and her clothes too. Already back to the True Vampire and the Arch Devil while their enemies were loudly shouting and cursing, Oshikuru happily smiled as he spoke.
"Behold, Floor Guardians of Nazarick! the newest addition to Ainz Ooal Gown's collection… and the finest since we have arrived on this planet… the World Item Downfall of Castle and Country!" Although I have no idea how this is possible in the first place. If the righful owners of this thing had come to this place too, they would have never given it away unless it was a trap to get us killed. But there isn't any… maybe they got themselves killed by these very same guys who then thought they were invincible and came after us... Bah, we'll get an answer soon enough, there's no point in trying to guess what happened.
Shalltear and Demiurge kneeled before the Supreme Being as he held the great prize so easily stolen by he himself to the enemy. The candid dress, gripped by the gauntleted hands of the raven black armoured Oshikuru, seemed even whiter than it was and it sparkled back at the silvery moonlight. Always keeping his bad-eye on the enemies, who seemed to be loudly discussing, the samurai decided not to waste any more time as the matter was basically solved. Not only were those not players, they were all low-level amateurs, if compared to Yggdrasil's players standards even the spearman was not terribly strong. And for sure without them having Femme Fatale, killing off that group would be a piece of cake for the Guardians, especially if both were augmented with World Items.
"Demiurge, I'd give this to you, but as you may understand, Femme Fatale is reserved to a lady…, Shalltear, please give your World Item to your colleague and take this. I'm sure this suits you much more than that old hag I just killed over there…" Drowning him in gratefulness, admiration and praise, Shalltear gave the World Item she had to Demiurge and took Downfall of Castle and Country. As soon as she touched it, the dress magically warped and reformed around Shalltear with a perfect fit. So it works just like in the game, only women can use it… good to know.
"Demiurge, Shalltear, messaging Ainz-san was the right choice. Even if those turned out to be just some natives playing around with forces they don't even begin to understand, it would have been difficult for the two of you to prevail against Downfall of Castle and Country. Of course, had they used against you, Shalltear, its effects would have been rejected by your World Item, but if that targeted Demiurge, it would have granted an absolute mind control from the enemy. And fighting against your colleague on top of them all would be hard even for you, Shalltear…"
I doubt that, but she needs to be told to be careful.
"… But now the coast is clear, you guys have fun with them until my spells fade out. Kill them, clean up and bring their bodies back to Nazarick… or better yet only injure and capture them, but make sure there's no trace left behind. Give them to Neuronist and the Lord of Pain. Highest priority shall be given to how did a World Item fall into their hands and who they are. In the meantime I'll go take care of those adventurers who have split up. It'll be better to make sure they haven't seen something they shouldn't have."
His gaze ended up on Shalltear's servants and the human prisoners. Oh, some expendables to experiment with… "Demiurge, release the man from your commanding aura, I want to see what he can do."
"At once, Oshikuru-sama! Your unlimited power can only be compared to your incredible sagacity!" Turning to Brain, he said [Now you are free] and the man could finally breathe easily. Still, he did not leave the prostrating position.
"Get up, man. I'll give you this one chance to impress me, don't miss it." Said Oshikuru with a voice that admitted nothing but obedience. While he slowly got back on his feet, the demon samurai spoke to the petite True Vampire who was about to leap at the distant enemies. "Before you go, could you lend me your Vampire Brides, my dear Shalltear?"
"W-what!? Of course, Oshikuru-sama! you don't have to ask, your every wish is an order! Take them, do whatever you please with them!" The little girl turned to her servants and her face became a monstrosity as she hissed: "You two, don't dare do anything but obey Oshiku-sama's orders!"
"Y-yes, mistress Shalltear!" They kneeled to her and then prostrated in front of the Supreme Being who stated: "Enough wasting time, just follow me." They immediately but graciously stood up and went after the samurai.
As he left, Oshikuru gave a last warning to the Floor Guardians: "Demiurge, Shalltear, have some fun, but not too much. The preys must be able to answer questions afterwards.
"Of course, milord."
"We won't let you down, Lord Oshikuru. Thank you for giving us this chance!"
He waved a hand at them, then started talking while the Vampire Brides glared at Brain Unglaus who bitterly smiled. "I need you three to kill the adventurers at the cave's entrance while I go get the other team in the forest and the lone man escaping towards E-Rantel. Of course I could kill'em all, but I want to see how you fare against a full party. Don't kill one another, slay those people and don't let them flee. You… what's your name, man?"
"Ah, I'm Brain… Brain Unglaus."
"Oh, really? I've heard about you… well, don't disappoint me then. Try to run or disobey and I'll make you regret being born. Since you're a famous, mighty warrior said to be on par with Gazef Stronoff, I'm even more curious to see how you fight!" While Brain seemed to be shocked for the umpteenth time in the last half hour, Oshikuru turned to the Vampire Brides. "New orders. You two will stand by and watch, intervening only if the enemy flees. Then, kill those cowards."
He sighed. "Now I'm going after those who are already running away, don't mess up. I don't want to waste resources to heal or revive you." The Vampire Brides, even if they now hated Brain even more, showed nothing but joyful obedience to Oshikuru. "Master, thank you so much, being given a mission from you is the best reward I can think of!" Looking at the beautiful Vampire Brides, he thought of a reward which would be more pleasant to those two and to himself as well.
Grinning, the heavily armoured samurai waved at them and jumped away so quickly the other three thought he'd teleported. The poor souls he was going after had done nothing wrong but being in the wrong place at the wrong time. But once enrolled into the Adventurers' Guild, all knew they would risk their necks to fight against monsters. And now, one they couldn't even hope to defeat was coming to claim their lives.
In the meantime the three unlikely allies reached their target and stared down at it: a party in tight formation. The vanguard was made up of three men, all warriors. Their gear was different, but each wore scale armor, had a weapon drawn in one hand and a large shield on the other. Behind them was a woman warrior with red hair wearing banded armor. And behind her, walking as if he was under everyone else's protection, was a lightly equipped man with a staff, probably an arcane-type magic caster. In line next to him was a faith-magic caster wearing priestly garb over his armor with a sigil shaped like a flame hanging from his neck.
The six of them were astounded to see a man walking with two vampires, but there was no confusion and they kept their guard up: a composure gained through experience. It was fine to kill humans who held up about as well as tofu, but something with more crunch to it was definitely better. With anticipation in their crimson eyes, the Vampire Brides smiled at them and one licked her lips. "You do seem tastyyy…"
"It talked?!" The arcane-magic caster was shocked but for only a moment. His face hardened immediately. "Assume they're all vampires, only enchanted or silver weapons will work. We can't win! Withdraw! Don't look at their eyes!" he shouted in an overly loud voice that could be heard throughout the hollow. His orders conveyed only the most important information and the others reacted quickly. The warriors out front took up a defensive stance, and their eyes strayed, focusing in on the enemies' lower body. While that was happening, the woman warrior behind them took all members' weapons and began applying something. A faint but disagreeable odor drifted into the air.
It was alchemical silver, a special liniment created by alchemists. When it touched a weapon, it made an oil slick, covering the weapon in a glaze with the properties of silver. Generally, for how expensive silver weapons were, their blades were far softer than steel, even iron ones, so they weren't geared for long-term use. For that reason, many adventurers bought this liniment and applied the properties of silver for a limited time as necessary. Brandishing the temporarily silver blades, they were about to retreat while keeping the enemy in check. It would be a magnificent one for all of the party moved smoothly as if they were one creature.
"Our god, god of Fire—"
"Don't push yourself! Prepare defensive spells!" Stopping the priest, about to hold up his sigil, the arcane-magic caster began unleashing his own spells on the front line and the cleric joined him. Even if it depended on the class, most priests made use of the gods' power to exorcise, subordinate or annihilate beings such as undead, demons and angels. But they could do those things only to beings markedly less powerful than themselves. In other words, the cleric had probably been about to attempt an exorcism, but the arcane-magic caster had perceived the power gap between the vampires and his associate, deciding his efforts were better used for something else, so he gave instructions accordingly and was obeyed.
Thus, Brain picked out who the leader was and thought he'd better try to stop his retreating plan. This Oshikuru wants to make me fight them, but if they flee the vampires will kill them all and then who knows what he'll make me fight against… but these people, I can easily cut them down even in this state. He was quite shaken after discovering what a monster Shalltear Bloodfallen was. And the fact she served someone more powerful than her, someone who was so fast he seemed to ridicule the concept of speed…
"Hey, you. Make a run for it and these two will come to kill you. Make a stand here and I'll be your sole adversary." Surprised by the man's words, the party stopped moving and their boss did not seem to like it. But the Vampire Brides surely did not. The two knew they should follow orders and not touch Brain, but the crimson urge to slaughter the one who prevented them to kill their preys and see more blood flooded her mind. They wanted to kill and crush and dismember so badly, like their mistress did. They wanted to bathe in blood. Froth gathered at the corners of their mouth as they panted in thinking about that.
The enemies' leader seemed to have taken a decision. "Come get us then!" he yelled at the blue-haired man. Had they recognised the face half covered in dirt, they would have fled no matter what. Brain was totally harmless against Shalltear Bloodfallen, but in Re-Estize few could face him and tell the tale.
As he grabbed his katana's hilt, the warrior felt confidence and strength come back to him. Then he leaped forward so nimble he pierced a shield, cut through armour and magic defenses, ripped apart skin, flesh and bone. All of it without resorting to martial arts yet. That was what he unleashed on a fellow human due to his rage at becoming a tool for monsters so far beyond his abilities.
The fierce attack seemed to convince the adventurers he was definitely not a human. "Our god, god of Fire! Cast out the impure one!" Invisible holy energy radiated from the priest's sigil. Of course, it had no effect on Brain Unglaus. "Haha! If only you knew what monsters really are!" And he laughed as a madman. A sword tried to rip into him, but the head of the warrior brandishing it was sliced off and he crumpled to the ground, neck spouting blood.
"Lesser Strength!" The priest gave the last remaining warrior a buff. Now his movements were matched up against the magically enhanced warrior. But the fight was going slightly in Brain's favor as he, even without martial arts or buffs had better swords play than the rival.
At that moment, Oshikuru arrived right behind the two Vampire Brides eyeing at their bottoms. Then he looked at the fight and whispered: "Well, it seems like he's having fun, so let's not bother him." The vampires, shocked by the voice of someone they had failed to perceive, calmed down once they saw it was a Supreme Being and bowed deeply to him. "Once he's done, we'll get their bodies to Nazarick. Even in death, humans are useful to us." Glad to hear such things, the Vampire Brides turned back to the fight hoping Brain and the others would kill each other.
After killing the last of those three, yhe blue-haired man turned to face the priest, but the woman warrior planted herself between them, holding her sword. Still, it was only an iron weapon. How cute she is. Even twitching in fear, she does her best to take a combat stance but she looks like a mouse putting up a pitiful resistance against a cat… hold on though, I've seen that girl already. She's the one I gave the potion to… why didn't she sell it to get better equipment or an easy life? Stupid girl, you really deserve to die. Indeed she did, for the merciless Brain Unglaus cut her down in the blink of an eye.
Then he faced the arcane-magic caster and the priest. Faster than the cleric could move, he cut off the hand that held his sigil and blood spurted out of the injury. "Gyaaargh!" Satisfied with the sound of his scream, the Vampire Brides giggled while Brain kindly relieved him of his pain: the katana flashed and the priest's head fell.
Then he stared down the caster, shocked to see all his companions dead. "Magic Arrow!" He casted with a desperate look on his face and two shards of light flew at Brain who, knowing he could not dodge that, took it head on and attacked. Ignoring the pain caused by the tier-1 spell which pierced him, he stepped forward and sliced his adversary in turn. Then, a man fell to the ground. It was the last of the adventurers.
When he turned around slightly panting, Brain noticed Oshikuru. "You're back here already?" The Vampire Brides seemed furious. "You shall address him respectfully, lowly human—"
"It's fine, he's a new servant. He'll learn." Nobody but him seemed to agree with that statement, but Oshikuru did not care. He turned to the man, saying: "Nice job, you didn't even use martial arts. Do search the ginger girl, she should have a healing potion. Use it and your little injury will be fixed."
Thinking How the fuck does he know that?! Brain obliged while thanking the one he now belonged to. He actually found a potion in the girl's pouch, though he seemed unsure about it. "She's got this, but it's red… I've never seen anything like it. Are you sure?" "Don't doubt my words. Drink it up or I'll have these two suck you dry… and not in a good way." Feeling there was a hard truth behind the dirty joke, Brain hastened to drink the potion and immediately felt it working its magic. He touched his chest and the twin injuries caused by [Magic Arrow] had disappeared: the skin under his fingers was perfectly intact. "This is amazing! Where did she get this potion?"
"From me. She played her part in my plans." Or at least kind of, he thought. "But she now dared to get in my way. That is unforgivable. Now, do you wish to share her fate and die a stupid death? or will you live to serve me… no, to serve me and Ainz Ooal Gown, my best friend, the greatest person ever?" Brain did not hesitate. He dropped to his knees and bowed deeply to the one he could not even hope to defeat. "I swear to serve you, my Lord Oshikuru… and your friend Ainz Ooal Gown too."
"Excellent. Consider yourself lucky, if I hadn't come, Shalltear or Demiurge would have torn you apart, but you're under my protection now. Nobody will lay a finger on you at our home. Let's get to it. [Gate]!" And a disc of dark energy appeared in mid-air.
"Take their bodies and… no don't clean up, it'd be strange to leave nothing behind. And people will blame your former criminal associates, Brain. You two, I have already checked on the cave and taken all bodies to Nazarick, so no worries, everything is settled. Once we're back home, report to Shalltear and Demiurge. They have already dealt with those other people and returned to Nazarick. Brain Unglaus, you too will join them in a mission to find and handle Eight Fingers and all the other criminals in Re-Estize. Tell to Demiurge and Shalltear everything you know about it and beware they can see through lies or prevent you to tell them. As long as you serve well, no one will harm you, but don't ever betray us. On the other hand, good servants deserve good rewards. When I hear about you accomplish something, I'll let you have a worthy prize... But what does your heart desire? perhaps a better sword?"
"Thank you, Lord Oshikuru. If I may, I'd like to have the chance to see your power so I can understand what it is. I've witnessed firsthand Shalltear's and it was beyond anything I've ever imagined. But if you command her, you must be even stronger…"
Oshikuru puffed up p, though the armour prevented it from being seen. "Yes, I'm proud to call myself the strongest of the strongest. If ever it comes a time when I have to unleash my whole strength, I'll make sure you'll see it too. But I know what you really want, I can see it in your eyes you hate not being the strongest as you thought you were… I know you want to grow stronger, I get it. Once upon a time, I was not so different from you. I looked for a power to make me stronger than I was until I found it."
"And what was that?" Something sparkled in the human's eyes. "Hm. It's a long story and I've got no time to tell it now." Brain seemed a bit upset by that, but said nothing. It was Oshikuru who spoke again. "So I'll show you. But first, put this on..." He tossed at Brain a ring of protection from negative energy. "… and get the bodies through too." The vampires and the human moved the corpses through the portal Oshikuru crossed and ended up in an arena.
The one on Nazarick's Sixth Floor. Then Oshikuru removed his helmet and brought a finger up to his closed eye, revealing the green orb under the thin layer of skin. "This is what made me powerful. For it allowed me to become more than just a human." Then he activated it and started changing in front of Brain Unglaus who stared at the fascinating horror. The lightly tanned human skin turned into gore black matter and additional arms sprouted out of his body while the magic armour changed as well to adapt to the new shape of its wearer who grew larger and taller. Two large dragon wings on his back was the final touch. Stared down by a creature beyond human limits, he was no longer afraid. The man would envy and admire it even if he was killed by that.
"The eyes, chico, they never lie! You remind me so much of my young self… ah fine you lucky bastard, get back up and take this before I change my mind." That said, he grabbed a sheathed sword and gave it to him. "It shouldn't break no matter what you do with it, but if you manage to dent it, running to the world's end still won't save you from escaping my wrath." Brain stood up and thanked Oshikuru as he accepted the gift in his hands. He noticed its hilt was extremely similar to his katana's and seemed perplexed.
"Well, what are you waiting for? This is not a test, draw your new sword, man!" He did so and his eyes sparkled as much as the blade did in the light of just so many [Continual Light] lamps all over the arena. Brain had known swords all his life and obtained what was one of the finest blades in the continent at a price that would make a noble tremble. But compared to the katana he was now holding, his old one was less than a piece of junk. This katana's edge cut just by looking at it, yet it did not seem to be fragile at all, on the contrary it gave off an incredible sense of fortitude that not even a catle's wall could emanate. The azure, almost transparent blade had a simple yet elegant shape that seemed the incarnation of cutting power as if that was what all the other swords in the world could only dream of. The adoration towards the sword turned into absolute respect to the creature in front of him, no matter it being man, demon, something in between or something else entirely. "Are you the God of War?"
"Umu. What a nice title… I find it fitting. You're surprisingly good at praising, my man. Perhaps someday people will call me like that. But I'm Lord Oshikuru in Nazarick... and Oshiku the Bard Samurai to everyone outside of here. Remember that and do not act in a way that would bring shame to me. I've given you one of my best weapons, don't make me regret it. Use it well to serve Ainz Ooal Gown and I."
"Yes, Lord Oshikuru! I swear I will!" He took the oath under the fake sky of the Sixth Floor, but the promise was real.
"I can see you mean that, good. Well, now I really gotta go. After you're done reporting to Demiurge and Shalltear, go wait for me by my room's door. I'll be back soon to give you some advice, don't do anything stupid until then."
Turning to the Vampire Brides, he ordered: "Look after him until you get back to Mistress Shalltear. Let everyone know about him being a new servant who is now tasked to help us with identifying the criminals in Re-Estize. Then return to Shalltear wants, after all she's your mistress… however, there's something which you shouldn't tell her or anyone else…" He got close to them and whispered something in their ears. Disbelief quickly faded from their faces, replaced by a lust they did not even try to hide. "Do as ordered," were Oshikuru's last words before he teleported away.
I'm really enjoying this!
I love this!
Thought Shalltear as she gave another heavy blow to the last man still standing on his feet.
Despite all the training, experience, tricks and teamwork shown by the Black Scripture, all its members were soundly defeated, mostly by the unstoppable force Shalltear was, while Demiurge only landed a hit here and there, focusing on not letting anyone take a breath or flee. Now, all but the First Seat were so weak Demiurge's commanding aura had taken ahold of them and forced the humans to prostrate on the ground shattered by powerful blows and filled of blood. But the Black Scripture's captain still refused to give up.
Spitting out a tooth and some blood, he hissed: "I won't surrender to you monsters! Only the gods know what you'll do to us… but we will be avenged! The gods will destroy you foul creatures!"
"There are no gods but the ones we serve… you should be thankful you've seen one of them and grovel at his feet, yet you still believe your false gods will get you out of trouble… know this, once the true gods find out what country you're coming from, they'll burn it to the ground and make you watch that!" Shalltear exploded in a mad laughter while her adversary furiously attacked her with all the strength he still had.
"Humanity'll never fall to youuu!" His divine spear moved so fast it seemed countless lances were about to hit the vampire nonchalantly wearing the gods' sacred artefact in front of the one who served them. Hatred and determination made the Captain go more than all out, he'd never been dealing blows so strong and fast and accompanied the strikes with battle cries.
Yet Shalltear Bloodfallen kept laughing at him while countering each and every single one of them. Her Spuit Lance was no less than the nameless spear the human was wielding, besides she was both stronger and faster than him. Even without resorting to her magic or skills, the True Vampire had beaten the Black Scripture to a pulp and would now do the same to the last man. After releasing a wild barrage of strikes, the human's breath got ragged and he backed off. Unlike his undead opponent, he was becoming increasingly tired. But Shalltear would not let him recover, even if she would have loved to keep on playing with him. Lord Oshikuru had ordered to capture them all, clean up and return to Nazarick where the prisoners would be tortured and the dead consumed.
"Your time has come", said a male voice. The speaker then punched the heavily breathing man on the head. Using the skill [Aspect of the Devil: Stout Demon's Gigantic Arms] The fiend's right arm had swelled up to several times its original size. This was not a mere inflation, but a sturdy arm of actual muscle and bone that was a weapon in its own right. That thing knocked out the weakened man who fell down hard.
"Demiurge, I was about to take him down!" Pouted Shalltear.
"You've had enough fun. We must go, the spells Lord Oshikuru has cost will be gone in a moment. Open a portal and take these people away, I'll clean up the mess around here."
"Aahh, fine." She cast a [Gate] and tossed the prisoners to the other side. They would not gracefully land, but that would be the last of their problems once the Officers of Torture started to forcefully take information out of them.
So did the best strike force of humanity fall to the power of Ainz Ooal Gown.
