Disclaimer: I own nothing to do with Destiny or My Hero Academia, I am just putting my own spin on things and having some fun.
HAI!
I got distracted, but it's a good distraction I SWEAR!
Anyway, I've been working on this bit for awhile and I spent FAR too long debating on what to call -!
Oh right, technically a spoiler even though it happens in this episode...
crossrain01: Hai again! You are quite the reader. I swear you post a comment within the first 6 hours of an episode dropping every single time. Thank you! It's nice to know someone follows that closely. As for your comment, Yes, the reactions are gonna be amazing! I've got a few interesting ones that will be coming up very soon!
OH! I keep forgetting to explain something, tiny little detail that most won't even care about. BUT I DO! Morimitsu's gloves have very small slits at the ends of the fingers that his claws can slot perfectly through, however he would need to use a different pair without slits for outer space as his normal ones aren't sealed because of the claw holes.
As per usual thank you for reading and see you next time!
ENJOY!

Chapter Ten: Survival and Responsibility
Red Zone. M.H.A. Universe. Just after teleport.
Eraserhead saw the flash of light in the gap of the open door, he looked to his right and locked eyes with one of his companions. She looked back at him and nodded quickly, her sky blue eyes glowing a tiny bit brighter as she silently signalled for the hero to move. As the two shot off towards the large doors they left their third member behind for a second, the pink and purple haired woman making a dash to try and catch up with the sudden burst of speed. As they approached the door they slowed to a halt, Eraserhead looked to the woman lagging a few steps behind and she slowed. Bringing her right hand up to her own cheek she activated her quirk, her arm split open at the elbow and a rifle barrel extended from her limb. Then she grabbed some of her own hair and pulled it off, moulding it into the form of a bullet before inserting it into her right palm. "Good to go Nagant?" Eraserhead asked, receiving a curt nod in return he looked toward his other companion. She was looking at him while slotting a new magazine into her rifle, her glowing eyes illuminating her white face-plate in the shadows of the building they were attacking. "I'm ready" she said as she racked the charging handle, Aizawa nodded. "Let's go" he said before peeking into the open room.
The room was massive, a raised platform curving around the back of the space in a semicircle with stairs up on the left and right. There were two visible vex plates from their current position and above them the smoking and mangled remains of what were once a pair of shield emitters. There was a large Vex unit in the middle of the room, clearly badly damaged and on it's last legs. But a pair of Restorative Minotaurs were doing their best to put it back together. "Looks like they failed to stop it's activation sequence in time, they will be somewhere in my world right now. Hopefully somewhere relatively safe" the robotic woman stated as she marched into the room and straight towards the large machine. "Is there a way to follow them?" Eraserhead questioned as he followed the woman down the slope. "Only one, kill this thing and cut out it's eye" she stated calmly "I'll get the eye and take care of things on my world, I need you to start the hunt for that Disciple. Traveller knows what will happen if they manage to evade us, the destruction they can cause..." she trailed off. "Elsie" Aizawa said softly "Not now Shota, we have a job to do" Elsie argued as she glanced over her shoulder at the man. He stared at her for a second before relenting, she was right after all. There were lives at stake.
The pair readied themselves and then charged toward the damaged Vex unit, the room came to life and vex teleport signatures lit up the area around them. "Nagant! Take care of left flank and upstairs, we have the right and front handled!" Aizawa ordered while holding one hand to his right ear to activate his mic. "Copy!" came the reply from the team's sniper. By the time the Vex units had managed to teleport in they had already found themselves under attack. Aizawa leapt over top of a group of goblin class units and wrapped them in his capture scarf before giving a tug and using the weight of his prey to pull himself into them. He struck the nearest unit and sent it flying back into another two, then he dragged the remaining three towards himself and drew a knife to puncture the core of each as they stumbled past. With all six taken care of he rushed towards the middle once more.
Elsie had turned off to the right and formed a small crystal in her palm before throwing it into the middle of her group. Upon landing the crystal expanded into a football sized cluster and emitted an ice cold air current that carried tiny crystals with it, they landed on the vex units and started to build up. Very quickly the goblin units were frozen and a single punch from Elsie was enough to send out a burst of energy that shattered the whole squadron.
Nagant was having fun engaging the enemy from a distance while her team kept their attention for her. She had used rapid and weak shots to cull the Vex numbers swiftly and now was aiming to knock out the Minotaurs in the middle before they proved a problem. Pulling some hair from her head the living sniper-rifle moulded a bullet with a hollow core, then she closed her eyes and breathed deeply. 'Focus, don't panic just breath' she thought to herself. Crystals began to form on her hand and her breath caught for a moment before she relaxed again, the crystals filled the hole in the bullet and Nagant opened her eyes and smirked. Then she loaded the shot into her right palm and aimed at one of the Minotaurs. After sighting in on the core she fired and the Vex unit staggered backwards and froze, the crystals encasing it's entire body, another quick reload and shot to the core shattered the frozen machine into tiny shards.
"Well done Nagant, how does your arm feel after that one?" Elsie's voice came over the intercom. "A bit stiff and numb, but still movable" Nagant replied while massaging feeling back into her right arm. "Good, better than last time. Stasis takes a generous amount of concentration to learn how to use, it will take time to become second nature. But it will serve you well" the woman explained while her pulse rifle barked out a few bursts at the last remaining Minotaur. "Make sure to keep practising whilst I'm away, but be safe. You can't resurrect like a guardian can so take it slow" Nagant rolled her eyes "Yes mum" she replied sarcastically "What was that?" Elsie bit back "Nothing!" the pink haired woman folded her rifle back into her arm and started walking towards the centre of the room where the other two were waiting for her.
As she was approaching Elsie started climbing the frame of the large Vex unit, it was still inactive due to the damage it had sustained and thus was completely harmless. So within a few seconds the robotic woman was up at it's head, she found a good foothold and drew a knife from her belt. Then started wedging the blade behind the eye and cutting through everything that held it in place. Nagant reached Aizawa and nudged his arm with her elbow. He turned to her and raised a brow "What is she doing exactly?" The sniper asked "Cutting out it's eye" her head whipped around to glare at the smirking man who was pointedly not looking at her. "Well no shit Sherlock even I can see that, but why? What good will it's eye do?" This time Aizawa actually turned to face her "The eye acts as a sort of key, the teleport gates won't activate without them in the vicinity. Thus Elsie needs to get that eye so she can take control of this specific portal" the hero trailed off and looked up as a snap was heard. Then the woman in question landed beside the pair and finished the explanation "With this eye and my knowledge of Vex systems and processing, we have both the means to activate a portal to the other side and remove it from the Vex network!" she turned to the dead frame behind her and placed her palm on the machine's core, stasis crystals started to engulf the machine slowly "With a hidden gate under our control the Vex will no longer hold all the doors to the other side in their control, and we can finally get the drop on them. And maybe, just maybe. Shut them down for good" she punched the frozen machine as she finished and it shattered.
"With that being said, I should really be going after our friends" she turned to leave but Aizawa grabbed her forearm and spun her around. "When are you planning to get back here?" he demanded "When I get back, and besides..." she moved closer before leaning in and kissing Aizawa on the cheek "You still owe me a meal and a date, you aren't going to evade that debt forever. Shota" the man stared into her eyes for a moment longer before releasing her. "Yea I know, and you owe me that dance lesson. Make sure you get home safe, and Elsie..." he tossed her a small device. "Keep in touch" both of them turned away, Nagant was left confused but eventually followed Aizawa out of the room. Another bright flash of light lit up the doorway as the pair left the building.
European Dead Zone. Earth. Destiny universe. Just after teleport.
"Commander Zavala!" the purple ghost called excitedly "This is the Ghost Solasi! My guardian and his team have been transported into the designated zone in the EDZ. All of us are exhausted. Requesting Immediate extraction!" the reply came immediately "Solasi? I thought you were lost to the other world? How are you back? Never mind, help is on it's way. Hold tight, and don't die"
"Copy that Sir!" Solasi said before closing the active connection to her comm-link. "Alright, what the hell is going on?" Dabi said as he rubbed his arms, the burns he had caused himself starting to itch. "I'm with him on this, Sola. What is this place? Who was that Zavala guy? And what the hell is that?" Kanohi said, getting more and more frustrated with each question she asked and pointing as she finished. Morimitsu turned to look where she was pointing, the moment he locked eyes with the creature his instincts Screamed 'ENEMY' and he dropped behind a rock and drew his Eyasluna.
"Fallen! Get down!" his ghost screamed, the other two moved back and took cover behind the door they had just exited. As soon as they realised they were spotted the blue skinned creature screeched and started firing it's weapon at the enemy in front of them. Energy bolts cracked past and fizzled out against the surface of the rock Morimitsu was posted behind, the guardian waited for the smallest window in the gunfire before peeking and taking aim. The creature in his sights was reloading, but it saw him and stopped. The feline froze, he could sense the fear in it's body language. See it in the creatures eyes as it looked death in the face, the guardian's heart started racing as his breathing accelerated. He pulled the trigger and the shot flew...
The purple blast struck the alien in the side of the neck, the thing dropped and grasped at it's wound. A thin wisp of white and blue smoke was slowly escaping the fallen's wound as it struggled to hold it's wound closed. The blue blood was gushing from it's open wound, Mori slowly advanced on it with his gun aimed at it the whole time. "You should finish it off, even if they are enemies we don't need to make them suffer" Solasi said evenly, but Mori couldn't bring himself to do it. This thing had tried to kill him and he had fired back, but he couldn't finish it off, couldn't finish what he'd started. He placed his weapon to the forehead of the alien and it opened it's eyes to look at him, terror filled it's gaze as it stared down the barrel at the guardian. After what seemed like an eternity of just staring at each other the feline finally snapped out of his daze, and fired.
The fallen's head exploded and the guardian was splashed with it's blood, he looked at his hands and weapon, soaked in blue liquid. He just stared at his own hands, he didn't remember when he dropped his gun. Didn't hear Dabi and Kanohi screaming for him to fall back, didn't hear his ghost urging him to get up and move. To fight. There was only one thought in Morimitsu's mind, and it was playing on repeat.
'MURDERER'
The feline boy didn't register anything that was going on around him, not the other fallen like the one he had just killed running past him. He barely felt the heat from the flames even as they just barely missed him on their way to incinerate everything else they touched. He didn't notice the howls of pain from the aliens nor the roar of a larger fallen entering the battlefield, his ghost had been trying to get him to wake up the whole time and was starting to get frantic.
The first thing that brought him back to his senses was the warm feeling of his own blood welling up from where a sword had appeared in his lower abdomen. That finally got his attention and the guardian shook away the fog as a searing pain hit his senses, Mori grabbed the sword and was about to pull it loose when it was shoved in further. The guardian felt tears streaming down his face as he tried to scream. The fallen withdrew it's blade from the guardian and spun him around to face it, then whilst it held him with two hands and a sword in the third. It's last free hand reached up and removed the feline's helmet, as his helmet came off and his hood was pushed back the alien faltered for a second. Staring at the guardian's ears, it was all the time he needed. With the fallen's grip loosened ever so slightly the guardian coated his hand with light and extended his claws, then he made his hand flat and drove it forward with lightning speed. The feline's light enhanced claws made very short work of the armour and flesh of the alien, his arm bursting out of it's back.
The fallen looked stunned and tried to raise it's blade to take Morimitsu with it, but the feline drove his other hand into the creature's throat before removing both hands and stepping back. He overcharged his body with light making him briefly rise off the ground as he curled up into a loose ball, then he extended his arms and legs outwards and the energy dispersed. All the fallen near him just disintegrated in the burst of void light, the guardian landed and had to catch himself as he fell to a knee. "He's back! Took a while" he heard Dabi call as he and Kanohi ran towards him. Solasi appeared before him "I thought for a second that I'd lost you just there" she said worriedly as she healed her guardian's wounds for him. "Sorry about that" Mori signed to the three of them, his hands were still shaking and he couldn't stop thinking about how he just took multiple lives. But his team needed him to move forward and get them to safety. The guardian picked up his helmet and put it back on, then reached for his gun and froze. A shudder ran up his spine as he saw the blood coating the body of his favourite weapon, he took a breath and closed his eyes, then picked up and holstered his gun before he opened them again. "Time to move" Solasi said before disappearing once more.
'Are you actually okay Guardian?' the ghost questioned quietly 'Not important. I can think about my own problems once I get my team to safety' Morimitsu replied, he was pushing himself just to keep walking and if help didn't arrive soon then he knew he wouldn't be able to keep going. 'What the hell do you mean Not Important? The team needs you in top shape, your heart rate is nearing 120 bpm and your brain activity is pinging like crazy' the ghost practically yelled in his head 'And my team are in danger here. That takes priority now give me some intel, hostile counts, positions, anything!' Solasi huffed 'Fine, we are talking about this later though' she then spoke through the comm-link "Hostiles ahead, everyone be on guard. This is about to get dangerous" Solasi announced. All three nodded and readied themselves for combat once more. 'Please get here soon, someone. Anyone' the ghost thought as more Fallen came running down the cave towards them.
The moment the blue skinned aliens saw Mori's team they skidded to a halt and looked at them confused, it was the last mistake they ever made as a sparking ball of energy came flying into the middle of the group and ignited. The explosion sent bolts of electricity arcing outwards from where the grenade landed, the bolts frying all the fallen they passed through. A armoured figure dashed from the tunnel behind the fallen to a rocky outcrop that jutted out from the wall, they fired two well placed shots from their sidearm as they slid into cover and a Vandal fell silent. A few more shots pun down a trio of Dregs and another expertly thrown grenade took out four more while also stunning a Captain for long enough that the guardian was able to put three shots into it's head. Seven seconds was all the time it took for the guardian to clear out the group of twenty fallen.
The mysterious guardian dropped the magazine out of their weapon and slid a new one into place before pulling the slide back, then they looked at the newcomers and spoke. "Hello! You must be who I'm here to save!" they said cheerily, their deep voice was distorted a fair bit by their helmet. Solasi materialised and flew towards the guardian "Yes! That's us! I can't believe the vanguard sent the God-slayer to get us, surely we aren't that important right?" the guardian paused at the title. Then breathed out a heavy sigh "No, they sent out a message to all guardians in the EDZ, I just so happened to by riding right past the designated location when the call came in. So like any guardian Should... I cleared the area out and made my way down here" The other three had all made their way over to the 'God-slayer' by this point and were taking a closer look at their armour and weapons.
The guardian was just barely shorter than Dabi and wore a long flowing robe that almost reached their feet behind them, grey leather guards extended out to protect the shoulders and stomach. The robe itself was a striking red with a golden dragon printed on the left of the chest area, there was also small golden detailing tracing along the edges of the fabric. The guardian wore brown leather pants that were tucked into their golden boots, there was a red sash with white edging that hung down from their belt. Their helmet shared the same red as the robes they wore, but had silver detailing instead of gold like the rest of their armour. The gauntlets they wore were much the same with red and silver being the colour scheme, the armour on the gauntlets was very detailed and intricate with small patterns running over the forearms. Brown leather bridged the gap between their gauntlets and shoulders while a small metal bond was held to the guardian's left bicep with a white strap. The sidearm they held had a long barrel and a solid half slide at the back that extended over the hand, the black base was complimented by the blue details at the front and rear of the weapon. It was very clean and obviously well looked after, they also had a heavy shotgun on their back, a fully black frame with tiny amounts of red details on it. The weapon looked just like one of Mori's own hand cannons.
"You all look like shit, what the hell did you fight to get stuck in here?" the guardian asked as she looked the group up and down. Before any of them could answer a flash of light came from the room they had teleported into, all of them were instantly on guard as they waited for something to come through the door. When something did come through the God-slayer guardian holstered their sidearm and waved. "Heyo Elsie!" they called the exo immediately turned to face them and smiled warmly. "Good to see you Tempest! How have you been progressing with your arc light?" the woman responded as she walked over to the group. "Quite well actually, I still haven't got the hang of the Chaos Reach super. But everything else is second nature at this point!" the guardian clapped their hands together and Arc light danced up their arms in a small show of electricity. Elsie placed a hand on their shoulder and gave a quick squeeze, then she turned to Morimitsu. "And you must be Morimitsu, Shota has told me lots about you. He is very proud of you and the rate you are progressing at with your Void light" she said while looking him over "And you must be Dabi, judging by the burns. Which makes you Kanohi as the other two are still on the other side of the gate" she continued while pointing to Dabi then Kanohi.
"Who are you?" Dabi asked while the woman walked toward the exit, Tempest already falling in step beside her. "I am Elisabeth Bray. You could say I am Shota's closest ally and partner" the exo woman replied over her shoulder as she strode away "Now keep up, enemy territory is no place for an idle chat. Unless you want to end up dead"
With that the other three scrambled to catch up to the two who were now talking quietly as they drew their weapons. Tempest was idly checking her sidearm over while talking in a hushed tone, they seemed fully unaware that one of the people following could still hear what was being said. "I thought you said you would be gone for a few weeks, you came back after only two days on the other side. Have things gone south over there?" they anxiously asked "Yes, it has unfortunately. Though it would seem Newton was correct..." she glanced back at Morimitsu "Every action has an equal and opposite reaction, or in this case. Every darkness has an equal light to counter it" Tempest looked at the exo for a few seconds before also glancing back to the guardian following them.
"Are they really equal to a Disciple? They don't seem all that strong to me" the guardian stated as they looked forward again "You shall see, they may well become your strongest ally in the fight to come" a long silence followed that statement as the group walked towards the now visible cave entrance.
The light outside was dim and the air, while fresh, was cold and still. There was a fog beginning to form as the makeshift fire-team stepped into the evening air, the area was totally silent. Not a single creature made itself known as the group moved along the base of the small cliff they had emerged from. They didn't stick to the rock face for long though as Elsie guided them into a dense treeline and through the undergrowth, the whole time both Tempest and Elsie were on high alert with weapons raised and sweeping.
Nobody spoke until they found a small bunker hidden in the trees, Tempest raised her left hand and pointed her palm skyward. Morimitsu instantly recognising the signal for a ghost coming into the open, he turned around and scanned the treeline whilst his right hand hovered around his leg holster. There was nothing there and a light tap on his shoulder told him they were clear to go inside, he turned around and started to follow. But a tiny sound made him freeze and look back, his eyes squinting as he tried to find the source of the disturbance. "What's wrong?" Tempest whispered as they stepped up to stand side by side with the other guardian. Mori looked at her sideways "Thought I heard something" he signed to the warlock. "Not the type to talk? Hmm" the guardian hummed while they turned away. They hadn't even recognised he was trying to communicate with them. 'I'll tell them once we are safely inside' Solasi told her guardian as he turned to move indoors. He followed Tempest inside and the guardian locked the door as they stepped inside.
The room was very spartan, there was a small kitchen with only bare essentials and rations that wouldn't go off for ages and a small space for storage. Metal crates that had been long empty sat around the room and on the other side was a thin doorway that led to a sleeping room. There were three sets of bunk beds squeezed into the space with thick blankets laid on them for warmth.
Dabi took a seat on one of the metal crates and looked directly at the exo who was clearing her rifle. "So... what do we do now?" he asked with a yawn "You sleep, I'm going to get a quick bite to eat before I go take first watch" Tempest said as they laid their weapons on a crate and moved to the tiny kitchen. "Tempest is right, you fought a hard battle today. You'll need rest before we go anywhere. Sleep, I'll have food ready for when you wake" Elsie continued "Tomorrow we will have to try get away from fallen territory so we can call for our ships. Then we make for the tower, that's where you'll be safe until you can get back home"
The three of them were silent as the situation finally hit them, they were stuck in an alien world that they knew nothing of. Well, except for Morimitsu who was currently running through a stack of information his ghost had just dumped into his memory and told him to sort through. He now knew of everything that had happened up until his ghost was captured by the Vex, she hadn't given him her memories of that experience. The feline guardian removed his helmet and rubbed his temples as he started to get a headache from the amount of information pouring through his brain. After the pain subsided he looked up to see Tempest had frozen and was staring straight at him, it was hard to tell where they were looking because of the helmet that still covered their eyes. But it was clear to the guardian that they were trying to wrap their head around something they didn't expect.
After a awkward moment of silence they finally managed to move again "You... You have CAT EARS?!" they yelled in surprise, the distortion on their voice breaking up a bit uncovering the feminine voice beneath it. They then tore their helmet off and it was the feline's turn to freeze, the girl before him looked almost as young as he did. But what shocked him into staring was her skin, it was a beautiful blueish purple with white light swirling beneath the surface. Her hair was as black as Dabi's and she had glowing emerald eyes, before Morimitsu could recover she had made her way over to him and had reached out to grab his face. She grabbed his chin and turned his head from side to side, then she looked closely at his eyes and pulled his top lip up to inspect his catlike teeth. Kanohi was too stunned with the girls actions to react and Dabi was just cackling like a demented hyena. After a few more seconds Tempest let the guardian go and stepped back "Okay, I don't even know how to react now. What are you going to tell me next, that you have claws and a tail?" she exclaimed. Mori extended his claws and moved his tail from beneath his cloak so she could see them clearly. If her jaw wasn't on the floor already it sure as hell was now. The guardian stammered for something to say for a few more seconds before Elsie finally decided to speak up. "Just because he's a feline doesn't mean you can keep him as a pet" the exo teased. The girl's cheeks lit up red and she snatched her food from the bench before storming outside as fast as she could.
"Don't worry about her, she just hasn't seen a quirk yet. And she loves cats. You should see her art books at some point, she has many drawings of herself with cat ears like you have" Elsie said with a smirk on her face. "Let her cool off for a bit, she's probably very embarrassed right about now" Dabi had finally regained control of his laughter by the time the exo finished speaking "Well, at least we got some entertainment before we sleep aye? And a certain mute might've found a cute gal" he elbowed the feline who's face also started to go red at the jab. "Oh well don't let me interrupt and make things awkward, I'll just excuse myself and go sleep" the burned man walked into the barracks.
As Kanohi and Morimitsu got up to follow the girl reached out and placed a hand on his shoulder, he met her gaze and could see she was concerned. "Hey, about earlier. Are you... Okay? You seemed really shaken up" the guardian looked down and nodded slightly, it didn't seem to convince her "I just need some rest, I'll be fine" the feline signed. The girl sighed but relented, the two of them moving to the bunks for some sleep.
Morimitsu raised his Eyasluna and fired, the Fallen's head exploding and it's body dropping to the ground. He turned to look at his team, Kanohi and Dabi stared at him like he was some kind of monster. "What's wrong?" he asked "You killed him! You fucking killed him!" Kanohi screamed at him "Kid, what the hell have you done?" the feline looked at them in shock, then turned to look at the dead body of Midoriya. A hole cleanly burned through his head with void energy still lingering around the wound. Morimitsu's shock turned to horror and fear.
"MURDERER" a thousand voices said in unison.
Morimitsu sat up quickly enough that the bunk shook, he looked across the room to see both Kanohi and Dabi asleep in their own bunks. The other beds empty, he rolled out of bed and bolted for the door. He got through and ran for the exit of the bunker, he opened the door and ran into the treeline where he fell to his hands and knees and threw up. After he had emptied his stomach a hand landed on his shoulder and he jumped, spinning around with claws extended to attack. His hand was caught by the strong grip of Tempest. "Calm down! It's okay! You are safe" she said in a hushed tone "Come on, let's head back inside"
The feline felt his eyes tear up and his legs buckled under him, the other guardian caught him before he fell to the floor and helped him to stand again. "You are not in good shape, come on" she said as she led the crying feline inside and once again closed the door. Once inside the girl made him a hot cup of coffee and sat down beside him with one of her own. The two spent a few minutes in silence before the guardian spoke up. "Was it your first kill?" she queried, the feline nodded "Nightmare?" another nod answered her question. "I won't ask what you saw, I doubt you'd tell me anyway. But just know I'm here when you want to talk" the feline nodded slowly and took another sip of his drink. "It's normal you know, having nightmares after your first few missions. Some get it worse than others though" the guardian nodded slowly, then after a few minuted he tapped her leg and motioned for pen and paper. She nodded and grabbed a small book from in her robes and a pen, then opened the book to the last page and handed it to the feline.
~Does it ever get easier?~ he wrote before handing the book back. Tempest read his message "You mean killing?" the feline nodded. "For most, No" Tempest said before a haunted look came over her face "But if at any point you realise you no longer feel anything while killing... It's time to hang up your weapon"
Author's notes
Thanks for reading!
So say hi to Tempest everyone, for those of you who play Destiny... you may know them as 'The Guardian' aka the player. You. However here they are named. As for what they wear: They have a Substitutional Alloy Hood, Getaway Artist, Ego Talon IV robe and Meridian Constellation bond all coloured in the Pomegranate Gloss shader. With Righteous Boots coloured with the Ancient Wisdom shader. A damn fine look if I do say so myself. Their sidearm is a Vestian Dynasty and the shotgun on their back is a Baligant XU7743. Both with basic colour schemes.
