Chapter: 6
"Crap."
Behind Rukia was a tall hollow around two to three times the size of a normal human with an ape-like body that led it to stand on all fours. It has shaggy black fur around its neck and shoulders, as well as two lines arcing toward the center of its chest on either side of its torso, and large black wings connected to its hands. His Hollow mask is vertically long and narrow, with thick and exposed teeth framed by black, flame-like markings, a skull-like nose, a large and circular chin, and a forehead with a half-circle indent at the top, as well as a long, uniquely shaped tongue split into two ends that form a circle. His Hollow hole is located in the center of his chest.
'Burēdowākusu!'
'I hear you.'
Burēdowākusu appeared in my left hand as I charged the blade with raw energy preparing to swing at the hollow. But it seemed like my intervention wouldn't be needed yet as Rukia kneed the hollow in the mask and then used said mask as leverage to flip over the hollow's head onto its back and started a chant.
"Ruler the mask of flesh and blood, all things of the universe fly, that which names all! Truth and temperance…. Slight claw at the dream wall that Brooks no sin!
Jumping off the hollow's back she pointed her palm to its head and exclaimed.
"Hado no 33: Sokatsui" (way of destruction number 33: blue flame 'crash down.)
A blast of blue flame energy was released from her palm at the hollow's head causing a small explosion where the hollow's head is. Rukia landed on the ground as the smoke started to clear from the hollow's head and it revealed that the attack had no effect. The hollow rushed at her trying to bite her she dodged out of the way but it seemed the hollow grazed her. The Hollow then turned to her and spoke.
"Heh Heh… I know that spell. It's a soul reaper spell! So that's what you are!? But it was weak It had no bite."
"A tender little soul reaper… ohh you smell delicious. This brings back memories."
"You see I've already eaten two soul reapers who tried to take the boy to the soul soul society. Mighty good eating too!"
Rukia gained a look of surprise at the statement and then asked.
"The boy? You mean the soul inside the parakeet!?"
"Yeah."
"Why do you pursue him so relentlessly? Why?"
"Good question… Maybe I'll tell you if you let me have a nibble."
"Scum!"
'Alright, I'm intervening now until brother gets back she's currently at a serious disadvantage.'
'Very well but remember to hide your face at the very least.'
'Understood.'
Raising my right hand white energy formed and started to take the form of a plain white mask. Placing the mask on my face I shifted to my soul reaper form and used shunpo and appeared behind the hollow swinging Burēdowākusu releasing the built-up energy in the blade in an arc. The attack slammed the hollow into a wall. Rukia looked at me in surprise but also confused them she asked.
"Who are you?"
Ignoring her question I turned my attention to the hollow I sent into the wall the hollow got up with an angry shout.
"Who did that!"
It looked around until it saw me standing where it was standing.
The hollow's eyes narrowed as it focused on me, its previous aggression now directed entirely at my presence. It growled, the sound reverberating through the air like thunder.
"You...another soul reaper? How many of you pests are there?"
"Enough," I responded.
The hollow rushed at me with the full intent of biting me jumping out of the way I created chains made of energy that lashed out and bound down the hollow. It tried to get out of the chains deciding to give more to deal with I used cause and effect.
"Cause: I snap Effect: a block of ice falls on the hollow."
Snapping my fingers a massive ice block the size of the hollow fell from the sky onto the hollow trapping it under the Ice block's weight along with the chains. I hopped up onto the ice block and looked over to Rukia who was looking at me in surprise and to my surprise Chad was next to her with the parakeet nowhere to be seen.
'Huh did Chad come back to help.'
'It would seem so.'
'By the way, why haven't heard anything from Kuro, Shiro I get but Kuro?'
'Oh don't worry he's just planning something he wants to test with your cause and effect manipulation.'
'Oh ok.'
Hopping off the block of ice and walking over to Rukia and Chad while dispelling Burēdowākusu. Stopping a few feet away from Rukia I asked.
"You alright?"
"Yes, I'm fine."
"Good."
Turning my attention to Chad and looking at him with a raised eyebrow.
'Why did you come back, wouldn't it have been wise to keep running?' I was honestly curious.
But whatever I was going to say was cut short when I heard an odd screeching sound and the sound of Ice shattering. Turned to look in the direction the noise came from, turning around to see that the block of ice that was on the hollow was destroyed and the hollow now standing but still bound by the chains.
"You damned brat!" it shouted.
"Is it free?" Chad asked Rukia
"No, it's not… wait a minute you can't see it can you?"
"No."
'Thought so.'
'It's to be expected.'
'Oh hey, Kuro finish doing what you were doing.'
'Yes.'
'Oh, that's good. By the way, so how long till Ichigo gets here? It determines how long I stall for.'
'A few minutes.'
'Ok.'
"Oi big and ugly what's wrong can't move?" I taunted the hollow.
The hollow struggled against the chains, its rage boiling over. "You think you can trap me like this? I'll tear you apart!"
"Aww that's cute I would like to see you try."
"That arrogance will be the death of you."
"Really now?"
After my question, the hollow seemed to have smirked when it did I sensed the appearance of multiple small Reiyoku signatures around us. Without warning multiple small frog-like creatures leaped at Rukia, Chad, and me pinning us to the ground and one was on the wall with the caged parakeet next to it.
'Huh, I was wondering when it was going to do this.'
"You soul reapers are so slow you guys never suspect that I might have friends!"
"Actually I did."
Without warning I released a wave of energy from my body that flung the creatures off me. Getting up casually while brushing off my outfit I walked over to Rukia and Chad planned to remove the creatures from them too but Chad flung them off when he got up and kicked off the ones that were on Rukia as well.
'Oh, that's quite impressive.'
'Indeed.'
'OK with that done time to stall.'
Taking a breath I stated.
"Chains."
White energy chains burst from the ground below me rushing toward the already-bound hollow wrapping themselves around its throat. Struggling to get free of the chains the hollow yelled in rage.
"You think these puny chains can hold me? You're all fools!"
"Maybe," I replied calmly. "But for now, they're doing a pretty good job."
The frog-like creatures heads split open releasing what seemed to be leaches directly at me.
'Don't let those touch you.'
'I wasn't planning to.'
"Barrier."
A white barrier appeared around me blocking the leaches from touching me.
Well, that didn't go as planned did it?" I asked amused.
The hollow growled then seemed to have smirked.
Hmm?
The creatures heads split open once and released more leaches but not at me but Rukia and Chad instead but unlike me, they had no defenses to block the leaches and the leaches landed on them. After the leaches landed on Rukia and Chad the hollow laughed as if it had won.
"Hahaha, I wouldn't move if I were you any movement from you, and those two get blown to bits."
'Oh, they are bombs hmm how to do this?'
'You could test that.' Burēdowākusu said
'Yeah, you have a point might as well test now rather than later.'
"Sigh, Alright Cause: I snap Effect: all the leaches in the area die."
"What do you think you're doing I said if you move they die."
Rolling my eyes at the statement I snapped my fingers and the effect was instant. The leaches inflated like balloons and then popped but as soon as the leaches popped I felt a massive drop in my energy reserves and I started panting heavily.
'Well that worked but it drained a lot of energy.'
'Well, that's a start.'
'Indeed, hmm it seems like Ichigo is here.'
'Time to leave.'
'I know.'
Dispelling the barrier and chains I turn to walk away.
"Where the hell are you going!?" the hollow yelled
"My job here is done I will not be the one to deal with you."
"I'm gonna kill you!" it shouted while trying to rush at me.
Glancing back at the hollow it didn't get far as someone stepped on its head forcing it to the floor. Not bothering to look at who did it I used shunpo to leave the area leaving the rest to Ichigo. Appearing in Ichigo's room I decided to wrap up something from yesterday. Sliding open Ichigo's closet sticking Burēdowākusu into it and allowing her to absorb the Rieyoku inside.
'That's enough right?'
'Yep that's enough she's forming now.'
'She?'
'Yeah, she by the way hurry up and get in here.'
'Ok ok, I'm coming.'
Walking out of Ichigo's room and walking into my own closing the door behind me I walked over to my bed and lay down entering my mindscape as I do. Appearing in my mindscape I was greeted by a familiar group of people all except one.
Huh so that's Rukia's zanpakuto.
She is a beautiful pale-skinned young woman whose overall appearance resembles that of a yuki-onna. Her waist-length pale lavender hair is partially tied up at the back in a long bun and falls behind her shoulders, while a strand falls between her icy blue eyes. It is parted on the right side of her head by a blue star-shaped hair clip. She wears a white kimono with large sleeves, and a long hem, it has a pale yellow-green obi wrapped around her waist which is attached to a large, pale purple bow on her back.
"Hey Riku you took your time," Burēdowākusu said
"Well excuse me," I said walking over to them. "Did you explain the situation?"
"Yeah, we did," Shiro said
Nodding over to Burēdowākusu with an expecting look Burēdowākusu noticed the look rolled her eyes and sighed.
"Her name is Sode no Shirayuki," she said answering the unasked question.
"Thank you."
Turning to look at Sode no Shirayuki put out my hand to her for a handshake and I stated.
"Hello, Sode no Shirayuki I'm Riku Kurosaki it's a pleasure to meet you."
