" You seem to be a little happier than the last time I saw you. " Miranda observed as she noticed there was something different with Elena. " Is there something I should know? "

After taking a sip of her ice tea and setting her glass down on the coffee table, Elena tugs her feet underneath her and leans back against the couch. "Damon and I are back together. " She answered with a soft sigh.

Miranda gasped as a huge grin spread across her face. "Oh, I am so happy for you and Damon, and of course for Bella too. See, I was right. You and Damon are meant for each other. "

Elena nods slightly. "Yeah, I guess you were right. " She said with a chuckle and then sighed deeply. "I know ever since dad passed away, you and I haven't been getting along, and I want to apologize for my behavior lately. "

Miranda shook her head and reached for Elena's hand, giving it a squeeze. "Oh, honey, it's okay. " She said softly, smiling.

" Thanks mom, but we both know it's not okay. I've been a total bitch to you all this time because I didn't want to admit that I was still in love with Damon. I didn't want to admit that my heart always belongs to him and it always will. "

" You weren't that bad, really. " Miranda said with a chuckle before she cleared her throat and got serious. " Listen, I know sometimes I can be overbearing and sometimes I don't always mind my own business or keep my mouth shut. But I only do those things because I just want you to be happy, honey. "

" I know that, mom. "

" So are you? "

"Am I what? " Elena asked in confusion.

"Are you happy? "

A small smile spread across her face as she nodded her head. "Yeah, I think so. "

While Elena was visiting with her mom, Damon spent the day with Bella. They did a lot of stuff together. Damon took Bella to the park and pushed her on the swings a few times. After the park, Damon ended up taking her to an ice cream shop. Today was a good and fun day for them both, and Damon is looking forward to having more days like this with his daughter.

Damon had missed six years of Bella's life that he wanted to make up for. Ever since he and Elena got back together, Damon has been trying to spend time with his family. Today, though, was just about him and Bella. Their first father-daughter day.

After their second Disney movie ended, Damon reached for the remote and shut off the TV. "So are you ready to go back to your mom's? " Damon asked his daughter as he noticed that he got a text from Elena letting him know that she's home from visiting her mother.

"Daddy? "

"Yeah, Princess? " Damon asked as he grabbed his wallet and car keys off his coffee table.

" How come you and Mommy aren't living together? " Bella asked, as she couldn't help but wonder why both of her parents weren't living in the same house together.

Hearing Bella's question, Damon hesitated for a moment because he wasn't sure how to answer her question. Since he really doesn't even have the right answer. " I don't know, but hopefully one day we'll all be in the same house together. " He said as honestly as he could.

" I hope so, because I love it when you and Mom are in the same house. "

Damon chuckles softly as he leans forward and gently kisses Bella's forehead. " Me too, princess. " Damon would love to live with his girls and the three of them could be a family. But of course, that's up to Elena.

Both Damon and Elena spent the rest of the evening relaxing on Elena's couch in each other's arms while the crackle of the fire burned in the fireplace. "This feels nice, " Elena hums softly as she curls up closer to Damon and smiles softly.

Damon leans down and kisses the top of her head as he holds Elena even tighter in his arms. "It feels nice being with you. So, how did it go with your mom? Were you ladies able to work out your differences? "

Elena nods. "Yeah, we worked out our differences. I promised I wouldn't be so harsh to her, as long as she promised she wouldn't keep interfering in my affairs again. " Elena's relationship with her mom won't be fixed overnight, but at least they were able to talk things through.

" How was your day with Bella? "

"Oh, my day with my daughter was fun. We played in the park. Her favorite thing to play on is the swings. " He said with a chuckle, remembering that Bella kept making him push her on the swing because she wanted to fly.

" After the park, I took her to get some ice cream and then we spent the rest of the afternoon watching at least two Disney movies. Beauty and the Beast and I think the last one was Cinderella. " Damon said, finishing up telling Elena about his and Bella's day.

" Those are her favorite movies. " Elena giggles softly as she looks up at Damon and leans up to kiss him deeply and passionately, resting her hand against the side of his neck and smiling against his lips.

Damon returned the kiss, as he continued to kiss her more deeply and passionately before he slowly pulled back. "What was that for? " he asked, slightly smirking.

" That's for spending the day with our daughter. Thank you. " Elena said softly as she smiled up at him.

Damon chuckled softly as he kissed her forehead and held her closer to him. "You don't have to thank me for that. She's my daughter, and I enjoyed spending the day with her. I'm looking forward to spending more days like today with her. "

Elena's face lit up as she looked up at Damon. " I think Bella would love that. "

"Yeah, I think so too. But wanna guess what I would love right now? " Damon asked huskily as he leaned down and started to kiss her neck with open-mouth kisses, trailing his fingers across her thighs.

" Oh, I think I can take a wild guess here. " Elena chuckled softly as she let out a soft moan and tilted her head back to give him more access. " But I am thinking we could move this somewhere that's more comfortable. Like my bed, perhaps. "

Damon smirks against her neck. "Mhmmm, I do love the way your mind works. " He whispered against her ear as he got up from the couch, kept a tight hold of Elena, and started to walk upstairs, trailing kisses down her neck all the way down towards her chest.
