"No, we can't just take in another student like that. Where is he even from?" the school principal looked down at me.
"If I may," Ryo intervened, when I tried to argue back. "My parents and Amanda's parents are friends. They send me to them because from where I come from it's too dangerous to live right now. It would only be temporary, Sir. Until I can go back home, when it's safe." Ryo explained. The school principal looked skeptical.
He frowned, scratching his nose.
"Fine, for today you may join Amanda in class. But this is not how it works around here, young man. I expect to talk to your parents. Or your parents, Amanda." he looked at me with a serious face.
We walked out of his office.
"Not safe, huh? You're not safe for everyone else." I said mockingly.
"You'd know first hand." he smirked, his eyes lighting up darkly.
"What class do we have now? I'm very excited!" he rubbed his hands together. What a human behavior, for someone I kept having to remind myself is not.
"Do," I took a breath, I felt ridiculous asking this "Does everyone else of your race look like you?"
I asked, gulping down my saliva.
"You mean if everyone is as beautiful?" he laughed.
"Fine, yes, is everyone good looking like that?" I said exasperated. Admiring his perfect face, his deep otherworldly eyes. The colour, that looked purple, or was it brown? As if it was dancing between the two, not sure which direction to go to. Looking into his eyes was like looking at the magnificence of the universe. Time stopped. Until he blinked, waking me up from whatever transe I was in.
"I suppose so, by your standards. But then again, humans really are very bland." He looked around, displeasure drawing on his traits. "Well, not all of them." he looked at me, a devilish smirk on his face. His eyes roaming up and down my body. As if he could see through my uniform. I instantly felt hot and uncomfortable. My palms were sweaty.
"But I am royal, little girl. By definition, the selection is always more" he paused, thinking for a moment "refined", he finished.
We had arrived to the classroom. The math test. Oh god, I had forgotten about that. Shit!
