The sun was setting over Beacon Academy, casting a warm, golden hue across the courtyard. The bustling activity of the day was winding down as the students of Team RWBY and their friends gathered in their common area, enjoying the last rays of sunlight. Ruby Rose, ever the energetic leader, was eyeing her teammate Blake Belladonna with a mischievous grin.
Blake, who was curled up with a book in a quiet corner, had her cat ears twitching as she sensed Ruby's gaze. Ruby approached with exaggerated stealth, making her way over to where Blake sat. Her eyes locked onto Blake's furry appendages with a mixture of fascination and longing.
"Blake," Ruby began with an innocent tone, "I've been meaning to ask you something."
Blake glanced up from her book, her golden eyes meeting Ruby's with a hint of suspicion. "What is it, Ruby?"
Ruby's grin widened as she made a show of trying to suppress her excitement. "I was just wondering... if I could touch your cat ears."
Blake's ears flattened slightly as she stiffened. "I'd rather you didn't."
Ruby's face fell dramatically. "Oh, come on! Just one little touch?"
"No way, Ruby," Blake said firmly. "You know I'm sensitive about my ears."
Ruby's eyes sparkled with determination. "How about this: if I bring you some fish, will you let me?"
Blake's gaze narrowed. "Fish? You're bribing me with fish?"
Ruby nodded enthusiastically. "Yep! You love fish, don't you?"
Blake's resolve wavered slightly, but she quickly shook her head. "No, Ruby. It's not going to work."
Ruby huffed but turned on her heel and scampered off to the kitchen. Moments later, she returned with a small plate of fish. Blake's ears perked up involuntarily at the scent.
Ruby set the plate in front of Blake with a triumphant smirk. "There you go! Just a little touch, and these are all yours."
Blake eyed the fish with a mixture of longing and frustration. "You're a fiend, Ruby. Using my weakness against me."
Ruby giggled and gently reached out to stroke Blake's cat ears. Blake's resolve crumbled as she allowed the touch, though her cheeks turned a faint pink. Her initial discomfort slowly gave way to a purring contentment as Ruby's fingers worked their magic.
Across the courtyard, Weiss Schnee was eyeing Yang Xiao Long's motorbike with a mix of curiosity and envy. Yang was polishing the bike, her eyes twinkling with mischief as she noticed Weiss's interest.
"Hey, Yang," Weiss called, trying to sound casual. "Can I give your bike a test drive?"
Yang's eyebrows arched in playful surprise. "Oh? You think you're ready for that?"
Weiss's face flushed slightly. "Of course, I can handle it!"
Yang chuckled, stepping aside. "Alright, but don't say I didn't warn you. Might end up crashing if you're not careful."
Weiss glared at Yang but climbed onto the bike with determination. Yang watched with a smirk as Weiss fumbled with the controls. The bike roared to life with a sudden burst of noise, causing Weiss to startle and nearly topple off.
Yang couldn't help but tease. "Careful now, Weiss! You might run someone over!"
"I've got this!" Weiss snapped back, though her confidence wavered as she tried to get the bike moving.
Just as Weiss managed to get the bike going, a figure appeared out of nowhere—Jaune Arc, heading straight for her. Weiss's eyes widened in horror as she struggled to steer the bike, but it was too late. With a screech of tires, the bike plowed into Jaune, sending him sprawling onto the pavement.
Pyrrha Nikos, who had been chatting nearby, gasped in alarm and rushed over to Jaune. "Jaune! Are you okay?"
Jaune groaned, rubbing his head. "I think so... just a little banged up."
Weiss, now off the bike and standing with a look of shock and embarrassment, quickly approached Jaune. "I'm so sorry, Jaune. I didn't mean to..."
Yang, barely containing her laughter, leaned on her bike. "Looks like I was right, huh? Maybe you should've listened."
Weiss shot Yang a withering glare, her face a storm of frustration and humiliation. "This isn't funny, Yang!"
Meanwhile, Ruby was in high spirits as she continued to pet Blake, who was blissfully munching on the fish. Blake's earlier irritation had been replaced by a contented purr as Ruby's hands gently brushed through her fur.
Ruby looked up, her face glowing with satisfaction. "See, Blake? Wasn't that worth it?"
Blake gave a soft, rumbling purr and nodded. "I suppose... but only because you brought me fish."
