(In the Human world)

It was a friday afternoon, and Camila was currently preparing dinner with Vee. Every friday since Luz started college the three of them plus Amity and Masha would get together for a family dinner. Normally Luz would be helping them but for some reason both her and Amity were late.

Vee kept glancing at the clock, "They're very late today."

Camila looked at the clock as well and saw that her adoptive daughter was right. "Well Luz probably got caught up with school work."

"Are you worried?" Vee asked.

Camila shook her head, "No, I'm sure they're fine!"

The doorbell rings.

"Come in!" Camila yelled.

The door opened and Masha walked in, "Hello, Nocedas!"

"Masha! You're here." Vee stopped and ran to hug her partner.

Masha returned the hug, "Where's the married couple?"

"Running late…" Camila replied.

As if on cue Luz and Amity arrived, "Sorry we're late." Luz yelled as she walked in.

"Did something happen?" Vee asked.

Amity nodded, "Yeah, when we came through the portal we found a bunch of these." Amity went into her bag and dumped a bunch of contraptions on the table.

Camila walked over to the table and saw the contraptions. "Are these what I think they are?"

Amity nodded, "Yep, traps."

"And we know who set them…" Luz chimed in.

Vee's expression dropped which concerned Masha.

Camila sighed and rubbed her temples, "Jacob again…"

Both Amity and Luz nodded.

Masha immediately recognized that name "Jacob? That weird conspiracy guy who thinks witches came from Mars?" they asked.

"Yeah," Luz answered, "He trapped Vee in one of these a long time ago and every once in a while after that he tries to set them up by the portal. Hoping he'll be able to catch her or someone from the Boiling Isles."

Masha looked at Vee with worry in their eyes, "Jacob knows what you are?"

"Well kinda, he knows that my kind exists but he doesn't know what my human form looks like."

Masha relaxed a little hearing that but was still concerned

Camila came up to Masha and placed a hand on their shoulder, "I'll explain it all to you later, for now let's eat."

Masha nodded and they all started to eat. After they finished dinner they sat at the table and talked for the next hour. After a while Luz and Amity went back to the Boiling Isles and Masha and Vee cuddled on Camila's couch. As Camila was cleaning up the kitchen at some point Vee fell asleep with her head on Masha's chest with Masha running their fingers through Vee's hair. Masha however kept thinking about what they were told earlier. The fact that Jacob not only knew what Vee but he was also actively trying to catch her. Just the thought of him doing that made thier blood boil.

"You okay?" Masha heard Camila ask.

Masha nodded their head, "Hey, how often does Jacob try to set traps by the portal?"

"This is the first time in a while he's tried. That's kinda why Vee never told you about what happened back then. We thought he gave up."

"So what exactly happened?" Masha asked

"Well…" Camila started to explain but elected to give Masha the short version, "Jacob caught Vee when he worked at the museum. Luz told me what happened and I broke her out. That's also the day I learned what she was."

"How did you break her out?"

Camila blushed, "I slapped his stupid face with a slipper."

Masha giggled and kept running their fingers through Vee's hair, "Thinking back I remember when he was telling towns that witches are aliens and they exist. I never put two and two together."

Masha looked at the time and saw how late it was getting, "I probably should go home but Vee looks so comfortable and peaceful."

Camila placed a hand on Masha's shoulder, "You can stay the night if you want."

"Thanks Camila."

Camila left the two on the couch and went upstairs

Masha placed a kiss on Vee's head, "I promise I won't let that loser lay a finger on you." They whispered before falling into a deep sleep.

(THE NEXT DAY)

After Vee and Masha woke up, the partners decided to walk together to the museum where Masha still works. Normally Masha would drive but their car was currently in the shop so driving wasn't an option. As they walked together Masha would occasionally look around both of them thoroughly. This would go on for the entire walk, which eventually caught Vee's attention.

Vee lightly squeezed thier hand. "Masha, you seem distracted. Is everything ok?"

Mahsa starts rubbing the back of their head, "Well..." they started to say before pausing.

"You're paranoid about Jacob leaving traps aren't you?"

Masha nods.

Vee gave Masha a warm expression, "Don't worry! He only leaves them by the portal, if we don't go by that area it will be fine."

"But what if he learns what your disguise is and starts leaving them at our normal hangouts? What if he has you on some hidden camera? What if-" Masha pauses and takes a deep sigh before continuing, "Sorry hun, I know I'm worrying too much."

Vee embraces her partner, "Don't be sorry! You being overprotective is flattering."

Masha returns the embrace, "I just don't want anything to happen to you…"

"I know" Vee replied before placing a kiss on Masha's nose, "I should have told you about all this a while ago."

"It's fine, Camila told me he hadn't tried for a while. There is no way you would know he would randomly try again after so long."

"Yeah, but after Cat's run in with him I should have expected it."

Now Masha was confused, "Huh, what do you mean?"

"Gus told me they had a small issue with him during the fair." Vee explained, "He thought she was an alien. They didn't mention him by name but I figured it was him."

Masha thought about it for a second, "Yeah that does sound like him."

Shortly after the couple arrived at the museum.

Masha sighed, "Whelp, this is my stop."

Vee wrapped her arms around Masha's neck, "I see you after work! Have a good day and don't think too much about this, it will all be okay."

"Alright, See ya later." Masha placed a light kiss on Vee's lips, "Love you hun."

Vee blushes a bit and smiles, "Love you too."

(Later that day)

Masha has just gotten off work. It was a pretty boring but easy day, so all in all they couldn't complain. Masha had sent Vee a text telling her that they would be over to the Noceda residence shortly. However as Masha was walking there she saw Jacob walking with a bag of stuff. Masha immediately a b line for Jacob. As Jacob was walking towards his car Masha grabbed his shoulder, surprising him.

"Huh?!" Jacob turned to see Masha, "Oh! It's you."

"What's in the bag?" Masha asked with a nice tone.

Jacob raised an eyebrow, "Why?"

"Just curious."

Jacob was still confused but decided to tell her, "Well just a bunch of contraptions so I can finally catch that alien witch, so I can finally prove to this town I'm not crazy!"

Masha looks at them, and starts acting unknowledgeable, "These look like the traps that were found around the Noceda Family's property."

"What are you talking about?" Jacob asked

Masha was kinda surprised that Jacob didn't even know who owned the shack but they were also relieved. "I'm talking about that old shack that was bought a few years ago."

"Yes! That place! That's where the Aliens are coming from!" Jacob explained before

Masha without warning punched Jacob in the stomach.

"What… was that for?" Jacob asked in obvious pain.

"My girlfriend's family owns that shack!" Masha exclaimed, "You can keep screaming about aliens all you want but if your traps so much as hurt a hair on her head that punch will feel like a tickle! Am I clear!?"

Jacob, now terrified, just gave Masha a thumbs up.

"Good!" Masha said as they walked off.

Masha meant what they said, they wouldn't let anyone hurt Vee.
