"You poisoned me! How could you do that to me?" I started shaking heavily. Scratching at the flesh that I could feel his venom was hiding below.

"I'm taking it out." I ran into the kitchen, hearing his footsteps close behind me.

"What are you doing, Amanda, stop!" he shouted at me. But I ignored him. I took the kitchen knife out of the drawer, piercing into my arm. Hot red blood came boiling out.

"I just need to cut it out…just if I can take it out by force, I will be free." I carved out a piece of flesh. But it had escaped me. It was fast, moving inside my body. Hiding. I could feel it moving to my stomach.

"I need something sharper. Scissors." My bloodied hands were opening all the drawers, until I found what I was looking for. Long, dangerous sharp scissors. With pointy tips. My mother used them to cut open the turkey for christmas.

"Don't do that, Amanda!" his face was mad. He was pale as a sheet, wrestling the scissors out of my hands. What are you doing? Are you insane?" he was livid. Holding my arms by force, immobilizing me. When he realized I could no longer move, he finally breathed out.

"You can't just cut it out. It's encoded into your body. I am encoded. You are only harming yourself. It's stupid what you are doing.." he looked at me.

"Stupid? To want to get away from you? I hate you! You ruined me. You are a monster. A freaking dangerous monster! Let me ..off!" I tried to wrestle myself out of his iron grip.

"Is that how you see me?" he laughed a dark, barking laugh. He looked terrifying, his eyes looked cold and dangerous.

"You don't know what I am. Or what I can do. Don't tempt me Amanda!" he said in a dangerous low voice, before letting go of my hand.

"Ouch!" I looked at the hole I had carved out in my arm, which was now slowly closing itself right in front of my eyes.

"Am I no longer human?" I could feel a pain inside my body as old as time.

"You will always be a human, human girl. Unlike me." he said, and to showcase his power, he lifted me up into the air and towards him. Without touching me. My whole body was transported by the sheer power of him.

"Let me down!" I insisted. He dared me with his eyes, before finally obliging. Blood, so much blood was on the floor. My blood.

"Amanda" I heard the whisper first.

"Amanda" the voice came again. As if the wind could speak to me. "It is time for you..your calling…" the light female voice whispered into my ear. "He needs you."

I suddenly woke up drenched in my own sweat. Rio was peacefully lying next to me. Blissfully snoring. I sat straight up. It was just a dream, I told myself. Just a dream. It had felt so real. The knife, my blood. Rio lifting me through the air, like it was nothing.

"RIO!" I pushed him.

"What?" he mumbled in his sleep.

"Wake up!" I shoved him harder.

"What is it? I was so peacefully sleeping…" he slowly opened an eyelid, before taking me in. Looking at my t-shirt that was wet from sweat. From my shivering body.

"Are you okay?" he looked concerned, the tiredness all gone.

"I had a nightmare. It felt so real." I told him about it all. Ever detail. Not leaving anything out. He took in a deep breath.

"Do you believe in parallel universes?" he asked me.

"As in?" I huffed, looking away from his mesmerizing violet eyes, embroidered by long dark eyelashes.

"As in your consciousness living in other universes, parallel to this one." he explained slowly.

"Your mind communicated with yourself, in another universe. Sleep is the only way the mind can travel that fast to talk to yourself. Very far away." he explained matter of factly.

"So I actually just lived that in another universe right now?" I looked at him suspiciously.

"It seems like it, yes."

"Ok so if that is the case, then when you lifted me through the air without even moving, then I guess you can do that in this universe as well, right?" I mocked him. All my fear and pain replaced by annoyance.

"You humans are such a weird species. You think you're so superior." he laughed, before getting out of bed. I couldn't help but admire his sculptured torso. The pants he was wearing were hanging dangerously low. Before suddenly I felt myself being lifted into the air, gliding seamlessly through it. As if an invisible force was pulling myself to him. Like a magnet, he pulled me towards him, not lifting a single finger. I was inches from him, my feet not touching the ground. He looked at me with curiosity, not once breaking eye contact before making a step forward, pressing his lips onto mine.
