The sun began to rise over the leaf village as i stood in front of that railing where it had all started where senshi had pushed me into chasing after orochimaru, as I stood looking over the leaf village the warm sunlight slowly illuminating the village below me. Kaen came walking up the stairs to speak to me, for a moment once he had reached the top of the stairs Kaen stood still and in silence. "You know i think sarutobi would be proud of you, it might have taken a lot but you've finally made it the path he wanted you to be on." Kaen said this as he walked over to stand at my side placing a hand on my shoulder. I couldn't remember much of my childhood or real parents. But for some reason the sarutobi family, mainly the man himself, had always acted as a surrogate father. Thinking back on the subject, I always found it rather odd how much the man seemed to care. However I never complained, individuals like sarutobi and asuma, as well as kaen and senshi, always made me feel like I had a family. It was only a few days after our trial, since then neither kaen or myself had seen senshi, who was held up in the uchiha compound with sasuke. Finally being a shinobi felt amazing, anything was better than the reserves. However eternal genin wasn't much of a step up, while i was happy this was most certainly a sudo punishment by tsunade for what had happened. After having my headband returned to me I fashioned it to my jacket, and was soon assigned to a genin squad who were currently down a member. "It's time, both squads are gathered and we need to get moving. There's no telling how many prisoners we're going to be dealing with out there." Kaen continued to speak while patting me on the back before the both of us started to make our way from the railing to the village gate. Not too long ago we received a report from a nearby prison, a large-scale riot and escape had happened, resulting in many prisoners escaping. Thankfully there were only two extremely dangerous prisoners, thus they were sending out several genin squads as well as a few jonin to chase down the more dangerous prisoners. As kaen and i walked to the village gates, while we did so the rapid sound of sandales slapping the pavement came up from behind us. "Katate kaen, hold up a second will ya!" Konohamaru shouted this to kaen and myself as he rushed over to us, casually jogging alongside us as we made our way to the village gate. "Hay konohamaru, been a while. If you wanna talk you gotta make it quick, we're about to set out to capture some escaped convicts." I said this to konohamaru with a smile as he jogged alongside us. "Naw, I just wanted to congratulate you on finally getting assigned an actual mission. No more painting fences and catching runaway animals for you, you've finally caught up to kids a fraction of your age. Now let's hope it doesn't take thirty more years for you to improve even more." Konohamaru said this with a laugh before breaking away from us and jogging off with a smile and a wave goodbye. Letting out a slightly amused sigh I rubbed the bridge of my nose as I heard kaen snickering. "Dam, you even have Konohamaru taking shots at you, that's gotta sting a little bit. But i wouldn't worry about it if i were you, unlike most eternal genin you actually are almost guaranteed to be moving up soon." Kaen said this, holding back his own laughter as he patted me on the back once more. From here it was only a matter of moments before we finally arrived at the village gates, where we were met by kakashi, sakura, naruto, ino, chogy, shikamaru, and asuma. "Hey look there they are, hay what's going on with sasuke? Grandma Tsunade won't tell us anything, you two got to know something." Naruto nearly shouted this at kaen and myself as he rushed over with concern and worry for sasuke in his eyes. "Naruto calm down and stopped with the questions. If they know any more than we do I highly doubt that they have the freedom to discuss it.'' Naruto was silenced by Kakashi almost as quickly as the boy himself could ask his question. After that, Kakashi was quick to explain the specifics of the situation before we set out. "Alright so we don't know how but there's been a prison break at a nearby facility, we are two of many squads being sent out to help but were both a bit short handed at the moment. Kaen you're going to be joining asuma and myself with naruto and sakura, while katate joins squad ten under shikamaru. The two biggest threats are fujin and rijin, two exceptionally strong individuals. They are supposed to be our targets so kaen, asuma, and myself will be looking for them. If you guys run into them be careful, try not to engage them and if you have to retreat to reinforcements as quickly as you can. Now then we need to get going, everyone else already got a start on us." Once prepared both squads made their way through the gates and into the forest. "Hay Shikamaru, be sure to keep an eye on karate. His sword is sharp, but his wits are not so much so." Asuma shouted this to Shikamaru as our squads split up. We split off to deal with a small group of convicts as Kaen and the others continued to move forward. Truth be told, I wasn't too happy taking orders from kids but I didn't have much of a choice. Thankfully I could take some comfort in the fact that it was shikamaru, he was a jonin after all despite his age. So maybe i shouldn't be so quick to be upset even if just a little. Upon landing on the ground the four of us wasted absolutely no time, immediately shadows from shikamaru raced across the ground ensnaring three prisoners. At the same time both chogy and ino dropped down into the crowd, striking two of the prisoners in the head with kicks that rendered them both unconscious. Rushing in myself I cleaned up the stragglers, dropping down into a slide as I ran. I took the first man's legs out from under him as I slid into his legs and flipped him over my back as I stood up. Coming up from the ground I struck the second man in the diaphragm to knock the wind out of him, this was immediately followed by a swift throat chop to prevent him from regaining his breath. These two blows caused him to hunch over just enough to allow me to grab his head, pulling the man's face down into my knee and letting him drop to the floor unconscious. Dropping down onto one hand to avoid the sucker punch aimed at the back of my head by the third man, my right foot shot up into the air kicking him in the bottom of the jaw. Staggering the man i fell forward into a one handed handstand and spun around, kicking the third man across the face violently enough to send him tumbling away several feet unconscious like his friend. Pushing off the ground I launched myself a few feet into the air, allowing me to flip and fall back down. Striking the first man in the back of his head with an axe kick that drove his head into the ground as he tried to roll over and scramble away. Looking around the three of us stood around eight now incapacitated escapees, a pleased grin on my face at the engagement that had only lasted a few seconds. "Gotta say i was expecting a bit more from escaped convicts, although i guess they got caught in the first place for a reason." I spoke with a short laugh as chogy and ino tied up the escaped prisoners. "I'm just glad we didn't run into those two kakashi was talking about, he made them sound pretty tough." Shikamaru responded to my comment as he walked up beside me. "Speak for yourself, i wouldn't mind running into fujin and rijin. Iv heard rumors that together their strength is comparable to lady tsunade, it would be an impressive sight." As i said this shikamaru shook his head letting out a disappointed sigh as he placed his hands on the back of his head. "Sounds to me like you're looking for a fight with the two of them, what's the saying? Pick your battles, don't let them pick you. Doesn't look like you've ever heard it." This resulted in little more than a laugh from me as Shikamaru shook his head. Suddenly, much like a shadow looming over me, I felt two powerful chakra signatures approaching us from the right. Spinning towards where I could feel the chakra coming from shikamaru, ino, and chogy spn with me. The three children entered their fighting formation as i drew kubikiribocho from my back. As we waited for whoever was approaching to burst through the foliage, I took a breath steadying myself before the two individuals came into view. Barreling through the bushes and tossing aside several Shinobi they had plowed through, was fujin and rijin. The two high class targets kakashi had informed us about. "Man these Shinobi sure are annoying." Rijin spoke after the two came to a stop in the clearing, their eyes falling upon us. "They sure are, and it looks like we have more of them to deal with. Too bad their just kids and some one armed guy." Fujin responded to his brother as the two focused on us, letting out a set of guttural laughter. "Obviously you guys haven't run into kaen and kakashi, otherwise you wouldn't be talking to us least of all standing in front of us. That's alright, I was hoping to get a chance to really let loose out here." I spoke to the pair of massive brothers, slightly irritated by how they spoke to and about the four of us. "Katata I don't think taking them head on is a-" shikamaru tried to warn me after gaging the two brothers, however i had already broken out into a charg straight at the pair. Watching as they did nothing in reaction to my charge I jumped up, performing a flip into a heel kick that would fall down to strike rijins left shoulder with no result. "Hay big brother look he kicked me." rijin spoke while looking back and fourth between my foot on his shoulder and his older brother. "Did it hurt?" fujin asked while looking at my foot not seaming too concerned. "No it just tickled a little." with that said the two men let out synchronized laughs before cocking their fists back and striking me full force in the face, this dual strike sent me crashing into a boulder as well as rendering me unconscious for some time. "Do you have any idea how ridiculous you sound right now?" I spoke to Karen as the camera panned down, the scene tinted gold ever so slightly as I relived a memory after being struck by the brothers. "It's not that far fetched, we already know that youe gekugan can freeze time in a contained area upon base activation. Would it really be that far of a streach to think you could fast forward and or rewind the time in that area? Look all I'm saying is to give it a try, every jutsu and technique was just an idea in someone's mind at some point right. You just gotta feel the flow of chakra through you, and find the right combination of hand signs to help manipulate it in the way that you want." With that said kaens attention was drawn to my missing right arm. "Although in your case that's going to be more difficult then for most, single handed signs require either a serious level of skill and or enough chakra to brute force it. No offense katata but when it comes to jutsus you're far from skillful." Karen said this resulting in a scowl from me as he simply shrugged in response with a lazy smile on his face. "So then you're saying I'm pretty much S.O.L when it comes to most jutsu aside from basic earth style?" I asked in a slightly irritated tone. "Not quite, the fact that you can even perform basic earth style through your feet is impressive. That means you've got enough chakra to brute force jutsus but it's extremely costly, in theory it's the same principle for your gekugan as it is for your feet, only maybe even more demanding. All I'm saying is give it some thought and effort, but don't over do it, running out of chakra can be deadly even if your not in combat." Slowly the scene faded away and I awoke. My senses had returned allowing me to take a look at just how bad our situation was. Ino and chogy were doing their best to hold fujin back, coji's massive hands restraining the man as into used her mind swap jutsu. However shikamaru was in a much worse situation, having been knocked in his back the bow was about to be flattened by rijin. Shooting up from the ground my eyes shifted without hesitation, activating my gekugan and catching them both in a light purple time bubble. However its time slowing effect were not enough to save shikamaru, without a moment to waste I had no choice but to try. With one hand I would perform half the hand signs of serpent. "FREEZE!" Was the only word I shouted as I felt the surge of chakra in my eyes, the bubble shifting to a much darker shade of purple as time inside froze entirely. Standing still for a moment I had surprised even myself, the theory of the jutsu had been thought out. If my standard bubbles slowed time amplifying their effects with increased levels of chakra should freeze time, and it did. Taking a few deep breaths to steady myself kaen was right when he said brute forcing a jutsu was costly. "Now, Rewind." As I spoke these words I weaved half the signs of of tiger, serpent, and dragon. Like rewinding an old VHS tape, I watched as fujin and shikamaru replayed their previous movements in reverse. Returning the two to their original positions as when combat had began. This left both parties extremely confused and disoriented as they glanced around trying to make sense of what just happened, and I aimed to capitalize on this. Dashing forward i lowered myself to the ground to snatch up kubkiribocho from the ground, closing the distance between fujin and myself in an instant. I twirled the massive blade around myself to obscure my next attack, charging head on as if for an all out assault. I planted my foot at the last moment and pivoted around fujin's right side, knowing the brute would fall for the faint and move to strike me as I charged in. This maneuver allowed me to slip under fujin's fist and around to his back, here I too the man's feet out from under him with a powerful sweep of the back side of kubkiribocho. As fujin struck the ground with a solid thud, I swung the massive blade up before bringing it down with all my strength. This slammed the back side of kubkiribocho down on fujin's nose, shattering the cartilage and more then likely fracturing his skull while rendering the massive man unconscious. Taking several sets of deep heavy breaths, I spun around to focus my gaze on the others, shikamaru had jumped in to help restrain rijin. Using his shadow paralysis jutsu both he and ino were able to hold rijin in place, while chogy beat the man over the head with his massive fists over and over. After not too long both fujin and rijin had been rendered unconscious and restrained, leaving both myself and squad eleven fatigued and beaten. "Oooowwww, my head. Come on choji you didn't have to swing so hard." *Ino said this to choji as she held her head in pain.* "Sorry ino, but that guy was about to break free any second, I had to do something didn't I?" Choji said this in response, both of the children winded like I was as shikamaru watched while taking a seat against a tree. After not too much longer, Karen, Asuna, Kakashi, Naruto, and sasuke dropped into the clearing. "Well not bad, not bad at all. I'm actually impressed that you guys managed to take down fujin and rijin." Asuma said this with a grin as he walked up to the four of us, offering me a hand to help me up off the ground where I had fallen to catch my breath. "We got lucky, they weren't taking us seriously and that gave us an advantage. I have a feeling if they really wanted we wouldn't have been able to stop them." Shikamaru spoke in response to Asuma, standing up from his seat against the tree. "Sounds like that's their own fault, a good example of why you should never underestimate your opponent. The stragglers are being rounded up as we speak but there's still a few on the run, patrol the forests and routes around konoha as you guys head back. If you spot any convict's you know what to do." Kakashi gave us our next set of orders while glancing at fujin and rijin on the ground. "Hay katate, let's meet up for a drink once this is over." Asuma shouted towards me as I began to move out with squad eleven, throwing up my left hand in a thumbs up as response.
