A/N: So I know I started a PJO story not too long ago but it has been a nightmare trying to write a new chapter. Nothing seems to click right and I'm just getting frustrated beyond hell with it so now this is going to take its place. Yes, this is a Betrayed!Percy story following the defeat of Gaia.
There will be mentions of strong violence and mature themes so if you can't handle it, see yourself off to a new story but I would love it if you gave this a chance. Anything graphic is not going to be happening in the first few chapters but the outline I have for this so far has it starting around what I have planned around chapters five or six so fair warning.
I have not decided the pairing for this story and if any eagle eyed readers can decipher who is who in the prophecy at the end of the chapter, I will be posting a poll to see what the public thinks. It could a single person or it could a multi, just know the person will be female. No offense to those who like a gay Percy but that ain't my jam. Unless its blueberry jam. See what I did there, blueberry? Cause Percy is obsessed with all things blue? Ok, I'll stop the dad jokes.
Anyways, if you like it please leave a like and a follow. It motivates me to put out more content than I do knowing there are people looking forward to it. If you're feeling super nice, maybe leave a review. If it's to leave constructive criticism, please be polite about it. Hephaestus has been my on ass about some weak flames not being hot enough to power his forges.
"How does the accused plead?"
From his spot chained to the ground by celestial bronze shackles, Percy Jackson- twice savior of Olympus, Slayer of Kronos and Gaia, Bane of the Giants- stared blankly at the assembled council of Gods and Goddesses. He shouldn't be here. He shouldn't be facing judgement for crimes he did not commit but as it stood, as it always had stood as far as the Fates seemed to care, like always he was put in a life threatening position. "It doesn't matter how I plead or what the actual truth is" he said slowly with a tone devoid of emotion. "You lot have already made up your minds regarding what you think is the truth regardless of the fact that you all know I share the same flaw as my fathe-"
A whip-like tendril of water sent by Poseidon smashed into the side of the chained demi-gods face hard enough to leave a cut spitting blood out.
"You betrayed Olympus, betrayed me, by spying for Gaia. As far as I'm concerned I have no son" Poseidon spat with his eyes narrowed in fury.
Percy steadied himself and spat out a glob of blood from his mouth. "And that is just the point I was going to make, thank you King of the inbred horses. What did you hear as Gaia died? That I was the spy working with the Giants and her forces? I fought two wars for Olympus. I bled and nearly died on countless occasions for the sole reason to make sure that the Gods kept their rule because despite all the flaws and cruelty inherent to nearly every member of this council bar some, you all are the lesser evil to guide humanity and western civilization" he said with a hateful glare aimed at his father.
From off to the side several 'witnesses' sneered at the bound hero, some even being his friends who were shocked and enraged by Percy's betrayal. They had seen him working the enemy. They had seen how the monsters had left him alone unless he charged them in the final battle and hadn't put a true fight. Percy, the person many respected and led them to victory, was no better than the bastard Castellan during the rise of Kronos!
"I guess I was wrong" Percy spat, his gaze sweeping to those who testified against him in the farce of a trial. "I should have let you all die, save Hades Hestia Apollo and Artemis, if this is how you treat the people who saved your sorry ass from a world ending war! I mean really! You're taking the word of a corrupt and evil Primordial who tried to kill us and unknown demi-gods that barely entered Camp Half-Blood before the Second Giant War started in the fullness of bloodshed over me, the hero who should be only Lord Hades has any accurate count of and NO reason to go against any of you!"
Hestia, Artemis, Hades and Apollo were the only ones silent during the uproar that followed the bound hero's last statement. They did not agree with this farce of a 'trial and neither did they agree that there was credible evidence to prove Percy was a double agent for Gaia. Hearsay was not acceptable in mortal courts and less so in Godly 'trials' but they suspected that with the high strung tensions of the Second Giant War barely being over and not everyone being on the same page, it was emotions running the show. That was a bad thing for Percy considering the vanity and pettiness of most Council members, especially those who had a grudge against the Son of Poseidon for one reason or another like Ares or Aphrodite.
Like the four divine beings expected, there was no justice in the 'trial' at all. In the end, a vote was called and every single Olympian save for the silent four voted for Percy to be punished as a traitor against Olympus.
A mirthless chuckle escaped Percy's lips as he shook his head. "All of you except Hestia, Hades, Apollo and Artemis can rot in Tartarus as far as I'm concerned" he said with an empty twisted smirk. "When the next enemy from your past comes up to try killing all of your pathetic little spawn and you can't interfere with the pandemonium directly because of your precious Ancient Laws, I'm not going to help Olympus or its citizens. When your children are being murdered by the hundreds in the most brutal of ways, Greek or Roman, I'm going to sit back and watch the violence unfold with a bowl of popcorn in one hand and a two liter of blue coke in the other. When you come begging me to aid you when it is the bleakest possible moment…" his eyes lit up with cold fury "I'm going to laugh and kick your bloody, battered forms back into the waiting grips of your enemies. This I swear on the River Styx!"
Between rumbles of thunder sealing the oath, not to mention a horrified but understanding look from Hestia aimed at Percy, something happened that would seal the fate of Olympus for good.
Zeus, in his fury, snapped his fingers summoning the forms of Percy's mother and stepfather. Before either had a chance to say a thing, a nod was given to Ares.
Ares had a nasty, bloodthirsty grin as he stood from his throne and seemed to disappear in a burst of godly speed. It took only a moment before he seemingly reappeared, his sword dripping blood.
Percy's eyes widened in horror seeing Paul's head roll off his shoulders before a geyser of blood spouted out staining the white marble floor of the throne room. It was as his mouth opened and a wail began to escape his throat that he noticed his mothers abdominal area open and her internal organs spill out.
What made it worse for Percy, Hestia and Artemis was that amongst the ruined organs and chunks of bone as Sally Jackson's corpse fell to rest beside her husband were what looked like the chopped up pieces of a half formed creature.
Sally Jackson had been pregnant and Ares murdered an innocent unborn child with glee to get back at the demi-god he hated more than any other just because that unborn child was related to said demi-god.
As Zeus' Master Bolt struck the ground and opened a chasm in the floor declaring Percy's punishment to be eternity in Tartarus, three things happened.
First, Percy's features morphed with pure unbridled as he swore on his soul to murder every Olympian and God or Goddess- Hestia, Hades, Artemis and Apollo excluded once more- who dared to cross his path when he came back to Fade all the people responsible for the murder of his family and destruction of his life. Secondly, Poseidon disowned Percy with nothing but malice in his tone stripping the demi-god of all access to any sea-related powers. Finally, as a shockwave threw the bound boy into the gaping chasm the Fates appeared.
"Fool boy! Have any of you a clue what you have just done?!" howled the center as the other two tried to use their Godly powers to grab hold of Percy Jackson but it was for naught. The boy had gone too far and the chasm was closing.
"The boy betrayed us! His fate was-"
"You just brought about the Prophecy of the End!" snapped one of the other sisters. "He was cursed by Gaia before he ended her! You played into her revenge beyond the sleep and doomed us all!"
At that moment Apollo's eyes glazed over and his muscles went taut like a piano wire. Those who noticed went tense as they thought this could not be good.
"The Twice Olympic Savior cast aside and betrayed by Gods on High
Innocent blood to seal this choice.
Olympic fate is cast and doomed
For Son of Kronos' actions allowed.
The Hell Prince arrives on bloody wings
None to spare but those close to he.
Death to Greek and Roman camps
Eternal Hearts trapped in ice and unforgiving despair.
Hope lies with The Four
Broken Arrow, The Manipulated Spark, Lightest Shadow and Queen of Hearts.
Bar all else
The world is doomed."
Athena was pasty white as the weight of the prophecy seemed to choke the entire room. Betrayed by Gods on High.. but that would mean Percy was not a traitor and…
Off to the side where the 'witnesses' and Percy's friends were, pained screams sounded. Black mist was escaping the heads of The Seven who gave testimony to Percy being a traitor while the unknown demi-gods tried to make a break for it. Unfortunately for them, Artemis was not in a forgiving mood as silver arrows penetrated the demi-gods' knees and stomachs in non-lethal areas dropping them to the ground as they cried out in pain.
Fury shone in silver eyes as she discovered brands linking the heavily injured demi-gods to Gaia. "Congratulations, you bought the words of actual traitor boys and cast a true Hero into Tartarus. You allowed your son to murder the only family that didn't betray the man who will bring Olympus to its end.." Nothing but pure hatred was aimed at Zeus as shackles appeared and encased Ares' form before he was torn asunder spraying ichor all around the throne room.
"Your son shall never reform boy" the Sisters of Fate intoned as one. "Enjoy what little time you have left to exist, it is not nearly as much as you think." In a flash the Sisters were gone.
"Hestia, Hades, Apollo- we should leave. Perseus has sworn on the Styx to leave us be, let the murderers and their accomplices rot on their ticking time bomb" Artemis with a look cast to the other Gods and Goddess. "I intend to be far away from the massacre with my Hunters when Perseus returns to murder everyone on Olympus, with or without any of you." In a flash Artemis was gone.
Hestia looked between her siblings, nieces and nephews before shaking her head sadly. "You are just as bad as our father was, little brother" she said with as venomous a tone she could muster. "Maybe if you all are lucky enough, Perseus will chop you all up into little pieces with your own Master Weapons and toss the cubed remains into the deepest and darkest pit within Tartarus. It'll be a right family reunion for murdering scum!" She disappeared in a flash of fire after grabbing Apollo.
Hades looked piteously to the members of the Prophecy of Seven. He had suspicions of who some of The Four were- Lightest Shadow had to be his son Nico while Manipulated Spark had to be his brother's daughter Thalia Grace who viewed Percy as much of a brother as his son did- but couldn't say for sure who the Broken Arrow or Queen of Hearts was. He knew it wasn't Aphrodite, the bitch had been gleeful in her vote to punish Percy and more gleeful still as Ares murdered the boys parents and unborn sister. "I knew you would one day turn out to be as bad as our father Zeus but you Poseidon? I thought I knew you better than that" he said with a glare that would shame Chaos Himself before flashing out.
None of the Gods or Goddesses paid mind to the demi-gods who were beating the demi-gods branded by Gaia to death.
No one seemed to notice that on the wall behind Zeus' throne a massive countdown clock like the ones seen in doomsday movies appeared and began to count down, the time starting with a bold:
10 years, 364 days, 23 hours, 59 seconds.
