King of Hell
Chapter Eight
Paying the Prices
The walls of Ahris prison were assaulted as if it was a great fortress. Devils fell upon one another in brutal and bloody combat. Stonework explodes as spells rained down upon the heads of prisoner and guard alike and the Lucifuge Legion led by their Lord in person slaughtered all that stood before them.
Grayfia rallied her squadron of warriors and a handful of prisoners as well to her side while Minato did the same with a great many prisoners who had been former rebels before their capture. She was stunned how many held within Ahris and subjected to it's brutality were merely civilians though.
Entire families in some cases had been locked away and terrorized here. No longer though. She wouldn't stand by as the loyalist forces oppressed the people of the Underworld any more.
As much as she wanted to take the fight to her father and the other loyalists though, she knew they could only attempt to flee from their current situation.
"Which way?" Grayfia demanded as she blasted a pair of guards with ice, shredding them and converting them into reddened ice sculptures.
"We have to get to the end of the corridor, ma'am!" Ariah shouted back as she tried to shoulder one of her comrades who had been wounded in one of the bombardments launched by the Lucifuge forces.
"Does your father already know you defected?" Minato asked.
"More than likely." Grayfia said as she watched him retrieve a weapon from a dead guard and hand it to a badly bruised prisoner that gave Minato a weak imitation of a salute.
"How?" He asked.
"My squadron is about twice the size of this. At least normally. I sent the other half to eliminate my younger brother and his squadron. Whether they succeeded or not it would have tipped my hand." Grayfia explained.
Minato stopped and stared at her.
"Keep moving. Euclid and his men specifically target villages belonging to rebel houses. Primarily women and children. Part of a demoralization campaign supposedly. Really my brother has just lost his mind. He is a monster now." Grayfia said as she stepped forward once more and led the group toward the corridor and hopefully closer to escape.
Minato seemed like he was about to say something but was interrupted as the entire prison shook once more and entire chunks of the ceiling began to collapse, crushing a dozen prisoners across the prison's campus. Following it a thunderous roar as if thousands all screamed out as one let loose.
"The bombardment is over, the legion is charging." Grayfia said, tamping down her panic as best as she could.
"There is an access door to the stairs at the end of the corridor. If we can get there we should be able to make it to the sub levels before the Legion can break through the prison." Ariah called out.
"Then let's hurry." Minato said as he pushed himself forward along with everyone else in the corridor. There were no guards left alive in this area. Just the dead from both sides.
There was a sharp crescendo in the sounds of battle from outside as the legion made direct contact with the horde of escaped prisoners. The smartest among the prisoners would be trying to find ways to slip out during the fighting. Most wouldn't be lucky enough to even get an opportunity though, and that stung at Minato's heart.
He couldn't do anything for them though. The few that were here with him and Grayfia's team had a chance though. Those that were unlucky enough to be silenced by Lord Lucifuge's forces would be avenged in time.
It was all he could do for them for buying him an escape with their lives.
As they passed the thickly barred window, Minato and Grayfia were both able to glance at the situation in the main yard of the prison. Dozens of prisoners were being encircled in small clusters as loyalist soldiers stormed through the breaches that they had blasted in the walls. The prisoners fought back with all they had, but pieces of pipe and the former guards' weaponry didn't match up to the military grade armor and weapons employed by their enemies.
Not to mention the spells being flung about with ease by the Lucifuge Legion. A few of the prisoners replied with their own magical attacks, but their time spent languishing in Ahris had robbed most of them of the necessary energy and health to properly wield the magic as they might have before their imprisonment.
Swathes of prisoners fell in battle with the soldiers, only occasionally killing one of their attackers in the exchange. The fighting was swift and brutal and the prisoners broke and fled before the charge of the oncoming warriors. Minato didn't blame them. The yard was a deathtrap, inside the prison proper the prisoners might have a bit of a better chance in a fight but he highly doubted it.
"They'll start clearing the floors soon and we need to go through the lower floors to get to the sub levels. We have to move now, Minato." Grayfia said as she pushed him gently toward the stairwell.
"Of course. What is on the sub levels anyway?" Minato asked as they began down the stairs. He grimaced at the distance they would have to go. Flying here would be pointless, the ceiling was barely tall enough for all of them to stand upright fully. It would tire him even more anyway.
"Besides having the only reasonably good pathways to escape now that the legion is here, it also has the primary armory for the guard force and the former Warden's trophy hall." The wounded woman that Ariah was helping along explained. She'd been unlucky and one of the earliest blasts fired by the incoming Lucifuge Legion had managed to graze her. Some kind of acidic magical blast. Even once she was treated the scars would be horrible. Magically caused injuries were harder to heal even with magic.
"Trophy room? We don't have time for that." One of the former prisoners argued as the group continued down the stairs.
"It's poorly named. It was supposed to be storage for the prisoner's property for when they were released. Things changed and obviously most prisoners were never going to leave or if they did they were never going back to the life they lived." Grayfia explained as her thoughts ran to the poor girl she had seen used by the now dead Captain as an example. She'd been killed in the same blast that had wounded her soldier.
"So what?" The prisoner asked again.
"My equipment?" Minato asked.
"Not your sword I'm afraid…my brother managed to get his hands on that. He 'dueled' the man who captured you for it. His squadron killed the entire unit in the ensuing fight. The last of our decent loyalist forces honestly." Grayfia said sadly.
"I see. Then why are we going there?" Minato asked. His sword was a weapon perfect for slaying supernatural beings, like their fellow devils even, but why would they go after things like uniforms and personal items when they didn't need to.
"Because we have to leave something there." Ariah said before nodding to one of their number who patted the thick bag she was carrying. It looked awfully heavy.
"Trophy room means that they have turned it into practically a treasure room doesn't it. It's got more than just personal affects." Minato realized.
"Gold, priceless heirlooms, coveted weapons. All sorts of things. Only nobles and high ranking commanders will be allowed in once the prison has been pacified…or liquidated." Grayfia finished pointing out.
"So a bomb to thin the numbers of the higher ups. You thought of everything." Minato praised.
Grayfia shook her head bitterly. "Clearly not, otherwise my father would not be here with an army tearing the place apart and killing everyone he finds out of their cells."
Minato had to acknowledge that point. Still the amount of planning that Grayfia had clearly put into this mission was impressive and if things had gone to her plan then this would be one of the worst defeats that the loyalists suffered in the war. Now at least it would be a pyrrhic victory at most.
Especially since he fully intended to never end up as a prisoner again.
That thought and the fact that he had been freed from the magic draining chains for a bit of time led Minato to feel his power returning faster than he expected. Nowhere to the point where he could even imagine using his teleportation to get them out of the prison, and with the prison its;ef blocking magical circle transport…they were stuck with the old fashioned way of escape.
Yet he felt the strength to fight his way to freedom filling his being. With the others with him he wholeheartedly believed that they could pull this off and get out.
Even as they stepped off of the stairs onto the ground floor of the prison and effectively into an active battlefield he felt confident in their success. Only compounded when he lashed out at a soldier that was focused on finishing off the prisoner he had been fighting.
The man never saw Minato at all. A pulse of demonic power and Minato had driven a handful of intensely rotating and pulsing power directly through his chest. Gracefully he snatched the blade from the dead soldier's hand as he fell and turned it onto the man's squad mates who fell quickly as Grayfia and the rest of the group around Minato joined into the fray.
"Ariah, where do we go from here?" Grayfia asked as she gently tapped a soldier's head as he overextended in a missed swing toward her.
There was a dull tapping sound before he let out a choked scream and collapsed to the ground, the interior of his skull having frozen solid.
"Left, past that broken checkpoint there should be another set of doors and a service stairway." Ariah said while trying to avoid attacks from enemy spell casters. A much harder task while dragging a comrade along with her.
Luckily Grayfia stepped in to defend her subordinates. A wave of icicles erupted from her hands and like a wall of razor blades, they shredded the unfortunate enemy ahead of the. Perhaps a few unlucky prisoners caught in the arc of the attack as well. Grayfia sadly couldn't pay them any mind at the moment.
Several of the prisoners that had come from the upper levels alongside them were slaughtered by the soldiers as more and more forced their way into the main hall. Those prisoners that had been holding here to try and make a stand against Lord Lucifuge's troops were rapidly giving ground as whatever makeshift line they had cobbled together collapsed.
"Almost there!" Minato said as he led the way now. He carved a path through the enemy. It was complete chaos though as the melee filled the hall.
Grayfia rejoined him at his side and with a blast of demonic power culled the rest in their way.
"Hurry, my father no doubt knows our general location now and he and his personal guard will be on their way to confront us." Grayfia urged them on.
The group found the service stairway and began to descend it. Wounded and crying prisoners lined the walls as they ran past them. People too injured or broken to continue on in the fighting or in an attempt to escape and were forced to accept their deaths. Minato blocked out their whimpering as best he could and continued to lead at the point of their group to the sub level below them.
He picked up speed as the air suddenly grew colder.
"Grayfia…" Ariah suddenly said, sounding further behind than she should.
Minato and Grayfia both turned. The number of those that still accompanied them had been diminished immensely. Almost none of the prisoners from the other levels remained, either dead or separated from them in the chaos. Two of Grayfia's soldiers were missing as well.
"We are slowing you down." Ariah said, causing Grayfia to still and prepare to object.
"We will delay them here. Your father is coming." Ariah said as the chill in the air intensified to the point that their breath could be seen before their faces.
"We are at the sublevel, we just need to get out." Minato argued.
Ariah and Grayfia stared at one another ignoring Minato which the young man picked up on relatively easily. This was a silent conversation he had no part in.
"Good luck." Grayfia forced out before turning and fleeing, snatching Minato by the wrist and dragging him along after her.
He wisely said nothing, only shooting a final glance back at the remaining women of Grayfia's squadron staying behind. They carefully set their bomb down and their wounded comrade over top it to conceal it. A trap then.
They no longer needed to stop at the armory or the trophy room then. They just needed to get out.
"You know the rest of the way?" He asked.
"Yes." Grayfia said quietly. Minato said nothing to the tears running down her cheeks as he kept pace with her.
By the time Minato and Grayfia heard, or rather felt the bomb go off they had made it to the locked door of the sub-level. The handful of prisoners huddling down in this space watched them carefully as Minato stepped forward and pressed the swirling ball of demonic power in his hand against the frame of the door causing it to bulge out away from his technique before splitting and cracking.
Grayfia stepped past him and lashed out to boot the door the rest of the way open, sending the metal crashing across the hall on the other side. She then turned to the others around them.
"If you want to escape and live your only chance is the sealed tunnels down this hallway. We can open them up for you but you will not follow us. Understood?" She said in a strict tone to the prisoners.
"You open the way for us and you'll never see any of us again." One of the more bold prisoners said the rest nodding rapidly in agreement.
Minato cringed faintly. He knew well enough that the reasoning Grayfia was making them go in separate routes from himself and her was to spread the enemy wider as they pursued them. It was logical but also meant they were likely all doomed to die. Still it was their only chance.
Grayfia took the lead passing by two heavily reinforced doors that Minato assumed were the armory and Trophy Room respectively. They passed another door that looked to be some sort of recreation room. It had been converted into a foul looking dungeon of sorts. The fact that the next room was the first of a set of furnaces told him that it was likely those poor souls that found themselves victimized in that room were destined to be killed shortly after. The horror they likely suffered was unimaginable.
"Focus Minato I need your help with these. I can weaken them with my magic but your abilities are more…explosive" She stated as they passed by the last of the furnaces to a series of brick walls with arch-like patterns of different colored bricks over them.
"How thick are these?" He asked as she stepped up to one and pressed both hands against it before a thick coating of white ice spread across the bricks.
"Around two to three feet. But if I freeze whatever moisture is inside from the old tunnels they should be brittle enough for you to smash them without too much wasted energy." Grayfia explained as she stepped back.
"Good thinking." Minato complimented as she stepped up, the swirling energy in his hand already as he pressed it against the wall and felt it cave in from the technique's power.
The passage that they created was narrow but it quickly widened back out into a cavernous void of inky blackness. A tunnel, complete with rusted rail tracks sat on the other side and nothing much else.
"A few of you go and run as quickly as you can, this tunnel will let you out somewhere between here and the city, they haven't been used in over a century so who knows where exactly." Grayfia explained before she grabbed Minato by the hand and led him toward the next tunnel entrance further down the corridor.
"Why are there even rail tunnel entrances here?" Minato asked.
"It was once a castle owned by one of the Mauo and used for a pleasure palace. They had trains bring in all sorts of things from food to pleasure slaves. Most of the rails were dismantled to reuse the material for newer projects after they got tired of Ahris." Grayfia explained as the pair of them repeated their actions earlier.
"Then they made it a prison. At least they don't waste material." Minato grumbled.
"Just people's lives." Minato grumbled as they raced away from the newly opened tunnel toward the third and final entrance way.
The pair of devils broke through the brick barrier like before and slipped into the tunnel before rushing down the length of the dark tunnel. Were it not for their devil physiology they would not be able to see at all in the darkness. Even then the tunnel was so dark that it became disorienting as they ran.
With a slight curve and incline, they soon lost any sight of the light behind them, though they kept running and running.
It felt like hours, though was much more likely far less than that. Eventually though a pale light could be seen at the end of their path.
An exit, partially covered in overgrowth awaited them and a standing in the middle a single woman in the armor of Grayfia's squadron.
Minato glanced at the defector beside him as she let out a sigh. She must have been worried that whoever she had posted here would have been caught.
"Mazzina was a part of the team I set to ambush my brother. If she is here then even if my father realized what happened, it's likely that they completed their mission." Grayfia said with joy, clear in her voice.
"Commander! It's an ambush!" The woman screamed suddenly as she evidently heard Grayfia's voice echo down the tunnel.
At that the woman's body lifted up, clearly being hung by her neck as a trio of devils dropped into the view in front of the mouth of the tunnel. Rather than slow down Grayfia put on more speed and pushed herself forward toward the obvious ambush ahead of them. Minato followed right after her.
A flash of a black blade and the hanging woman was slain by the devil in the center. A man with silver hair much like Grayfias. The sadistic grin on his face and bloody burns on the side of his head were nothing like Grayfia's flawless beauty though.
"Sister, if you wanted to have me killed you should have done it yourself. Your little girl scouts didn't quite stack up, even with that bomb that they sprung on me. Dad says he'll see you soon by the way. I doubt that though." Euclid mocked as he stepped on the decapitated head of the woman he had just killed.
The devils beside Euclid charged forward toward Minato and Grayfia though their focus was set on the blond. It seemed they intended to leave Grayfia in her brother's hands.
As Minato deflected the first attack he lashed out a foot and planted it into the other's chest keeping both at a distance so that they couldn't overwhelm him. He surprised both of them by thrusting his left hand behind him and displacing his attack into the back of the larger of his two assailants.
He could only frown as the attack was weakened by his use of displacement. He was still not recovered enough to use both at full power. The man tanked the attack. It hurt him and pitched him forward into the ground but did little actual damage to him.
The man's partner only hesitated for a brief moment as well before advancing on Minato once again.
Meanwhile Grayfia had engaged her brother. She had always been more of a caster type in battle but she could hold her own with the blade. At least against most opponents.
Leveling her hands out with her palms down, Grayfia created a pair of razor sharp swords with a mere thought forged entirely of magical ice. She didn't give her brother a chance to prepare himself as she threw herself forward to try and kill him.
Euclid stepped back and smoothly avoided the freezing blades of his sister as they sliced the air inches from his nose. His lips parted as he let loose with a laugh.
"Are you sure this is how you want to fight me sister? Don't you think it's a bit reckless to come at me in my own element?" Euclid asked, taunting as he continued to simply dodge and avoid the strikes from Grayfia.
"I have always been the better out of the two of us in a fight, Euclid. No matter the medium." Grayfia scowled.
"Maybe once that was true, and you are a better spell caster there is no doubt. It has been quite some time since we fought like this though."
Grayfia pushed forward in her assault even more, feigning an attack toward his face only for her second blade to slice at his stomach. It was too sudden for him to properly move out of the way.
The black blade came down and crashed against the ice sword. Grayfia was unworried, her magical constructs despite being made of ice could be as durable as steel.
The black blade shattered her sword like glass pulling a gasp of shock from her as she fell back to avoid his follow up attack. Not quite fast enough though as her brother's sword bit into her side just above her hip cutting a bloody slash nearly to her navel.
Minato heard Grayfia cry out as she stumbled back and tried to weave between the almost lazy strikes of her brother's sword. Blood had already covered her left hand as she tried to put pressure on the wound while still dodging his attacks.
He drove his stolen sword through the guard of the devil attacking him and directly into their chest before tearing it to the side and carving a gaping wound though him. With a kick, Minato sent his dying opponent into his other foe to knock him off balance.
With a brief gap he rushed to help Grayfia, just as he saw Euclid shatter Grayfia's other blade and pull back for a stab.
"This wondrous weapon devours demonic power, the perfect weapon to handle you, dear sister." Euclid said with a vile grin on his face.
As Euclid's arm extended though, Minato's own sword fell, only a moment faster, severing the flesh and bone just below the elbow.
Euclid screamed as his stolen sword clattered to the ground along with the hand still clutching it. He fell back and Minato let him as he cast his borrowed sword aside to reclaim his stolen sword and wrap his other arm around Grayfia to help her up.
The pair stared across at Euclid as his surviving comrade returned to his side. Truth be told they could continue to fight, but the injury that Euclid had just suffered needed medical attention and the same was true for Grayfia's.
Euclid's subordinate rapidly formed a magical circle and teleported them away causing Grayfia and Minato to let out a sigh of relief.
"We must be far enough from Ahris to teleport now. There is an abandoned village not far from here that we can recover at." Grayfia said through gritted teeth as she tried to tamp down on another groan of pain.
"I'll make the circle, you take control after that." Minato said.
Circles used to teleport thankfully used a comparatively small amount of power to create and use especially now that he could focus on a singular thing. As he surrendered control of his spell to Grayfia their demonic power briefly passed between one another.
A similar soothing sensation to once before, back when they had gone together on that fateful mission to the territory of the Fallen Angel's Grigori. Both felt it a gentle embrace beyond the physical, felt in their very cores.
As soon as it came it was gone and the pair were whisked away in a flash of light to appear in the abandoned village Grayfia had mentioned.
The village was far more than simply abandoned. Some skirmish had occurred here. Most of the homes showed at least some form of battle damage. Others were completely devastated.
"Where to?" Minato asked Grayfia as he slipped an arm behind her knees and picked her up bridal style.
"That green house. The front door is trapped and the back door is barricaded but the cellar entrance on the side should still be passable." Grayfia said.
Minato nodded, hurrying along. The woman in his arms had become increasingly pale. The wound was not especially deep but it was long and bled badly even as she tried to stem the flow.
They would need to heal using magic otherwise she was truly in serious trouble. Peeking down at the injury as he moved, Minato forced back a grimace so as not to worry her even more. She had pressed both hands tightly against the cut but blood oozed between her fingers and drenched both of their shirts scarlet red.
The cellar doors were open and waiting for him when he found the green house she had mentioned. Despite Grayfia saying it should be safe he was still cautious as he entered. Plenty of other things had gone unexpectedly today.
She was right though. Nothing but an old set of stairs leading down into a cellar mostly filled with canned vegetables grown in a garden nearby. Rows of tools used by farmers as well as a few random pieces of furniture covered in tarps.
Toward the back another staircase ascended up into the house proper.
"Close the doors and slide the bar across. it will at least be loud if someone comes for us that way." Grayfia advised.
It took some awkward shifting but he managed it even while carrying the woman in his arms. The grunts and soft moans of pain she let out told him it's wasn't flawless though.
They moved up the stairs into the ground floor of the house. A dozen cots filled the former living room of the home. Every bit of space had been planned to be used for Grayfia's squadron and himself during the escape.
"Resting point before defecting?" He asked.
"Mmm," She agreed with a grunt.
"You had to have a medical station prepared too." He guessed. She just seemed the type to be prepared if the worst happened.
"Kitchen." She forced out while clenching her teeth shut.
"Right."
Minato moved to the kitchen, the table had been cleared off and medical supplies sat ready on the counter beside it. Perfect for treating the wound enough that he could try to heal her magically.
As she was though they needed to get the bleeding stopped before they could focus on healing, which meant she would have one hell of a scar.
Not as bad as her brother though, between her squadron's ambush and Minato taking his arm, Euclid had lost every bit of the beauty that his sister still possessed, even exhausted and slowly bleeding out.
Minato laid Grayfia onto the table and set to work getting the materials he would need immediately before pausing and looking at the woman for a moment.
She glanced up at him as she realized he had stopped.
"What?"
"I need to take your shirt off of you." He said.
"Just do it. We aren't children Minato." Grayfia bit out causing him to go to work.
The woman whimpered faintly as he worked the blood soaked fabric off of her disturbing the injury as he did so. He couldn't help but admit how tough she was though. Taking a blow from a sword was one thing, horrible either way, but Minato's sword was designed so that the blade was especially effective against devils.
Not only did it destabilize and essentially absorb demonic power it also was especially damaging when it cut a devil. It caused the injury to sting and burn with a feeling of acid lacking only the corrosion that acid caused.
With gauze in hand and plenty of material to clean the injury, Minato set to work, pressing past the cries of pain Grayfia let out as he began working on her side. He had never thought to see Grayfia cry, but he said nothing about the tears running down her cheeks as he worked. Like with the loss of her squadron he wasn't going to judge her for tears during such a painful experience.
It took some time and Minato was soon as covered in blood as Grayfia was. The bleeding was stopped though. Without even bothering to move her, Minato removed his own shirt and climbed onto the table with her as he set to work healing her to the best of his ability.
He didn't say anything as Grayfia undid the wrappings for her breasts and even began removing her pants. He simply followed suit and removed his own.
The more skin contact that they shared the more effective it would be and the faster she would heal. It didn't stop his body from acknowledging the nude form of the beauty wrapped up in his arms tightly.
"Sorry." He apologized softly knowing she could tell what he was apologizing for.
"It is only natural. We would be cleaning ourselves off before any business like that anyway." She joked. Some of her strength was already returning to her.
Minato chuckled before they both fell into a comfortable silence. With little else to look at they soon found one another's eyes and smiled.
"Thank you, for coming for me, Grayfia." He all but whispered with emotion thick in his voice as he suddenly felt the weight of his freedom settle on him. The freedom from the torture and abuse he was being subjected to within Ahris.
"You of all people don't deserve that sort of punishment." She whispered back.
"I wanted to say that we are even now, but then I was injured again and you are healing me just like back then." Grayfia added.
Minato chuckled. It was a lot like that mission so long ago.
"That feels like a lifetime ago now." He said.
"It might as well have been. So much has changed."
"So much is still exactly the same."
She nodded to that.
"Grayfia…why did you come to rescue me?" He asked, having thought about it a little ever since she slew the Captain before his eyes.
Her crimson eyes stared back into his sapphire and he knew his answer before she even spoke. Still he listened.
"You are among the only decent devils I know in the underworld. Even my own father and brother have lost themselves to the same madness that grips the Maou and their families. When I saw Euclid with your sword he bragged about how the man he took it from had given you to Ahris to be broken like all the rest…I couldn't let them do that to you." She explained as best as she could.
Minato smiled softly at that.
"You sought me out this time, but we keep running into one another either way. It almost feels like fate." He chuckled softly as he watched her nose scrunch up in distaste at the notion.
"Fate is a figment of shared idiocy." She said simply.
"Maybe but still here we are again. Holding one another and completely…well." He motioned toward their nude forms with his head.
"Covered in blood?" She asked, getting a snort of laughter from the man.
"You know what I mean. Ever since we were children and we met…I have thought about you occasionally. Not looking for a moment like this, just…" He trailed off as he saw the small smile on her face grow.
"I know what you are saying Minato."
"Heh, good so don't hate me for this then." He pressed forward and caught her lips with his own.
She didn't pull away, simply enjoying the kiss with him until they broke apart a moment later.
Grayfia nodded and pressed her forehead against his own.
"There is something, Minato but now isn't the time. Besides I said we need to be clean. There is a running shower upstairs." She leaned back.
Clearly having healed enough for the wound to fully close. There was a red line running from her belly button across her side and down to her hip now, the only flaw in what would be perfect smooth white skin.
If it wasn't covered in drying blood.
"Come on. We need a distraction from everything but not till after we clean up." Grayfia said as she slid off the table and strode toward the stairs uncaring of her nudity.
Minato stared after her as she went before nodding. They might be using sex with one another to distract themselves from the losses experienced recently or time spent in Ahris, but that didn't mean it didn't have meaning.
Minato didn't truly believe in fate any more than Grayfia did, but he did believe he had felt a connection to the beautiful woman since the very first moment he had met her and by now it was more than enough to send him scaling the stairs after her with ease.
That is that for this chapter. Yes it is a bit sudden that Grayfia and Minato are jumping straight to sex, however they both acknowledge it is as much a distraction as anything truly emotional.
That being said both have had an interest in one another since childhood despite the long periods between their meetings.
Couple that with the amount of death that the pair have seen in recent years and their own near deaths in recent times it is best to strike while the iron is hot so to say.
They might not love one another at this point but the seeds are there and they both see one another in a light that no other devil fills for them.
Anyway I hope you liked it.
Till Next Time.
