Welcome to a new chapter of Huntik Shadow. I am a very sporadic writer. I hope to upload more but things are not the best atm. Anyway, I hope that this will help me improve my writing and any feedback on how to improve specifically fighting scenes would be very appreciated.
Chapter 1: Shadows in the Catacombs
"Seriously Dante," spoke our blonde hero as he was walking down a side street trying to look like any normal inconspicuous stranger, "you said follow from a distance, let you handle it and what do I find."
"A bunch of mooks running into the catacombs of France," continued the blonde protagonist to himself as he spotted a bunch of organisation suits rushing into the catacombs of France. As the blonde peered down into the darkness a suite who was lagging behind spotted the supposed inconspicuous stranger.
"Hey you!" exclaimed the red-haired suit with short cropped hair, "All civilians are told to evacuate there is a gas leak."
"A Gas leak, really?" questioned the blonde, "that was the best diversion tactic you idiots could come up with, at least make it a bit more believable."
"What, the..." began the red head in sunglasses before a fist impacted his nose, landing with a huge crunch, "FUCK!!"
"Clatterbang," spoke the blonde as if his fist didn't just relocate the suites nose, as soon as it was uttered the open palm of Naruto glowed purplish white and a sphere appeared around the agent's head and an ungodly noise began to disorientate the man further. Before he could recover the whiskered warrior slammed his palm into the gut of the cannon fodder agent folding him over his arm.
"And finally," began Naruto as he whispered the next part, "Force-sleep," it was if a puppeteer had cut the strings off a puppet the agent slumped to the ground completely out cold.
"Okay," spoke Naruto as he turned towards the entrance of the catacombs while pulling his scarf up to cover the bottom half of his face and the black hood from behind his back over his flaxen coloured hair, "time to clean out some garbage."
Deeper into the catacombs Dante's holotome alerted him to the fact backup had arrived all it did was cause him to smile knowing they had someone else to divert and lower the number of Defoe's small army.
As Naruto began sneaking his way deeper into the catacombs, he began picking off any unfortunate agent that happen to be alone, and with sound wall, well no one can hear their screams as he silently worked his way through some of the forces down below.
"Hmmm," he mused to himself as he began moving to an open clearing with in this underground maze, "if I wear a useless xerox copy where would I be."
"Right behind you!" screamed a heavily accented Frenchmen speaking English, "you Huntik Foundation dog," and indeed there was a brunet agent this time in an open coat and turtle neck holding a glowing Litho-titan amulet in one hand and a charged Raypulse in the other.
"Do not move," the nameless man spoke as he stepped closer, "You will hand over the ring now."
As his hand was outstretched as if waiting for the ring while Naruto still had his back to the man.
"The only problem with that," spoke Naruto as he was suppressing his smirk, "I don't have ring on me you see the ring wasn't my mission."
"What do you mean you aren't after a ring !?" raged the brunette as the answer only infuriated the agent further until Naruto smirked over his shoulder.
"What are you going to do about it?" teased the blond as the amulet around his neck began to glow a soft red.
"AHHH! You will pay for your idiocy," The agent yelled as the purple light surrounding his amulet began glowing stronger until, "Jakoul, Rip him apart."
A bright purple light is all could be seen as from the amulet a stone like ghoul emerged with two large stone claws for hands and a mane of untamed black hair set apron a demonic looking face.
"GUUHHAAHH!" the summoned titan screeched as it formed, however the second the amulet flashed showing the summon of the titan Naruto vaulted forwards and called upon his own titan hidden within his amulet.
"Hold the line, Scolopen!"
Out from a bright warm red light a weird mix of a man's body wielding a large club like weapon and a large wooden shield with four large spikes, one at each corner had formed. The weird part however was the giant bug like neck extending from where the head should be ending in a large eyed bug face with small black mandibles the clicked with excitement.
As soon as Scolopen had formed he charges at the Jakoul titan to distract him. As he charged forward, he raised his shield to tackle Jakoul out of the way of its seeker. The suit seeing a titan it had never seen before faulted for a second, a second to long. The second Jakoul was out of the way Naruto sprang up from his forward vault and faced the enemy seeker.
With a whispered, "Twin-Spell," both of his hands lit up with different coloured light his left glowing icy-blue and his right cackling with yellow light, "Augurfrost, Raypulse!"
And with that announcement twin beams of energy one cold and frigid and the other unformed and wild struck the enemy seeker with ferocity and sent him catering into the wall of the larger room with a loud smack. While this was happening the Jakoul titan's claw struck true and severed the head of Scolopen at the neck. Now normally this would result in the titan returning to its amulet however Scolopen is unique.
From the headless body a new Scolopen head rapidly emerged and struck at the Jakoul again. While this happened the severed head rapidly grew a new body without its shield or club but it didn't need it. With a quick movement it sprung up behind Jakoul taking it by surprise and grabbing it in a full nelson. Now immobilized Jakoul could only watch as the original Scolopen body raised its club and struck down sending Jakoul back to its amulet with a burst of purple light.
Seeing the enemy titan was down Naruto walked over to the downed suit agent and pointed his pen palm at him, as he did his hand began to glow a unique silver colour and with a quick uttering of, "Chain Bind," a large number of silvery chains burst from his hand and rapidly tied up the suit.
"Alright," he spoke to himself as his now two titans moved towards him, "Another one down, good work guys."
As he spoke, he pats each titan on the shoulder and they clicked their mandibles in joy before both turned red and returned to the amulet around his neck. Seeing that his work here was done he was about to move on a soft growling was heard from in front of him and as if by magic a small lizard appeared sitting there staring at him. The lizard in question was a pale green colour with dark blue almost black spikes running down its back. Around its neck was a chain with a glowing ring suspended on it.
"Gareon?" questioned the blonde as the lizard titan growled in greeting before jumping onto his shoulder.
"Hello to you too," he spoke as slowly strokes the lizard on its head, "so this is the Ring of Arc."
As he looks at the amulet it tries to reach out to him but it cannot due to the shielding placed on it by Sophie Casterwill. With Gareon now on his shoulder Naruto wasted no time is getting Gareon and the ring out of the Catacombs. Going back the way he came he quick ran past all the downed suits he had beat along the way until he reached the entrance and he spies the original suit that he took down having come to reporting hat he had been defeated and someone else was in the catacombs.
With a silent movement he uttered once again for the same victim, "Clatterbang," however this time it destroyed the earpiece he was wearing and disorientated him enough for another swift blow to the back of his neck to knock him out. With his business taken care of and Gareon invisible Naruto made it swiftly to the Huntik Foundation safehouse in Paris who was ready for the delivery of the Ring of Arc.
Later at the Safe House
"So, you had this all thing planned out didn't you Dante?" spoke Lok Lambert a tall lanky blonde teenager.
"Dante always has a plan," Spoke the lovely young Sophie Casterwill as she flipped her hair over her shoulder.
All Dante was doing was smirking until Zahlia spoke up, "One question for you Dante?" she spoke as everyone turned their attention to her.
"While is was fighting someone mentioned that there was someone else in the Catacombs with us, even Gareon confirmed it for me before returning," as she spoke her eyes narrowed, "Who else was down their?"
Dante's smirk continued and you could see the amusement in his eyes as he spoke, "well while we hatched the plan for the security of the ring, I decided to ensure our chance of winning by calling in an old friend."
"An old friend of Dante's," spoke Lok, "he must be a great seeker."
As Lok finished speaking a voice from above spoke out, "I would hope I'm a good seeker, aye Dante?"
At once the team turned and looked above at the banister were leaning on the rail was our favourite character, all Dante could do was smirk as Zahlia's eyes narrowed in recognition of the annoyance that was up above looking down on them.
"Dante, who is this?" spoke Sophie while looking at the blonde who was only a few years older than her.
Dante just smiled and decided to introduce the stranger, "Lok, Sophie this is Naruto the foundations Most Promising and Unpredictable Agent his record speaks for himself at his age he is already the foundations 3rd best seeker."
All Sophie and Lok could do was look on in awe a young adult just barely older than them was already the third best seeker for the Huntik foundation.
"Nice to meet you Lok and Sophie," spoke the blonde as he jumped down to greet them, "and it nice to see you again Zahlia," he finished with a smirking smile at the blue haired women as all she did was intensify her glare at him.
