Chapter 6 Another truth Hidden
"All of my stuff?" Hermione gasped.
Draco nodded and winked. " Yes, all of your stuff, and don't worry, I didn't touch those things." he pointed to her stripper outfit in the corner. Hermione blushed and casted a charm to burn her clothes, including the boots.
"Why did you do that for?"
"Because I'm going to quit my job and become a nurse, after all I did some work experience as a medic witch after I graduated." Hermione blushed.
"Good for you, I'm sure that you'll be an excellent nurse."
"Thank you."
Draco sped to his room to get changed into his work clothes and to fetch his briefcase. He emerged from the hallway and drank his glass of blood deeply. He could feel Hermione's eyes trailing down his sculped body with desire. He knew what she was thinking, but for some reason, Hermione didn't have the courage to speak her mind. Hermione breathed deeply and watched Draco drown his final glass of blood she opened her mouth to speak but quickly closed it.
"Hermione, don't be scared to say how you feel. It won't help anyone."
"I'm not scared." Hermione huffed.
"Hermione, I can read your mind, so there's no point in lying to me." Draco crossed his arms over his chest and fixed his tie.
"I'm just curious, that's all."
"Go on, say what you want to say."
"What was it like to become a vampire?"
"I'd rather not talk about it." Draco dropped his briefcase and stared directly into Hermione's eyes and softly kissed her lips.
"Draco, I love you." she moaned into the kiss.
Draco's eyes snapped open, and he sharply pulled away from the kiss.
"What's wrong?" Hermione asked and had a confused expression on her face.
"You, that's my problem." Draco smiled shyly and sped off to work, leaving Hermione speechless and confused. When Draco was gone, she suddenly felt sadness in the pit of her stomach, and she hated it. She couldn't understand what she did wrong. "Draco, I love you. "She whispered to the empty room.
Hermione raised her fingertip to her lips and traced the upper bow where Draco kissed her, sighing sadly to herself she decided that it would be a good idea to see what she's getting herself into. Since she's now apparently living here, she might as well explore every corner. Tracing her fingertips along the wall, Hermione's noticed that Draco didn't have many photos hanging on his walls, no photos of friends or family.
"How interesting."
Then, it occurred to her that vampires don't have a reflection, so no photos are necessary. Hermione explored every dark corner of the apartment from top to bottom, now she was in Draco's room - soon to be Theirs if she played her cards right. She paced around the room and tried to find clues about Draco's past, but she had no luck there was nothing special about him whatsoever.
"Dam it!" Hermione kicked the bed in frustration , a small corner piece of a photo peeked out from the mattress. She bent down and gently tugged out the photo without tearing it, carefully studying the black and white photo. For any evidence, Hermione noticed that there was a young girl cradling her very pregnant stomach.
Hermione tilted her head and traced her fingertips along the photo she turned it over and read the writing on the back. "Oh, my God. "
Hermione realised that this photo was around 100 years old, possibly more, and the door opened without her hearing it creak . "What the hell do you think you're doing?" Draco's voice startled her, causing her to drop the photo. The photo fluttered
from her hands and out through the window.
Shock clear on his face, Draco sped to the window and caught the photo before it vanished for good. He stared at the photo for a long period of time. Hermione got up from her knees and opened her mouth to speak, "draco -"
"You've had enough exploring for today." He growled, still staring at the photo he ran his thumb along the girl in the pictures face and felt a bloody tear slide onto the picture and splattered onto the photo.
"I remember this day." He sniffed." I was only 13 and human."
