Episode 9: Left Behind

Chronos was attacking the Waverider in order to capture the team. "Not this schube again." Randy complained. "Captain, Chronos has breached the starboard hatch." Gideon informed. "How is that possible?" Dipper asked. "Clearly, he's received some new toys from his Time Master friends since last time." Ben said. "Gideon, seal the bulkheads from here until…" Before Rip could finish his command Chronos blasted the door open and boarded. "Come on guys let's do this." Star said as her hands started glowing. "Right." Randy, Ben, Steven, and Mabel said as they were getting ready to fight. "Guys if we fight on the Waverider, we could destroy the entire ship!" Dipper argued. "Are you not paying attention to what's happening right now?" Mabel countered. Chronos soon arrived and continued to shoot. "Fall back! Get to the Jumpships!" Rip ordered. Rip and the others retreated. "You sure it was a good idea leaving the Terminator on the bridge?" Steven asked. "Don't worry." Rip assured him. "Gideon has lockdown protocols which…" "Have been overridden, Captain. Chronos is utilizing superior Time Master technology. I cannot countermand his orders."

Danny, Kim, and Jenny were walking back to the Waverider ready to leave. "1958's swell and all, but I miss the Internet…and cell phones." Kim said. Suddenly the Waverider was taking off. "Uh…what are they doing?" Jenny asked. Danny transformed and tried to fly after it. "Hey. Hey!" But the ship time jumped before he could reach it. "Where did they go?" Jenny asked. "Better question: why did they leave us?" Kim asked.

"He's time jumping the ship." Rip said. "The others are stuck in 1958." Steven added. "Let's go, we have to stop Chronos." Ben said. "Not an option." Rip said. "Gideon, open the doors on my mark. The rest of you, get to a Jumpship and escape." "We're not abandoning you." Steven argued. "No, you are obeying a direct order from your captain." Rip countered. "Now Gideon." Rip charged in along with Dipper and Mabel (who snuck in without him noticing) while the remaining 4 heroes overheard the fight. "So we're obviously not going to sit this out right?" Ben asked. "Of course not." Steven said. They burst through the door ready to fight only to see that Rip was hurt and Chronos, Dipper, and Mabel were gone. "What's going on? Where's Chronos?" Randy asked. "He absconded with the twins on a Jumpship" Gideon answered. "Why would Chronos take Dipper and Mabel?" Steven asked. Before anyone could venture a theory, the alarms went off. "We have a more pressing matter." "Strap yourselves in." Rip ordered. They did as they were told as the ship continued to shake. "What's going on?" Steven asked. "Chronos has sabotaged the navigation system." Rip explained. "Unless we can find a way to alter the course, we'll be trapped in the Temporal Zone for all time. Gideon…" "I cannot override Chronos' commands." Just then Gideon's systems shut down and the Waverider started falling. "What did you do?" Ben asked. "I rebooted Gideon." Rip answered. "Until she's fully operational, we're free-falling through time."

Back in 1958, Danny, Kim, and Jenny were waiting for the ship to return. "We just have to stay calm. Wherever they time jumped…whenever…they'll come back to this exact same moment and pick us up." Danny assured them. After a few minutes the girls got tired and decided to leave. "They're not coming back. Let's go." Kim said as she started walking. "Come on guys they could be back any second. We should stay here so they know where to find us." Danny argued. "In case you forgot Savage is still here. We need to move before he finds us." Kim countered. "She's right let's go." Jenny added. The trio soon made their way to find a place to stay.

They found an apartment to stay in while Jenny worked on a way to contact the rest of the team. "What are you doing?" Danny asked. "I'm using parts from my person and Kim's kimmunicator to create a beacon so we can contact the Waverider." Jenny answered. "If it works then we can get out of here." When she turned it on, it sparked and fell apart. "Don't worry it'll work. I just need to fix a few kinks and…" "Jenny stop." Kim said. "The beacon is a waste of time. They're not coming back and it's not because the Waverider is broken, or they're lost, or they can't find us. It's because they were probably captured or killed by Chronos. And the sooner that you accept that, the sooner you can move on…the sooner we can all move on."

"So what? We're just supposed to give up?" Danny asked. "On being rescued, yeah." Kim answered as she made her way to the door. "Where are you going?" Jenny asked. "I can't stay here. I need to find somewhere I belong in this time." "Kim wait." Danny said. "If you two want to stay fine just make sure to keep a low profile." With those final words Kim left to find a place for herself. Danny and Jenny would have no choice but to work together to find a way to live in 1958.

3 months later

Danny was at school taking notes. "Which brings us to the works of William Shakespeare. Now in the story of Macbeth, Macbeth is told a prophecy from 3 witches that he will become king. But another prophecy says that he should be afraid of who?" Danny raised his hand. "Macduff." "Well done Mr. Fenton." Once the day came to an end Danny left to return to his and Jenny's apartment. Jenny had just returned from her job at the library and was getting ready to recharge with some solar power. "I'm so glad I thought of this. Without solar power I'd be nothing but an overgrown paperweight." Just then Danny walked through the door. "Hey Jenny, I brought you some oil." "Thanks. So how was school?" "Ok, I guess. You know when we first wound up here, I thought we wouldn't last a day here on our own. But after 3 months I'm happy to say I was wrong." Just then they heard a beeping coming from Jenny. "Is that what I think it is?' Jenny asked as she revealed the beacon. "It's picking up a signal." They rushed out of the apartment to see if it was true.

Just then the Waverider arrived and prepared to land. "Shiby-washo, kim-so-so." Randy said before he covered his mouth in shock. "You are suffering from linguistic disorientation." Rip explained. "It's a side effect of such a severe time jump." "I can't hear anything." Steven said. "It'll pass." Rip assured him. "What?" "Gideon, status update?" Rip requested. "I am detecting a time beacon signaling the Waverider. It is from 1958 but 3 months later than when we left." the A.I. explained. "3 months later?" Ben asked. "The temporal navigation system was compromised and did its best to return us as close as possible to our original destination." Once the ship landed the doors opened and Danny and Jenny were greeted by Star and Ben. "Sorry were late." the former mewman princess said.

They boarded the Waverider happy to be reunited but annoyed that it took so long for them to arrive. "3 months, you left us stranded in 1958 for 3 months." Jenny complained. "That was never my intention." Rip countered. "Well can't we just go back to the moment where you left us and pick up our past selves there?" Danny asked. "You know very well that we can't travel back to events we participated in without time folding in on itself." Rip argued. Jenny sighed "Sorry it's just been very stressful for us. We thought you were all dead." "We almost were." Steven explained. "Chronos attacked us, sabotaged the ship and took Dipper and Mabel." "We need to recover Ms. Possible as well. Where is she?" Rip asked trying to stay focused on the mission. "We don't know. She left shortly after getting stranded." Danny explained. "Gideon, search the timeline for any reference of a Sara Lance, or a blonde vigilante, circa 1958." Rip ordered. "Right away, Captain." "Why did Chronos take Dipper and Mabel?" Jenny asked. "Why didn't he take you all in?" "She has a point." Steven added. "I mean if he was going to take anyone, you'd think it be you." Steven said to Rip. "I'm not sure. But we'll get them back after we find Ms. Possible, wherever she is." Rip said.

Langly, Virginia 1958

A team of CIA agents were returning from a raid in Afghanistan. "Well done men." Director Dulles said. "Thank you, sir. But all credit goes to our newest recruit." Agent Hamilton explained. That new recruit was none other than Kim Possible. "Excellent work as always Agent Possible." Dulles complimented. "I admit I was apprehensive at first but you've proven yourself to be a valuable asset to this organization." "It's my pleasure sir." Kim said.

On Chronos' ship, Dipper and Mabel were handcuffed to a pole nearby while Chronos was looking at the monitor. "Uh, hello?" Mabel said trying to get his attention. "What do you want with us?" But Chronos wasn't listening. "A UFO sighting in 1958 has created a time anomaly." the bounty hunter explained. "It looks like your friends survived." "So they're back in 1958?" Dipper asked. Chronos still wasn't responding to them. "Listen I know you've been hunting us from the start and you don't like us very much but could you at least tell us why were here?" Dipper asked. "Back on the Waverider, you could've taken Rip. But you took us instead. Why?" Mabel was getting tired of being ignored. "Look if you're gonna arrest us you could at least tell us what's going on." Chronos turned around. "You should have figured it out by now." He then removed is helmet to reveal the face of the time pirate John Vallor. "After all you two are the ones who ruined my life."

Dipper and Mabel couldn't believe their eyes. Last they saw the former captain they left him stranded in 1786. "What is this." Dipper asked. But Valor didn't answer he just continued to stare at them. "I think we deserve an explanation here." Mabel added. "You deserve nothing after what you did to me." Valor said angrily. "This coming from the guy who tried to kill us and steal our ship." Dipper argued. "Rip originally to kill you but we convinced him not to." said Mabel. "Well you should've let him. Could've done me a favor."

He then thought back to that day. "So what's the plan?" Valor asked. "Take me out in the middle of nowhere, where no one can find the body?" "No, you're going to spend the rest of your days here where you can't do any harm." Dipper answered. Valor then turned to Mabel. "I got to hand it to you kid, I never would've expected you'd be able to pull a fast one on me." "Yeah, a lot of people have been underestimating me lately." The twins then made their way back to the ship. "This won't stop me." Valor said. "I will get out of this and you and your friends will pay."

"Ok maybe we took things too far when we left you there but we were planning to come back for you when the mission was over." Mabel said. "Seems like you lost track of time." Valor countered. "Well, how long were you…?" "By the time they found me, I'd nearly lost my mind. I was so weak; I was strangling rats to survive." Valor explained. "When who found you?" Dipper asked. "The Time Masters." Valor explained. "They took me to a place called the Vanishing Point; time doesn't exist there the way it does on Earth. I've spent lifetimes being restored by them, training by them, fighting by them…being reborn." "And, uh, when exactly did they give you your, uh, mission orders?" Mabel asked. Valor smiled "You think I was hunting you and your friends because the Time Masters made me? They barely had to ask."

After a few hours of searching Rip finally found a lead on Kim's whereabouts. "Alright everyone we now know where Ms. Possible is located but getting in there won't be easy." Rip then showed them a projection of CIA Headquarters. "Kim joined the CIA?" Danny asked shocked. "I guess it makes sense I mean where else could a crime-fighting teen feel at home in the past?" Ben added. "Ok so we're just supposed to walk into the headquarters of one of the most secretive organizations on Earth and take Kim back to the ship?" Jenny asked. "Of course not." Rip answered. "Here's what we're going to do."

"Listen we're sorry ok. Maybe leaving you in the forest wasn't the best idea but killing us won't make you feel better." Dipper said. Valor smiled. "I'm not gonna kill you. I'm gonna take a trip back to Gravity Falls and visit your uncle." He then pulled up an image of Dipper and Mabel with Stan. "The beautiful thing about time travel is I get to kill him more than once. I can kill Stan in front of you, go back in time, kill him in front of you again and again and again." "Leave him alone." Mabel argued. Just then the ship's AI chimed in. "Sir, several anomalies in the timeline suggest that the Waverider has touched down in Langly Virginia." "Chart a course." Valor ordered as he turned to the twins. "I used to think the most beautiful thing on Earth was power, now I know it's vengeance."

The team arrived at CIA headquarters where they attempted to rescue Kim. "Don't worry Rip, I'll turn into 'Cannonbolt' burst through the walls we'll grab Kim and get out of here." Ben suggested. "Extricating Kim from the likes of the CIA requires stealth." Rip said. "So no powers unless absolutely necessary." They approached the entrance and saw 2 security guards. Star and Randy snuck behind them snuck behind them and knocked them out. "Nice." Danny complimented. "Jenny, Star, and Randy will stay here and guard the entrance while the rest of us will split up and search the facility top to bottom until we find Kim." Rip ordered. The team shared a collective nod as they went their separate ways.

After a few minutes of searching Rip found Kim walking down the hall. He quickly grabbed her and pulled her into a supply closet nearby. Rip held his hand over her mouth as she tried to call for help. "Kim it's me." Rip said. Kim calmed down after seeing Rip's face. "Rip?" "I'm here to bring you back. I'm so sorry that it's taken me so long." "Who else is here?" "The entire team. Well, except for Dipper and Mabel. I'll explain everything back on the…" Before Rip could finish, Kim punched him in the face and exited the closet holding his arm behind his back. "There's been a breach, search the building for intruders." Kim shouted to some of her fellow agents.

Danny, Steven, and Ben were each looking around the compound for Kim when suddenly an alarm went off. Guards immediately tranquilized them. Back at the entrance, Randy, Star, and Jenny were growing concerned for their friends. "I don't like this. They should've been back by now." Jenny said concerned. "Tell me about it." Randy added. "Come on guys, I'm sure their fine." Star reassured them. Just then some tranquilizer darts were shot into Randy and Star's necks causing them to go unconscious. The guards then surrounded Jenny who raised her hands in surrender.

They were then gathered to the main hall where they were greeted by an army of agents and Kim. "Kim?" Jenny asked confused. "Why are you here?" Kim asked. "Kim what's wrong with you?" Ben asked. "You shouldn't have come here." Kim retorted. "Yeah, I'm starting to realize that." Danny added. "We came here to rescue you." Star said. "I don't need to be rescued. I'm happy here." Kim argued. "Look if this is about leaving you behind that wasn't our fault." Steven said. "That doesn't matter anymore." Kim said. "Until we figure out what to do with you, you will all be spending time in one of our specially designed cells."

They were soon taken to a special cell made with reinforced glass walls that could only be opened by someone with clearance. "Well that was a disaster." Randy complained. "Don't worry. We just need a little more time to get through to her." Rip said trying to assure his team. "Do Time Masters not understand what it means to be thrown into a cage or…?" Ben asked. "No, no, no. It's called 'time drift.'" Rip explained. "When one spends too long in an alien timeline, one loses ties with one's former self, their former identity." Danny's eyes then widened upon hearing this. "Oh my god. That explains it." "Explains what?" Jenny asked. "My powers." Danny explained. "I haven't been able to use them lately it's like they went dormant. I mean didn't you noticed that I haven't been going ghost for 3 months?" "I just thought you were trying to maintain your cover." Jenny said. "So what now? Are we just supposed to sit here until we get dissected by the CIA?" Steven asked. "I'm not going out like that." Ben said. "I'd rather go down fighting." Rip then got an idea upon hearing this. "That's it. Hey guards let us out." "What are you planning?" Star asked. "We're going to get through to Kim the only way we can."

Valor was gearing up for his battle against the team. "You can't do this." Mabel argued. "Their using you. You have to realize that." Dipper said. "Do you really think that the Time Masters will let you get your revenge once you turn Rip over to them? I mean come on once they get what they want they'll toss you aside." "The way you tossed me aside?" Valor asked? "We were just trying to protect our friends." Mabel said. Dipper sighed. "Look I know what we did to you was wrong. But revenge won't fix anything." "I disagree." Valor said as he put on his helmet.

Rip and the others were face to face with some agents, Kim, and Director Dulles. The director the approached Rip ready to get some answers. "So Mr. Hunter." "Captain, as point of fact." Rip corrected. "I'm hoping you're request to meet is so you can provide us with some answers." "I'm sorry to disappoint you but I cannot disclose the information of our origins. But I would like to explain how much Kim means to me and my comrades." "She means a lot to me and the CIA as well. And as you can see, she has chosen to remain here." "I understand that. But I would like to propose an offer to get her back." Dulles raised an eyebrow in interest. "What did you have in mind?" he asked. "Ms. Possible faces off against a member of my team. If she wins, she can stay and we'll tell you everything you want to know and more. If she loses, she comes with us and you have to let us go." Dulles was intrigued by this offer. "Well I must say that does sound interesting." After a minute of thinking, Dulles made his decision. "Alright you've got a deal." He then gave the signal for Kim to approach. "So who are you gonna choose?" "I nominate Ms. Butterfly." Rip answered. "Me?" Star asked shocked. "Star?" the others asked? "Kim was able to help Star get her magic under control. I believe she can help Kim remember who she is." Star stepped forward without hesitation. "I'll do it."

Dipper and Mabel struggled to escape but their cuffs were too tight. "We have to warn the others. Dipper said in angst. Mabel then got an idea. "Dipper, see if you can help me reach my bobby pin." Dipper nodded and worked with Mabel to get the pin out of her hair. After a few minutes of struggling they finally got the pin and used it to unlock the cuffs. After sharing a high five the twins made their way to CIA headquarters.

The main hall was set up for a fight between Kim and Star. "Kim, I know you don't want to hurt me." But Kim just lunged at Star and punched her in the face. "I think I do." she responded. Star responded with a roundhouse kick to Kim's stomach. Kim tried to punch back but Start grabbed her arm and threw her across the room. "Remember that move. You showed it to me." But Kim wouldn't go down easily. She jumped behind Star and kicked her to the ground. She then pinned her down. "Kim please this isn't you. You're Kim Possible. Teen hero who can do anything. Please don't do this." Star begged. Kim stopped her punch and looked at her friend. She was starting to remember who she was. "Star…" Before she could continue there was an explosion. Chronos had entered the building.

The agents tried to fight back but Chronos' future tech and weapons proved to be too much for them to handle. "What is going on here?" Dulles asked Rip. "To put it simply he's a bounty hunter who's been hunting us for months." Rip answered. "Listen you can't defeat him without our help. Let us go." Dulles was hesitant but reluctantly agreed and undid their cuffs. "Fine, but when this is over, we're gonna have a talk."

Kim and Star got up and charged at Chronos. Kim punched him while Star fired a narwhal blast. Ben turned into 'Cannonbolt' and rolled into him. Chronos managed to fire a blast at Rip. Seeing that his captain was in danger Danny focused on transforming. "I'm going ghost." he shouted as he turned into his ghost self. He then proceeded to fire a series of echto-blasts from his hands at Chronos. "Ninja Tengu Fireball." Randy shouted as a ball of fire hit Chronos' blaster. Steven threw 2 shields and Rip started firing his blaster to distract Chronos while Jenny's arm turned into a giant hammer that pounded Chronos to the ground. The team surrounded the bounty hunter as they prepared to finish him off. "Stop." Dipper and Mabel shouted as they arrived. "Don't do it." Mabel said. "Guys, your ok." Steven said delighted to see his friends. "I'm sorry Don't kill Chronos?" Rip asked. "He's not Chronos." Dipper explained. "Take off his helmet." Ben approached Chronos and removed his helmet only for him and the others to be surprised to see John Valor's face. "Oh my God." Rip said in shock. "There is no God." Valor said as he charged at Rip. Only to be blasted and knocked out by Danny.

Rip and Kim were with Dulles trying to explain the situation. "I imagine you have a few questions about what happened here." Rip said. Dulles sighed and began to venture a theory. "That bounty hunter showed up with weapons that even the Department of Defense couldn't have thought up and then you and your friends fight back with weapons and abilities far beyond anything I've ever seen, I assume that's because you're all from the future." Kim nodded. "I was stranded here and needed a place to stay and this was the only place where I felt that I could be me." "Well we did appreciate your service Ms. Possible but I have a feeling these people need you more than we do." Dulles said. "You're all free to go and your secrets shall be kept safe here. Consider it a thank you for helping us." Kim smiled. "Thank you, sir." she said as she and Rip left.

On the Waverider Valor (now stripped of is armor and weapons) was currently in the brig. You think this is all over? I will kill every single one of you. I will watch you all suffer." Rip then muted the cell as Valor continued to scream. "So this has been one really messed up day." Randy commented. Steven then turned to Rip. "And you had no idea that Valor was Chronos?" "The Time Masters kept the true identities of their bounty hunters secret from everyone but the council." "So we ended up creating the guy who's been hunting us and who killed Professor Boardman." Kim said. "That would be the case yes." Rip said. "So what now?" Ben asked. "We keep him in the brig until further notice."

The team then gathered on the main deck as Rip plotted. "So where are we going next?" Steven asked. "2147." Rip answered. "Mere decades before Vandal Savage conquered the world." Jenny looked confused. "Wait I thought you didn't know where he was." "Yeah, you said Savage had been lost to history." Danny added. "Not world-changing history." Rip said. "Records of the period are scarce, but I've always known that Vandal Savage can be located in 2147." "So why didn't you tell us this sooner?" Kim asked. "Because that period of history is fraught with more peril than I was willing to risk." Rip answered. "We have no choice but to stop Vandal Savage in 2147…or to die trying." The team exchange glances before coming to a decision. "Well we've come this far. Might as well see it through to the end." Ben said. Rip smiled and put in the coordinates. "Gideon, plot a course for Kasnia Conglomerate…the year 2147." The ship then took off and made it's way to the future.
