Sorry for the delay but I'm baaaaaccccckkkkk!
Long story short, health got worse, got depressed, lost my job, blah blah blah. But now I'm feeling creative and decided to come back to this. I remembered how I wanted to go about this. So here we go.
No beta, all mistakes are mine.
A month had passed… or at least it felt like a month to Sakura.
She still hadn't seen the brothers or at least Sasuke and Shisui at least. She would see Itachi on occasion, but he didn't really say much of anything. Actually, she would admit at least, she had been having a good time with Obito of all of the demons. He was a little.. Moody at times, but it was natural seeing as Kakashi had still been avoiding her which, in turn, meant he was avoiding Kakashi.
It wasn't until she was lying in bed when Kakashi came in to hide, but when he saw Sakura, he turned around to leave.
"Wait…" Sakura called out, making Kakashi stand in place.
"I think we need to talk." She offered, patting the spot beside her bed.
Kakashi had turned around and sat beside her, his eyes looking forward, unmoving from the apparent spot on the wall.
"I'm… sorry." Sakura said quietly, looking over to Kakashi.
He was taken aback by the apology.
"You shouldn't be apologizing to me, I should be apologizing to you–"
"Yes, but you're suffering because of me right now." She pointed out. Kakashi didn't argue that.
"I'm spending all of my time with Obito, and you're avoiding me thus avoiding Obito. He's not doing well without you right now."
Kakashi sat in silence. Sakura continued.
"I'm not mad at you anymore. I… came to terms with my death and I understand that you couldn't necessarily disobey orders. I'm still mad at Sasuke and Shisui, but not you. Please, go and see Obito."
Kakashi sighed, finally turning to look at Sakura.
"You know, you're all he talks about." The pinkette smirked.
"He told me about how you got your eye, how you two are together, everything. And I feel bad that he's not seeing you because of me. He needs you."
Kakashi chuckled lightly.
"I can see why Itachi had such an interest in you now. You're so.. Selfless. You care about the people around you more than yourself. I bet that's why you became a nurse."
Sakura blushed at the compliment, rendering her speechless.
"I am sorry, though, for what happened. You don't deserve to be down here. You deserve to be in another place. You've probably saved so many lives with those hands of yours, Hell's not the place for you." Kakashi spoke honestly.
Sakura simply smiled.
"You want to know why I became a nurse?" She had asked. Kakashi nodded his head, wanting her to continue.
"You see, I volunteered for the military. I was one of those people who stayed with the soldiers who were hurt but couldn't go home yet due to their injuries. I would take them to and from appointments. Now, I don't know what it was like with your time in the military, but one rule they have is that if you don't have a CPR card, you couldn't even do CPR on federal bases. One day, one of the people I took care of had a heart attack. I wasn't allowed to touch him and no one was around to help. All I could do was call the emergency services and they came to take him away. He didn't live. So I went and got my CPR card. Then I felt like I wanted to do more and became an LPN… still a nurse but not what I wanted. So I went back to college and got my registered nurse degree then my bachelor. I was about to go back to get my nurse practitioner so I could do more. The day that I died was the day I was going to start my online classes.I wanted to do more to help."
Kakashi listened dutifully. He wasn't surprised in the least that that's how it had happened, but he was proud of her after hearing her story.
"Look, I'm not the one to do this, but I think there is a loophole. If you get in Madara's good graces, you might be sent to the' other' place."
Sakura looked at Kakashi, her expression showing she was shocked he had even known about that loophole.
"How do you know?"
Kakashi shrugged. I was offered, But I decided to stay here. I couldn't leave Obito by himself." He smiled.
"-well how?" Sakura asked quickly.
"Like I said, get in Madara's good graces and he can send you. It was Obito who suggested I go, but like I said, I couldn't leave Obito to himself. He wouldn't do well without me."
Sakura thought to herself for a moment.
She didn't know that was even an option. She didn't know that it was that simple. She wasn't necessarily in Madara's bad graces or anything, but she wasn't exactly a favorite of his either. They only had met that one time.
"So… if Obito suggested it, I might be able to leave?" Sakura asked, making sure to get it right.
"Yes." Kakashi spoke simply.
Sakura was now the quiet one, thinking to herself for the small moment.
"I… no offense, but i want that. I mean, I'm unhappy here and I would like to leave and if I can't go back to the living world then I would like that."
Kakashi smiled softly, happy to see Sakura almost back to her normal self.
"I'll talk to Obito, see if i can persuade him to talk to Madara. Maybe get the brothers in on it–"
"No." Sakura said simply.
"I don't want them to know. Keep it to Obito, please." She pleaded. Kakashi nodded his head.
"Okay, I'll keep it to just Obito, but if the brothers catch wind of this, they may or may not like it." Kakashi agreed. As he did so, Sakura turned herself around and wrapped her arms around his waist.
"Thank you… for telling me that." She said. Kakashi was taken aback, but he wrapped an arm around her, giving her a side hug of sorts.
"You're welcome. Now, let's work on getting your revenge."
"Revenge?" Sakura asked, a little confused.
"Yes, I know how to get back at the brothers." Kakashi smirked.
"I already have a plan in mind."
