It's already been a few weeks since Anna and her friends had saved Dinotopia from Ogthar by using the sapphire sunstone, and ever since John adopted Anna, she's been having a blast while helping in the hatchery as well as taking care of Tika, her new friend and partner. Today however, is one of those rare days off where the kids didn't have to help out in the hatchery as the babies and yes, that included Spazz were learning from Albagon and John while Mara, 26, Anna and Kex were each doing their own thing for the day, but only Anna and Kex wanted to hang out together while Mara and 26 went down to the beach to play in the tide pools. "What should we start with?" Anna asked her best friend, Kex smirked as he held up his skateboard which made Anna smile back at him, after leaving a note for the others, Anna and Kex were soon speeding down empty hills on their boards while also being careful. "This is awesome!" Anna cheered out, she and Kex were having so much fun as they skateboarded together just like they had done many times in the outside world. "Let's head for the beach!" Kex called to Anna, she nodded in return then followed her best friend/brother down another round of hills.

After skateboarding their way down to the beach where 26 and Shanise had first found them, Anna and Kex saw their old boats. "I'm surprised that no ones done anything with these." Kex commented, Anna had to agree with him as she thought that the skybax teams would've gotten rid of the old lifeboats that had brought both kids to the island of Dinotopia since she and Kex had no use for them anymore as they had decided to live on the island. "Maybe someone will do something eventually." Anna said as she sat down on sand, Kex sat down next to her before they both laid down on their backs in order to watch the clouds as they passed by. "What a nice day." Anna said with a smile, Kex nodded in agreement as they stayed on sandy ground for a little while just enjoying the peace and quiet when suddenly, Anna turned to Kex as she smiled at him softly. "Wanna listen to some music?" Anna asked Kex, he was going to ask how they'd be able to do that when he remembered that Anna had fixed an old speaker that could connect to their Cd players. "Sure, why not." Kex replied with a smile, Anna quickly set up her Cd player then connected the speaker to it just before turning on the music which played an up beat tune that was from a show called 'Happliy Ever After: Fairy Tales for every child' a show that Anna and Kex both watched when they were little kids, and have loved the music for it.

[Kex Speaking then Singing]

Hmm, have to think about this. (Anna: Laughing)

"Could she?" Kex asked as he looked at Anna, this made her remember the very first time Kex had sang this song when they had both auditioned for the school play, which happened to be 'Beauty and the Beast' as the song was from the 'Happily Ever After: Fairy Tales for every child' show where it took place in Africa which is why the song had been different than the songs in the Disney version of Beauty and the Beast, it was still fun though. "Any girl would love that performance." Anna replied with a laugh, Kex laughed along with her since he knew that she had enjoyed the song from the African version of 'Beauty and the Beast' unlike the their teacher had. "I haven't sang that song in a long time." Kex said as he got his laughter under control, Anna finally got her giggles out of her system as she calmed down. "It's been what? Two years?" Anna asked in wonder, the play had happened when they were only ten years old, so in Anna's head, that had been the right answer.

"Pretty much." Kex responded as they laid down again, the two watched the clouds a little longer. "Should we head back?" Anna asked Kex, he noticed that she was starting to sound sleepy, before he looked over at her. "I think we should before you fall asleep." Kex replied to his best friend, the walk back was long, but neither Kex or Anna cared since they talked about what had happened in the four weeks they'd been apart from each other before thinking about asking John if they could go to Waterfall City sometime in order to actually see the whole place while it's not being attacked, but that could wait. "Nap?" Kex asked Anna, he was now feeling sleepy like she was. "Sounds like a plan." Anna replied with a yawn, she and Kex had accidentally stayed up way too late the previous night, so they both needed a nap while the whole hatchery was quiet, and with that, the two best friends fell asleep in their nest shaped beds for an afternoon nap to make up for the lack of sleep.

The first chapter is done. Remember that this is the first of my one-shots, so don't worry if it's short.

Happily Ever After: Fairy Tales for every child, is a real cartoon, but it's not on t.v. anymore, and I don't own the song in this chapter since it's from the African version of Beauty and the Beast which is the episode from the show.
