-Potter Manor; Aug. 15, 1992-
"Welcome Lady and Lord Rose, and young mistress," greeted Dobby, happily. "Please follow Dobby to the living room. Master Potter and his family are waiting."
Three people followed the small house elf. An elegant woman who has long black hair with red highlights and red eyes. Then there's a man with shoulder length black hair in a ponytail and silver eyes. Lastly, a small preteen girl who has short black hair with a strand of red hair on her left side and purple eyes. They entered the living room to see the Potter's and a blond girl waiting for them.
"Welcome to Potter Manor, former home of my cousin," greeted Alex, then placed the twins in front of him, "My niece, Iris and nephew, Harry; my cousin's children."
Harry bowed while Iris curtsied.
"My wife, Petunia and my daughter, Azalea," he continued then going over to the blond girl, "and this is Luna Lovegood, a family friend."
All three curtsied.
"Everyone, this is the Rose's. Annalise is the new Head of Magical Children Protection Services and her husband, Hale is a researcher for Magical Creatures," finished Alex.
"Pleasure," the children greeted.
Annalise smiled, "Greetings. And this is Winter, my daughter. We transferred to Britain cause my husband will be researching creatures around here. So, Winter will be going to Hogwarts as a second year."
"Really? We're in our second year," said Azalea.
"Winter can join us to get our school supplies," Harry offered.
"Thank you for the offer, young man. Well, what do you say, Winter?" Hale grinned as he looked down at his daughter and placed his hand on her shoulder.
Winter looked away but nodded, "I guess that would be alright father."
"Why don't you show Winter the gardens, Harry?" Petunia asked.
Harry nodded, "If it's alright with her parents."
The Rose's agreed and watched their daughter follow the Potter siblings and Luna out of the living room.
When the children reached the backyard, Winter's eyes widen upon seeing the large field and garden. Sure, her family manor was big and has many acres, but compared to Potter Manor, her place looks like a cottage. Continuing looking, she spotted the stables. Excitedly, she was about to ask if they could go, however, before she could, Iris picked her up and hugged her tightly.
Winter leads out a squeak.
"Sorry, but – you're so cute! Like a china doll!" Iris giggled as her eyes shined. Still holding Winter, she turned to her siblings and friend, "Don't you guys agree?"
Harry crossed his arms, "I say you should put her down before she hexes you Lils."
Iris pouted, but let's go of Winter, who turned around and glared darkly at her. She gritted her teeth, slightly, "Your brother's right! You can't just go around picking people up like that without permission! And I'm not a china doll! I'm just small for my age!"
"If looks can kill, you'll be dead, Lily flower," Luna giggled, covering her mouth.
Azalea placed her hand on Winter's shoulder, "Unfortunately, that's just her personality. She's a Gryffindor after all."
"Gryffindor?"
"One of the four houses that you can be sorted at Hogwarts," replied Harry. "There's Gryffindor for bravery, Ravenclaw for knowledge, Hufflepuff for loyalty and Slytherin for cunning. My twin was sorted in Gryffindor, my cousin in Ravenclaw and I'm in Slytherin."
"So, I'll be sorted as well," Winter grumbled, tapping her chin. "…I'll probably be sorted in Ravenclaw since I love to read and learn."
"There's more than just knowledge. It's also about the unknown and curiosity," Luna winked.
A light blush spread across Winter's face, she asked shyly, "Are you in Ravenclaw as well?"
Luna shook her head, "No, I previously attended Beauxbaton, but it wasn't right for me, so mama and I returned to Britain not too long ago. I've be studying the first-year spells to catch up."
Winter giggled slightly before nodding.
"Not much to study," Iris stated, making a face.
"Come take a seat," said Harry, pointing at one of the chairs. "If you like we can answer any questions you have about Hogwarts."
"Alright," Winter said hesitantly then taking a seat next to Luna. She began asking questions about the classes she's likely going to take.
-Diagon Alley; Aug. 19-
"Thanks for taking me to get my supplies, Lady Potter," Winter said.
"It's no problem, dear. And please call me Petunia. That whole Lady title is for Ministry business only…and frankly, makes me feel old."
Winter and Luna giggled, then the small teen looked down at her list. Reading it over, she frowned, "There sure are a lot of books for Defense. Is this normal for Hogwarts?"
The others all took a quick glance at their list before an annoyed look crossed their faces.
"Oh Merlin, Dumbles has gone mental," groaned Iris.
"I can't believe he hired that fraud," growled Azalea, tightening her grip on the parchment.
"Even I know he's a loony! Loonier than me!" Luna bellowed.
"If he dares try to do anything, I'll hex him into the depths of hell," said Harry, darkly.
Winter looked at all of them with confusion…yet astounded by the shared irritation from everyone.
Petunia sighed, "Come on children, let's get your school supplies."
The children nodded and continued with their shopping. In a few stores, most mistook Winter as an eight-year-old, not a twelve-year-old. While shopping, they ran-in with the Weasley's and the Malfoy's…together?
That surprised many wizards and witches.
Joining the two families, they learned that Lucius was helping Arthur to regain his family's manor and was able to regain some of their lost wealth.
During their greetings, Luna was happy to be reunited with Ginny as she used to live nearby the Weasley's when her father was alive. After his death, Luna's mother took Luna to France where her parents lived so they could mourn the loss of their husband and father.
Pandora became the best Potion Mistress in France. Somehow the brewing helped her to cope with the death of her husband. He died while searching for an unknown magical creature that he believed exists; Crumple-Horned Snorkack.
Finally, their last shop, Flourish and Blotts, to buy their books. Before entering, in the front window had a picture of a golden-haired wizard with stunning pearl-white teeth. A placard below declared:
Here today!
Signing copies of his autobiography, Magical Me – Gilderoy Lockhart!
They began to tread through a chattering throng of middle-aged ladies, all craning their necks for a view of Lockhart, who's signing books at the rear of the shop. At the sight of him, only Molly was fixing her hair.
With a snort Ron leaned over to Harry and Draco, "Mum fancies him."
Draco rolled his eyes, "They shouldn't be so easily fooled. My mother and Aunt Petunia aren't and I'm glad you three are not either."
"Oh please, I can see the fakeness that blasted man is trying to display," snarked Iris.
Luna frowned, "There's a bunch of Nargles surrounding him."
'Nargles?' mouthed Winter, confused.
Upon seeing it, Iris whispered to her ear, "It's a magical creature that only beast speakers can see. Like Luna."
"Oh, cool," whispered Winter.
"Mother wanted to curse him to pieces during Yule ball in France," grinned Azalea before making a disgusted face, "He wanted her to divorce my father so he can marry her and raise the Twins-Who-Lived properly."
"Lockhart…Lockhart – wait a moment!" That's when Winter's face distorted in disgust, "I've heard about him at least once or twice in Australia. My mother never believed what he'd wrote. Says that his adventures don't add up or something."
"And now we have to suffer with his idiocy at school," grunted Harry, glaring darkly and the others nodded. Suddenly, a short man with a camera slammed into them as he passed.
"Out of the way! Daily Prophet coming through!"
Instantly, Lockhart looks up and flashes a blinding smile before gasping. "Can it be? Why it is – the Potter twins!"
The crowd began to whisper excitedly as Lockhart stands from his seat and dives forward, attempting to seize the twins' hands when Lucius stops him.
"Now, Now, Gilderoy. You don't want to be accused of assaulting two young children, do you? And it's the Twins-Who-Lived, no less," warned Lucius with a smirk.
"Of-Of course not!" Lockhart stuttered before clearing his throat, "Ladies and gentlemen! What a glorious moment for the Potter twins to have stepped into Flourish and Blotts this morning to purchase my autobiography, Magical Me – which incidentally is celebrating its twenty-seventh week atop The Daily Prophet's Bestseller list. They had no idea that they would, in fact, be leaving with my entire collection! Free of charge, of course."
As the crowd cheered, Harry and Iris had towering stacks of books shoved into their arms.
"Well, looks like we don't have to waste our time being here," murmured Iris.
Her aunt shrinks the books and puts them into her purse.
"We'll wait outside," said Harry, turning to leave.
"We're going with them," said the Weasley twins and received a nod from their parents.
The children made their way out, but their exit was blocked by an older man with a young teenage boy.
"Well, Well, what do we have here? At first, I didn't believe it, but now…I can't believe your family is associating with…blood traitors, Malfoy."
"Well, I've come to realize the feud between our families was getting rather…childish," replied Lucius, coldly. "Arthur and I agreed to end this useless feud and start anew…Avery."
Daniel Avery Sr. snorted before eyeing the Potter twins. He narrowed his eyes, "Pleasure to finally meet you two…though…in the papers, it stated you two had scars on your foreheads due to the rebound killing curse. Was that true?"
Few years back, reporters were able to spot the twins at France due to how the twins were carbon copies of their parents. They secretly took pictures when they had a lightning scar on their foreheads.
"We did, but our uncle…"
"…had them healed when we were little."
"He took us to Egypt cause…"
"…they know more about curses – ancient ones too!"
"The goblins there healed our scars," the two finished.
"I see," murmured Daniel with a twitch. Irritated, he reached Ginny's cauldron, removing her new Transfiguration textbook. "So, you can finally afford your… litter new books, huh Arthur? But you'll always be a disgrace among the purebloods."
"We have a very different idea who's a disgrace among wizards, Avery," said Arthur, darkly.
"Come father, let's not waste our time talking to them," sneered the teen. Daniel nodded, tossing Ginny's textbook back to her cauldron and both walked out of the bookstore.
"I never trusted that man," stated Narcissa.
"Nor I," said Lucius and Arthur.
"He's not a well-liked man at the Ministry from what I hear," said Pandora.
Azalea crossed her arms, "I'm only glad that his son ignored me last year. Mathew, he was a Ravenclaw Prefect…I'm certain he got the Head Boy badge this year."
Luna frowned, "He's going to be trouble…I just feel it."
"Well, if he dares to mess with yea…" Fred started.
"…you just let us know," finished George.
Azalea smiled before they all left the bookstore while the parents stayed to get their books.
-King Cross, Sept. 1-
The Potter twins stood by and watched each Weasley go through the barrier.
Petunia and Alexander allowed the Potter siblings to spend the entire summer with the Weasley's. At the last day of the summer, Petunia took Winter and Luna at the Burrow since their parents wouldn't be able to take them to the station cause of work.
However, luck wasn't on their side the following morning. All of them woke up late and had to rush to get everyone ready. Then they drove to the station but finding a parking spot took them about half an hour.
Harry watched his cousin go through the barrier as she wanted to find a compartment for all of them, but when Iris and Ron tried to go through – crash!
Winter and Luna rushed over to assist them on getting up.
"W-What…just happened?" Iris whispered while Harry was telling the guard that his sister and friend had accidentally lost control of their trolleys. "Why can't we get through?" she asked, placing her hand on the brick wall.
"I dunno. There must be a reason the barrier was sealed," replied Ron, knocking his fist on the bricks.
"…um, doesn't the train leave at eleven o'clock?" Luna inquired, looking over at the clock. A chime rung out as it hit eleven.
"What are we going to do now?" Winter worried, a slight whimper in her voice.
"We should wait for Mr. and Mrs. Weasley at the car," said Harry as he returned to them.
"The car!" Iris stated, excitedly. She quickly turned to Ron, "We can use the car to get to school. You said that you've driven the car a few times, right? You can drive us there."
Ron looked uncertain, but Harry quickly put his foot down.
"No, Lils! Think about what you are saying! Ron could get his dad in a lot of trouble with the Ministry if he does!"
Iris narrowed her eyes, "Mr. and Mrs. Weasley can't get back through a closed barrier, and we must find a way to get to Hogwarts! The car is the only way!"
"You're going to regret it," song Luna.
Iris snorted, "Come Ron, if they don't want to come, then fine. They can miss the Welcome feast, let's go."
Harry, Luna and Winter watched the two dash out of the platforms. Winter bite her lip, turning to Harry, "What are we going to do?"
Harry looked around, "There should be a floo network around here. I can contact my godfather as he's the Potion Professor and the Head House of Slytherin."
Luna clapped her hands together, happily, "That's right! Uncle Sev works there! I can't wait for his classes!" She turned to Winter, grabbing the girl's hands, "He sometimes worked with my mama a couple of times. Mama and Sev are the best in Potions."
"Really?" Winter awed.
"Come on, this way," said Harry, pushing his trolley.
The girls followed Harry to the end of the platforms. The area looked abandoned, and Winter could see a few fireplaces hidden away in dark corners.
Harry walked over at a large bowl of floo powder and tossed it into the fireplace. He called, "Severus Snape's Quarters."
Waiting for a moment he spoke, "Uncle Raven, are you there?"
Silence…
"…Harry? Shouldn't you be in the Express?"
"Well, I – we should, but for some odd reason the barrier closed itself," replied Harry. "We missed the train because of it."
"The barrier…closed? Strange. Step back, I'm going through."
Harry stepped aside as his godfather walked out from the fireplace. Severus looked around, then frowned, "Where's your sister and Mr. Weasley?"
Harry crossed his arms, "They took a bloody flying car to school."
Severus cursed with a sneer, "Idiots…come, let's floo to my quarters."
Luna stepped in front of him, "It's good to see you again, Sev – I mean Professor Snape."
Severus smiled a bit, "Indeed. You've grown a bit the last time I saw you child. I hope you can teach a thing or two to some of these…dunderhead students."
Luna giggled while Harry smirked, but Winter was confused.
"Wait, the students can't be that bad. I mean, I'm not that bad, but the older students must be somewhat good, right?" Winter asked.
"You have no idea how bad they can be," murmured Harry. He then grabbed some powder with the girls by his side, then walked to the fireplace. "Hold on – Severus Snape's quarters!" he shouted.
Within minutes, Harry and the girls were sitting at a warm living room while Severus was unshrinking their trunks.
"I must notify the Headmaster about the barrier. The three of you will stay here until the feast. I'll be back," stated Severus before leaving.
"So, any ideas?" Winter asked.
Luna walked to her trunk, opened it and took out some of Lockhart's books and some muggle pens.
Harry smirked, "Doodle time."
-Hogwarts, Welcome feast-
During the welcome speech, Harry told Draco what happened at the station and what his sister and Ron decided to do. The blond Slytherin shook his head, annoyed with the two idiots.
During the speech, Albus announced three new professors.
First, was Gilderoy Lockhart, the new DADA professor who gave a dashing smile with a wave that caused almost all the girls to sigh, dreamily or giggled. Albus knew this former Ravenclaw wasn't qualified to be a professor, but he was perfect so the Potter twins wouldn't learn much once again. Well, that's what he hopes.
Next was Remus Lupin, the new History of Magic professor since Binns finally moved on. Albus was rather surprised when Malfoy Sr. recommended Remus to be the new professor in the board meeting. The elder wizard thought the court wouldn't allow it because Remus was a werewolf, but surprisingly the Minister even Dolores Umbridge allowed it.
Finally, the last new professor was none other than Petunia Potter, the Muggle Studies professor since Charity resigned, unsuspectedly. This stunned Albus since the blocks he placed shouldn't have been removed. So many questions ran through his head, but he shook it off, ending his speech and allowed Minerva to start the first-year sorting.
Once Ginny was sorted in Gryffindor, Minerva announced two new transfer students. Everyone started whispering upon watching a rather small girl walk to the stool when Minerva called out her name. The sorting hat barely touched her head and shouted 'Ravenclaw.'
With a smile, Winter slipped off the stool and walked over to the Ravenclaw table. When it was Luna's turn, the same thing happened; the hat barely touched her head and was sorted in Ravenclaw. Luna simply skipped to the Ravenclaw table and sat next to the small girl before the food appeared in front of them.
A few minutes passed and the doors opened, revealing Filch who was pulling Iris and Ron's ears. "Headmaster…they are here," sneered Filch.
Albus nodded, "Take them to my office. Severus, Minerva…and Petunia if you would."
The three stood up and followed the Headmaster out of the Great hall.
Harry sighed, playing with his food, "Well, they made it in one piece…wonder how much trouble they're going to be in?"
Draco simply shrugged and the two continued with their meals.
