Chapter 31: The Loona Moon

Many Years Ago, in Hell…

In the streets of the city, there are many different demons walking around doing their everyday business. Among some of the demons in an alley, there is a small hellhound who looks awfully familiar. The little hellhound is actually Loona.

Back then, Loona had no piercings, and her hair is a lot shorter up to shoulder's length. Loona is wearing a navy-blue skirt, a white shirt underneath and is wearing a grayish black hoodie over her. There are some signs of scrapes, bruises, and dirt on her.

Loona is sitting on the ground as she slightly eats a piece of bread and cheese, she is able to take from a store. The girl has her ears lowered in sadness as she eats the food. Once she's done, Loona begins to leave the alley and walk down the streets of the city. She walks along to see so many different demons either staring down at her or ignoring her, which makes Loona feel very uneasy. She clenches her tail in uneasiness.

Suddenly, Loona hears the sound of thunder and rain begins pouring down. Many demons begin to panic and begin to take shelter. Loona does the same thing. She runs down the street and runs into a different alley. Loona soon finds a few cardboard boxes and hides in one of them to get away from the rain. Loona soon begins to shed tears and curls herself in a ball as she pulls her knees close to her head.

Loona says to herself, "Why? Why do I have to live like this? I… I wish I could have a mommy and daddy… I want to be loved and cared for, and to be happy. I want a real family… A real loving family…"

Suddenly, some strange glow appears behind Loona. Loona turns her head to see some speck of bright red light. Then the strange light becomes larger and turns into a portal like a vortex. Loona gasps in shock and slowly begins stepping back in concern. Before she has time to process or think on her feet, the vortex begins to vacuum everything within rage, including Loona. The young hellhound ends up getting pulled into the portal and through it just as she's able to let out a scream. The portal soon sucks Loona in and closes in a matter of seconds before anyone can come over.

Moments later…

The young hellhound ends up flying through the portal and the portal closes soon after. Then Loona crashes to the ground and feels her body getting wet from on the ground and in the sky. Loona groans and is able to lift herself up. When she looks around, Loona finds herself in a strange wood she has never seen before.

Loona looks around, "Wha-what is this place? Where… where am I?"

Just then, the thunder and lightning booms and flashes into the sky, scaring the young child. She scrambles up her feet and runs through the forest as the storm continues on. Loona is so frightened and upset that she doesn't know what to do. The small hellhound looks around to find some shelter. Loona soon sees a very large hollow tree. It may not be the best idea, but what else can she do? Loona takes shelter in the hollow tree. She sighs in relief. Just then, the lightning and thunder startled her, causing the child to curl herself up in a ball and shake in fear as tears fall down her face.

Time has passed…

The rain begins dying down and the storm clouds begin disappearing from the sky. Normally, people and other creatures don't really go out during the rainy season unless they need it. It's the same case as two, Blitz and his wife Crystal. Crystal is tall, slim, and fair. She has fair skin and pointy ears. She has long, elegant, straight, dark purple hair that goes down to her knees that is now braided. She also has beautiful sapphire eyes. She also has white angel-like wings and a white halo with a glowing light purple aura.

At that time, the two are newlyweds, and are out looking for herbs and plants that can be found easily during the rainy season. Both of them are wearing raincoats, boots, and umbrellas.

"Thank you for helping me find the herbs, Crystal," Blitz says.

"It's no trouble, honey. You are my husband, so I'm happy to help," Crystal says.

Blitz smiles, "Yeah. Hard to believe that it's already been a year since we were married."

"Yes. And it's been some time before that we were engaged and the incident from all those years ago," Crystal says.

Then Crystal realizes, "Oh um, sorry, I made it clear that we shouldn't talk about it."

"It's okay, dear. I understand. We both just wished that our families are still here, but we did what we can to make the most of it," Blitz says.

"Yeah," Crystal says with a smile.

Crystal soon notices, "Look, there's some herbs over there."

Blitz and Crystal look to see some herbs and some mushrooms.

"You're right, and there are some mushrooms," Blitz says.

He then notices some red mushrooms with black spots, "Be careful dear, there are some bad mushrooms. They'll make us sick if we eat them."

"Yes. I remember your mother telling us that they'll make you very dehydrated," Crystal says.

"Let's be careful and pick up the herbs and mushrooms," Blitz says.

Crystal nods, "Right."

He and Crystal soon begin picking some of the herbs and the mushroom and place them in different bags and wrapped them in different clothes. Suddenly, Crystal hears something and the sound of sniffling and whimpering.

"Blitz, do you hear something?" Crystal asks.

"Hear what?" Blitz asks.

Crystal shushes, "Shhh, just stay quiet and listen."

Blitz does that as he and Crystal listen very carefully. They listen very carefully and soon hear the sniffling and whimpering.

"I hear it," Blitz says and stands up, "I wonder who could be in the forest at this time?"

"Hmm," Crystal says, thinking. She then says, "Let's go check it out."

Blitz and Crystal begin to explore around the forest and search for the source of the whimpering and sniffling.

Soon, Blitz finds the source, "Crystal, look."

Crystal turns her head and gasps in shock.

What, or rather, who they find is the little hellhound.

"It's a young wolf girl," Blitz says.

"She seems different from any Wolf Inerfernoian I've seen," Crystal says, and saddens to see the condition she's in, "The poor dear. She is so cold and scared."

"We need to help her," Blitz says.

Blitz then places his basket and umbrella down and walks towards the hollow tree where the hellhound is.

"Hey, are you okay?" Blitz asks.

The hellound becomes frightened and scoots back.

"It's okay. I'm not going to hurt you," Blitz says and slowly reaches his hand out, "Please, I only want to help you."

The little hellhound looks up to see Blitz who has a reassuring smile.

Crystal kneels down to see her, "It's okay. We promise we'll help you," and she smiles in response.

Seeing both of their reassuring smiles, Loona slowly sits up and reaches her hand towards Blitz. Blitz and Loona take each other's hand and they both stand up.

"There you go," Blitz says, and picks up Loona in his arms.

Crystal uses her magic to levitate Blitz's umbrella and basket to them and gives Blitz the umbrella as he holds the hellhound in his other arm.

"Come on dear, let's hurry home," Blitz says.

"Right," Crystal says.

With that, Blitz and Crystal hurry through the forest and back to town to get the little wolf girl healed and warm from the cold rainy day.

Sometime later…

Blitz and Crystal managed to return home and were able to heal and warm up the young Hellhound. Blitz also makes sure to mend any injuries she has, luckily, it's just scrapes and bruises she has and they're small so there isn't serious damage.

Loona is now sitting on the couch in the living room with a blanket wrapped around her to keep her warm. She is also holding a cup of hot milk with honey mixed into it. Young Loona looks around to see the furniture, decorations, and other decor in the household, and they look very unusual.

Soon, Crystal walks in and sits down next to the child, "How are you feeling?"

"Um, uh, I'm okay…" The young hellhound says, feeling uneasy.

"I'm glad to hear it," Crystal says with a smile.

"Um thank you, nice lady," Loona says.

"You're welcome," Crystal says.

Soon, Blitz walks back in the living room, after putting the first aid kit away.

"Hey girls, how are you doing?" Blitz asks.

"We're doing okay," Crystal says. Then turns to the child, "Our guest is able to warm up as well."

"I'm glad to hear it," Blitz says.

Blitz then sits down on the other side of the couch and sits next to the Hellhound child.

"You feel better sweetie?" Blitz asks.

The hellhound nods, "Uh huh. And um, thank you mister," Then turns to Crystal, "You too, ma'am."

"What is your name?" Crystal asks.

"Um Loona, with two 'o's," Loona says.

"Loona, huh. That sounds like a nice name, it's uniquely spelled," Blitz says with a smile.

Loona blushes a bit and says, "Thank you."

"Why were you in the hollow tree in the rain? Are you alright?" Crystal asks.

Loona becomes uneasy, "Well um, you see, uh… I'm not sure," She then asks, "Where are we? This place doesn't look like Hell?"

"Hell?" Blitz questions.

"Never heard of it," Crystal says.

"Really?" Loona asks, a little surprised.

"Yes. We've never heard of it before," Blitz says.

"Um, well, you might not believe me if I told you. It all happened so fast," Loona says.

"It's okay. You don't have to tell us if you don't want to, but if you wish, we'll listen," Crystal says.

"Really?" Loona asks.

"And we'll listen to every word of it," Blitz says.

Loona nods and begins to explain everything. At least everything she knows. Loona explains how she's an orphan from a place called Hell, and doesn't remember which city she's in, and doesn't have a home at all. She explains how used to be an orphanage and was badly picked on and decides to run away. She's been out on the streets since until this strange portal opened up and sucked her in.

When Loona finishes, the young hellhound says, "And the next thing I know. I ended up here. I was really scared to find myself here, and I think I would have been under that tree if you didn't find me."

"I have to admit, it's very hard to fully understand the details, but I can tell you've been through a lot," Blitz says.

"You mean you believed me?" Loona asks.

"Yes," Blitz says, "The truth is, I was kind of an orphan myself and ended up finding myself in a forest alone."

"Really?" Loona asks, surprised.

"Yes," Blitz answers with a nod, "But sadly, I didn't remember anything of my past at all, so I don't remember where I came from."

"So you don't remember your family?" Loona asks.

"No, but despite that, I ended up having a mother, but she passed away, and sometime later, I have a wife," Blitz says.

"Really?" Loona asks.

"Yes," Crystal says, and sadly sighs, "Truth is, I've lost my family as well, so it's just been Blitz and myself."

"I'm sorry to hear it," Loona says.

"It's okay, it happened a long time ago, and my wife and I were doing well for ourselves," Blitz says.

"And now we've been happily married for a year now," Crystal says.

"That sounds nice," Loona says.

But then sadly sighs, "But what am I going to do? I don't have a family or a home. And I'll be all by myself."

Blitz and Crystal look at each other and soon smile with a nod.

"Well, maybe you could stay with us?" Blitz asks.

That makes Loona perk up, "You mean it?"

"Yes. Our home is rather big, and we were thinking about having a family for some time now," Crystal says.

"And it may sound silly, but I understand what it's like to be in your position. Also, you are a very nice girl," Blitz says and ruffles her hair, making Loona giggle.

"Thank you. You both are really kind," Loona says.

"But you know, Crystal and I do a few things around the house, and I also go to work, we can also use a hand," Blitz says.

"Okay, but um, I'm not too good with household stuff," Loona says.

"That's okay. I can assist you. I struggled with it myself when I first became a housewife, but I managed," Crystal says.

"And you seem like a very sweet girl, and it will be nice to have you here," Blitz says.

"Thank you," Loona says, and lets out a yawn.

"I'm guessing you're tired huh," Blitz says.

Loona nods her head.

Crystal then picks up Loona who is still in the blanket, "I think we all had a long day. A good nap should help."

Moments later, Loona is now resting in the guest room and is now fast asleep. Blitz and Crysta smile to see the hellhound is sleeping comfortably and closes the door.

Crystal turns to Blitz and asks, "Do you really mean we can keep her?"

"You've already decided to keep her, haven't you?" Blitz asks.

"Yes. I want to," Crystal says.

"Yes. I want to keep her as well," Blitz says.

Crystal smiles and says, "I believe the people in the sky have decided to bless us for the hardship we've gone through."

"I don't know, but I think it's kind of like fate that we've found her," Blitz says.

"Perhaps, but I like to believe that the spirits in the sky have decided to bless us with a child, under her circumstances, the spirits decide to lead her to us," Crystal says.

"Maybe, but it's nice to think of it," Blitz says.

"Yes. I know we'll be able to raise her with all the love we can provide," Crystal says.

"It may be hard, but I know we can do it," Blitz says.

Blitz and Crystal then give each other a passionate kiss.

The next day, Blitz and Crystal have given Loona new clothes, shop for new clothes, accessories, even give her a medical appointment, and make other preparations for her to have good education, medical needs, personal care, and such. Along with some food and water for her. And lastly, they've gone to city hall and made sure to have an adoption certificate and other papers. Soon, Loona is a part of Blitz and Crystal's family as their daughter. That day is the best day of Loona's life.

Present Day…

Loona is at her current age and lets out a yawn of exhaustion as she wakes up from her sleep. The grown hellhound stretches her arms as she wakes up and climbs out of bed. After getting out of bed, she walks to the sink to wash her face and brush her teeth. Once that's done, Loona gets dressed in her clothes and leaves her room.

Once down in the lobby, Loona sees Tilla running around with the pets and the Egg Bois.

Loona giggles, "I see Tilla is having fun."

"You can say that again," Angel says, who is sitting on the couch, "Ain't she just a little cutie," And recording the little event.

Pentious, who is sitting next to him, says, "Yes. and my Egg bois really enjoy Tilla's company."

Just then, Tilla trips and falls to the floor, and rather hard. Soon, Tilla begins to cry.

Loona walks over and picks Tilla up, "It's okay, Tilla. It's okay," and rocks Tilla as she comforts her, "That was a bit of a nasty fall. It's okay. I know it hurts, but don't worry, your big sister will make it better," and gives Tilla a gentle kiss on the forehead.

"Aww, ain't that sweet," Pentious says.

"Yeah. You really are a great sister," Angel says.

"Thanks. Of course, it was a bit of a struggle when I first became an older sister. I remember when I first learned I was going to be a big sister," Loona says.

Flashback: Years Ago…

It's been some time since Loona has been living with Blitz and Crystal as their daughter. Loona is reading one of her books in the room.

"Loona, we have some exciting news for you," Blitz's voice calls out.

Loona looks up from her book to see her parents, Blitz and Crystal.

Crystal smiles and says, "The sky people have blessed us with a new family member," and places her hand on her stomach.

"You are going to be a big sister," Blitz says.

Loona smiles happily to hear it and rushes over to hug her parents for the exciting news.

Months have gone by…

Blitz and Loona walk into the medical hospital and are escorted to the hospital room Crystal is staying in after she has given birth. Once inside, they see Crystal lying on the bed with the bed in a sitting position and is holding a beautiful little baby which shows signs of purple hair and fair skin.

Loona walks over, "Hi mom, how are you feeling?"

"I'm feeling fine sweetie," Crystal asks.

Loona then notices the baby bundled in her arms and in a blanket, "Is that my baby sibling?"

"Yes," Crystal says and presents the baby to her, "This is your new sister, Aurora."

"Hi Aurora," Loona softly says and taps her nose on her cheek.

The baby is still sleeping but shows a small smile in response.

More months have gone by…

Loona is sitting on the couch and feeding Aurora with a bottle while her parents are busy.

Blitz soon walks over and says with a smile, "You're really doing great, big sister."

"Maybe," Loona says and sighs, "Being a big sister is not easy."

"I know, it's not busy being a parent either," Blitz says and sits down next to her.

Then sees Aurora, "And Aurora also knows you're her big sister."

"You think so?" Loona questions.

After feeding the bottle, Loona places the bottle on the furniture and holds Aurora in her arms. Baby Aurora lets out a giggle and reaches her hands out towards her. Loona smiles and reaches her hand out and Aurora grabs her finger.

Flashback Ends:

"It took some time, but I've learned to become an older sister to Aurora. And when Keenan and Tilla came along, it became a lot easier. And it helps that I help Aurora become a big sister as well," Loona says.

"Sounds like you're a great sister," Angel says.

Then sighs, "Makes me wish I had an older sister, but I had a twin sister, which is good, but me and my older brother, well uh, not much."

"Huh. you have a sister and brother?" Loona asks.

"Yeah, but my sister is not in Hell, I looked. Most likely, she's in Heaven. Not that I hold that against her, she's a real angel. Me and my brother, well, not much, neither is my dad," Angel says.

"I see," Loona says.

"But enough about that. The point is, you're a good sister. It's no wonder they look up to you," Angel says.

"Thanks," Loona says, "It wasn't easy, but I was able to handle it."

She then sighs, "Even when mom got sick and passed away, I tried my best to help out in any way I can."

"How did your mother get sick?" Niffty asks as she sweeps the floor.

"Well, my mom was sick for a very long time, ever since she had a child. She had this unknown illness and there isn't a cure for it, no matter how hard the doctors tried," Loona says, "My dad explained that she had this illness since she was a child, and it was predicted that she will pass on. In fact, doctors were amazed that she lived as long as she had. Luckily, the illness is not contagious from what the doctors explained, but it wasn't not easy when she passed away."

Loona then brings out the necklace she wears, "This was the necklace my mom received to dad the day they got engaged. When she passed away, she decided to pass it on to me. I have kept it ever since."

"Sounds sad, but it looks like you and your family were able to handle this okay," Pentious says.

"Thanks. It was hard for all of us, and now we have, this on our plate," Loona says.

"You mean finding yourself and your family in a crazy and dangerous place like Hell?" Niffty asks.

"Yes Niffty," Loona says, "Even though we've been here for almost four months, we've been doing alright."

"Well, glad to know you and your family are handling it," Angel says.

"Thanks," Loona says.

Then turns to Tilla, "Come on, Tilla. Let's head to the kitchen. I'm sure you're hungry."

Tilla smiles and happily nods and gives Loona a kiss on the cheek. Loona blushes but also smiles in response.

Loona then looks down at the necklace she has received from her mother. She can remember it very well.

Flashback…

One day, Crystal is lying down in bed and is looking very weak and tired. Over time, her sickness has taken a turn for the worst. At the last moment of her life, she sees her family looking at her with sadness by her side. Loona is sitting right next to her on the chair next to the bed with baby Tilla in her arms, who is only six months old at the time. Keenan, Aurora, and Blitz are standing next to her on the other side of the bed.

Crystal slowly reaches her hand towards Blitz. Blitz gently places both his hands on Crystal. Crystal then uses a bit of her magic that causes a strange glow, showing a half of a taijitu appearing on the back of her right hand. It's icy blue and it has a white snowflake on it.

On the back of Blitz's left hand, it ends up showing an orange yellow taijitu symbol with a small flame of fire on it. Both symbols glow.

And soon, the snowflake taijiu disappears from Crystal's right back hand, and reappears on the back of Blitz's right hand.

Once that's done, the two lean to each other and kiss each other.

After that, Crystal slowly reaches her hand out to Loona. Loona reaches her hand, and Crystal places her betrothed necklace in Loona's hand, wanting her to take it.

Crystal looks around to see her family and has a big smile. Suddenly, Crystal's eyes begin to close as the last spark of her life fades away. Loona, Aurora, and Keenan cry out to their mother as Blitz shed tears of sadness. When Crystal closes her eyes, the Celestian has passed on.

Flashback End…

Loona looks at her necklace and sadly says, "Oh mom, we all really miss you. I hope you're still watching over us."

And with that, Loona gives Tilla a kiss and takes her leave to have some bonding with her youngest sister.
