It's only been a few days since Anna and Kex had returned to the hatchery with their adoptive family, but ever since they got back, Anna kept going up and waiting by the sunstone as she listened for something since the sunstones picked up the radio waves from the outside world. Anna's behavior was starting to worry John and 26, even though Kex had told them that what Anna was doing was normal for her, it only made John and 26 more worried that something was bothering Anna as they watched her while she put her ear against the sunstone again. "What're you doing?" 26 asked Anna, she and John wanted to know what was going on with her, so they could help her with whatever was upsetting her.

"I'm trying to listen for a specific song." Anna replied as she contracted on her task, John and 26 were still worried, but also confused. "A specific song?" John asked in confusion, he had to wonder why the song in question was so important that Anna had to listen to it again. "It was a song that showed me just how much hate my Mom had in her heart." Anna answered as she shook her head, John and 26 were surprised to hear that Anna remembered her mother. "I never forgot her. I was little when she abandoned me, but it's hard to forget her." Anna added on, she explained that the song her mother sang also helped make her famous in the outside world, and it was the only way that Anna could hear her mother's voice again. "Do you still love her?" 26 asked in confusion, 26 couldn't understand how Anna could still love the woman who had abandoned her just because she believed that Anna ruined her life. "I don't know." Anna answered truthfully, did Anna even still want to love the one who had left her in the orphanage after giving her a scar that was shaped like a broken heart, and just before John could say anything, music started to come through the sunstone. "This is it!" Anna said as the music started out softly, to John and 26, it seemed that the song was made for Anna and her mother as they watched as Anna began to sing only to imagine the scene before them.

[Play Love Ain't It from Descendants: The Rise of Red]

[Anna]

(Music)

I'm just a girl, arms open wide

Looking for kindness

Somewhere in your eyes

I'm looking for something I may never find

All I want is love

[Ms. Lafayette]

What you want doesn't exist

Love ain't it

[Anna]

You say, "Love ain't it"

It makes me weak

But how'd I know that if I ain't felt it yet?

You say, "Love ain't it"

And I wish I could compete

With all the grief that you've experienced

[Ms. Lafayette]

Love ain't it

And nothing's as sweet

As when you defeat all your enemies

I say, "Love ain't it"

And fear is more important if we're gonna rule

For centuries, oh-oh

[Guards and Ms. Lafayette]

Could it really be her?

They're saying there's no one worse

No one's as mean

Mean as the queen, mean as the queen

She's been gone for years

But now she's appeared, so hide under your beds

Under your beds (Alright, here we go)

Be careful of what you do

Be careful of what you say (That's right)

Or it'll be off with your head, off with your head

(Out of my way, pleebs)

Be careful where you go, don't make her upset

(Blah, blah, blah)

Or else, it'll be off with your head

(Music)

[Anna and Ms. Lafayette Speaking]

So, you knew her?

I saw through her, Cinderella and I were classmates

(No way)

I spent way too much time in this place

So, I had to escape (Okay)

The people here might smile

But they're two-faced and too fake

Wait, you went to Auradon Prep?

Nope, wasn't even called that yet

[Chloe and Cinderella Speaking]

Wow, that girl was super rude

What's her problem? What's her deal?

Some people act mean at first

'Cause they're too afraid to feel

It's survival, it's protection

That's why roses grow their thorns

Come on, whose side are you on?

The only one worse than her is her mom

Look, hon, back in high school

A mean prank was played

And ever since that fateful day

She was never quiet the same, it's a shame

What happened? Is it okay to ask?

We came to celebrate the future, sweetie

Not dwell on the past

[Ms. Lafayette]

Ha, ha, Stand aside the queen's arrived

Look at them, so innocent

Can't believe they let us in

Watch'em pay the consequence for being so

Dang insolent

Can't you smell their cowardice?

Soak it up, devour it

Treats are for the weak

Let me show you what real power is

Quick, Red, you gotta follow along

One day, you'll be on the throne

Automatic, just how I planned it

(Anna: What about what I want?)

They're gon' fall like parachutes

They're gon' crawl to me on all fours

(Anna: What did they ever do to you?)

Red, what are you arguing for?

I don't speak politician, I'm a queen

Your submission's what I need

On your knees, kneel to me

Royalty, you should listen,

Or you'll wind up in a prison

You'll be living in a dungeon underground

[Ms. Lafayette and All]

Love ain't it (Love)

Let me show you what (Ain't) real true power is (It)

It's when I say you only live if I let you live

And you should take what I give when I'm givin' it

And what I'm givin', love ain't it

Love ain't it (Love), love ain't it (Ain't)

Love ain't it, na-na-na

Love ain't it (Love), love ain't it (Ain't)

Love ain't it, oh, na-na (Love ain't it)

[Ms. Lafayette]

Look into the mirror, it's our destiny

Rule a million years with you right next to me

Swimming in their tears, won't they taste so sweet?

There's a new dawn in Auradon

I'm gonna take the crown and then put it on

I'm gonna take the crown and do what I want

You're gonna make me proud when you take that throne

[Ms. Lafayette]

Love ain't it, mm

Love ain't it.

At the end of the song, John and 26 saw that Anna was crying since the way Ms. Lafayette sang only proved to them that it was better for Anna to be away from her mother. "Anna?" John asked as he knelt down to her level, seeing that her adoptive father was still beside her, Anna threw herself into his arms as she cried. "Why didn't my mother love me?" Anna asked as tears fell, she knew the reason of course, but she wanted to hear someone else's thoughts on the matter. "You mother must've been in a state of mind where she thought love was for the weak." John answered honestly, 26 winced at hearing John's answer since that's probably not what Anna wanted to hear.

Before 26 could scold John for his answer, she noticed that Anna nodded in agreement. "I think you're right, and she still clearly thinks that." Anna replied to him, 26 quietly sighed in relief since she didn't want Anna to be mad at John. "At least you have us now." 26 said with a smile, she nudged Anna gently which got the crying girl to giggle lightly. "Is this what love is?" Anna asked softly, both John and 26 hugged Anna as they answered her question. "This is what family love is." Mara spoke up as she, Kex and Spazz joined the hug in order to make it a family hug. "We're a family now and forever!" 26 said with a big smile, everyone hugged one more time before heading back downstairs to have lunch, and the whole family worked on it together since it their way of spending time together!

Final chapter done! I don't own the song in this chapter, but I do own Ms. Lafayette. Please read and review, but no flames!
