The golden rays of the early sun stretched across Beacon Academy's peaceful grounds, casting a gentle warmth upon the swaying trees. Birds perched upon nearby branches added their cheerful trills to the natural melody, their joyous chirps intertwining with the soft breeze that rustled the foliage. Even the ponds surrounding the academy contributed to the picturesque scene, their tranquil surfaces reflecting the azure sky above and quivering ever so slightly from the caress of the tender wind.
Ruby, her silver eyes still heavy with remnants of slumber, struggled to fully awaken as she rubbed them sluggishly. "Morning already?" she mumbled, her voice still thick with sleep. Weiss, on the other hand, was perched at the edge of her bed, her hands cradling a steaming cup of freshly brewed coffee. She took a slow sip, savoring the rich aroma before offering a small smile. "Ah, it's lovely to be up this early," she mused, her voice smooth and refined. Yang's eyes abruptly snapped open, her golden locks still tousled from sleep. She shot a pouty glare toward Weiss, who was casually sipping her coffee. "Hey, wait a minute!" Yang exclaimed. "Where's my morning coffee, Ice Queen?"
Weiss shook her head, a hint of amusement in her eyes. "Oh, Yang, when will you learn?" she teased, her voice laced with playful sarcasm. "I am not your personal barista. You can help yourself to the coffee machine, you know." "ugh! Just this one time please?" Yang said pulling puppy dog eyes Yang flashed a victorious smile as Weiss relented, her icy facade cracking slightly. "Fine, just this once," Weiss conceded, her tone laced with reluctant resignation. Yang, relishing her victory, promptly burrowed back into her bed, a mischievous grin playing on her lips. "One day, I'll wear you down completely, Ice Queen," she taunted, her voice filled with playful confidence. Blake, her ebony hair still dripping from her shower, padded into the room, her cat ears twitching slightly. She observed the playful banter between Yang and Weiss, her eyes narrowing in mild annoyance. "Yang," Blake began, her voice laced with a hint of reproach. "Did you really demand that Weiss make your coffee for you?"
"Oh I did heh and I'll do it again tomorrow" Yang announced proudly
Blake rolled her eyes, a small sigh escaping her lips. "You really are incorrigible, Yang," she chided, her tone gently scolding. "But if you keep this up, poor Weiss will have a permanent caffeine headache dealing with your constant demands."
As Blake left the room, Yang seized the opportunity to grab one of Blake's beloved romance novels from the bookshelf. She chuckled to herself as she snuck away with the book, knowing that Blake would be miffed when she noticed it was missing. Yang settled into a comfortable chair and started reading the novel, rolling her eyes at the sappy dialogue and outrageous scenarios. She couldn't believe that Blake actually liked this stuff. Meanwhile, Blake entered the room with her can of tuna, her eyes widening in surprise when she spotted the missing book in Yang's hands.
"Ya-yang? Is that my book?" Blake said while stuttering still holding her favorite tuna
Yang looked up from the book with a sheepish grin. "Uh, yeah, I couldn't resist giving it a read," she said nonchalantly, trying to hide her guilt. Blake raised an eyebrow, clearly miffed. "You know I don't like people touching my books without permission." Yang rolled her eyes. "Come on, it's not like I'm damaging it. And besides, I just wanted to see what all the fuss was about this romance stuff." Blake crossed her arms, her cat ears twitching and scowl on her face. "Well, I hope you're enjoying it."
"It can't be that bad, besides! You need to socialize more! And…. Maybe we can hit that dance that the professors are throwing Friday" yang suggested with Ruby's silver eyes lighting in delight. "Yeah Blake! This would be perfect all of us attended the dance!"
Yang smiled warmly at her younger sister's excitement and encouraged Ruby's enthusiasm. "You know what, Ruby's right," she said, a playful glimmer in her eyes. "We could all use a bit of social interaction, especially with the professors throwing that dance on Friday."
Ruby nodded, her silver eyes shining with anticipation. "Exactly! Plus, it's a great opportunity to let loose and have some fun," she chimed in.
Blake, on the other hand, seemed a bit reluctant, her cat ears drooping on her head in uncertainty.
It wasn't unusual for Blake to feel overwhelmed by loud noises due to her cat features, especially her sensitive ears. She found herself explaining her hesitation to attend the dance to her friend, her cat ears twitching in annoyance with each word.
"You know I'm not going to that dance," Blake repeated. "It's just too loud, and these cat ears of mine can't handle it. Plus, I prefer the comfort of my own space and my cat. The whole idea of a dance is just exhausting to me."
"Yang, you're always on about my cat and books. You can't expect me to abandon my interests just because you want me to go to some dance," said Brown Eyes, rolling her eyes.
"But it'll be fun! You always have your head buried in a book or playing with your cat. Don't you want to have some fun for once?" Yang retorted.
Blake crossed her arms defiantly with her tail twitching in annoyance. "I have plenty of fun. My interests just don't revolve around crowded dancefloors and loud music."
Yang folded her arms across her chest, her voice rising in frustration. "You're so predictable, Blake. You always hide behind your books and your cat. You never want to have any fun or spend time with anyone."
Blake's cat ears flattened against her head, a sign of her growing annoyance. She retorted, "I enjoy my own company. Not everyone needs to be surrounded by people all the time to have fun."
"But you're so isolated, always shutting yourself away. Don't you want to experience new things and make new friends?" Yang insisted.
"Yang sighed, feeling a pang of disappointment at Weiss' words.
"I know, I know," she said, her voice tinged with a hint of frustration. "I really wanted to take Blake to the dance, but it seems like she's not interested." Weiss took a sip of her coffee, her expression sympathetic. "Maybe you should give it a rest, Yang," she suggested gently. "Blake clearly doesn't want to go to the dance with you on Friday."
As the Friday arrived Team RWBY was at the dance wait for Blake to arrive Yang was wearing a electric yellow dress with black heels Ruby was wearing a red dress with an under skirt and Weiss was wearing an expensive white dress that made her look like snow white.
"So, Blake is definitely not coming, huh?" Yang said, twirling her electric yellow dress as she spoke. "I'm sure she's on her way," Ruby said, adjusting the skirt on her red dress. "She probably just got held up in the library." Weiss rolled her eyes, her white dress standing out in contrast against the other girls' colorful outfits. "Or she's just being her usual flaky self. I don't know why we even bothered waiting for her."
The girls turned to see Blake walking towards them, her black dress hugging her figure and the leggings showing off her legs. Yang's eyes widened, her jaw dropping as she took in Blake's outfit. "Damn, Blake, you look..."
Weiss, on the other hand, struggled to hide her own surprise. "That... that's certainly a look," she managed to stammer out. Ruby smiled and gave Blake a welcoming hug. "You look great!"
"I thought about what Yang said and I definitely do need to talk and social more" Blake said her cat ears pinned to her head
"Heh I knew you'd come around come on let's go!"
On the dance floor, Yang and Blake moved together in a smooth, sensual rhythm. Their eyes never leaving one another as they spun and twirled. Weiss and Ruby stood at the edge of the dance floor, their cheeks flushed as they watched. Weiss tried to hide her reaction, but her pale skin betrayed her with a soft flush. "Since when did Blake know how to dance like that?" Ruby whispered to Weiss, her eyes fixated on the pair.
Ruby's gaze moved from Yang and Blake to the table where Winter, Ironwood, Ozpin, and Glynda were sitting. Her cheeks flushed an even deeper shade of red at the thought of Ironwood and Winter being together. Weiss followed Ruby's line of sight and smirked. "Looks like Winter and Ironwood are here too," she said, the corner of her mouth twitching with amusement. "I-I wasn't looking at them," Ruby protested, her voice a little too high-pitched.
"Why don't you go talk to Winter? I won't mind " Weiss assured Ruby
Ruby glanced at Weiss, her cheeks still rosy. "I don't know..." she muttered, fidgeting with the hem of her cloak. Weiss rolled her eyes. "Come on, Ruby. You've been crushing on Winter for ages. This is your chance."
With that Ruby walked up to Winter still with a flustered face "wi-winter? Could we dance together beside yang and Blake?"
Winter looked up at Ruby, a small smile forming on her lips at the sight of Ruby's flushed cheeks and nervous demeanor. "Of course, Ruby," she replied, standing up from her seat. "I'd be happy to dance with you."
Ruby's silver eyes widened in surprise, a mix of excitement and nervousness coursing through her. "Really?" she asked, her voice a little shaky.
Winter led Ruby to the dance floor, their hands intertwined. Once they found a spot, they began to move together. Winter's steps were elegant and controlled, while Ruby occasionally stumbled over her own feet, her nerves getting the best of her. "You're doing great, Ruby," Winter said, a hint of amusement in her voice. Ruby blushed furiously, her heart racing. "Thanks. I just hope I don't step on your toes."
As Yang and Blake continued to dance, Yang saw a chance to do something she had been wanting to do for a while now. She leaned in and planted a soft kiss on Blake's lips. Blake froze for a moment, her cat ears standing straight up in surprise. But then she melted into the kiss, her arms wrapping around Yang's waist. When they pulled apart, Blake was blushing furiously, her amber eyes wide. "Yang.. what was that for?"
Yang chuckled as Blake blushed an even deeper shade of red. She wrapped her arms around Blake's waist, pulling her closer. "You have no idea how long I've wanted to do that," Yang said, her voice a low whisper. "But I decided it was finally time to make a move." Blake's heart was racing, her mind racing with a million thoughts. She looked up at Yang, her golden eyes meeting Yang's lilac ones. "I... I never knew you felt that way."
As Winter saw what was happening she took the chance to plant as soft kiss on Ruby's lips causing Ruby's brain to complete brake down and causing her to stutter
Ruby was in a state of shock as Winter leaned in and planted a soft kiss on her lips. Her mind went blank, her heart racing a mile a minute. "W-Winter... w-what...?" Ruby stuttered, her cheeks burning red. Winter chuckled softly, a hint of amusement on her face. "I hope that wasn't too forward of me," she said, her voice soft. "But I've wanted to do that for a while now."
"No-no it's fine It just threw me off guard and isn't our age difference kinda suspicious?" Ruby noted while still stuttering to Winter
Winter smiled at Ruby's response, her hand still resting on Ruby's chin. "Age difference hardly matters in our line of work, Ruby," she replied. "Besides, I've found that age brings wisdom and experience." Ruby's cheeks were still flushed, but she managed to collect herself enough to respond. "I suppose you're right," she said, her voice still a bit shaky. "But still... don't you think it's a bit... strange?"
Winter paused for a moment, contemplating Ruby's question. She looked into Ruby's eyes, her own filled with a mixture of affection and determination. "I understand your concerns, Ruby," Winter said softly. "But I've come to the realization that our age difference doesn't matter when it comes to love. You're old enough to make your own decisions, and I'm certain in my own feelings." She took a deep breath, her heart racing. "I love you, Ruby Rose. And I'm not ashamed to say it."
Blake's cat ears perked up as she overheard Winter's declaration, her own attention momentarily diverted from Yang's kisses. She saw Yang give Ruby a thumbs up, which made her chuckle internally. It seemed like everyone was finding love tonight. Ruby listened to Winter's words, her heart swelling with a mix of joy and disbelief. She still felt like she might wake up any moment, but the intensity in Winter's voice made it clear that this was real.
Ruby and Winter made their way back to their dorm rooms after the dance, the night slowly coming to a close. Ruby couldn't help but feel a pang of sadness as Winter headed off towards her own room in the Atlas dormitories. The tears welled up in her eyes as she watched Winter disappear down the hallway. As she entered her own room, Ruby sat down on her bed and let out a soft sob, her thoughts filled with Winter and everything they had shared that night. She couldn't believe how quickly the night had flown by, and now it was all over.
Blake and Yang quickly approached Ruby as they noticed the tears streaming down her face. Without hesitation, they wrapped their arms around her and pulled her into a tight hug. Blake spoke softly, her voice filled with concern. "Hey, Ruby, it's okay. We're here for you." Ruby buried her face into Yang's chest, feeling the warmth and comfort of her sister's embrace. She felt safe in their arms, knowing that no matter what, they would always be there for her.
