It all started sixteen years ago. The Blyth Family of District 6 worked hard in the foundry of the District, but all that changed when Louisa Blyth went into labour. After the boy was born, Kieffer Blyth, Louisa's husband, turned towards his wife and said, "Think we'll call him Otto".

As Otto sheltered in the air raid shelter that also doubled as the school, he heard explosions. His father had joined the rebels. Hours later, Otto came home to find his mum in tears. As Otto learned, his father had been killed by an explosion in District 2.

As the 10th Hunger Games approached, Otto had a feeling of dread. Since that fateful day fourteen years ago, his mother had been out working, and he is worried that his potential death in the Games will drive her mad. Otto's fears were realised when he joined Ginnee Zegler on the Stage.

Inside the Monkey Cage in the Capitol Zoo, Otto watched as the Capitol girl began taunting Brandy, the girl from District 10. Grabbing a knife, shock flowed through the Tribute when he saw Arachne Crane fall to the floor, a cut in her throat, and Otto froze when the Peacekeepers turned their guns to Brandy.

This wasn't how the Arena tour with our Mentors was supposed to be! Otto's thoughts were turned to Apollo Ring, his Mentor. In front was Ginnee and Diana Ring. Everything flew in a blur as shrapnel flew everywhere. Feeling pain through him, Otto could see Apollo lying dead. Losing consciousness, Otto feared that Ginnee and Diana are both dead as well as the shock caused him to pass away.
