Dawn Summers had run away from home after her sister sacrificed herself to save her. The young brunette had packed her bags and moved to Forks, Washington.
It was raining, per usual, and there were grey storm clouds appearing in the sky. The whole scene seemed to fit her mood perfectly. Tears dripped down her soft skin as she stood atop the cliff. Her heart was breaking inside her chest. Dawn couldn't seem to cope with the loss of her sister. All she wanted was to be with her again.
"I'm sorry." She spoke softly, her words carried through the wind.
(Edward's POV)
Edward was walking through the woods with his wife and daughter when he picked up on someone's thoughts.
"I'm sorry Buffy. I just can't live with myself knowing I'm the reason that you died...Please forgive me."*
Edward rushed towards the direction in which the thoughts were coming from. Bella and Renesmee followed. They saw a young girl, maybe 15 or 16, standing atop a cliff, tears streaming down her face. "Hey! Stop!" He called out to the girl, but the wind carried away his words. Before he could do anything, the girl jumped.
(Dawn's POV)
"I'll be with you soon, Buffy." She whispered before taking the plunge. Halfway through it, she was overcome with fear. "What am I doing?? I don't wanna die!!" She thought to herself, her arms flailing about. She started screaming as the ground rushed up to meet her. Dawn closed her eyes in fear. As she was just about to crash into the ground, something grabbed her. Opening her eyes, she stared into the face of an angel. "Are you an angel?" She spoke softly before she fainted.
(Edward's POV)
Edward sped down to the bottom of the cliff in a matter of seconds. Just as the girl was about to crash into the ground, he caught her carefully in his arms. "Are you an Angel?" The young girl said before she fainted. Edward smirked softly at that.
(Jacob's POV)
Jacob happened to be close by when he saw Edward save a young girl from falling to her death. He rushed over towards them, checking to see if she was okay. "Is she okay?" He asked as he crouched down beside them. "She's fine. She just fainted." Edward said with a chuckle. "What's so funny?" Jacob asked with a frown.
"Falling to your death is not something to laugh about."* Jacob thought to himself.
"Nothing. She just asked if I was an angel. And then she fainted." Edward replied with a smirk. Jacob raised his eyebrows. "You? An angel? Yeah, right." He replied back jokingly.
The young girl suddenly started shivering. "S-So c-c-cold..." She said through chattering teeth. "Let's get her somewhere warm. She's soaking wet." Jacob said. Edward nodded and carried her towards where Bella and Reneesme were waiting. "Is she okay?" Bella asked curiously, looking at the young girl. "She's fine. She just needs to get out of this cold weather." Jacob said, coming up behind Edward. "Let's take her to Carlisle & Esmee's. Carlisle should have a look at her, just in case." Bella said to Edward. Edward nodded and carried the girl all the way there.
(Carlisle's POV)
"Carlisle!" Edward called out as he rushed inside. There was a tone of urgency, and a slight tone of worry, in his voice. "What is it, Edward?" Carlisle called as he got up from his desk chair and came out into the living room. "This girl jumped off a cliff. I caught her before she crashed to the ground but she fainted. I just want to make sure nothing's wrong with her." Edward said. "Lay her down and I'll take a look." Carlisle replied.
--30 minutes later--
"Well, nothing seems broken. She probably just fainted from the shock." Carlisle said as he finished his examination. "She's freezing. Let's lay her down by the fireplace." He said as he went over and turned the fireplace on before carefully laying her down beside it. The fireplace warmed her up quickly, because after only a few minutes she started waking up.
