Beth Sanchez woke up in bed alone for the fifth day in a row, still finding it weird to not see her ex-husband there asleep. She didn't regret choosing her father over Jerry and she could tell her children also agreed with the divorce, which had been great as she didn't want to feel guilty for pushing their father away. Sitting up and stretching Beth started making her way down stairs to start breakfast for her children and dad, who would be making their way to the dining room in roughly twenty minutes. What she didn't expect so early in the morning was her father covered in blood drinking a beer, watching as he looked extremely tired for some reason. "Dad, is everything okay? Who's blood is that?" It wasn't the first time he had walked in covered in several different kinds of blood but he had never looked so tired before that she could remember.
Rick ran a hand through his hair before drowning the rest of the bottle and tossing it in the trash. "Make extra food, Beth. We have company." Was all he said before making his way back to the garage, with two bottles of water surprisingly. Beth didn't know what to think of how her father was acting, he was acting strange and who was this company? Knowing it was pointless to ask, the blonde started to make breakfast, which didn't take long as she set the food on the table and all the extra food in the middle of the table. Morty and Summer started to make their way down stairs right on time, nine am sharp, and didn't even wait a second before digging into the food. "What's up with the extra food, mom?" Summer said, taking a bite of her pancakes and scrambled eggs. Just then Rick came in from the garage accompanied by two smaller children, both of them hiding behind his legs as if scared of the people at the table.
"Um, dad… not to sound rude or anything but why are there two kids hiding behind your legs and why are they here?" Rick rubbed his temples before grabbing them and pushed them forward to the table. "These two are Naruto and Hinata, they will be living here from now on." Telling them to take a seat and to dig into the food, Rick pulled his daughter to the kitchen. "Listen, before you say anything just know they would have died if I hadn't intervened. Don't ask why but I invited them and they agreed with almost zero hesitation, probably because they were leaving everything they knew to come to a strange planet with unknown people." Beth took the first part in as she peaked around the corner and saw how Naruto and Hinata were unsure about the food that was there on the table, she was at least glad her children were also aware of how scared the two were and are giving them space.
"I know that with the divorce things have been tense but these two need a family." This was very unlike her father but that was probably why she loved him after everything, because he was a good man who loved his family. "It's okay, dad. We can discuss more after breakfast." Beth smiled before heading back out and sat down at the end of the table and smiled at the two children. "Don't worry, nothing will happen if you help yourselves." Naruto was the first to move his hand to the plate and grabbed a pancake before taking a bite and his eyes widened at the taste, it was the one of the most delicious things he had ever eaten. He nodded to Hinata who also grabbed a pancake and took a bite and reacted the same as him, the both of them quickly forgetting about everything and started eating with new found vigour.
Beth wasn't blind as she looked at them, taking in their physical appearance. Naruto had bright blonde hair that spiked in every direction and bright blue eyes with slits for pupils, dark defined whisker marks on his cheeks. He looked slightly pale but the way his cheeks look sunken and how greedy he ate proved he had been starved for one reason or another. Hinata had short dark lavender hair with pale eyes which made her think the girl was blind, Rick telling her she wasn't, with a healthy pale complexion that was vastly different from Naruto. Except that she ate just like Naruto, which said she had never had something so good or was in some sort of family that couldn't allow such actions or food.
Wubba Lubba Dub-Dub
Everyone now sat in the living room, Beth and Rick standing in front with Summer sitting in the recliner and Morty leaning on the sofa arm farthest from where Naruto and Hinata sat on the sofa. The two sat close and while Hinata blushed by the said closeness, she couldn't stop herself from being nervous around the people that were no doubt the ones Rick had mentioned before she had fallen asleep in his ship. These people were so different from those in her clan and while she could see that they meant no harm, it had become a reflex at this point when meeting new people, expecting something from her but all she had seen in her life was just pity or disappointment.
Naruto was nervous for a similar but different reason. In his many years he had never once received such kindness from anyone except for a few rare ones, and that was because he had money for food and probably pity at seeing his situation. These people didn't have pity in their eyes as far as he could tell and didn't seem to have some sort of evil plans, he had heard a bit on the way here between going in and out of consciousness. The last time he trusted a family they had poisoned him which rendered him weak before they beat him mercilessly, throwing him in the streets in the dead of night hoping the wolves would get him.
"Let's get the ball rolling. The blonde one is Naruto and the girl is Hinata, they will be staying with us for the time being. Don't be weird, Morty…Summer, and play nice." Rick said which earned him fake angry shouts from both teenagers. The blue haired scientist saw how reserved the two look and looked at Beth before nodding his head towards the two. Catching what he was meaning, being more of the softer and gentler people in the house, she started introducing herself. "My name is Beth, Rick's daughter and Morty and Summer's Mother." She pointed towards the three individuals as she called them out. "If there's anything you don't understand or need help with, don't hesitate to ask me before going to anyone else."
That comment had earned her dirty looks from her children but by the way she saw Hinata try to hide her giggles and the way Naruto put his hand over his mouth to stop his laughter, they had definitely found it funny and the tension in the room had lessened because of that too. "We only have one extra room if you two don't mind sharing, the only problem is there isn't any furniture in there for the time being." It was funny and not funny at how they looked at her when she mentioned that, it was a mix of happiness and nervousness, but she could tell that they had a lot of mental scars from where they were previously at. "We can go shopping for clothes and everything tomorrow but in the meantime there should be some extra clothes of both Summer and Morty that should fit you from when they were younger."
Naruto and Hinata were at a loss of words at the genuine kindness that was coming from the older women. Hinata first thought it would be how her clan treated her but Beth didn't expect anything from her like they did. Naruto had never been spoken to or treated with such honest kindness, not even with the Hokage who he called Jiji, before. Rick treated them with kindness, not on the same level of his daughter, and saw them as children who needed something their world couldn't and wouldn't give them.
Morty introduced himself saying he was fourteen and in high school, he loved playing video games and watching anime. He loved reading sci-fi books and for the most part going on adventures with his grandfather. "I can even show you all the good spots around the town later." Naruto liked Morty already, feeling like the brown boy would stand by their side no matter how bad the situation got. Morty for his part thought this was pretty cool, having two foreign children from another planet come live with them. He did find it weird that his Grandpa Rick brought them here since it wasn't really his something he would do, but he would take this opportunity to make two new friends and show them around and maybe learn a bit about their home planet.
Summer then introduced herself saying she was seventeen and also a senior in highschool, and like her brother she was into a few good anime but also really into drama series. She liked partying and hanging with her girlfriends, the three of them planning to start a social media channel. "Your very pretty Hinata, is that all natural?" Hinata blush a light red but nodded her head, appreciating the comment. She liked how girly but also strong Summer seemed to be, something she herself always envisioned to be. She was also glad that she talked so informally unlike many of the people in their village and her clan did, and could feel that she too could do it too without any form of repercussions.
Beth knew her children were kind hearted people, regardless if children had killed several (if not hundreds or thousands) of other planet people, and that they wouldn't force or discriminate against them either. She only had to make sure Naruto and Hinata didn't pick up on any of their bad habits, such as not studying in school and actually think about their actions before rushing into situations, they did not want another episode of Gazorpazorp children. Naruto was a lot more open than Hinata was but she could see the lavender girl was relaxed and happy. She now needed to know what they were going to do with the two, whether they could attend school or how their schooling system even worked on their planet. There was so much she needed to do but for the first time it didn't seem to bother her so much…
Rick smiled softly before his face went back to being bored looking. He was curious on how their world was reacting to the missing of two children but with how their people were beating them he doubted it was anything good. 'Maybe I'll go and check it out later…' The blue haired scientist hadn't had the chance to actually take a look at the planet so whether he does go back or not, he'll decide if he would bring the two kids. It was only right he asked them if the question came up in the future. "I got some stuff to do." He said before heading to the garage and closing the door behind him.
"Why don't we go check in the hall closet for some old clothes?" Beth said as she noticed how different they were dressed compared to them, clothes that seem to resemble old Japanese clothing if she recalled right with a mix of modern. Naruto had on a large faded orange and blue jumpsuit with the top tied around his waist and black shirt with blue open toed shoes. Hinata had on a cream coloured fur coat and black pants with dark purple open toed shoes. Getting up the two follows her as they climb the stairs, the two of them noticing how there were several pictures of someone cut out of them and assumed to be the husband and father of the family.
"These should fit you two, we can shop for some clothes after lunch." She handed each one a small box before showing them the room they would share, which was beside her across from Morty's and Summer's room, a single window at the end of the hallway. Opening it up, the two were met with an almost empty room, with a medium sized desk against the left wall beside a window overlooking the backyard. Dark maroon walls and wooden flooring, but as empty it looked there was a homing feeling that neither have really ever felt before in their old homes. "Once again, we can go shopping for anything you two may need but in the meantime Naruto can change in here and I'll take you to the bathroom."
Making their way Beth asked her if she had already gotten her 'time of the month' yet, which had caused the younger girl's cheeks to flush red but shook her head no. "Don't worry, we can grab some supplies and have you keep some on hand just in case. I didn't think you wanted Naruto to hear which was why I had him change in the room." Hinata's face could only grow apple red and stuttered out a thank you as they arrived at the bathroom. "If you need any help, I'll be right here." She nodded before entering and set the box on the toilet, opening it up to see bright coloured clothing she had never seen and some she was never allowed to wear. There were a few dresses, thin clothing that would no doubt hug her body, some with weird designs and animals on. Then there were tight blue pants that seemed to be for fashion and not practical use she was used to, but did find shorts that she hoped went to her knees.
Grabbing a dress and the only spandex shorts in there, she placed them in one hand before she spotted what she knew wouldn't fit her no matter what. Placing the clothes on the box Hinata's started to undress, placing everything but her undergarments on the sink counter and got dressed. These were clothes she really never wore before and had only seen similar ones on passing villagers before, but as she looked at her reflection Hinata loved how she looked. A stray thought on how Naruto should react to her new appearance caused her to blush and heart flutter before cooling herself down and opening the door to see Beth on her phone and look at her. "H-how d-do I look?"
Beth took in the dress she remembered Summer never really liking and was glad someone actually liked it. "You look beautiful, Hinata…" the blonde mother then noticed her hair down before an idea popped in her head. "I have an idea, follow me." Hinata followed the older woman to her room and walked in behind as she stopped at a tall brown dresser. "Turn around real quick." Following her instructions Beth started to brush her lavender hair. "Just wait till Naruto sees you, he'll be all over you." The older woman could only chuckled as steam could practically be seen coming off her red face, too embarrassed to say anything at her surprising comment.
Once done Beth turned her around to get one final look before directing her to the full body mirror, watching her pale eyes widen at seeing herself dressed up. "I… I look beautiful…" Hinata had never thought of herself ugly or attractive but as she saw herself dressed up in clothes she liked, it was as if she was the most beautiful woman in the world and she hoped Naruto would think the same. "Naruto should be done getting dressed by now, so let's go see him." Hinata hestatied and Beth could see that there was the fact that he may not really notice her change but something told her that wasn't really the case. "You just gotta take that first step forward, boys tend to be more dense the blonder they are." She giggled at that and felt part of her nervousness and fears disappear, understanding what she meant and feeling confident in her presence.
Taking a deep breath in and exhaling it, the lavender beauty stepped forward and out into the hallway with the blonde mother behind her, seeing Naruto leaned against the wall of their room. The moment the sunshiny blonde boy saw her his eyes widened, mouth gasp slightly and he felt his brain completely stop working in order to capture this moment. She was dressed in an orange mid-calf dress with small sunflowers scattered across, exposing her creamy white skin, her beautiful strong legs and arms, and her chest which used to be hidden by her jacket wrapped in white bandages. Her hair was tied up into a high ponytail and a single braid brushing the left side of her red tinted cheeks. He knew she was cute but she looked so beautiful in this moment that he was now more glad to be able to witness this, willing to go through everything again if it meant coming to this moment.
Hinata looked over at Naruto and blushed at seeing him wear a loose short sleeve black shirt and faded blue pants, combined with his tan skin and messy sun kissed blonde hair… 'Naruto-kun is so cool!' She squealed in happiness, not noticing how he was staring at her as she was busy looking over his muscles and noticing a few small scars on his arms. Beth chuckled at their reactions before her eyes too noticed the scars on his hands and grew worried, remembering what her father said to her this morning before breakfast. Whether it was done due to the people of his world or of his own violation, she would ask another time because she could see how worried the younger girl was at seeing them too.
Naruto was the first to take a step forward as he approached them with a tint of red on his whisker cheeks, his right hand coming up to scratch the back of his neck in habit. "You look really beau-PRETTY! You look really pretty, Hinata-chan!" He said, quickly catching himself before saying how beautiful she was watching as her face went from a slight tint to bright red with a shy smile. "Y-you look ve-very h-handsome yourself, Naruto-kun!" Beth watched as both kids interacted with each other and found it adorable at how they obviously had feelings for one another. While she had her worries about their past, there was always another time when they fully settled in and were more comfortable around everyone before she asked. Whether they decided to tell her or not was fully on them, but she would not forgive the people who hurt these two children who were now part of her family!
Chapter Two is Done! Let's Go!!! It was mainly on Beth's interactions with the two with introducing both Summer and Morty. Beth left the Smith name and now is back to being a Sanchez along with Summer and Morty. We see how familiar the two are for the most part as if they had been friends for quite sometime- nudge nudge wink wink. Beth won't remarry and whether or not they attend school is still up in the air since they don't have any identification on Earth.
Next chapter will be with them out shopping and getting them to see just how different their two worlds are but also just as exciting with all these new things. I apologise for the late chapter update but I'm going to do my best with keeping a constant flow of chapter undated for all my projects.
