AN: FINALLY! I am so, so, so sorry this chapter took so long. It just kept getting pushed back.

Chapter 07: The Rating Game

May 16th, 2012

Gremory Mansion, Japan

A week had passed since their training began. Only three days remained until the Rating Game, and the results of everyone's training were beginning to show. Issei had improved the most, having leveled an entire mountainside during a sparring match with Kiba, Asia's magic training had almost put her at Akeno's level while she managed to get the basics behind the self-defense techniques Iroh taught her, and Koh was mastering the basics of the Asahiko-ryū. Himari was also quickly mastering her Sacred Gear.

Kiba managed to become faster and less predictable in his movements with fewer openings. He was also doing some defensive training with a little help from Koneko. Speaking of Koneko, she managed to become more agile despite being a Rook (though Akeno and Anne had teased it was because Mako was chasing her), and she learned to incorporate a few martial arts techniques into her attacks. Akeno experimented with her lightning more and also took part in physical training once every often. And Rias managed to develop more efficient and creative ways to use her Power of Destruction.

Night had fallen and most of the others had gone to bed. Koh was one of the few still up, wearing a light orange shirt and white sweat shorts, sitting in the living room drawing in his notebook. He hadn't had much time during the week to draw and, even though it was getting late, was making up for lost time.

"Still up, Hinode?" Akeno asked as she walked up.

Stopping for a moment, Koh looked up to answer her… only to blush at the fact that Akeno had her hair down from its usual ponytail and was wearing a short white bathrobe that went down only to her thighs. "Uh… Yeah…" he choked out.

Akeno giggled at his reaction before leaning over to get a better look at what Koh was drawing. It was her in her miko attire, Tsubaki with her naginata, Himari with her Sacred Gear active, along with a Xuelan, fighting the hand stray devil.

"Oh my, this is impressive," Akeno smirked. "You're quite skilled, Hinode."

"So I've been told."

"Oh, you're both still up?" Asia asked as entered the living room.

"We could ask the same of you," Koh closed his notebook as he stood up.

"Oh, well I promise Issei to help with his 'ultimate move'," Asia answered. "He's been working on it all week."

"All week?" Koh questioned when a thought struck him. "Does this have something to do with why he was so excited to learn how to peel potatoes?"

Asia nodded as she headed outside.

"…I feel I might regret this, but we better see what this 'ultimate move' is," Koh sighed as he followed Asia.

"This should be interesting to see," Akeno giggled.

"You ready, Asia?" Issei asked, the two a bit into the woods.

"Ready as I can be," Asia nodded.

"Okay, here we go. Dress Break!" With a snap of his fingers, Asia's clothes were suddenly blown away, leaving her in her undergarments.

Asia screamed as she covered herself, but still smiled at Issei. "Y-You did it!"

"Yeah," Issei nodded. 'Still, it doesn't seem complete yet,' he thought.

"I… was not prepared for that."

Blinking, Asia and Issei turned to see that Koh and Akeno were a few feet away.

"Akeno-senpai! Hinode! When did you get here?!" Issei asked.

"Right before you did that Dress Break," Akeno answered, more amused than anything. "It's certainly an interesting technique, wouldn't you agree Hinode?"

"…I don't know what I'm more shocked by. The fact you can now strip any girl of their clothes with a single touch, or the fact Argento is willingly letting you practice this on her." Koh deadpanned.

"Call it what you will, but I'm so close to perfecting it!" Issei declared.

'Oh boy…'

"It may be good as it is."

Blinking, the four turned to see Iroh walking up to them.

"Uncle?! When did you get here?" Koh asked.

"What do you mean it's good already?" Issei asked.

"This… Dress Break shouldn't be too extreme," Iroh said, ignoring Koh's question. "After all, leaving the underwear intact will make sure that you won't be banned from using it in the future. Not to mention there's always the chance one's undergarments will… add to their figure."

Koh stared at his uncle like he had grown a second head while Issei… smiled. "You're right! Naked boobs are great, but the right bra can make them amazing!"

"Oh my god…" Koh groaned in embarrassment. Akeno simply giggled while Asia was muttering about acquiring new underwear.

Iroh had Koh meditate again, this time joined by Issei and Rias. "…I think my leg's fallen asleep," Issei muttered.

*Bam! Bam! Bam!*

"OW! Really?!" Issei rubbed the sport on his head where Iroh hit along with Rias and Koh.

"You must focus if you are to make any progress, Hyoudou," Iroh simply said.

"Then why did we get hit?" Koh asked.

"Your breathing is improving, Koh, but you were out of sync," Iroh answered before he pointed at Rias. "And you are too impulsive to focus properly."

"I am not impulsive," Rias pouted.

"When we first started, you attacked me with your demonic power during our spar," Iroh reminded the redhead.

Rias had the decency to not give a response, only responding with a blush and letting out a huff.

"You care for your servants, which is good, but it also means that your enemies can take advantage of your feelings for them. Even if that wasn't an issue, I've noticed that you and your servants tend to rely on brute power. Were you all simply planning to overwhelm your problems with sheer power and luck?" Iroh asked her. "That may have worked for you before, but it won't work forever."

Rias grumbled something incoherent.

"…How is meditation going to help us?" Issei asked.

"Meditation teaches us calm, focus, how to harmonize the wild energies and emotions burning within us and to focus them into productive acts," Iroh explained.

"All I can focus on is boobs," Issei grumbled.

Rias shook her head while Koh facepalmed.

"Believe it not, Hyoudou, but some of the Hinode clan had a similar problem," Iroh said.

"Wait, what?" Issei blinked.

"What?!" Koh exclaimed while Rias stared at Iroh.

"Teru Hinode was quite the flirt in his youth. And I was a bit of a skirt chaser myself. And don't even get me started on what antics my brother got up to when it came to the opposite sex," Iroh laughed. "Those were the days."

"You gotta be kidding me…" Koh moaned, looking mentally exhausted at that.

Iroh gave an amused smile as he pulled out his pocket watch to check the time. "I believe that's enough meditation for today."

Issei groaned as he got up, still not used to meditating yet. "About time. My legs nearly fell asleep. We're gonna meet up with Kiba next, right Hinode?"

"Yeah, along with Himejima," Koh nodded.

"And I need to check on Asia," Rias added.

"Before you leave, I wish to speak with Hyoudou for a moment," Iroh said.

"Me?"

"It won't take long."

Nodding, Issei stayed as Rias and Koh left. "Did I do something wrong?"

"No, I'm just curious about something," Iroh offered Issei a cup of tea. "What is your goal?"

"Where did you…?" Issei tried to question but stopped himself. "Never mind. And my goal?" Issei accepted Iroh's tea and took a sip. "Well, I want to become harem king!"

"I see," Iroh nodded, his expression unchanging. "And before coming Rias' servant, how did you plan to become harem king?"

"Huh?" Issei blinked. He tried to come up with an answer, but couldn't. Issei wasn't sure how he would've achieved that goal before, especially since most girls at school avoided him like the plague. "I… I don't know. I never really thought about it before I became a devil."

Iroh hummed in thought. "Well, you're certainly further along than Koh."

"What do you mean?" Issei asked.

"My nephew does not have a goal in mind. He's unsure of what he wants to do," Iroh explained.

"Really?"

Iroh smiled as he sipped his own cup of tea. "You have a goal you wish to achieve, while Koh lacks a goal of any kind. That is one of the differences between you. Yet I can tell you both are also very similar."

"We are?"

"You're both kind and compassionate individuals who wish to help others," Iroh placed a hand on Issei's shoulder. "He may not show it, but my nephew does see that in you, Hyoudou. Which is why I'm asking you to be there for him, just as he'll be there for you and the others for the Rating Game."

Issei stared at Iroh for a moment before nodding. "Sure thing."

Gremory Mansion Grounds, Japan

It was the night before the last day of training. When morning comes, they'll leave the large house and return to Kuoh to prepare for the Rating Game against Riser. Koh was unable to sleep due to a mixture of anticipation and anxiety for the impending match, so he was once again in the kitchen, drawing in his notebook. It always calmed his nerves.

"Can't sleep, Koh-kun?"

Looking up from his drawing, Koh saw Anne approach, wearing red blouse-like pajamas, Mako walking next to her.

"No," Koh confirmed. Mako jumped up onto Koh's leg, earning a pat. "Why are you still up, though?"

"I guess I'm nervous about you being in a Rating Game," Anne replied. "I've heard that they can get rather… intense. Are you sure you can handle it?"

Koh wasn't sure how to answer. There was no doubt that Xuelan would be gunning for him, and he was still getting used to using the Asahiko-ryū's techniques. And that's not counting the rest of Riser's peerage. "I'll be as ready as I'll ever be."

Anne was still worried. "Just promise you'll be okay. Himari would be devastated if anything happened to you. And…" the dhampir suddenly leaped forward and hugged Koh tightly, to his surprise. "I don't want to lose you like how we lost Sayo."

Koh returned the hug. "I'll be okay. I promise."

May 19, 2012

Kuoh Academy ORC clubroom, Japan

Today was the day of the Rating Game against Riser. It was Saturday so classes ended early, which gave everyone time to rest for the game. The stroke of midnight approached slowly as Koh, Coronamon, Himari, and Anne, the latter two being spectators for the Rating Game, entered the clubroom, finding that most of the others were already present, the only ones missing being Issei and Asia, though it wasn't long before they arrived also.

"Everyone's here, good," Rias said, setting her teacup down.

"Hold on, where's your uncle, Hinode?" Issei asked.

"Something came up and he had to stay at home for a bit longer," Koh explained. "He told us to go on ahead and that he'll be here soon."

Then, the club door opened as Sona, Tsubaki, Saji, Kaho, and Lalamon entered.

"Sorry if we're interrupting," Sona said.

"No, please, come on in, Sona," Rias said.

"I'm glad you could make it," Akeno greeted.

"Kaho-chan?" Himari questioned.

"She begged to watch with us to cheer you on," Saji explained.

"Is everything ready for the broadcast?" Rias inquired, turning in her chair to look directly at her childhood friend.

"That's correct. Once it has begun, the Satans and the involved households will be able to spectate without problem." Sona confirmed, glancing around the room. "Are you ready for your match?"

"As ready as I can be, same for my peerage," Rias affirmed with a small smirk. "I'll try to make things interesting for everyone watching."

Then, a white magic circle appeared, and Grayfia emerged from it. Surprisingly, Iroh emerged with her. "It's almost time. I hope you're ready for this, my lady."

"Yes. We're ready whenever you are," Rias replied, though she didn't hide her surprise at seeing Iroh emerge from the magic circle with Grayfia.

"Uncle?!" Koh gasped. "Why are you with her?"

"Just needed to sort out a few new… additions to the Rating Game is all," Iroh explained.

'I wonder what that's about?' Rias thought to herself.

Grayfia took out a clear crystal case containing an Evil Piece inside. "Here is your Substitute Piece. All you have to do is charge it with a small amount of your power, then give it to the person of your choice."

"I understand," Rias then looked to Koh and asked, "Did you decide which piece you'll be?"

"I think I'll go with Rook," Koh answered.

Nodding, Rias sent a bit of her magic into the Evil Piece, turning it into a Rook Piece as it started glowing red. "Here."

Koh received the Piece before pressing it into his chest, causing it to be absorbed into his body.

"It's done. Koh-sama is now your Substitute Rook for the duration of the Rating Game," Grayfia informed.

"I don't feel any different," Koh said while checking himself over.

"In time, you will feel its effect," Grayfia assured before turning back to Rias. "In a few moments, we'll use this magic circle to transport you and the rest of your team to the battlefield."

"And where exactly is the battlefield?" Koh asked.

"In a neutral alternate space created just for the game. Because it's not real, we have full license to do some damage, even burn it to the ground if we want," Akeno replied with a sadistic chuckle.

"Oh, I like the sound of that!" Coronamon grinned, stars in his eyes.

"No arson!" Koh stated.

"Aw."

"Still, that does sound convenient," Koh said. 'Wish I had something like that when dealing with some strong Digimon.'

"We'll be in the Student Council room," Sona said.

"We'll be cheering you on," Tsubaki added.

"Good luck, guys," Saji said.

"Thanks a lot," Issei smiled.

"If I was a betting girl, I'd say you're going to beat that scumbag seven ways from Sunday," Anne added before taking her leave.

"I'm rooting for you and everyone, Koh-kun. I know you'll win!" Himari said.

"Best of luck, nephew," Iroh smiled.

"Yeah, thanks for your support, Anne, Himari, uncle," Koh thanked. Anne and Himari smiled before heading out with the others.

"Representatives from the Houses of Gremory and Phenex will be watching this game via live broadcast," Grayfia stated. "Also, the Great Satan Lucifer will be observing. Do keep that in mind."

Rias seemed shocked by this information. "Big Brother? I see, so he'll be there, too…"

"Buchou, d-did you just call the Gr-Great Satan 'Big Brother'?" Issei asked.

"She did," Yuuto answered him. "Buchou's brother is one of the Four Great Satans. He and the other three became the current rulers of the Underworld after the original Satans died in the Great War. He and the other Satans led us through a dark time, saving the Devil race from ruin. But by receiving the title of Lucifer, he forfeited his Gremory name."

"So it's more like a title," Koh noted.

"That explains why Rias is the next heir to the House of Gremory," Asia said.

"It's about time," Grayfia spoke up. "Everyone, please step inside the magic circle." Everyone but Grayfia gathered in the magic circle. "Once you have transported to the arena, you will not be able to return until the game is over." The magic circle changed to an unfamiliar symbol and emitted light, enveloping everyone participating in the match.

In the student council room, Sona and her Queen, Tsubaki Shinra, had set up a magic projection to display the Rating Game between Rias Gremory and Riser Phenex. "It'll begin soon," Sona hummed.

"I'm so anxious," Kaho muttered, sitting next to her brother with Lalamon next to her. "I hope Hinode-san and everyone else will be okay."

"They'll be fine," Saji said reassuringly. "They got this!"

"I'm sure they will win," Reya added.

"They've got this in the bag! There's no way they'll lose!" Tomoe shouted.

"It's nice to see you all being so supportive of Rias and her peerage." A new voice suddenly said.

Everyone paused at the sound of the adult voice, while Sona practically flinched. Everyone's eyes were drawn to the voice.

Standing in the open space of the room under a dimming magic circle was a handsome man in his early 20s with short shoulder-length crimson hair and cyan eyes, making him strongly resemble Rias. He was dressed in an elaborate silver and gray robe with large, ornate gold spaulders stretching out like eight wings.

"Si-Sirzechs!" Sona stuttered. "What are you doing here?"

"I came to cheer for my sister, of course," Sirzechs replied. "And what better way to do so than with her friends? Sadly, Grayfia will be acting as the Rating Game's referee so she won't be joining us."

"I… I see," Sona muttered. She then noticed that Iroh didn't seem as surprised as everyone else. "Did you know he would come here?"

"He may have mentioned it when we were discussing the details of Koh's participation in the Rating Game," Iroh replied. "Still, I doubt he came here just to cheer for his sister. He could have done that with their family at home."

"I will admit I do have another reason for why I came here personally," Sirzechs said. "I wanted to see one of these Digimon I've heard so much about up close." His eyes then turned to Kaho and Lalamon, making the two nervous.

"Uh… hello," Lalamon weakly greeted.

"Relax, I don't bite," Sirzechs said reassuringly. "I must admit, when I heard from Rias and Sona about an entirely separate race of beings made up of digital data, I was practically giddy."

'Giddy?' Most of Sona's peerage, Himari, Anne, and Kaho mentally said.

"I haven't yet told anyone else in the Underworld about Digimon, though I suspect after this Rating Game the truth of your existence will be revealed soon. I can only imagine how Serafall alone would react," Sona gave an exasperated sigh when he said that. "Though I do plan to share it with someone else soon. He should be arriving any second."

"And who would that be?" Iroh asked.

Iroh would soon get his answer when a new magic circle appeared, drawing everyone's attention. Emerging from the magic circle was an attractive young man seemingly in his early twenties with light blue eyes and green hair that was slicked back. He wore a green cloak with yellow triangle symbols, with under it a grey with a purple shirt, and grayish pants with gold buckles and brown boots.

"Ah, Ajuka!" Sirzechs happily greeted. "How've you been?"

"Just fine, Sirzechs," Ajuka Beelzebub replied. "Still, I'm surprised you invited me to your sister's first Rating Game. You know how busy I am."

"I know, but this Rating Game has something… different to it."

Ajuka was about to ask what Sirzechs meant when he noticed Lalamon floating next to Kaho. "Hmm?" He approached the flower Digimon, to both her and Kaho's surprise.

"Uh, hello?" Lalamon nervously greeted.

"Can we… help you, sir?" Kaho asked.

Ajuka turned to the young girl before his eyes locked on the Digivice on her wrist. "I apologize if I frighten you. It's just…"

"You've never seen a Digimon before, right?" Lalamon guessed.

"…Of course," Ajuka replied.

"Lalamon isn't the only Digimon here," Sirzechs said. "One will be participating in the Rating Game, along with Rias' substitute piece, who also happens to be the current wilder of Regulus Nemea."

"Truly now?" Ajuka asked, intrigued. "Does he also have a Digivice as well?"

"I knew the scientist in you would be interested in this," Sirzechs smirked.

Kaho blinked. "Wait, how do you-?"

["The Rating Game will begin shortly,"] Grayfia's voice announced from the magic projections.

"We'll have to continue our conversation another time, then," Ajuka politely bowed to Kaho and Lalamon before he went to take his seat.

When Issei opened his eyes, he blinked as he looked around. From what he could see, they were still in the club room. "D-did the teleport fail?" Issei muttered, looking around to see that Koh and Coronamon seemed just as confused as he was.

"Nothing changed…" Asia muttered as she did the same as Issei, Koh, and Coronamon. The others, however, acted as if it were perfectly normal.

["Your attention, please. Welcome everyone. This is Grayfia, servant of the Gremory family, speaking."] They suddenly heard above them, the silver-haired Devil's voice ringing throughout the building as if it were over an intercom. ["I have been tasked with refereeing this Rating Game match between the Gremory and Phenex families. Considering both Riser-sama's and Rias-sama's opinions, the field has been modeled after Kuoh Academy. An institution attended by Rias-sama."]

"Modeled?" Issei repeated in confusion, Rias looking back at him now and nodding.

"Take a look outside," Rias told him. Issei did so walked over to one of the closed windows and pushed the blinds open, with Asia, Koh, and Coronamon following him out of curiosity.

"Holy…!" Koh exclaimed when he and the other's wide eyes met not a bitch black sky but a mystical green sky with auroras. Other than the sky, everything was where it should be, from the main building, the gym, the field, the Clubhouse, and even the trees.

["Each team has been given an area to serve as its home base. Lady Rias is stationed in the Occult Research Cub's clubroom located in the old school building."]

"Show me where Riser Phenix is," Sona ordered.

"Yes, ma'am," Tsubaki said and flicked her finger, causing one of the panels to turn over to show Riser in a dark room with a few of her servants gathered around him affectionately.

["Lord Riser house base is located in the Student Council's room located in the new building."]

"I know it's not real, but he better not make a mess in that room," Sona growled with a twitching eye, knowing the kind of man Riser was.

["For the Pawns to use 'promotion', please head to the enemy's base to do it."]

'Guess I won't be able to use Promotion for a while,' Issei mentally said.

"Everyone, please put these earpieces in your ears," Akeno said as she handed out earpieces to each of her teammates.

"This is how we'll communicate on the battlefield," Rias said as everyone, except for Coronamon, placed the earpieces in their ears.

["The battle will now commence."] Grayfia announced. ["The match will continue until there is a victor or until dawn in the human world. Let the Rating Game begin. Good luck to all."]

The school bell rang across campus, signaling the start of the Rating Game.

Riser sat with his legs up on the replica of Sona's desk, currently groping two of his pawns who were dressed as maids, before looking back at the rest of his peerage. "Some of you may outmatch Rias' pieces but pay no heed to it. Do not hold anything back when you encounter them." He declared with a wicked grin, gripping his hands tighter around his pawns breasts and causing them to moan. "The only reason we're indulging in this silly game is to completely crush Rias' hopes and pride. Give her everything she deserves."

"Yes, milord." Riser's peerage sounded out, all departing from the room as he released his pawns from his grip so they could leave. Only Yubelluna, Ravel, and Xuelan remained.

"Something on your mind, Xuelan?" Riser asked his Rook, though he already had a good idea.

Xuelan simply said, "I just want to confirm that, if I lose against Hinode, you'll honor your deal."

Riser sighed. "You martial artists sure are a stubborn type. Yes, you have my word. Of course, I highly doubt you'll lose against a human. Even if he does have a strange familiar and a Longinus."

Xuelan bowed. "Thank you for everything, Riser-sama." The Chinese Rook then left.

"Do you truly plan to honor the agreement?" Yubelluna asked.

"I'm more surprised you even considered accepting her proposal," Ravel commented. The day she and Xuelan came back after the Rook's stunt, Xuelan had spoken with Riser and Yubelluna about adding to the stakes of the Rating Game, something Ravel and the others in Riser's peerage didn't know about until a few hours earlier.

"Yes," Riser leans back in his chair. "I'm a little surprised myself. Still, I doubt she'll lose. But just in case, I want you to keep an eye on her, Yubelluna."

"Of course, master," Yubelluna bowed with a smile.

"Our first objective is to take out Riser's Pawns," Rias said. "It would be troublesome if all eight of them were Promoted to Queen."

Upon Rias's command, Yuuto took out and unfolded a map of the school grounds, separated into grids like a chessboard.

With a red pen, Rias circled the old school building and the new school building. "The new school building has a complete view of the schoolyard, so it will be dangerous if we take a direct approach."

"What if we go through the track field and sneak into the back," Issei asked.

"But that's the most obvious entry point available and Riser knows it. No doubt he has positioned one of his pieces near the athletic clubhouse. Since it's an open field, most likely a Knight along with three Pawns, that will give him complete control over the area."

"Buchou, may I suggest capturing the gymnasium near the old school building?" Kiba asked. "It's a shorter route, and as it's adjacent to the old and new school buildings, the enemy will have limited movement."

"I've been thinking the same thing," Rias responded to Kiba's suggestion. "We should occupy the gymnasium first. The gymnasium is a close-quarters area so it would be more suited for Koneko as a Rook than for you as a Knight, Yuuto."

"Understood." Her Knight and Rook answered with a nod.

"If one of Riser's Rooks is going to be there it may be Xuelan," Koh spoke up. "We have to remember that she'll be gunning for me. Me and Coronamon will go with her."

"Of course," Rias nodded. "Now we must secure our defensive lines. Yuuto, Koneko. Go and set up the traps in the forest."

Both nodded again in understanding. "We'll be going, then." Kiba bid farewell before he departed with the petite white-haired Devil.

"Akeno, I'm going to need your illusionary magic in the forest and the sky above it once the traps have been set," Rias instructed her queen this time.

"As you wish." Akeno agreed before taking her leave as well. All that remained were Issei, Asia, Koh, and Coronamon now.

"Um, Buchou, what do you want us to do?" Issei inquired shyly, feeling odd to be the last one among the peerage with a task.

"You'll be running support and recovery, Asia, so you'll be on standby here," Rias first regarded the blonde. "It would be pointless to send you out only to get hurt."

"O-okay," Asia nodded hesitantly, no nervousness hidden in her tone. "But still, all this talk of fighting is starting to scare me."

"Try to relax!" Coronamon said. "Me and Boss will wipe the floor with the fried chicken's face. Oh, and pervo will help a little."

"Do you have to dis me like that?" Issei asked.

"I guess you're right," Asia nodded. "Oh, I just remembered. I brought these," she reached into her robe and pulled out a cross and a bottle.

"You still have that?!" Rias exclaimed, the skin of every Devil in the room crawling. "And is that holy water!?"

Asia fidgeted her fingers nervously. "I never actually got rid of them, and I figured they could be useful."

As much as Rias wanted to scold Asia for keeping a cross and holy water, she decided against it. "You're not hurt, are you?"

"A bit numb, but I'm okay."

Rias sighed, before staring at the church items on the table. She hated to admit it, but these would be useful.

"I'll hold onto them," Koh, one of the only non-Devils in the room, offered.

Rias nodded as Koh took hold of the church items. Then, the redheaded devil went over to the sofa and sat down. "Issei…"

"Y-yes?" He nervously answered, preparing for whatever job she had in mind. Despite that, the crimson-haired Devil only took a seat on the couch and patted her lap.

"Come and lie down right here."

Understandably, the three remaining people and Digimon in the room blinked in confusion at her request.

"C-could this be… the legendary lap pillow?!" Issei gasped, hesitant to simply walk over and do as he was told.

"Hurry up," Rias ordered him now, pulling the brunette out of his fear.

"Y-yes! Please take care of me!" Issei quickly bowed in appreciation before quickly heading over. Asia looked quite jealous, trying to contain it by putting a hand over her mouth.

"Is this really the best time for this?" Koh asked.

Rias did not answer, only smiling as Issei gently set his head down in her lap, barely containing his excitement as he did so. Immediately the sensation seemed to resonate through his body, the universe all at once seeming still to the brunette.

"I-it's so soft and tender… this feeling is beautiful…" Issei muttered to himself, unable to hold back tears from streaming down his cheeks.

"Come on, now. There's no reason to cry," Rias giggled, rubbing the top of his head.

'…This sensation. It feels familiar,' Koh thought to himself as he stared deadpanned at the scene. 'Oh yeah, now I remember. This is the feeling of being the only sane man in the room.' Koh had felt this sensation plenty of times when dealing with nutty Digimon.

"Come now, stop sniveling. I can be a lap pillow for you again if you'd like," Rias shook her head with a gentle smile. "But what I truly mean to do is lift the spell from you."

"Lift the spell from me?" Issei blinked in confusion. Not a moment after, Rias gently touched his forehead again, a pulse ringing through his body this time, almost as if newfound energy began to fill him. 'Wh-what's going on? I feel a lot stronger all of a sudden…'

Without thinking he shot up from Rias' lap and felt his power surging like a typhoon.

He was ready and raring to go, the more time he wasted standing there the more he felt his strength was leaving him. Though this was unlikely as Issei had energy to spare…

"Oh my~! You really have come a long way since you became my little pawn Issei~."

"I feel great! I feel like I could run forever or something!"

"I'm happy for you Issei, but don't get carried away. While you're much stronger, don't let it get to your head. Don't underestimate your enemies, but never overestimate yourself, is that understood?"

"R-right! Yes, Buchou. But… what did you do to me?"

"When you became my servant, I had to use all eight pawn pieces to make you mine. However, your body couldn't handle the strain back then so I sealed away some of the pieces. I undid the seals on a few of them. You're not quite there yet, but you're getting there." Rias smiled encouragingly.

"So that's why you were pushing me so hard with all that training…" Issei finally understood, leaning back down in her lap.

"Defeat the opponents you encounter, Issei. Even if it's a girl." Rias told her Pawn.

"Of course! I'll do you proud and lead us to victory!" Issei shouted with determination. Rias could only giggle, gently stroking his hair to look at his face.

"I'm expecting much from you, my adorable Issei. Don't let me down now." She then looked up at Koh and Coronamon with the same kind smile. "I'm sure with Hinode and Coronamon around, you'll both be unstoppable."

"Count on it!" Coronamon grinned back, giving a thumbs up.

Akeno then returned. "Buchou, I've finished setting up all of my illusions. We're ready," Rias' Queen explained, causing her King to nod in acceptance. Without warning, she stood up and knocked Issei off of her lap, who fell to the ground with a thud.

"Alright then, Issei, Hinode, go meet up with Koneko and make your way to the gym. Some of Riser's servants are likely already there. Akeno, be ready to back them up."

"Right!" Issei nodded as he shot up.

"Right, but I feel I should point something out before we go," Koh suddenly said.

"What is it?" Rias asked.

"Remember how my uncle said you were impulsive?" Koh asked. "Well, the last thing we need is Riser goading you with whatever crap he spews.

"He has a point," Akeno spoke up. "Riser may use the fact you don't want to marry him to his advantage, drawing you out without any support."

Rias hated to admit it, but they both had a point. That indeed did sound like something Riser would do. And something she would fall for. "Okay, I swear I won't act recklessly. But if I do have to fight him, Akeno, Asia, you'll come with me."

"Not just them. All of us will come to back you up, Buchou!" Issei declared.

Rias nodded, smiling at Issei's statement. "If that's all, then get out there. Show them what you can do."

"Right!" Issei, Koh, Akeno, and Coronamon quickly ran outside.

Once Issei, Koh, and Coronamon caught up with Koneko, they snuck into the gymnasium through the back door. The four moved quietly through the building, walking behind the curtains of the front stage. Koh and Issei peered around, feeling almost a bit too familiar with the terrain considering that it was exactly like the school they attend.

"I can't believe how identical it is…" Issei muttered, eyes darting around.

"Enemies." Koneko quietly informed them, narrowing her eyes as the lights on the ceiling of the gym flickered to life.

"Come out, Gremory servants. We know you're out there!" A familiar voice called out, causing Issei to sigh.

"No use in hiding, huh?"

"Not like that was an option to begin with," Koh shrugged as they began to move out from behind the curtain. They were greeted by four girls from Riser's peerage. Xuelan was with them, her eyes narrowing upon seeing Koh. A familiar blue-haired girl, Mira, was with her, whom Issei and Koh took on in their first meeting with Riser. Behind her were twins in identical school gym clothes, with green hair and large bags strapped to their backs.

"I'll admit, I wasn't expecting to face you so soon, Hinode," Xuelan said. "Though I'm not complaining. I am surprised that you brought Gremory's Pawn, though, given how easily he was taken out by Mira."

"I-it's her," Issei widened his eyes as the blue-haired girl smiled proudly at them, first to introduce herself.

"I'm Mira, a Pawn in Riser's peerage." She announced.

"I'm Ile! A Pawn!" One twin announced.

"I'm Nel, also a Pawn!" The other followed, both saluting cutely at the four.

Koneko glanced up at Koh in worry. "Hinode-senpai, are you sure you want to face the Rook? Her combat ability alone makes her level with a Queen."

"I'm sure," Koh's bracelet glowed, turning into a golden katana. "You guys handle the other three."

"Wait, I thought Regulus Nemea was an axe?" Mira questioned, the other two Pawns blinking in confusion with her.

'Guess Ravel kept her promise on not telling that Fried Chicken about me and Hinode,' Issei thought as he readied his Boosted Gear. "I'll handle the blue-haired chick. I got a score to settle with her."

"Guess we'll handle the other two Pawns," Koneko said, fitting on fighter's gloves with pink paw prints on the top.

"Good luck, Boss!" Coronamon smiled.

"You're not serious about facing Hinode, are you?" Mira asked.

"If you're worried about my feelings getting in the way, then I should tell you that's not going to be a problem," Xuelan sternly responded. "Besides, I want to see how much stronger he's become."

"…Fine. I'll deal with Gremory's Pawn, I suppose," Mira shrugged. "Ile, Nel, you two deal with the Rook."

"Hey! I'm right here!" Coronamon protested.

"Gotta say, I know I called dibs on Mira, but I'm jealous that Coronamon and Koneko get to deal with the twins," Issei chuckled as he glanced at the two.

"Really, dude?" Koh muttered though he did have a small smile. Their smiles quickly faded when the bags the twins towed dropped, revealing two large chainsaws that glowed with demonic energy. Koh, Coronamon, and Issei gawked in shock as they raised the large machinery over their heads and started them up.

"We'll rip it apart! We'll rip you apart!" They giggled rather cheerfully, disturbingly so.

"So… still jealous pervo?" Coronamon muttered.

"…No… well, kinda still…"

"Shut it, pervert," Koneko said threateningly.

"Enough talk!" Xuelan roared as she launched herself forward and swung her right hand straight at Koh. "Tiger Claw Slash!"

Koh quickly jumped back to avoid it, the ground where Xuelan's attack hit was suddenly scarred with deep gashes that looked to have been made by some great beast.

"Right into it, huh?" Issei muttered as Mira charged him. She launched a straight hit with her staff, only for Issei to dodge by jumping over her head. "Not this time!" He cheered as he rolled once reaching the ground, quickly regaining his stance and preparing his Sacred Gear for an attack. "You're not going to be handling me so easily again!" He sneered pridefully.

"We'll see about that!" Mira growled, charging once again with her staff overhead and twirling it to attempt another strike.

"You go left, I go right," Koneko said to Coronamon as they prepared to charge at the twins.

"Just because you have that weird familiar with you, doesn't mean you can win!" One of the twins proudly growled before they both revved up their chainsaws and charged.

"Hey! I'm not a familiar!" Coronamon yelled.

"Here we come~!" The twins giggled a bit maniacally as they raised the chainsaws overhead.

Koneko made no move to avoid the chainsaw of one of the twins. Instead, she caught the chainsaw with her hands before snapping the blade in half. The green-haired Pawn gawked in shock, but had no time to stare as Koneko quickly launched a series of punches. As she hadn't had a chance to use Promotion yet, the first twin was eliminated as a threat after a few punches.

Her twin didn't fare much better, as Coronamon easily avoided her swings. "Stay still you fiery lion-cub… thing!" She complained.

"Hmm… Nope! Coronamon laughed as he avoided another of Nel's attacks. "Corona-knuckle!" Coronamon's burning fist slammed his burg fist into Nel's side. Nel gaged in pain as she was sent flying, crashing into her twin. That was enough to knock the two out. A moment later they vanished in a bright light.

["Two of Riser's Pawns have retired."] Grayfia announced.

"No! Ile! Nel!" Mira shouted.

Issei smiled at the announcement. "Those two made it look easy, but I can't let that flaming kitty upstage me!"

"Don't get cocky!" Mira growled as she launched another forward strike at his gut. Instead of blocking or dodging this time, Issei caught the staff in his armored hand and grinned. Without hesitation, he quickly snapped the pole in half. "Wh-what?! My staff!"

"Things are a lot different from when we first fought!" Issei declared pridefully, cocking his arm back. "I'm not going down until I get to that fiery asshole!" He then delivered an open-hand strike to Mira's stomach, knocking the wind out of her and sending Mira barreling back several meters before hitting the ground. Without her notice, a small magic circle appeared on Mira's clothing where he struck.

"All set for my ultimate move!" Issei grinned. "Dress Break!" With a snap of his fingers, Mira's clothes were suddenly blown away, leaving only her white underwear.

"Kyaaaaaaaaah!" Mira screamed as she ducked down to the floor and tried to cover herself with her arms. "What happened to my clothes?!"

"Ahahahahaha!" Issei laughed maniacally. "That was my new special technique, Dress Break! I just used what little talent I have to imagine girls' clothes getting blown to pieces!" Issei then formed a ball of demonic power the size of a grain of rice in his left hand. "Now! Dragon Shot!"

The demonic power was sent at Mira and she was suddenly engulfed in a massive explosion. Issei had to shield his face from the shockwave caused by his attack. After things settled down, Mira's naked body lay still for a moment before she vanished like Ile and Nel.

["One of Riser's Pawns has retired."] Grayfia announced.

Issei cheered at both his victory and Grayfia's announcement. As for the other present combatants, well, needless to say, they were dumbfounded by Issei's Dress Break.

"You're the worst," Koneko stated.

"I hope her clothes weren't too expensive," Coronamon said.

Koh and Xuelan stopped to gawk at Issei's Dress Break and glanced at each other. "Is he really like that?" The Chinese Rook asked.

"…Believe me when I say, if it weren't for my uncle it could've been worse."

"Well, that's certainly an interesting technique," Sirzechs smiled in amusement. The reactions to Issei's Dress Break were mixed, as one would expect. Most of the girls, Sona and Tsubaki in particular, were shocked and repulsed.

Genshirou did his best to keep his nosebleed under control while covering Kaho's eyes.

Anne was giggling while Himari was stunned. Iroh simply shook his head with a smile.

And Ajuka was indifferent to the sight.

Xuelan eyes then harden. "Still, I'd say this is a good time as any to take this seriously, Hinode!" The Phenex Rook declared and got into a different stance, with her hands parallel to her head, and her fingers spread out and curved like claws. "Shòu Wushu: Tiger Style!" A golden aura burst out of Xuelan and took the shape of an ethereal tiger. The tiger soon dissipated, but the air of power it had remained behind with Xuelan. With a roar, Xuelan charged at Koh. "Tiger Claw Slash!" Xuelan swung her right hand at Koh.

Koh roared and blocked Xuelan's attack with his sword. The ground behind Koh was suddenly scarred with deep gashes that looked to have been made by some great beast, but Koh himself was unharmed.

"Whoa! What the hell…?!" Issei exclaimed upon seeing the destruction.

Xuelan was similarly surprised, though for a different reason. 'He's still a novice using the Asahiko-ryū and his Sacred Gear, yet he took that hit unscathed?'

Koh looked down at the ground beneath him. "Huh, maybe I should consider myself lucky it worked."

Xuelan blinked in confusion before gaping. "Wait…you mean to tell me…you didn't think you'd handle it?!"

"It was a gamble, but one that paid off. Also… you're open." Koh took advantage of her moment of carelessness and punched her right in the gut.

"Kha-!" Xuelan coughed painfully as spit flew out of her mouth. 'He hits as hard as a Rook. That must've been the piece he picked. I need to change things up!' She dug her heels into the floor to stop herself from getting sent back. Xuelan got onto the ground on all fours, one knee on the ground with her other leg raised like a scorpion tail. "Shòu Wushu: Scorpion Style!" Like before, a golden aura burst out of Xuelan, but now it has become a scorpion. Swinging her legs, she fired a couple of flaming slashes of fire at Koh, the Hinode barely avoiding the attacks as they craved up the gymnasium.

'So she isn't just limited to tiger,' Koh thought.

"Red Needle Legs!" Using her legs, Xuelan fired an X-shaped slash of fire at Koh.

'Stay calm, and focus on your breathing.' Koh took a deep breath. "Asahiko-ryū: Raging Sun!" Koh unleashed two consecutive arcing slashes around himself, cutting Xuelan's attack to ribbons.

'He cut my attack!?' Xuelan thought in shock. Her shock only grew when Koh suddenly closed the distance between them.

'Asahiko-ryū: Solar Flash!' Koh unleashed a single, low-stance slash at Xuelan.

A golden explosion of energy happened as Xuelan tried to defend herself, sending her rocketing into the back wall of the gymnasium.

"Whoa…" Issei muttered. "Hinode's still a novice, and Xuelan has only just gotten serious." Issei looked at the destruction caused by the two so far. "If they caused this, what was the match between her dad and his grandpa like?"

"…I'm not sure we want to find out," Koneko muttered.

Pushing aside some rubble, Xuelan panted, holding her shoulder as she bled from some cuts, glaring at Koh.

"Give up, yet?" Koh asked.

"Never!" Xuelan charged forward, intent on finishing-

A magic circle suddenly appeared and made the Phenex Rook disappear. "What the-!?"

A moment later, the gym exploded.

Xuelan stumbled, having suddenly been pulled out of the gym by a Phenex teleportation circle. Regaining her bearings, she glanced up to see the smoldering remains of the gymnasium. As she stared at the rubble, she realized that there was only one person who could've done this.

Xuelan glared upward. "Yubelluna, what the hell?!"

Yubelluna, floating in the air with a sultry smile on her lips, her hand was a large staff that radiated with her demonic energy, responded. "Lord Riser instructed me to watch over you, Xuelan. And I decided to interfere before the Substitute Rook defeated you."

"I had him!" Xuelan insisted. "I could've-"

"Could you?" Yubelluna questioned.

Before their argument could continue, the rubble began to move, catching the Phenex servants' attention. With a roar, Firamon shoved the rubble away, revealing Koh, Koneko, and Issei. They were dusty and bruised from the blast of the explosion but otherwise okay.

"They survived my signature attack, huh?" Yubelluna mused, almost amused.

"That was way too close," Issei commented, gazing around the flames. "You guys okay?"

"Yeah," Koneko muttered. "You can let go, now."

"Huh?" Issei then realized that he was cradling Koneko. "Oh, sorry," the brunette let go. "Hey, Hinode, you okay- Hinode?!"

Issei and Koneko gasped at seeing Koh's state. While he was physically okay, he was breathing heavily, sweating, and trembling. "Hinode-senpai?!" Koneko looked at him in worry.

"Boss!" Firamon lowered his head, nuzzling against Koh. "Calm down! Take deep breaths. This isn't the warehouse."

Koh began taking deeper breaths, calming down. "I…" he slumped, placing his goggles over his eyes and he continued to take deep breaths. "I'm okay… Thanks, buddy."

"Dude, what was that?!" Issei asked, he and Koneko were very concerned about what just happened.

"Just… reliving a bad memory," Koh answered. He then turned his focus on Xuelan and Yubelluna, with the former looking at him with concern. "I can keep going."

"Give it up, boy," the opposing Queen scoffed, smirking down at them. "This game is ours." Yubelluna chuckled, holding her staff up to launch an attack.

Koh, Firamon, Koneko, and Issei were prepared to move but paused when a familiar face in Akeno floated down in front of them. "Oh, my. Don't think you can threaten our kohai so easily," Akeno giggled.

"Akeno-san!"

The raven-haired Queen turned to look back at them for a moment. "You all move on. I'll handle her."

But before she could do anything, Firamon stepped in front of her. "No can do. Issei, Akeno, go make sure Boss is alright. Let me handle this."

Issei didn't say anything as he just stared at Firamon. Throughout all the weeks he had known Coronamon, the guy was usually snarking at him or insulting him. To call him by his first name was one thing but the other thing was…

Firamon was calm. He didn't even raise his voice. But Issei could feel the fury radiating from the Flaming Lion Digimon, and it was akin to a roaring inferno.

"She made Boss relive a bad moment for the both of us," Firamon growled as he glared at Yubelluna. "That's why I'm gonna take her down!"

"Firamon, please listen. Yubelluna is no joke. I should be the one to handle her," Akeno reasoned, keeping her eyes on the opposing Queen in case she tried to attack while they conversed.

"I can take her," Firamon countered.

"Firamon…"

"Let him do it," Koh said.

"Hinode," Akeno muttered.

"The arrogance of humans and their pets," Yubelluna giggled, floating a little lower to the ground.

"I'm not a pet!" Firamon growled, power gathering on his forehead. "I'm Koh Hinode's partner! Fira Bomb!" The gathered flames shot at Yubelluna.

Pillars of flames and explosions rang out from the gymnasium, catching Yuuto's attention. "What in the world is going on over there?!"

"Hey, I think I heard someone over there!"

Kiba's eyes widened. Apparently, one of Riser's servants had heard him. "Oops."

Yubelluna wheezed, holding her side in pain as she glared at Firamon, the Champion-level Digimon not having a scratch on him even though he took the brunt of her explosions point blank. 'I don't believe this! Is this… thing somehow stronger than me?!'

Xuelan could only watch in shock, seeing the famed Bomb Queen of her master's peerage having trouble against the Digimon.

Koneko was also surprised to see Firamon easily handling a Queen. While surprised, Issei couldn't help but let his eyes wander to Yubelluna's chest whenever it jiggled when she took a hit. Koh smiled and took the chance to rest while his partner fought.

"Well, this is quite a surprise," a new voice spoke. Koh, Issei, and Koneko looked behind them to see Ravel approaching from the sky. "I didn't think your familiar would be crazy enough to challenge our queen so lightly."

"For the last time, Firamon isn't a familiar. I don't even know what that means," Koh deadpanned.

"What do you want, Fried Chicken?" Koneko asked.

"Fried Chicken?!" Ravel looked ready to burn Koneko to a crisp for that, but she took a deep breath to calm down. "I'm not here to fight. I'm only here to observe." Ravel scoffed, crossing her arms over her chest. "I never fight in the games. Never need to. But I do have an interest in seeing what this 'Firamon' can do. As well as how the Red Dragon Emperor and the Lion King will fare."

"Lion King? Wait, do you mean me?" Koh asked.

["Three of Riser's Pawns have retired."]

"Wait, what?" Ravel said in surprise.

Issei looked up at the sky in astonishment. "Three of them!?"

"That must have been Yuuto-kun," Akeno gave a proud smile.

"{Koh, Issei, Akeno, Koneko. Can you hear me?}" Rias' voice spoke over their earpieces. "{Yuuto managed to take out some of Riser's servants. He's gone to lure out the remaining pieces. Can any of you support him?}"

"…You guys go on ahead," Koh said. "Firamon and I will stay here. He'll take out the Queen, and I still have to finish my fight with Xuelan."

"Hinode-kun," Akeno spoke, looking at the orange-haired teen gravely. "I'm going to remain here and watch. If either of them becomes too much for you and Firamon, I shall step in."

"If you want to," Koh nodded.

"Are you sure?" Issei asked.

"We'll be fine. Besides…" Koh looked up, seeing Firamon easily holding his own with Yubelluna. "Firamon's got this."

"You sure have a lot of faith in that flaming lion," Ravel noted. "Fitting for the Lion King, I suppose," she shrugged. "I'll remain here as well to monitor Xuelan and make sure she doesn't do anything stupid again."

"Ravel-sama, that's uncalled for!" Xuelan protested.

"Is it?" Ravel glared.

"…We'll leave them to you then," Koneko nodded.

"Kick their asses!" Issei gave a thumbs-up before he and Koneko ran off toward the main school building.

Issei and Koneko ran as fast as they could to the replica of the new school building, leaving Koh, Firamon, and Akeno to their opponents.

"Do you think they'll be okay?" Issei asked.

"…They can handle themselves," Koneko replied.

"Yeah…" Issei nodded. "They'll be fine. Let's meet up with Kiba and head to the main building."

Xuelan, Ravel, and Akeno continued to watch in shock as Firamon fought Yubelluna. Not only was he holding his own, but it was obvious he wasn't taking the Queen seriously. In fact, it seemed like the Champion-level Digimon was toying with her.

Riser's Queen panted as she shakily stood on the ground, her clothes torn and burned with splotches of her own blood on them, her staff burned to a crisp next to her. Floating above and quite literally looking down on her, Firamon didn't sport so much as a scratch.

"Who's the arrogant one, again?" Firamon taunted.

"You… You unruly beast!" Yubelluna lashed out, reaching into the straps of her dress. "I j-just have to take it… take it and I'll be… fine…" she mumbled as she trembled with pain. Slowly, she pulled out a tiny bottle, weakly attempting to open it.

"Firamon…" Koh spoke up. "Finish her."

"Right!" Firamon's front legs burst into flames. "Fira Claw!"

Yubelluna only had time to look up as Firamon came face to face with the purple-haired Devil, slashing her with his powerful, flaming front claws. Yubelluna sailed through the air before hitting the ground at breakneck speeds.

"Yubelluna!" Ravel cried out in complete shock, her jaw slacking as she saw Riser's strongest servant taken down.

"He… really did it…" Akeno mumbled in amazement.

Firamon landed on the ground, standing tall. "That was the best of the fried chicken's group?" The lion Digimon questioned. "Hmph, BomberNanimon had much stronger blasts."

"Why'd you have to remind me of that guy?" Koh sighed.

"Hey, he was the first thing that came to mind, don't blame me!" Firamon yelled.

"BomberNanimon?" Akeno asked, putting her finger on her chin.

"Don't ask." Koh swiftly shook his head. "Trust me, you don't wanna know." Koh then noticed something on the ground, having rolled away from Yubelluna. It was the tiny bottle Yubelluna tried to open earlier. Koh picked it up and held it up in the light, examining the bottle with a bit of interest. "What's this?"

"H-hey! That is ours!" Ravel called out from above, turning the teen's gaze to her for a moment before looking back at the bottle before he looked to Akeno.

"It's a vial of Phoenix Tears, a special type of healing potion created by the Phenex Clan," Akeno explained. "It's used to treat most injuries. Had Yubelluna taken it, she would've kept going."

"I see," Koh nodded before pocketing the vial. "I'll keep this, then. Could come in handy."

"H-hey! You can't do that!" Ravel complained.

"Is it against the rules?" Koh asked.

"…No," Ravel grumbled.

"Himejima, you and Firamon go meet up with the others," Koh turned his gaze at Xuelan's direction. "I still have unfinished business here."

"Okay," Akeno nodded as she flew off.

"Good luck, boss!" Firamon said as he followed Akeno, the two flying ahead to the main school building.

"Ravel-sama, you should leave also," Xuelan added.

"R-Right. I have to get back to the others to readjust the plans," the younger Phenex girl said before taking off through the sky back to the rest of the peerage. She was brutally reminded of Yubelluna's defeat when she heard Grayfia's voice above.

["Riser's Queen has retired."]

Now alone, Koh and Xuelan hardened their eyes.

"No more distractions," Xuelan said as she and Koh readied themselves to restart their battle.

["Riser's Queen has retired."]

Those words echoed through the track field, causing Issei, Koneko, and Kiba to pause in their own battles as well as their opponents. The two boys were currently crossing paths with the enemy Knights, Karlamine and Siris, while Koneko dealt with the remaining Bishop and Pawns.

It was easy to tell that the Queen's fall surprised many of the opposing peerage, the Zweihander-wielding knight sweating in shock.

"Sounds like Firamon did it," Issei smiled.

"I suppose we should stop underestimating Hinode-kun and Coronamon," Kiba chuckled, happy to hear the news.

"…Yeah," Koneko nodded.

"N-no way! There's no way that a single human beat Yubelluna!" Dismissed Riser's other bishop, Mihae. "The enemy Queen must have blindsided her!"

"Trust me, that 'single human' is much more badass than you take him for! Him and his little annoying fire lion!" Issei yelled.

"Hey! I heard that, pervo!" Firamon's voice called out, causing the field full of Devils to turn their attention to the approaching Digimon.

"W-What the hell is that?!" Mihae exclaimed.

"Hold on, it looks like that human's familiar," Li said.

"His familiar can get bigger?! No fair…!" Ni complained.

Akeno, who arrived with Firamon, had her normal sweet smile as her hands sparked. "Ara ara, did you not realize I'm here too?"

"Crap, their Queen!" Karlamine narrowed her eyes, gripping her sword. "Don't give up, girls! We can't let any of them get into the building!"

"Too bad, because we're winning this game!" Firamon declared.

AN: Okay, this chapter turned out longer than I thought. So long, in fact, I just decided to screw it and split it here. Seems like a good place to end it.

Xuelan's martial art, Shòu Wushu (兽武術 lit. Beast Martial Arts), is based on Konomi Tatara's Peach Blessing from "Chained Soldier". I blame Supreme_king_Nero for getting me into that series.

Also, I think I'm going to drop the previews. I just can't think of how to keep them interesting. Well, I hope you like the chapter anyway.

And with all that out of the way, see you all next time. Until then, stay safe, stay healthy, and don't be racist!
