Patriot-112: Not much to say here, but give a big thank you to the first readers who favorited and reviewed this story. For those who got it right on the first try, yes, this is an alternate reality. As for how, and how the other Pyrrha faired in her reality...? Just be patient and I will get to it.

Now, let's continue shall we?

Chapter One

Alternate World, Same Pyrrha

HOW?

That was the number one word on everyone's mind as they went back to their camp, the fire reignited as they sat on the logs to use as chairs, as Team RNJR looked at the girl, who is their long thought dead teammate, classmate, and friend. The most vocal, being the other teammates of JNPR.

"Seriously Jaune, HOW!?" Nora, though happy to see Pyrrha again, was quite skeptical at first. An example being her poking and pinching the poor champion's face for anything off...like say, a rubber mask. Of course, Pyrrha, after finally having enough, stopped Nora by using her polarity on her hammer, which was attached to her belt, and used it to lift her up and away from her, gently mind you, thus confirming it was their Pyrrha.

"Nora, for the fourth and final time... I. DON'T. KNOW!" Jaune said in exasperation, though while happy, was still confused on how it happened, "All I remember was training with the video, thinking about Pyrrha, then got pissed, and when I slashed with my sword, my aura must've been infused with it or something, and then I saw this...tear in the air,"

Ren hummed in thought at that, as he rubbed his chin at that. All the while, the person of the conversation herself, could only blink in confusion at what they were saying.

"Wait...what do you mean by that?" she asked, causing everyone to look at her in shock.

"Wha...Pyrrha you don't...remember?" Jaune said in confusion, shock, and a good deal of worry. Pyrrha looked at the boy she loved, and the bewildered expression on his face.

"What they meant by that, Cereal Girl...," Everyone turned at the voice, and Ruby gave a surprised gasp, as she saw that it was her Uncle Qrow as he walked in from the shadows, "...was that you were killed during the Fall of Beacon."

The Champion's vivid green eyes widened in shock at this.

But before she could say anything, however...

Meanwhile...

"Oh! Whoops! Umm, sister?"

"*Sigh*...of course. I hope the girl doesn't get too much of a headache from this,"

Back with JNPRR

...a massive headache hit Pyrrha, like a freight train landed on it, causing her to grasp her head and making the others greatly worried.

"Pyrrha!?" Jaune said in worry as he gently grabbed both of the redhead's shoulders, as she grunted and whimpered in pain, while everyone else looked on worriedly.

All the while, various images entered her head, some she knew, others she didn't know.

Memories of first seeing Jaune at the amphitheater, then Initiation with them partnering up, and her unlocking his aura.

The rocky point in their relationship, during the time where Jaune was blackmailed by Cardin, after said bully eavesdropped on their conversation, concerning his transcripts, before reconciling soon after.

Then the images showed the most treasured moment of her life. Dancing with Jaune...while said boy wore a dress, due to the bet he made, and honoring it. And also to make her happy.

The Vytal Festival came next and then that moment they had near the cafeteria, before she began to speak to him about her 'destiny', and Jaune, not knowing what was going on, and the accidental use of her semblance on him, when he tried to comfort her.

After that...there was the match between her and Penny, and the end result of that.

Then came the invasion, known in the aftermath as the Fall of Beacon, as Grimm, along with the White Fang, and the hacked Atlesian Knights, attacked all over the city and the school at the same time. And during the thick of it, she saw Ozpin at the tower entrance, and, seeing no other choice, walked toward him, followed quickly by Jaune.

And then the next series of moments came in a flash.

Getting into the pod...

The Golden light of the Fall Maiden powers...

Cinder killing Amber...

She and Jaune escaping from the vault...

Ozpin's defeat, and her decision to go and try to stop her...and then, the kiss she gave to Jaune before sending him away in order to protect him.

Then, her duel with the Fallen Maiden, until she was defeated when Cinder shot her in the heel.

And then...

"Do you believe in destiny?"

"...Yes."

The terrible feeling of the arrow hitting her heart...impossible attempts at breathing, until finally...darkness.

After the images passed, Pyrrha finally snapped her green eyes open again and looked at everyone looking at her in worry. Especially Jaune, who's own expression was borderline frantic. Before he could ask if she was alright, Pyrrha suddenly threw up her arms and wrapped them around the Paladin, before placing her face into the crook of his neck.

This caught Jaune off guard, before he returned the embrace, as he felt her begin to shake uncontrollably, as well as hearing a few sobs.

"Pyrrha? Are you okay?" he said gently as he rubbed her back to calm her down.

"I'm...I-I'm sorry," she whimpered out, making Jaune blink, "...I'm so, so sorry,"

Hearing her say that, made Jaune's eyes widen, before he tightened the embrace.

"Hey, Pyrrha, easy, it's okay...," Jaune comforted, but he felt her shake her head.

"No it's not!" she wailed, "I...I left you alone! I thought I could try to take on Cinder in order to buy time for help to arrive! But...I..."

"Shhh," Pyrrha heard Jaune hush as he began gently rocking her back and forth.

Seeing their teammate in distress convinced both Ren and Nora to immediately join in, as they comforted Pyrrha. Ruby looked on at the scene, a sad smile on her face as she watched Team JNPR, as she remembered her own team...hoping one day they'll be reunited together soon.

After a full minute, Pyrrha managed to get herself under control as the JNPR members' group hug came to an end.

"Do you feel better?" Jaune asked, as his partner wiped her eyes, before nodding and taking a deep breath.

"Yes...," she said, before she frowned, "...but Jaune...there's something you need to know,"

Jaune and everyone else blinked at that.

"What is it?" he asked, as Pyrrha's face turned solemn.

"While I somehow know what happened to me...," she said, before looking into Jaune's eyes, "...that's not how I remember it happening,"

Eyebrows shot up at that.

"What do you mean?" Ren asked, as Pyrrha looked away for a moment before turning to face them.

"Jaune...when I fought Cinder, she wounded me in the ankle, and was preparing to kill me," she said, as Ruby winced, the memory of how Pyrrha died was still seared into her brain. "But...before she could fire the arrow...you came back,"

Now their eyes widened at that.

"W-Wait...what?" Jaune asked, stunned beyond belief, "But...Pyrrha, how did I come..."

"The rocket locker," Pyrrha interjected, "You used it to backtrack to Beacon tower...you landed just before Cinder fired...you tried to protect me but then...you were...,"

The teens all felt a cold chill run down their spines at that. Especially Ruby, considering Jaune was her first friend at Beacon. While said Paladin put it together and his eyes widened in realization and horror.

"I...I died?" he said softly, though Pyrrha still heard as she nodded her head, as fresh tears leaked out.

Jaune was speechless at this, unable to comprehend what his partner just told him.

"But...then how...?" he tried to say, but then Ren spoke up.

"Jaune, you said after you swung your sword, you saw a 'tear' of light in the air, correct?" the green ninja asked, and the Arc nodded.

"Y-Yeah...and then... I-I heard Pyrrha's voice, and pulled her through...and, here she is, alive and well!" he said, and Ren thought pensively, before looking at his two teammates.

"Jaune...I think you somehow opened a portal." he said, making everyone blink.

"A... portal?," said Ruby, and Ren nodded.

"Yes. A portal to an alternate reality," the native of Kuroyuri explained, "It's just something that I've read on, back at Beacon...the Multiverse Theory, a hypothesis based on a collection of different realities that differ from our own view of reality."

He then looked at Pyrrha, who was beginning to look uneasy.

"And if my hunch is correct." he continued, "This Pyrrha, though still the same Pyrrha we all remember, is from a different reality altogether, where instead of her dying...you did, Jaune,"

The group, minus Qrow, were all shell shocked at his declaration.

"So, though she is still the same person we knew...she's just from a different world where Jaune...is gone...?" Nora began, as her face formed into extreme sadness, "Then...our Pyrrha...is still..."

"Don't!"

They all turn to Jaune, who had a determined frown on his face.

"She may be a Pyrrha from a different world," he said before looking at his partner, "But look at her! Despite the differences to her armor...the different weapons...she's still Pyrrha! Our Pyrrha! The one we all know and love! And nothing's gonna change that!"

Pyrrha looked at Jaune in astonishment, and could see the determination in his eyes as he looked at her.

"And one thing is for damn sure," Jaune said, "A second chance has been given, and it's not gonna be wasted,"

Qrow listened to the young Arc speak, before he sighed. Kid's got guts and charisma, but keeping that promise is gonna be a whole other different matter altogether...he learned that the hard way

"Right, so Cereal Girl from another dimension," he said, causing Pyrrha to look at him, "Why don't you explain what happened after your boyfriend was killed by Cinder,"

Both Jaune and Pyrrha blushed at that, while the others looked at Qrow in astonishment.

"You're...taking this rather well...," said Ren as the Veteran Huntsman sighed.

"Kid, I've seen a lot of strange things since I joined Beacon Academy." He said, "And let me tell you, something like alternate realities doesn't really affect me all that much."

The teens decided to just accept that, as Pyrrha continued where she left off.

"After Jaune, my Jaune, was killed, Ruby arrived and the next moment...there was a bright flash of light, and the next thing I knew, I woke up on Patch, with my Ren and Nora there to give me the details on what happened after," she then turned solemn, "And...re-informing me of Jaune being dead. I was a depressional wreck for weeks, until Ruby came to me, and told me about her plan to go to Haven and find Cinder, since that's where she and her team came from. At first, I didn't say anything, and before Ruby was about to leave, I asked her when does she need me."

She took a breather, before continuing again.

"After getting Nora and Ren, and telling them of the situation, we set off on our journey to Haven. Took us six months to get from Sanus to Anima, and when we arrived in the latter, we had to help several towns who were being attacked by Grimm...,"

"Just like us...," said Ruby, and Pyrrha nodded as she looked at Ruby, smiling a bit.

"...Of course, our little Reaper would move ahead of us at times, giving us the occasional scare," she said, causing the three members of Team RNJR to look at their de facto leader, with deadpan expressions, which the said Rose only sheepishly scratched the back of her head.

"Then, we arrived at one particular village, where we learned it was having trouble with a Geist." she continued, "In exchange for dealing with it, I had the local smith make modifications to my armor, as well as using pieces of my old weapon to reinforce and make modifications to Jaune's sword and shield,"

She then proceeded to bring out said sword, which looked like Jaune's modifications, and everyone watched, as she drew the blade, pressed a small button on the grip before it extended, turning the family heirloom into a sword/spear hybrid, much to the teens' astonishment.

"Oooooohhhh!" Nora and Ruby awed at the sight of the weapon.

Pyrrha, despite the situation, couldn't help but giggle.

"Yes, that's exactly the same reaction I got from my Ruby and Nora," she said, and the others blinked at that.

"Wait, Pyrrha," Jaune said, making the former champion look at him, "What about your team?"

Pyrrha blinked before her face became crestfallen at that, making everyone uneasy.

"It was a week after we left the village, and we arrived at the town of Shion, just after the bandits attacked, and the Grimm started to come in," she said, making Team RNJR gasp in horror, "We went into the town, desperately trying to save anyone we could...but then, it came,"

Both Ren and Nora stiffened at that last bit, the two of them already correctly guessing on what it could be, having seen the hoof print at Shion.

However, both Ruby and Jaune didn't know what she meant, but just by the sound of her voice, it must have been something that sounded really terrifying.

"It...?" the former asked, and Pyrrha looked at the leader of their sister team.

"A Nuckelavee...an A-Class Grimm capable of destroying entire villages and small towns on it's own," she said, "Though, this one appeared old, and was covered in a multitude of weapons...combine that with it's already grotesque appearance...it definitely looked like something out of a nightmare,"

Both Jaune and Ruby gulped at the mental image of the said monster of darkness, both hoping to never run into that thing on their way to Mistral.

Pyrrha then looked at Ren and Nora, and could tell by their expressions that they knew what she was talking about.

"I saw how you two reacted to it. You were familiar with it...," she said simply, and the two nodded.

"Yes...," Ren said, "...when I was a child, that same Nuckelavee attacked my home village of Kuroyuri. Me and Nora, who was an orphan long before I met her, were the only known survivors...my parents were not so lucky."

Nora placed a hand on her best friend's shoulder, which the green ninja smiled in gratitude for, before placing his own hand on her's.

"So, what happened between you and the Nuckelavee?" Ruby asked, though she was dreading the answer.

Pyrrha sighed, "Well, despite the fact that it was not alone, as there were still other Grimm, we tried to fight it off," she said, but then frowned, "But I got careless, and was thrown aside against a tree and blacked out. When I came to, the rest of Shion was burnt to the ground, with many of the townspeople dead... I then went looking for the others, but the only thing I could find of them were pieces of their weapons,"

The three members of Team RNJR all felt their stomachs drop at that. Despite the tragedy that befell her version of Team RNJR, Ren was thankful that they didn't run into the Nuckelavee after they arrived at Shion.

He then watched as Pyrrha wrapped her arms around herself, which prompted Jaune to place a hand on her shoulder in comfort.

"I...I began to despair...believing that like Jaune, I failed to protect anyone that I cared about. I...I d-didn't know what to do," she then turned to said Paladin, tears now coming from her eyes in full force, while a smile appeared "But then, I heard your voice, and when I looked up, I saw the portal...and now, here we all are,"

Jaune grabbed Pyrrha into another embrace, who said Mistralian is more than happy to recieve.

"It's okay, Pyrrha," he said, as tears of his own began to drip, "I'm not going anywhere,"

Pyrrha wrapped her arms around her partner just a little tighter, both of them unwilling to let the other go. Their teammates, along with Ruby all smiled. Despite the circumstances, and knowing that while from an alternate world, Pyrrha was still Pyrrha.

However, there was one thing in Ruby's mind as she turned to her Uncle.

"Uncle Qrow, I'm happy that you're here and all," she said, causing the veteran to look at his honorary niece, "But I gotta ask, what are you doing here? Were you following us?"

Qrow blinked at what his niece just asked him, and seeing the looks he was being given by the rest of her friends, sans Pyrrha, who just gave an accusatory glare that said 'Tell them or I will!'.

The man sighed before moving toward a boulder and leaned against it.

"What's your favorite fairy tale?"

"Well, it appears he's going to tell them the abridged version of the tale of our brothers."

"Isn't that a little...early?"

"The sooner they know the better. But of course, they won't find out the WHOLE truth till they have the Relic of Knowledge,"

"Yes, and we all know what happened to that foolish old man because of his hesitancy and passiveness. Of course, we have to make sure his new...vessel doesn't receive the full brunt of the damage."

"Indeed...and them?"

"Safe and outside the estate, all that needs to be done... is for them to be found,"

"Good. And the little ones?"

"Asleep, until the time comes. Hopefully they won't suffer what happened to them in their alternate lives. Especially since I don't have the heart to just destroy them, after all the hard work and love I put into creating them."

"Thank goodness you didn't. No newborn soul deserves to die before it is born in the mortal realm,"

"Hopefully, more in the future will not suffer the same fate,"

Meanwhile

Somewhere else in Anima

The sound of a hammer on metal sounded through the entire estate, as the one who was doing the deed, grunted with effort as they hammered away at the metal, forming it into the familiar shape of a sword blade. He was a male standing just under six feet, his build being lean from all the hammering of hot metal into weapons. The one thing that was the big eye catcher though, where the pair of wings on his back.

They were reminiscent of a bat's wings, but if one looked closely at them, they could make out the presence of shiny scales on the arms of the said appendages. And it also seemed as if he had a long tail, but a closer look revealed that it shared the same scaly features as the wings.

The hammer wielder then stopped his current task before using a pair of tongs to lift and dip his work into a tub of oil. The oil on the surface caught, but it quickly went out before the obvious faunus continued his work, as he dunked it a few times before bringing it out and checking to make sure his work didn't have any deformities, before a smirk of accomplishment appeared on his face.

"Perfect," he mused before placing the work on a rail to hang, and prepare it for grinding, "This order is gonna get me some good lien. That's for sure,"

He then continued on with his work, just enjoying his favorite profession...

BOOM!

...Until he heard that particular sound, causing him to jump and turn his gaze toward the door.

"What the Hell was that!?" he asked no one in particular, before placing his tools and grabbing his own weapon as he headed for the door before opening it and stepping outside. However, as soon as she stepped out, his eyes widened at the sight of three young teens on the ground, beaten and bloodied, and their weapons lying broken beside them.

"Brothers on bikes!" he exclaimed before moving over to check them to see they were alive, and breathed a sigh of relief that each of them still had a pulse.

"Good, they're still alive," he muttered, before turning back toward the building. "Elisa! Get out here, quick!"

His calls were answered as a young woman the same age as him, with Liseran Purple eyes, dark brunette hair in a high ponytail hime style, that reached down to her shoulder blades, and wearing a combat vest over a purple turtle neck t-shirt, dark pants tuck into thigh high boots, came outside. She quickly made her way over to him, and her own eyes widened in alarm.

"Wha...what the hell!?" she gasped in shock, just as more people came from inside the house to see what was going on.

"We need to get them inside!" the Faunus said, "Help me get them into the house!"

Snapping out of her stupor along with the approaching help, the group carefully but quickly picked up the injured teens and carried them into the house. After they were inside, the Faunus looked at the broken weapons before he picked them up and took them into the forge.

"What a night this turned out to be,"

Patriot-112: And more progress on another RWBY fic I neglected for too long. Hopefully those of you who have waited patiently for me, are now satisfied. I can't promise faster updates than this, but know that I haven't forgotten, and will continue to write when I have time from the curse that is LIFE. Until then, Later!
