"Last time on Total Crossover Island," said Cosmo. "The teams were given a challenge: one-on-one duels with five of their best(?) players."
"Some of the battles were just plain surreal," said Wanda. Footage of Muffin turning herself into a llama and later a flamingo queen began to play. Discord was getting so bored with Staci's chatter that he made her lose her hair.
"But especially father and son: Boris and Caillou," said Cosmo. "Boris turned red with a big mouth, while Caillou was crying and dancing and stretching all around the stage. In the end, the Parrots won their first challenge, and Boris was sent home."
"Who will win the next challenge? And will the competition become even more insane?" Wanda asked the readers. "Find out tonight on Total... Crossover... Island!"
A glow of light appeared as Boris landed on his living room sofa with a loud plop. His wife, Doris, walked into the room. "Hello Boris," she asked her husband. "Is Caillou still at summer camp?"
"It was more than a summer camp, Doris," said Boris. "But I can't talk about it."
Howie and Chip were sitting on the Goats' front porch, playing with their stuffed toys.
"Hug Bat wants to know if he can give Potato a hug," Howie asked Chip.
"Sure, but be gentle with her," she answered. Potato squeaked happily as she felt Hug Bat's wings tickle her face.
Later that night, inside the girls' side of the Goats' cabin, Peppa pulled out a cardboard box that said "Peter Piper Pizza". She helped herself to the last slice of pizza from the first victory dinner. Soon afterwards, after the other girls had fallen asleep, Peppa turned on her favorite inappropriate music playlist as she began to sing along to "WAP".
Meanwhile, while the Parrots were asleep, a shadowy figure crept up the stairs and into the boys' dorm. The professor, who was wearing a black nightcap and nightgown, was sound asleep. The figure stood by the professor's bedpost and waited for him to wake up. Instead, the mysterious figure picked up the professor and carried him out of the bedroom, down the stairs, and out the front door. Meanwhile, Lindsay woke up as soon as she heard footsteps. She followed them down the stairs and into the woods.
Once they arrived in the woods, Professor Ratigan finally woke up.
"Is that you, Fidget?" he mumbled as he rubbed his eyes, mistaking Howie's stuffed toy for one of his henchmen.
"No, professor, I don't know who this Fidget guy is," said Howie. "And neither does Hug Bat."
"Professor Very Big Mouse, it's just me and Harvey," said Lindsay.
"Why are you both towering over me? And I thought you were supposed to be asleep by now?" wondered the professor.
"Gee, professor, what do you want to do tonight?" asked Howie.
"The same thing I do every night, Howard," said the professor. "Try to take over the world!" He began to laugh maniacally.
Under the moonlight, the professor began writing a very long master plan, with suggestions from his alliance.
"I think we should eat the competition alive," suggested Howie. "Literally."
"Seriously, Howard, I don't approve of cannibalism," said the professor. "And furthermore, you're the only hyena on this island."
"Professor, you said that you could steal other people's things without asking them," said Lindsay.
"You know what, Lindsay? That gives me a brilliant idea," said the professor as he scurried off into Cosmo and Wanda's cabin.
The next morning, at the amphitheater, Cosmo and Wanda were ready to announce the next challenge.
"Good morning, campers!" said Cosmo.
"Today's challenge will test your minds and your teamwork," said Wanda as she wished up the challenge wheel. She stood in front of the wheel and gave it a spin. After a few seconds, the spinning stopped as Cosmo began to read the challenge.
"Both teams are going to make dinner tonight!" he announced. "For themselves AND me and Wanda."
The contestants were all excited and chattering about what to make for dinner. Just then, Ash raised his hand.
"Excuse me, Cosmo and Wanda?" he asked.
"Yes, champ?" said Wanda.
"Since everyone is cooking tonight, what will tonight's reward be?"
"Glad you asked, kiddo," said Wanda as she and Cosmo suddenly wore chef uniforms. "Whichever team makes the best dinner will be rewarded with a movie night!"
"The Parrots will be cooking in their cabin," said Cosmo.
"And the Goats will be cooking in the cafeteria kitchen," said Wanda.
Inside the cafeteria kitchen, Chip immediately offered to be head chef for the Goats.
"My grandma and her husband opened up a taqueria," she explained. "They make the best tacos in the metro area."
"All in favor of Chip, say 'Aye'," said Scarlett.
"Aye," said everyone as they raised their hands, except Discord and Peppa.
"Okay then," said Chip as she held a finger to her mouth. "Let's see what each of us should do."
"Muffin, Peppa and Tyler... you guys will be making dessert. How about... pumpkin pie?"
"Jimmy and Scarlett... you two can make some vegetables on the side."
"Discord and Elena... you two can make the first part of dinner."
"Howie and I will be making tacos for dinner."
CONFESSIONAL:
"I've never eaten at Chip's family restaurant," said Howie. "But maybe Grammy could take me and Hortense there sometime."
"My dad likes eating at a restaurant called Taco Shack," said Jimmy. "But I won't be in charge of cooking tonight."
Inside the Parrots' cabin, Spyro chose to be head chef.
"I'll be in charge of the main course AND the baking," he announced. "Ratigan and Lindsay, you two are in charge of dessert. Ash, Dora and Caillou; you're in charge of the side dish. Jason, Staci and Fluttershy; you can make the appetizer."
"Did you know that my great-grandfather Dave invented forks? Or that my great-great aunt Lois invented plates?" said Staci.
As Spyro headed off, he managed to find an old cookbook inside the living room's bookshelf.
"Reminds me of the barbecues that Alvar told me about," he decided. "That's what my main course will be: barbecued lamb."
As he returned to the kitchen, carrying the cookbook in his mouth, his other teammates had already begun cooking with no particular ideas in mind.
Lindsay and Ratigan were making a citrus macadamia upside down cake flambé, but they needed help from the other team.
"Howard, this is the professor speaking," he said through a contraband walkie-talkie. "Do you copy?"
"I can hear you loud and clear, professor."
"Mousigan and I don't know how to make an upside-down flamer thingy," said Lindsay.
"Aren't you guys on the same team as a dragon?"
"Spyro is in charge of baking and grilling the food," said the professor. "There should be a recipe in the cookbook that he was carrying."
"I think it's like a cake with nuts and fruit in it, maybe oranges? And maybe pouring a whole can of lighter fluid on it. AFTER baking."
"Thanks, Harvey!" said Lindsay.
Inside the cafeteria, Cosmo and Wanda could smell the Green Goats' hard work.
"Mmm, smells good!" said Cosmo as he licked his lips.
Inside the cafeteria kitchen, the Goats were hard at work.
"This is my grandma's family recipe," said Chip. "It calls for some ground meat, some lettuce, and some cheese. And of course, crunchy shells." She and Howie washed their paws and began preparing the main course. "You can help yourself to a little cheese, Potato," Chip whispered to her pet mouse.
Meanwhile, Muffin, Peppa and Tyler were making some pumpkin pie. Tyler dropped the can of pumpkin filling and tripped over it. Thankfully, he was all right, and the can did not burst open. "I'm okay!" he announced with a thumbs up.
"CAN OPENER!" yelled Muffin as Peppa handed her one. Muffin wildly opened the can of pumpkin filling and dumped the insides into a bowl. She began stirring in some condensed milk, eggs, sugar, and spices. "IT'S LIKE MAKING PANCAKES!" she yelled.
Meanwhile, Tyler and Peppa were making the pie crust, which was made from flour, softened butter, water, and vegetable shortening.
Jimmy and Scarlett were measuring the perfect portion side for the vegetables, specifically asparagus. In grams, of course.
Meanwhile, Discord taught Elena how to make pretzels. He contorted his body into a pretzel shape, which Elena then replicated.
Meanwhile in the Parrots' kitchen, Spyro was seasoning the lamb with some spices. "La de da," he hummed to himself.
Lindsay and Ratigan were done making their upside down cake flambé. All they had to do was wait for Spyro to bake the cake batter.
Ash, Dora and Caillou were making a bowl of fruit salad. Pikachu also helped with slicing the fruits, and Ash also let him have a sample.
Jason, Staci and Fluttershy decided to make some tomato soup for the appetizer. After they finished blending the tomatoes, they added a little bit of melted butter and water to dilute the tomato paste.
"Did you know that my great-great-great-great aunt Rosie grew the first tomatoes?" said Staci.
As Spyro returned to the kitchen, he flamed each of the meals one by one.
"Oh no you don't," Ash warned Spyro as he yanked away the bowl of fruit salad. "We're not serving flame-broiled fruit for dinner tonight."
Soon afterwards, both teams were done cooking their meals.
"Okay campers," announced Wanda. "Both teams have to bring their meals into the cafeteria. Cosmo and I are going to give a taste test!"
First, Cosmo and Wanda wished themselves back into the cafeteria, where the Goats had prepared a meal consisting of pretzels, asparagus, tacos, and pumpkin pie. The Parrots walked in, with each of them carrying a covered silver platter.
"Yes, Cosmo and Wanda, we remembered to make a meal for 11," said the professor as he sat on Lindsay's shoulder. Fluttershy smiled as she revealed her team's four-course meal: tomato soup, fruit salad, barbecued lamb, and citrus macadamia upside down cake flambé.
First, the hosts were treated to the appetizers. Since the Parrots won the last challenge, they offered their meal first. Of course, the Parrots ate alongside the hosts.
"It tastes too tomatoey," said Cosmo. "It's all tomato, no soup."
"Fruit salad, yummy yummy," Cosmo sang because he liked the side dish.
"All right, who overcooked the lamb?" said Wanda.
"Mmm, cake," said Cosmo. But before anyone could take a slice, the professor had a comment to make.
"Spyro, please do the honors," he ordered the purple dragon to set the cake on fire. His flame breath caused a miniature firework celebration.
The Parrots applauded as Lindsay threw the professor into the air. "Ooh, look what you made me do, look what you made me do, look what you just made me do, look what you just made me..." they began to sing.
"But what does it taste like?" asked Wanda. Cosmo took a bite. "It tastes like oranges with a little nutty taste."
Next up were the Goats. Howie and Chip were really confident in their teamwork,
"Wait a minute, there's no salt on the pretzels," Cosmo noticed. "That's the best part of pretzels!"
"The asparagus is either too crunchy or too soggy," Wanda remarked.
Next were the tacos. "Nice and crunchy," said Cosmo. "Just the way I like 'em."
"And finally, dessert!" The pumpkin pie was perfectly carved into 33-degree slices. Wanda took a bite and her eyes lit up.
CONFESSIONAL:
"I let the other guys choose what they wanted to make for the first half of dinner," said Chip.
"Uh huh," said Potato.
"AND THE GOATS WIN THE CHALLENGE!" announced Cosmo. "YOU GUYS ARE GOING TO THE MOVIES! But not really!"
"Parrots, we'll see you in one hour at the campfire," said Wanda.
The Goats headed to the breakroom to choose a movie to watch. Inside the breakroom, Cosmo lifted his wand, causing a small flood of popcorn.
"Let's watch Swearnet: The Movie!" suggested Muffin.
At the campfire ceremony, the Parrots were expecting to meet their fate.
"With zero votes, Lindsay, Ash, Caillou, Dora, and... Ratigan... you are all safe!" Wanda said as she made a marshmallow appear in each of their hands.
"Spyro, you're safe! And so is Fluttershy!" said Cosmo as he wished up a marshmallow for each of them.
"I'm in the bottom two... again..." said Jason. "Let's just get this over with."
"Not so fast, kiddo!" said Wanda. "And the final marshmallow goes to..."
Staci was starting to sweat nervously, while Jason was holding his wings together patiently.
"Jason." A cloud with the word "Poof!" appeared, as a marshmallow landed into his beak.
"Aw, but I was doing so good..." said Staci as she sulked her way to the dock. Meanwhile, the other Parrots were roasting marshmallows and singing campfire songs.
CONFESSIONAL:
"I guess nobody was interested in hearing stories about my family," Staci admitted.
As she stood on the Teleporter of Shame, Staci lifted a finger, as if she had something to say.
"Any last words before you get sent away?" said Cosmo.
"My great-great-great-great-great-great-grandfather invented..." she said as she faded into oblivion.
"What a crazy challenge!" said Cosmo. "What will happen next time? Find out on Total... Crossover... Island!"
