Last time on RWBY X Meta Runner: Worlds Collide…
Separated from Ruby, Tari blamed herself for things going south. However, another Huntress came to her aid—Ruby's sister, Yang. As she brightened her mood and saw the positives, Ni-Treaux crashed the wholesome reunion by challenging Yang to a race. With the help of the newly found ally, Lie Ren, Yang bested the twisted machinist and spilled his secrets. Vekk-Torr was building a monstrous world-destroying machine known as a Doomlazer! If that wasn't enough, Ruby and Blake, who once were prisoners of Vekk-Torr, broke free from his control! But following their escape, the two bickered about Ruby's pride, despite it helping them land safely. Unbeknownst to them, their argument caught the attention of the Komodo Brothers.
What will the fallout of Ruby and Blake's partnership be? Stay tuned to find out!
Four out of five people will see at least one 'Hood Movie' in their lifetime. These films display commonplace problems of growing up in poverty, including gang violence, police brutality, institutional racism, teenage pregnancy, and junkie parents. All of them make the "Hood" a dangerous place to live.
This chapter of this particular fanfiction is NOT one of them, despite its name being a parody of one notable Hood Movie.
Mistral, Wind Path
17 days since The Onslaught
"If we were normal huntresses instead of freaks, we would have been in this mess!" Blake yelled, "Forget huntsmen and huntresses. The only thing stopping this Vekk-Torr thing is a group of superheroes!"
"Well, how come a bunch of rookie huntsmen and huntresses, some with superpowers, bested Braane-Strom and Vekk-Torr's forces?" Ruby retorted.
Suddenly, Ruby sensed movement coming near movement, thanks to her second Semblance, Enhanced Preflexes.
"You know what?" she said, "Let's finish this conversation somewhere else."
Ruby then grabbed Blake by the wrist and dragged her teammate far away from where they were. Soon, she brought her into an alleyway, hiding in darkness.
"What the hell was that?" Blake demanded.
"My second semblance," replied Ruby, "It made me sense danger before I expected it."
"Y-you're not normal." gasped Blake, "This isn't you!"
"I can explain everything," Ruby responded. "As we got covered by that mysterious techno-organic substance oozed out by the Grimm, it hardened and became a cocoon for our bodies. Soon after, our molecules were rearranged thanks to a Camylonian scientist named Fyuz-Elot, turning us from mere huntsmen and huntresses into super soldiers. But how we are now and how high the stakes are wasn't possible for one individual—Tari."
"Who are you talking about?" wondered Blake.
"She is a hero from another universe and the one who freed us from Vekk-Torr's clutches." answered Ruby, "She did so by escaping Beacon alongside her friend Theo, who entered that mad Camylonian's ship and escaped with us while we were in the cocoons."
"Wow, that's quite a tale," Blake remarked.
Suddenly, out of the shadows, a scaly hand covered Blake's mouth, and another grabbed her right wrist. And soon, the figure emerged as he placed a scimitar at Blake's throat. Ruby backed away from the foe, only to bump into the belly of the other. As she backed away as Komodo Moe walked toward her, she saw both Komodo Brothers corner her.
"Ssssssssso, what will it be, Missssssss Rosssssssse?" questioned Komodo Joe.
Ruby began to quiver in fear as she got cornered by both Moe and Joe.
"Ruby, save yourself!" Blake yelled before Joe covered her mouth, and Moe ran toward Ruby.
The latter Komodo Brotherthen leaped, hoping to pin Ruby; the Huntress saw an opening in her second semblance, Preflexes, and used Petal Burst to find the gap and escape their capture. Moe then flopped on the ground next to his brother. As he looked up to his brother, he gave a nervous chuckle.
"Chain her up. We have to find the other before it is too late," Joe said as he threw Blake to the ground.
"Precissssely," Moe replied as his brother tossed him a pair of energy cuffs.
Elsewhere, Ruby zoomed far away from the scene. As she hid in a different alleyway, she peeped her head out to ensure she was safe from harm. Looking to the right, Ruby saw the Komodo Bros drag Blake, who was in cuffs. To the left, she saw a dive bar across the street, as one Camylonian got thrown out of it. Ruby then pulled her hood up and headed toward the bar. As she entered it, she saw the high-tech and futuristic interior. Soon, a Camylonian then jumped in the way.
"Welcome to the Stinky Dragon Pub!" It greeted.
Ruby screamed and soon lost her balance and fell over. The Camylonian laughed and offered a hand up. The Camylonian, in particular, was a cyan humanoid lynx, lynx characteristics included. She wore a yellow sports bra with a navy blue crop top jacket with puffy sleeves on her chest, wrist-mounted weapons, denim blue trousers fastened by a black belt with a belt buckle of a cloud with lightning bolts behind it akin to crossbones, and white combat boots. As Ruby grabbed her arm, the figure pulled her up.
"The name's Volts-D'Ganis, but call me Volts for short. You must be the kid the rest of the Knights have gotten word of." She said.
"Ruby Rose." Ruby replied, "And I am not the only one."
"We know. You and your cronies are making a ruckus here in Remnant." Volts praised, "But you are not alone."
"How do you know?" Ruby asked.
"I heard of a blonde kid rocking a guitar better than Rock-Skar can." Volts answered, "I think his name was 'John' or something."
"It's Jaune." Ruby corrected, "Jaune Arc, spelled J-A-U-N-E."
"Oh, okay," Volts noted, "Thanks for the chat. Here's a token of my appreciation."
Soon, she gave Ruby a copper and nickel coin the size of a United States quarter. One side had Vekk-Torr's symbol, and the other had a portrait shot of Vekk-Torr's head with the phrase 'Cognize Vekk-Torr or Run' engraved at the bottom.
"What is this?" Ruby pondered.
"Hope." As she headed to the door, Volts answered, "Or a little bite to eat. Good luck on your journey."
As she exited the pub, Ruby turned around and walked further into it, only to see it filled with lifeforms of varying sizes and shapes. As she walked toward an empty table, a Barinian bumped into her. His body was similar to Gill Grunt's, but his face was humanoid, as close as Barinians can get, with a fin on top and a chin akin to an Asian sheepshead wrasse. His scales were cerulean with a pale green underbelly, and he wore a light blue, black, and purple camouflage military combat uniform with neon purple body armor and shoulder armor. On the shoulder armor is a symbol of a volcano in white on it.
"Watch it, bastitch," he warned the Huntress.
"Hey, this is my first time here!" she retorted.
The Barinian turned around, and the two made eye contact.
"Well, welcome aboard." He taunted.
Ruby then bolted to him, and the figure turned around. As he did so, she delivered a punch to him, knocking him to the ground like he got knocked out. Silence fell throughout the pub as the attack happened.
"Heh, nice punch." he complimented as he slowly got up, "Perhaps we can settle it over some knuckle sandwiches, but I digress. If you want to talk to me, I am at table 137."
The figure then walked away to his table, only for Ruby to holler a question to him.
"Hey, sir!" she shouted, catching the attention of the Barinian, "What's your name?"
"Roderick." responded the Barinian, "Roderick Tyde."
Ruby paused as Roderick walked to his table, only for a brown humanoid scorpion to stand beside her. Said figure stood four feet and eight inches, had a tan face, green eyes, chartreuse gems in his claws, and donned a silver helmet.
"Man, that dude does not find a way to fight back." he said, "Say, how about you come hang with us? We got an all-you-can-eat appetizer plate at our table to lighten the mood. It's got chicken wings, onion rings, cheese sticks, fried mushrooms, mini garlic parmesan pretzel dogs, quesadillas, potstickers…"
"Sorry, I have to go." Ruby interrupted.
"Okay, okay. I know you are in a rush, Senorita. But if you want to talk partnership, I am at table 142." The scorpion informed, "Oh, the name's Scorpios Waxahachie; colleagues call me Scorp."
The scorpion then walked away to his table, only for the bartender to take notice of her.
"Hey," the Camylonian working the bar shouted, "Are you going to take a seat?"
"I… I am new here." Ruby responded.
"Well, I will help you. This place is a speakeasy for the universe's most homicidal, suicidal, genocidal individuals." began the bartender, "This is one of the locations across the cosmos. You can also find us in Def'Gull Keep on Wastyxx, New Stink City on Gasmoxia, and Las Vegas on Earth. You can order food here by exchanging your currency for VekkCoins or win some in the slot machine."
"On that last one," Ruby interrupted, "Where can I find one?"
The bartender then pointed to his left, and Ruby looked at what he was talking about.
"Thanks!" she smiled before bolting off using her Semblance, Petal Burst.
When she arrived at the slot machine and came across it, she inserted the VekkCoin in the slot and pulled the lever to activate it. Ruby watched as the three wheels began to spin, hoping she didn't have Qrow's Semblance as a part of her new body. Soon, the three wheels immediately stopped at the purple sevens, and an avalanche of VekkCoins poured into a steel pail. Once the machine filled the bucket, which was the size of a Beowolf's head, three-quarters to the top, Ruby picked it up and carried it to wherever she was going. At Roderick's table, he was conversing with a crimson humanoid crab, with its face on its torso similar to Xing Tian, with big blue eyes and sharp teeth.
"You have to admit, Whalter." Roderick nodded. She was someone friendly to talk to."
"Isn't that what you said about your lover?" the crab, named Whalter, questioned, "The guy you said was 'pals for life'? Well, since he fell to those Terrathean scum, you were hellbent on killing the one who shot him."
Soon, Ruby approached them and placed the pail of quarters on the table.
"May I help you, ma'am, or are you lost?" Whalter asked.
"I am asking if I can sit next to you guys," Ruby replied, "And Roderick, who is this guy?"
"The name's Whalter Cornelius Clamshell." greeted Whalter, "And it seems you have met my colleague, Roderick Tide. He goes by 'Rip' sometimes."
"Obviously," Roderick muttered.
"Hey, if you want to sit with us, that's fine." Whalter said, "We are not cheap if you want my services. You gotta pay me 200 VekkCoins, while Mr. Gay Fish is worth 180."
Roderick then pulled out a high-tech knife and pointed at Whalter.
"Watch your mouth, chumpass." Roderick retaliated.
"Guys, guys, calm down." Ruby interjected, "I just won the jackpot from a slot machine, and I also earned a lot of VekkCoins while I was here."
The two Barinians then took the pail and examined the number of coins in it. As they counted the coins Ruby required to hire them, they realized they were one-third through the collected coins. Amazed, they placed the coins in their bucket.
"Now that we are on your side, what's your plan?" Roderick questioned the Huntress.
"Something is going on in Mistral, and I need to rendezvous with the rest of my team." Ruby stated, "But we need to find a good rendezvous point."
Silence fell across the table, and soon, the two Barinians huddled to discuss Ruby's offer.
"I see this as an absolute win," Roderick whispered.
"Agreed, perhaps we should take a vessel to this place—yours," Whalter added.
"What about Gill?" Roderick attested, "We should also find him and bring him to justice."
"That's a win-win." addressed Whalter, "We join Ruby, find Gill, and bring that crook to justice."
The two then turned to Ruby and prepared a reply.
"We will happily take you there." Roderick replied, "Working with your crew will be an honor."
"On one condition," interrupted Whalter, "You help apprehend a rouge criminal. Gillbert Angelo Grunt."
Ruby paused and pondered about the events at Menagerie while Roderick presented a wanted poster with Gill's face to her.
"Wait," she thought, "The Fishman who attacked us and then helped us with Blake is the same guy with Masa after Rock-Skar separated us? This cannot be right. Huntsmen and Huntresses are on the side of good, not evil! Even if he helped us with Blake, he will face justice, no matter the cost."
Ruby then sighed, ready for the deal to be signed
"Sure," she responded.
As Ruby reached her hand to Roderick's, preparing to shake it, Scorpios walked by their table. Seeing this, he stopped and prepared to
"Hey, Pit Boss! You know that human that I met earlier?" he hollered, "She's nothing but a yellow-bellied bitch!"
Soon, the holler got the attention of the other individual at his table, and he headed toward where Ruby was. The individual was serpent-like, with humanoid arms, aquamarine scales, and white eyes. He wore a black robe with gold trim, gold sash, black braces with gold on his wrists, and a black 'ponytail' on the top of the hood fastened by a gold bracer at the top. His weapon of choice was a golden scepter with an emerald in the middle.
"We saved a few ssssnacksss once you came to ussss, but I digresssss." he sneered.
As he looked into Ruby's eyes, he saw her nervousness. Ruby then pushed the bucket towards him, only for him to see his eyes break eye contact with her. As he looked from the pail to Ruby, he gave in, took it, and slithered back to his table.
"Rochester Camacho, it's a pleasssure to do busssinessss with you." he praised.
The three paused as the duo returned to their table. Shocked, Ruby, Roderick, and Whalter then followed suit. As they returned to their table, Rochester and Scorpios sat back down and prepared to continue their meal. The trio saw this and stormed to their table. Ruby then got into the face of Rochester.
"You took something that belongs to me." Ruby bellowed, "And I know you didn't win it, Pit Boss."
Nervous, Rochester slithered under the table but only to see the legs of Roderick and Whalter. Scorpios nodded no to his cowardice as he emerged from under the table.
"Sssssso," he nervously chuckled, "What do you guysssssss want to talk about?"
Ruby then delivered a right hook, knocking him out.
A few moments later
Rochester woke up, still feeling the aftermath of Ruby's punch. As his eyes open, he sees Scorpios, Roderick, Whalter, and Ruby walk around upside down on the deck of a Barinian spacecraft.
"Wow, I've never felt a punch so hard since… since… I forgot." he groaned.
Whalter and Roderick then walked up to him.
"Good morning, Sleeping Beauty," he said.
"Wait, what the hell are we doing on this ship?" Rochester questioned
"This ship you speak of is my vessel—Echo Serenity." replied Roderick, "And she's a beauty. Armed to the teeth with harpoon laser cannons, heat-seeking missiles, sonar AND radar tracking systems, and its specialty, a built-in hologram TV with access to all streaming services across the cosmos! That means we can watch anything we want!"
"Wait a minute, did you just say anything?" Rochester questioned.
"Yes, anything," replied Roderick.
"Guys!" Ruby hollered, "Now is not the time to bicker and make references to some crappy movie; we have to find Blake!"
"She's right, you know." Scorpios acknowledged, "We have to find Blake."
"But how do we find her in the first place?" Whalter demanded.
Ruby revealed her Scroll and pulled it to the four of them.
She explained, "This device is similar to a phone across your world, and it can track my teammate's location."
"Everyone knows what a GPS is, Ruby." Whalter interrupted, "Anyways, this ship here has one in it. Once connected to this ship's Bluetooth, it'll—"
Ruby raised her hand, silencing everyone, then connected her Scroll to Bluetooth. As she did that, she was ready to call Blake.
"Go time," Roderick smirked.
Ruby called Blake, and the ship's GPS soon pinpointed the latter's location.
"What do we got, Rip?" Whalter bespoke.
The group then sees the map of Mistral on the windshield, and as the ship's computer zooms in on Higanbana more and more, it pinpoints Blake's location.
"Northwest," Roderick informed. "Higanbana, not too far from Mistral City."
"Then, that is where we are off to." Ruby said, "Everyone, buckle up. We got a party to crash."
As everyone ran to the control deck and sat down, Roderick controlled the ship, making it start to lift off. The vessel is the size of a standard jet airliner and has four VTOL jet engines, two on each side, one near the cockpit and the other at the tail end. The ship's hull is cyan, silver, and black, with a wingspan measuring up to fifty meters. It has elements of an Atlantic blue marlin, including a point at the front of the vessel used for ramming and a large crested dorsal fin that serves as an antenna. As it took off, Ruby looked at the hometown of Roman Torchwick in awe. Despite its run-down looks, it was a marvel to look from above.
Higanbana
Meanwhile, in Higanbana, Blake was trapped inside a cage and trying to break free. As Rock-Skar approached it, he saw the struggling huntress and leaned toward her.
"Well, aren't you an egg-nor-a-moose?" He smirked.
"It's ignoramus, you dolt!" Blake hissed.
"Hey! No one tells Metalhead what to do!" a voice yelled.
Rock-Skar and Blake turned to the individual who said that. As it walked toward them, her features began illuminating in the moonlight. The individual was a Caucasian woman in her early 20s who was a Meta Runner, similar to Tari, Lamar, and Belle, whose Meta Runner arm is on her right arm. She had long, bright pink hair, pink eyebrows, and green eyes with a metal plate and wires attached to the left side of her head and left eye. She also has an open cut on her eyelid that seems to be purple and infected and another cut under her left eye. Her signature outfit was a black and grey overall dress with white stockings and white Mary Janes. Her clothes have lights on that change depending on her mood. As she approached the caged Faunus, she smirked at the sight.
"Well, look what the robotic cat dragged in," she said, "A sheep lost from her flock."
Blake then gasped at the sight of her.
"Who are you?" she gasped.
"It seems we have never met," the Meta Runner replied, "I am Evelyn Claythorne, Lord Vekk-Torr's new enforcer."
"New enforcer, huh?" Blake bellowed, "You look like an Internet troll, especially one who hates animation."
"Silence!" Evelyn responded, "And yes, animation is a complex medium to master, and people who do that for a living should be credited, respected, and acknowledged more often."
"True dat!" Rock-Skar nodded.
"Anyways, back to the topic at hand." Evelyn resumed, "Ever since the last one turned on him, you know, the blonde who was the brawn of your team back at Beacon, who went down a dark path."
"Yang?!" Blake shouted.
Evelyn paused and looked at Blake as she answered.
"That's her name, huh? Thanks for the tip." the Meta Runner resumed, "With a name like that, she must consist of sugar, spice, and everything nice. Ever since 'Yang' turned on Lord Vekk-Torr, I—"
Suddenly, a blur of red rushed in and knocked Rock-Skar to the ground. It then opened the lock on the cage and freed Blake from captivity. As she stepped out of it, she ran toward Evelyn and punched her, knocking her out.
"Hey, where do you think you are going?" yelled Rock-Skar.
Suddenly, the red blur knocked Rock-Skar into the air.
"I know it was you!" Blake smiled.
The red blur revealed itself as the trio of Ruby, Whalter, and Scorp.
"And who are these two?" she asked.
"No time to explain," Ruby replied, "Whalter, make sure Rock-Skar's face is ready to brace for the mace. Scorp, keep that Weiss wannabe pinned down. I'll escort Blake to the ship!"
Whalter and Scorp nodded to Ruby and rushed to their respective targets while Ruby and Blake ran to the rendezvous point. As Whalter approached Rock-Skar, the two started to clash with their weapons. For Whalter, it was a mace passed down for generations, and for Rock-Skar, it was his signature guitar ax.
"For someone who IS a seafood platter, you do put up a good fight." Rock-Skar complimented.
"And I, you, Rock-Skar," smirked Whalter, "Remicient of an old rival on Terrathea."
"Why, thank you." complimented the general.
Whalter broke the stalemate by thrusting his body weight toward the general, making him lose his balance. He then delivered a blow to Rock-Skar's midsection and a roundhouse kick to his head, knocking him out. Meanwhile, Scorp cornered Evelyn. He lunged his tail at her Meta Runner arm, damaging her wrist. As she screamed in pain, she swept the Wastyxxan's legs and tripped him. As Whalter heard the scream, he bolted toward Ruby and Blake, with Scorp following suit.
"This rescue plan is going so smoothly!" Scorp complimented. What could possibly go wrong?"
Well, now that you mention it.
Elsewhere, the duo of huntresses was approaching Echo Serenity.
"Come on, Blake! We are almost there!" Ruby cheered.
"Well, there's a problem!" informed Blake.
"She's not wrong," Roderick acknowledged on the comms, "On your left!"
As the duo looked to their left, they saw scimitars thrown at them and jumped out of the way, only for the Komodo Brothers to leap onto the scene ready to fight.
"You aren't going anywhere." Komodo Moe snarled and readied his scimitars.
As Joe readied his scimitars, Ruby and Blake prepared their weapons. Soon, the four circled like MMA fighters clockwise, with Ruby focusing on Joe and Blake on Moe. Joe made the first move as he charged toward Ruby, and she retaliated with a swift knee to the groin of her opponent. Ruby then threw him on the ground, only for him to land a quick kick to the stomach. Blake then turned around and fired at Joe, forcing him to a tactical retreat from enemy fire. As the two huntresses stood shoulder to shoulder, they switched opponents.
"Ruby, you should have been back at the ship by now," Roderick hollered in the comms. What the hell is going on?"
"It's Blake's captors," Ruby responded as Crescent Rose clashed with Moe's scimitars, "There were more of them!"
"Hold on, kid, we are on the way!" Scorp hollered on the comms.
As Blake landed a kick to the midsection of Joe, Whalter and Scorp ran to the scene. Seeing the conflict, Whalter leaped and slammed his mace on Joe's foot. Feeling the pain of the attack, the Komodo Brother hopped and clenched his foot. Seeing this as a moment of opportunity, Blake delivered a flat-footed kick to Joe's chin before retreating to the ship.
"Reptilion scum." Whalter mocked.
Meanwhile, as Moe and Ruby were engaged in combat, the two jumped to the top of an oil tanker. As Moe grabbed Crescent Rose by the scythe blade, Ruby tugged it back and pointed the gun barrel at his face. He chuckled and shoved the weapon toward her foe, making her lose balance and focus. Soon, Moe gave a shoulder tackle and threw a pair of scimitars at her. Ruby then jumped over them and hurled them back at Moe using the electromagnet in her prosthetic arm. Seeing this, Moe pulled out another scimitar and parried the ones thrown at him. As one landed on the oil tanker, it started to leak out said fluid, and soon, Joe, Whalter, and Scorp were still battling it. But as the trio began to slip and tried to maintain their balance on the oil, the Komodo Brother slipped and landed on his ass. Still sliding on his behind and spinning clockwise, Joe saw his brother still battling Ruby. He constantly slipped and fell as he tried to get up, leaving an opening for his opponents. Seeing their attacks, Joe delivered a split kick to both of them. As he landed, he spun around the oil like an ice skater and soon jumped and splashed oil in the faces of his foes.
"Aah!" shouted Scorp, "I can't see!"
"You tell me!" retorted Whalter as he spat out the substance, "We must halt his progress or die trying."
Back atop the tanker, Moe and Ruby were still clashing atop it.
"You mussst be sssome kind of a dumbasss coming here." Moe hissed as they reached a standstill.
"Likewise," smirked the huntress, "But why are you here? Are you in cahoots with Vekk-Torr?"
Moe growled and thrust his weight toward his opponent. As she lost her footing, Moe charged and delivered a shoulder tackle, knocking her to the ground. As she landed on her feet, she saw Moe jump from the top and perform a dive kick. Taking the blow of it, Ruby regained her balance on the oil. Moe then threw scimitars at his foe rapidly, leading to Ruby dodging them swiftly with her semblance. Soon, she jumped on top of one of the handles of the thrown weapons and taunted Moe by blowing a raspberry. Seeing this, Joe sprinted toward her and prepared to strike Ruby in the ankle. Ruby retaliated by stomping on his head, kicking him in the back, and knocking him flat on the ground. Seeing this, Scorp came to Ruby's aid and threw a scimitar planted in the ground back at Moe, driving it in his left shoulder as he screamed in pain and clutched the wound he received. Soon, he fell to the ground, and Joe got up and approached Ruby, only to be met with the blunt end of Crescent Rose and thrown toward his brother by Scorp. As their two bodies collided, Ruby fired a round at the oil and gathered the unconscious Whalter, and the three heroes escaped the blaze. Then, an explosion occurred as the flames approached the tanker, sending the Reptilions sky high. On the Echo Serenity, Pit Boss and Roderick analyzed Blake at the ship's medbay.
"Lisssten, Roderieck." Pit Boss said, "What is the deal with thisss casssstaway?"
"No need to get your scales of justice out of balance, Chester. She is a friend of Ruby." Roderick responded.
"True." Pit Boss acknowledged, "But what isssssshe?"
"A faunus." Roderick answered, "They're common here."
Suddenly, the trio entered the ship and headed toward the medbay. As the trio entered the room, Roderick turned around and saw the group face to face.
"About time you caught up." he greeted, "Any secrets you were hiding from us?"
"Well, it's my first time telling Blake this, not to mention all of you as well." She replied, "Blake and I… are Distortions."
"What?!" Scorp gasped.
"The hell are you saying?" Pit Boss spouted.
"Ruby, explain yourself!" Blake bellowed.
"Before the two of us are in our current state, Blake and I were once normal Huntresses from Beacon." Ruby sighed. "That was until Vekk-Torr invaded our world and concealed us in cocoons made of Grimm liquid and whatever he was cooking. Since then, we were rescued by Tari, a hero from another world, but separated."
"Damn, nice tale, but we need to get going. Vekk-Torr's forces won't be far behind." Roderick interrupted.
Soon, the six then headed to the front of the ship, and soon, the Echo Serenity took off. But as it left, a vehicle of unknown origin arrived at the site of the battle.
"General Ironwood," it said, "We have found them, and they are not alone."
With the duo of Huntresses reunited and back on track with the agenda, what is next for Ruby and Blake?
"Forgetting someone?" Yang proclaimed.
"Yeah!" Tari agreed.
Whoops!
When will the rest of the Meta Hunters catch up to the duo?
"Hey, what about us?!" Gill shouted.
Oh. Right.
And what is Gill Grunt up to?
As the narrator finished reading the last question, Tri-El and Err-Yr jumped the narrator.
Be here when—wait, what the–
As he tried to fight off the Camylonians, he got knocked out by a frying pan swung by Err-Yr.
"Great, now we will never spill his secrets." Tri-El said, "What do we do now?"
"How about we take over the story and tell the story from our perspectives?" suggested Err-Yr.
"That works for me." Tri-El acknowledged.
"And for you folks at home, I hope you are ready for what we have in store in Chapter 17!" said Err-Yr.
"Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait. Seventeen? Chapter seventeen?" ranted Tri-El, "Someone's occupied that chapter! Not to mention that the next two are focusing on someone else but us, Lord Vekk-Torr, and those pestilent Meta Hunters! So when's our chapter coming in?"
"Right in the middle," answered Err-Yr.
"What do you mean 'right in the—oh. A backstage sequel." realized Tri-El.
"Correct!" cheered Err-Yr. Perhaps we should call the next chapter 'Chapter 16 ½: Tri-El and Err-Yr and… uh…"
"The Shoe-In Chapter Made on Drugs?" Tri-El suggested.
"That'll work." Err-Yr acknowledged, "It's time someone told our story."
