"and then I said-" Annabeth cut off, looking at me. Noticing how I was not paying attention at all to what she was saying, just simply chowing down my burger and fries at the table. She rolled her eyes, suddenly snapping her fingers in front of my face, making me jump slightly almost dropping my burger.

"h- huh? what were you saying?"

When I was really hungry I always zoned out, or maybe it was just my adhd. Sometimes Annabeth felt as if she was talking too a wall that could talk only sometimes.

Annabeth sighed.

"Youre such a seaweed brain."

She said under her breath as she reached for a fry on youre plate.

We had been training all day, plus capture the flag. Summer was almost over, which usually meant that me and annabeth woukd be back next summer, but since we were both almost 18 we didnt have to come back. We were gonna go to college (im i graduated) in new rome. I looked around at the dinning pavilion, at the place me and many others had called our second home since we first arrived, and it always would be.

Annabeth looked over at me before speaking and looking away.

"im gonna miss this place-"

I nod, smiling softly.

"Yeah me too, but you know one thing im not gonna miss?"

She looked over, raising an eyebrow.

"whats that?"

I smirk. Looking over at the Hermes table.

"The hermes cabins pranks-"

Annabeth smiles.

"Yeah, im not gonna miss that. Oh, dont forget that me, you, conner, clarisse and aome others are gonna go jump in the lake after cerfew for like a goodbye thing- its kinda stupid."

"alright-"

I nod.

"No promises if I almost drown Clarisse though-"

She scoffs.

"dont worry, I wont let you."

Chapter 2: Percy: Fishy business

After dinner, and a few end of summer speeches (and chiron crying a bit like a proud parent), Me, Annabeth and a few others went to the lake after curfew. Not caring if we got caught since we were not gonna be here in a few days.

When we got too the lake the water felt...off? Usually when I went too any body of water I could feel the directions of the currents strongly, but now the feeling was light. I brushed it off as being tired. I hadnt been sleeping much lately. Having a few nightmares of drowning, it was humilating but I was scared of drowning, which was ironic because I was a son of Poseidon and often had nightmares of drowning. But now I was having them more often, which was weird.

I was wearing nemo swim shorts, (a gag gift from leo), I was shirtless, feeling the cold air on my chest. My black messy hair falling infront of my face.

Annabeth looked drop dead gorgeous, wearing a blue bikini, her blonde hair up in a ponytail, her grey eyes sharp as she focused on the water.

After we counted down for Clarisse and chris to jump into the water it was me and Annabeths turn. We held hands, standing nesr the start of the dock, while conner and a few others counted down. When They got too zero me and Annabeth ran on the dock towards to the edge, laughing and smiling. when we got to the end we jumped into the water, holding hands.

We felt the cold water surround us, quickly pushing against the water and breakung the surface. smiling, our hair dripping wet. Annabeth wrapped her arms around my neck, too kiss me (also so she didnt sink). I kissed back for a few seconds, before pulling back and smiling.

"Youre pulling me down-"

I say teasingly.

She glared at me, smacking my shoulder playfully.

"shut up-"

We spend about an hour in the lake, just talking and messing around.

Chapter 3: Percy: See you later alligator

After swimming for about an hour we got out, walking back too our cabins. Annabeth had a towel wrapped aroud her too keep warm. She had told me earlier to bring a towel because I would be cold, but of course I was too stubborn to listen. And now I was cold but I would never admit that too her.

We stopped infront of the athena cabin, talking for a few minutes then hugging, for some reason every bone in my body told me too hug her for longer, but I pulled away and kissed her forehead.

She smiled at me.

"See you later alligator-"

She said teasingly.

"Goodnight nerd-"

I tease back. she hits me with her towel before I walk away.

I walked too my cabin, changing into some pjs and laying in my bed. looking at the unread book Annabeth had given me on my nightstand before turning on my sound machine that made ocean sounds to help me sleep, grabbing my nemo plushie (that annabeth had given me). And trying too sleep, surprisingly I didnt dream, or have any nightmares. Instead I woke up, feeling cold water filling my lungs as I tried to breath.

Chapter 4: Annabeth: Mirror man

After I watched percy walk off I went out the porch stairs of the Athena cabin, walking to my dresser near my bunk. Grabbing some pjs, trying to be quiet because half my cabin was alseep. I tiptoed too the bathroom, setting everything down and grabbing my hairbrush. Standing infront of the mirror and putting My head down to brush her hair. When she looked back up at the mirror she jumped in shock, seeing someone behind me. Poseidon. Trying to keep his face calm but Panic was written on his face, and almost some pain was in his eyes. It was almost like something, or someone, was trying to stop him from talking.

He looked me dead in the eyes.

"We dont have much-... you need- ..warn percy-"

His words were cutting out as if it was a radio.

By the time I looked away from the mirror and the direction he was in he was gone. my eyes were wide, my mind racing.

Chapter 5: Annabeth: Percys pulls a disappearing act, again.

I quickly ran out of the bathroom, not caring if I woke up my cabin mates now. I ran out the door, running too the poseidon cabin, throwung the door open. Praying to see percy peacfully asleep on his bed. Instead i saw his nemo plushie lift alone on his bed, his sound machine on. My chest began to heave, this couldn't happen again.

Tears filled my eyes.

"n- no- no- no- no- not again- not again-"

I say frantically. by now the whole camp was awake, seeing what the noise was about, including chiron. Some of my siblings tried to calm me down, while chiron was asking me questions. And mr. D was eating popcorn while watching what was happening. Despite my pleas to go looking for percy chiron disagreed, telling me too get some rest. I could barely sleep, tossing and turning, sleeping in percys bed, using his pillow that smelled like him, the ocean and his shampoo. I was crying. But suddenly I felt overwhelmingly tired, like something was making me tired. I tried to fight it but I fell asleep.

When I woke up I wasnt in percys bed. surprise!! I was in a dark cave with hundreds of thousands of spiders crawling everywhere. I wanted to scream. I. hated. spiders.

Chapter 6: Annabeth: My mom scolds me on my dating choices.

As I tried not to scream as the spiders crawled all over me I spotted a figure in the room, theyre arms crossed, a sort of bird on theyre shoulder, an owl. They also looked as uncomfortable as me with the spiders. I suddenly realized who it was, it was my mom. Athena

I tried not to cry from the feeling of the spiders crawling all over me. trying to focus on my mom and not the spiders.

"m- mom..?"

I say shakily.

She stepped into the faint light so i could see her better, she was wearing a white toga with hints of gold, an owl on her shoulder. She nods as she plucks spiders off of her, looking uncomfortable.

"Yes. it is me child."

She never said my real name, just "child," and the often "disappointment"

"Why am I here? Is percy okay?"

Athena scoffs at percys name, she didnt like percy, and hated that I was dating him.

"Yes.. that- sea scum is alright... for now.. and why you are here is because you would help him with his quest-"

"Quest?

I cut her off.

"What quest?"

Athena rolls her eyes at her cutting her off.

"The gods have given him a challenge. if he successfully completes it he lives, he lives-"

She states simply.

"If he dies, he dies The gods have had enough of him disrespecting them."

I was getting mad.

"So this is for entertainment? so you can watch him suffer? who decided this?"

I demand.

Athena doesn't loo at you as she responds, brushing spiders off her.

"We had a vote."

She says simply.

Annabeth scoffed.

"and let me guess, you voted for this to happen?"

Athenas eyes narrowed at you, not liking youre tone.

"Watch youre tone, thats not how I raised you to act, and- Yes. I did. There were a few who didnt though, Apollo, Artemis, Poseidon, and even Ares surprisingly. "

I scoff at her words.

"raise me? You didnt raise me, you left me with my dad who didnt want me. You know who raised me? Luke and thalia did."

Athena rolls her eyes.

"And guess how that ended up, luke is dead and thalia is a hunter. I miss when you used to love me, untill that sea scum came in and ruined everything-"

My glare sharpens when she talks about percy like that.

"He didnt ruin anything. He makes me happy."

Athena glares, both of our glares meeting.

"I dont find how he even does, he doesn't even study. surprised he even had a brain."

I glare harder.

"Not everything is about smarts and wisdom, its also about kindness and loyalty. And he has all of that."

Athena rolls her eyes.

"He wont meet youre needs, hes made you soft."

"No. He made me realize theres other things then success. Sooner or later you will approve of him-"

Athena scoffs.

"I will never approve of a son of poseidon."

My glare sharpens.

"Well im gonna love him forever and marry him-"

Athena cuts you off.

"Not of he doesn't survive-"

Chapter 7: Percy: Drowning

As I felt the cold water fill my lungs, my eyes shot open in alarm. quickly pushing against the water and breaking the surface. Gasping for air. I frantically look around. Where was I? I wasnt in the lake at camp half blood. I was in a lake in a forest, the trees looked different. It was snowing. And why couldn't I breath underwater? Why couldn't I feel the currents at all now? I quickly got out of the water, I was dripping wet. But I was wearing something different. I was wearing jeans and a camp half blood shirt, (the gods saved me the humiliation of looking homless) my sword, riptide was still in my pocket thankfully. I was freezing, feeling the snow land on my body. This wasnt new york, too cold. and it was summer. Maybe this was Minnesota? Canada? I would figure that out later. First I had to find somewhere to get warm. Quickly I checked my pockest for anything, finding some gold drachmas. Good, maybe I could maybe send a iris message to camp. I quickly tossed a drachma into the lake. Asking the god iris too show me camp half blood. usually it would work almost immediately but it didnt. Of course. Give me fake hope. Thanks you whatever god gave me them.

After a few minutes of gaining my bearings, (I also had a 50 dollars). I stared walking through the forest, quickly coming to a highway. I walked alomg the road, sword out. I coukd tell it was about morning. I looked at the road signs, trying to peice together where I was. I quickly started to notice ny mind feeling foggy, I had already lost my memory once, I didnt want to again. After about an hour of walking there was a diner on the side of the road, I quickly went in. Feeling the warmth of inside. The smell of deep fried food filling my senses. I sat down, when the waitress came over and i asked her where this was she looked at my strangley, I didnt blame her, but she responded.

"Sudbury, Ontario?" (I looked up a random town)

I nod. Canada. I order quickly ordering the least expensive food to save my money, which was just some french fries. The waitress wrote is down, when she looked back up from her note pad i notived she looked younger? I shrugged it off. when the waitress left, I looked around, Noticing almost all the customers and staff were either teens or kids. And everytime I looekd at them again they got younger. Something was happening. Of course I couldn't just eat in peace. But since I wasnt in any immediate danger i decided to stay. Since I needed to think and plan (I was hungry).

When my food came and I started eating I realized my hands looked smaller?
