"Good morning viewers," said Shera Nova on a live newscast. "I'm Shera Nova, here with a celebrity guest you may recognize. Count Crescendo, welcome to Galactic Royal News."

"Hi, Shera. Thanks for having me today," said Crescendo through his auto-tune mic.

"So, Crescendo, I must say when you asked to be on the show today, I was pleasantly surprised. What inspired you to come on the air?"

"Well, as many of you are aware, Conductor came out to try and expose my identity with a musical curse, and unfortunately, it still lingers."

Carmine's wife and daughters watched from behind the cameras as this was going on, while the rest of his family and friends all watched from their devices at home. None of them could believe it when Carmine decided he was going to do the last thing he wanted to do in an effort to break the musical curse. And now, he was going to reveal his identity on intergalactic television! But once he did that, there would be no going back. There had to be another way.

"I can't say I don't feel at fault for this. It wouldn't be the first time someone's done something, well… crazy, trying to find out who I am behind the mask. But I also know that as great as music is, we can't be stuck in this musical curse forever."

Back in the palace, as everyone was watching Carmine on TV, they worried how scared Carmine probably was right now underneath the mask.

"Maybe we're looking at it the wrong way," said Teatra. "Right now, everything's been like a musical, right?"

"Right," said everyone.

"Quick! Someone call the show now!"

Quickly, Anakin got out his phone and called into the newscast. There was no way to know for sure if Crescendo revealing himself would undo the curse, but Anakin wasn't willing to let his brother potentially make the biggest mistake of his life to break a curse that might not break by doing what he was about to do.

Crescendo felt like he might start coughing up butterflies if he waited any longer. So, he took a breath and spoke again.

"So, the reason I came onto the show is because I want to let everyone know-"

Crescendo was interrupted though when Shera stopped him.

"Hold it! I'm receiving word that someone is calling in with an important message for Crescendo." Shera said. "Put them on the air."

"Crescendo, remember me?" Anakin said on the phone.

"Anakin?" Crescendo said. "Yes, I remember you. Did you have a question or something?"

"Yes, I did have a question. We're still in a musical curse, but my question… how do musicals usually end?"

"Well, in many finales to a musical, there's an important lesson to be learned. And in this musical, we learned a lot about how our voices have power, and many put together are much stronger than one." Suddenly, Carmine underneath the mask had an idea.

"Like the many notes in a song." Harmony said, though Carmine couldn't hear her since she was at the palace.

"Your voice definitely has power. My kids and I all continue to be inspired by your voice to this day. And no matter who you are underneath the mask, I know for a fact your family and friends must be proud of you, and I think they'd have to be crazy not to be your true biggest fans."

Underneath his musical persona, Carmine knew Anakin was secretly saying his family and friends were indeed proud of him and loved him so much. And when he hung up, Shera had words of her own.

"Charming words from a charming Jedi and prince. So, Crescendo. What is it you wanted to say?"

Crescendo stood up and said, "I know how to break the curse!"

Crescendo got the light operators to shine a light on him, and the pop star turned off his auto-tune mic, then took a deep breath before singing the first thing that came to his mind and heart.

Crescendo:

It takes more than one voice to make harmony

We all have a choice for our destiny

So if everyone here would just sing with me

We'd all be free in harmony

Lamenta couldn't help but feel so many emotions when she saw her father singing his heart out like that.

"I may have a great voice, but I need more than one if we wanna break this curse." Crescendo sang.

"I'll sing with you!" Lamenta sang, running up and standing beside the pop star.

Lamenta:

It takes more than one voice to make harmony

We all have a choice for our destiny

So if everyone here would just sing with me

We'd all be free in harmony

Crescendo:

Wait! I know that voice, why do I know that voice?

Have you performed in a musical? Or sang in a duet?

Lamenta:

I did. At your last concert Why?

Crescendo:

You were beautiful,

Lamenta:

You too.

Crescendo:

Thank you.

Will you sing with me?

So, Lamenta and Crescendo sang together, and Caroline jumped in to sing as well, and so did Shera.

Crescendo, Caroline, Lamenta, and Shera:

It takes more than one voice to make harmony

We all have a choice for our destiny

So if everyone here would just sing with me

We'd all be free in harmony

But Crescendo could see it was going to take even more than four people singing to really break the curse.

Crescendo (spoken):

Everyone at home, sing along

And so, everyone young and old across the galaxy sang along.

Everyone across the galaxy:

It takes more than one voice to make harmony

We all have a choice for our destiny

So if everyone here would just sing with me

We'd all be free in harmony (Lamenta: We'll be free!)

Crescendo began clapping to the beat, and so did many others as they continued to sing, and have quite a bit of fun doing it too.

It takes more than one voice to make harmony

We all have a choice for our destiny

So if everyone here would just sing with me

We'd all be free in harmony

Crescendo:

Something's going on!

Caroline:

Something's going on!

Lamenta:

Something's going on!

Everyone:

The musical curse has been lifted

People were cheering across the galaxy for a great finale, but also when they found that they could finally just talk again.

Carmine received lots of big hugs from his family when he got home.

"You were very brave out there, Carmine." Shmi said, kissing her son's cheek.

"I'm so proud of you, my little prince." Susy said, also giving Carmine a kiss.

"I can't believe you were really willing to spill your secret to break the curse," said Anakin. "But I'm kinda glad we didn't have to find out if it would. Who knows how crazy things would've gotten."

"I think we've both taken bigger risks before," said Carmine. "Besides, you gave me a critical reminder that musical persona or none, the most important fans I'll ever have are you guys, my family."

"I'm just glad not to be singing and dancing everything," sighed Crosshair.

"You and me both, and that's coming from a musical theater professional." Teatra agreed.

As much fun as musical theater could be, it felt good being able to just talk and do things normally for a little peace and quiet.

However, not quite everyone was happy the musical curse was over.

"La, la, la, la!" Wrecker sang, then groaned. "Ugh! I'm singing off-key again."

Wrecker was probably the only one who wanted the curse to linger on forever, because for once he could sing on-key.

"Don't worry, Wrecker." Carmine said. "You live with several professional singers here. I'll give you some more lessons, and with some time and practice, you'll be singing on-key all on your own, without a magic spell."

"You don't use magic to make your voice sound good?" Hunter said.

Carmine shook his head.

"I've been singing since before I even had my powers." He said.

"It's true," said Qui-Gon. "Do you remember your fourth birthday, Carmine?"

Carmine did remember. That year, when Qui-Gon came to visit him, he got Carmine a toy microphone. Knowing how Carmine was a very talkative baby, especially once he learned how to talk with actual words, he figured Carmine might like a present to teach himself to sing songs to entertain himself. And Carmine did do that a lot as a little boy. Sometimes, he would pretend to do interviews with Fluffy, or pretend to be a comedian and tell jokes to his grandmother to make her laugh when she had a rough day working.

"I still have that little microphone you gave me," said Carmine. "Now Lamenta practices her singing on it."

"It's true!" Lamenta sang into a toy microphone, making the adults laugh from how cute she was.

But Lamenta also had a question.

"Daddy? Do you think you ever will be able to reveal your secret?" she asked.

Carmine had to give that a lot of thought. But, he told his daughter,

"Maybe someday, Lamb. But for now, I'm perfectly fine keeping it secret if it means keeping the family safe. Also… I still can't help worrying how this might affect how people see the royal family."

"Carmine, I don't think anyone would see you or us that differently," said Anakin. "I mean, look at all the good things you did as Count Crescendo."

"Yeah." Gabby pulled out an autographed magazine she saved from when she first met her uncle, which had him on the cover (as Count Crescendo). "You helped raise money for a lot of important charities, and you make so many people so happy with your music. And during the war, you did benefit concerts and made music videos that helped keep people's spirits up."

"You were also the first pop star I became a fan of," said Boba. "And I grew up with pretty much no music the first ten years of my life."

Carmine had to admit, it did feel good knowing he inspired a lot of people, but he also had to confess,

"Well, I also kinda worry I won't be able to perform as Carmine if people know it's me behind the mask," said Carmine. "People look at me and basically see a scaredy-cat version of the Hero with No Fear. Could you see someone like that performing as confidently as Count Crescendo?"

"Technically, we already know it is you on the stage, so we cannot say for sure." Tech said.

"What Tech means," said Mila. "Is that, Carmine, you may pretend to be someone else when you're on stage, but inside you're still you."

"She's right, Carmine." Caroline said. "You've had that confidence in you all along. You just needed a little push to let it out. You have such a wonderful voice, and you've always used it for the sake of helping those in need, and expressing yourself. And because of your voice, my heart is always filled with music."

Caroline kissed her husband then.

"And if the person Count Crescendo is underneath the mask isn't good enough for all those producers and so-called fans," said Qui-Gon. "Then it's their loss. You are a very special man, Carmine. And I couldn't be prouder to call you my son."

"Or I to call you my twin," said Anakin, hugging his brother.

"And my little brother," said Kara, joining in on the hugging.

"Group hug!" Gabby sang, running in to join the hugging, and so did everyone else.

"Make room for me!" Wrecker said, rushing in, but only succeeding in knocking everyone down and dogpiling on each other. "Oops."

But instead of getting upset at Wrecker, everyone laughed.

Ms. Surlei, however, was taken to prison to serve a six month sentence, the minimum sentence. And she received a visitor in the form of her sister.

"Shera, you have to get me out of here. I'm innocent!" Surlei begged.

Shera, however, looked at her stepsister like she was crazy, which she was.

"You call what you did innocent? You pulled yanked Count Crescendo's hair, got yourself clavatized, and placed a musical curse on the galaxy trying to expose his identity."

"Well, can you blame me? You're a reporter. Shouldn't you be looking for stories like this?"

"Not at the cost of innocent people suffering. Has it never occurred to you that maybe Count Crescendo's fans don't want his identity revealed because it's part of his charm?"

"Why does that matter?"

"Because, Count Crescendo is one of a few celebrities who's dedicated his time to keeping spirits up, especially during dark times such as the Clone War. And the fact that his identity is a mystery serves as not just part of his charm, but also a symbol of how he's not doing good deeds for credit. If that's taken away from him, it affects others in the galaxy. Unlike you, when I became a reporter, I considered the consequences of telling certain stories, especially without knowing all the facts."

"There you go again, the goody two-shoes reporter."

"Well, I'd rather be a Goody Two-Shoes than a heartless gossip. And clearly, you still haven't learned to face the consequences of your actions. So, don't expect me to bail you out of this one. Goodbye."

And off Shera went, though it broke her heart knowing her step sister was so hard in the heart. She had two biological sisters of her own, but she'd done her best to help her step sister feel like a real sister and part of her family when Surlei's mother married Shera's father. But no matter what she did, Priscilla just wouldn't be a team player and basically tried to take over the Nova house, which was unsuccessful.

Shera didn't need to be a news reporter to know there were a lot of stories out there, and each one was different. But all of them had multiple sides, and without every side or fact, the ones who were told the story may get the wrong idea. And Shera took that rule very seriously, but her step sister, she only took whatever side sounded like a thrilling story, and left out the facts that made it not sound like a scandal. And that usually ended with someone getting hurt, which was the last thing Shera wanted.

Shera knew from the beginning keeping it real and getting the whole story wouldn't be easy, but she rose to the challenge, and that was what made her such a great reporter.

As bedtime came along once more, and although everyone was glad the musical curse was over, Carmine decided to sing one more song for the family before they would all hit the hay.

Carmine played his guitar to sing to everyone.

Carmine:

Where the north wind meets the sea

There's a river full of memory

Sleep, my darling, safe and sound

Lamenta & Carmine:

For, in this river, all is found

All is found

Soon, all the kids joined in.

Carmine & Children:

When all is lost, then all is found

In her waters, deep and true

Lie the answers and a path for you

Dive down deep into her sound

But not too far or you'll be drowned

Anakin joining in:

She will sing to those who'll hear

And in her song, all magic flows

But can you brave what you most fear?

Can you face what the river knows?

Carmine just strummed a pretty interlude on his guitar for a little bit, everyone enjoying the beautiful sound of the music.

Carmine:

Until the river's finally crossed

You'll never feel the solid ground

You had to get a little lost

On your way to being found

Everyone:

Where the north wind meets the sea

There's a mother full of memory

Come, my darling, homeward bound

Where all is lost, then all is found

Carmine:

All is found

All is found

Bonus Scene:

And now, the curtain call! No musical is complete without a curtain call, and a round of applause for all the singers.

A big stage is on the scene, the red curtain pulls up as everyone who was in the musical, young and old, takes a bow as applause fills the air. A perfect end to a perfectly magnificent musical story.

I hope you enjoyed this musical story. Please be sure to review.

Some of you may have also noticed I haven't posted a Jedi Storytime in a while, but don't worry, I have some in the works. I've been thinking of doing a Frozen story with Anakin and Carmine for the roles of Elsa and Anna. But, I've also been brainstorming for a Lion King Story with either Vince & Myra or Benni & Omega for the roles of Simba and Nala. I could do both as separate stories. I've been thinking of making a separate series similar to Jedi Storytime, but mainly featuring Bad Batch characters. Maybe I'll call it "Bad Batch Tales."
