[City Ruins]

A soft guitar notes reverberated from inside a building. Dante's fingers danced across his musical weapon, making a soothing melody based off a tune from his childhood. He felt a jolt of electricity spark at his fingertips. A sign that it was working. Regardless he continued to play, not messing up the rhythm of his song in the slightest. The guitar produced a moan, the devil within reacting to his wonderful touch.

The devil arm began to electrify in a purple aura. Radiating light throughout the building, he finished his little tune with a high note. His reward being the transformation of his instrument, if the regular person saw what was happening they probably think they've gone insane.

Many tiny wings sprouted from the devil arm, losing it's form of a guitar. A swarm of bats flew from Dante's grasp and into the air. They flew in a formation similar to a tornado that extended from the ceiling to the floor. Behind the ripples was an outline of a woman, red pupils revealed themselves, their seductive gaze settled on the devil hunter. The vortex slowed down and the bats started to change into a dark material. It covered the woman's lower half and draped her forearms. Her upper side completely exposed showing off her undead green skin. Darkened outlines of veins were prominent on parts of her body. Aside from that she was pure eye candy; a beautiful face, breasts, and voluptuous waist that'll catch any weak-minded man's gaze. Her sex appeal was added by cherry red lips and mane.

The demonic witch Nevan, she catches the attention of men with her charm and looks before consuming their souls. Dante encountered her in the Temen-Ni-Gru and has agreed to help him out in his venture. While that sounded good and all she was still a demon but not just any demon. A demon who's had a thing for Sparda but never got the chance to mess around with him. His son on the other hand…

The seductress gave herself a nice good stretch. Making sure the devil hunter got an eyeful of her green melons until they were covered via hair.

"Miss me dear? I knew you couldn't resist." An alluring smile forming.

Dante smirked "Feeling a bit lonely and wanted some company." The demoness sauntered over, hips swaying with every step. Green fingers brushed against his jawline.

"Oh sugar no need to ask. I'll be more than happy to…"She whispered and lowered her head. Hot breath washed over his neck and she couldn't help but feel a pang of hunger. Her mouth opened wide, showing off her sharp fangs nearing his veins.

Nevan screamed, a sizzling pain penetrated her gut. A bullet made itself at home, prompting a release on her hold of Dante. He in turn kept his handgun at his side, watching her dig into the wound and plucking the bullet out. Her regeneration was slower than his but still patched the hole up. She held the bullet in her fingers, an expression of disgust overtaking her. The seductress flicked it to the side. Turning her attention back to him she suprisingly dropped her look of annoyance and gave him a teasing grin.

"Don't like redheads dear?"

"Redheads? You betcha. Redheads who wanna suck my soul out? I'll pass."

Breathing a sigh of dismay Nevan crossed her arms. "To what I owe the Son of Sparda?"

"Nevan before my Pops left you alone in the tower, what did you do before?"

The witch placed a hand on her hip, remembering her glory days. "I've spent my days in the human realm. Taking my time to know handsome men such as yourself on a more…intimate level."

Dante nodded.

"So you got a nose for humans." Nevan chuckled.

"Honey have you forgotten who you're talking to?"

He got to the point. "Mundus blasted me to the middle of bum fuck no where. Can't find a single person. Wanna test your luck?"

A curious tone escaped her. The moment he brought her out Nevan could tell something's off. In her peripheral she spotted the sunlight pouring in from the broken walls. They were no longer in the Temen-Ni-Gru and this new environment will be a breath of fresh air from her imprisonment. "I'll give it a try my dear, though I can't promise anything."

Dante motioned for the doorway leading outside. The seductress took it in stride and for the first time in millennias felt the warm, gleaming sunshine. A moose watched her form before scurrying away into the nature-ridden landscape. The sight brought a great change in scenery from her prison. She spent a moment just to drink it all in, even for a demoness it felt good. Bringing a fist close to her face the seductress blowed out a flurry of bats. They diverted into groups already knowing their task and flying off into different directions.

Nevan waited. In the meantime going back into her memories, the mention of Mundus brought her disgust. She always favored the Legendary Knight over the Dark Prince. Unlike the Emperor Sparda was a noble, honorable gentleman. Those traits are rare amongst demons, such traits Nevan adored. This admiration for him changed into infatuation upon actually meeting the Dark Knight. Their encounter was brief but Nevan knew that was a devil worth falling for. It's such a shame he decided to lock her in the Temen-Ni-Gru before she worked her charm. Well she did try but his sense of honor rendered her attempts useless. Oh that only made him a more delicious treat. Someone else had managed to claim her prize and while a part of her was jealous Sparda's offspring wasn't no slouch either.

The bats returned, pulling Nevan out of her thoughts. A moment passed by, the winged creatures merging back to it's hostess. Her lips straightened before heading back to the devil hunter.

"I'm afraid no humans are around."

The devil hunter sighed. "Figures." He kicked up a machine head that was lying on the floor, it landed on his finger in a spinning motion. "So everybody decided to move outta town? No biggie. Just gotta take a little detour to the next one over. Robotville isn't all that exciting."

Nevan eyed the spinning machine head. Partly curious but not enough for her full attention. "Sugar, my little ones didn't come up empty handed. They spotted some beings on the other side of the city. They appeared human but lacked vitality."

"Demons?"

The witch shook her head.

"I didn't pick up anything of note. Not only that but I can't detect anything familiar about the land. It's...different than what l've remembered." Now the devil hunter was real confused. A sentient being that wasn't human or demon?

He's gotta check that out.

"All right I'll take a look." He kicked the machine head to the side. "Maybe they'll tell me what's going on with these toys."

"I'll leave that to you dearest." Nevan declared before walking up on the devil hunter. "Before I go…" grabbing his chin Nevan pushed her lips onto Dante's. He tasted far more delicious than she imagined and didn't suppress a moan. Her hand rubbed over his abdominals, enjoying the young man's firm muscles. Nevan's other hand lowered itself down to his pants, unbuckling it without a problem. The button snapped open without a fuss. Her palm crawling onto-

The seductress felt the tip of Rebellion pressing at her neck. She pulled away and made a pouty face.

"Not even a taste?"

"Sorry but I'm off the menu."

Failing at her advances once again Nevan began to revert back to her devil arm form "Eventually Sparda's descendant will fall for me."

Dante watched as her form changed back into bats, the hellish nocturnals spun around and turned into the wicked guitar once again. He grabbed it and looked at it briefly.

"Don't bet on it." Storing it away in his pocket dimension he than undid Nevan's work on his pants. Zipping his pants walked out of the building, ignoring the bulge.

Dante trekked along the vast city, making jumps over rooftops to make the journey faster. A certain detail was picked up while on his search. The buildings had a real lack of variety despite their age. Living in Redgrave City had given him an eye for layouts. The types of buildings here lacked variety. If he were to guess it right the buildings were mainly office buildings. No restaurants, hotels, and schools. He could chalk it all up to erosion shifting the surface around but still it was something to keep in mind.

"Geez. This place is starting to feel less like home than hell itself." The devil hunter propelled himself over another rooftop. He landed on a smaller building where a particular looking machine got his attention.

Across from him was a medium biped, a machine type that Dante's encountered a while back. What separated it from the rest was the pristine karate gi it wore. A red belt was worn at the waist along with a headband at the head. It sat criss-cross style and frozen like a statue. Was it meditating?

The devil hunter couldn't help but give out a whistle "Fancy getup you got there. Y'know when I was a kid I wanted to be just like you." The machine reacted to his voice, getting up to his feet the peculiar machine did him a one-over.

"Greetings, my name is Father Servo."

The devil hunter shook his head in surprise "Alright. Something that isn't trying to kill me. You mind helping me out real quick?"

"If it's information you seek than you must best me in battle, young one."

"You sure? Things could get pretty wild with me."

"Fear not for I'm a warrior monk, seeking the enlightened path through perfection in battle. Countless foes have stood in my way but none could match my prowess. If you manage to defeat me than my purpose shall be fulfilled and I'll grant you my wisdom."

Dante rubbed his chin in thought "If your wisdom involves finding out where the hell I am than you got yourself a deal." The air around him suddenly dropped in temperature, a frosty set of triple nunchaku broke out from an icy fog. He gave it a good spin, warming up the soul of Temen-Ni-Gru's former guard dog. Grabbing 2 of the rods he rested the 3rd underneath his arm in a pose.

Servo examined the unique looking weapon this individual had. It was no ordinary weapon and that factor of the unknown made this challenge all the more merrier. "How can I reach perfection without struggle? I've faced unfair opposition before young one. You are welcome to use anything at your disposal."

Dante smirked "If you say so."

Servo performed a bow, a custom that's synonymous with martial arts. The devil hunter did the same as the edges of the roof were sealed off by electric barriers.

"Let us begin."

"I've…found my match." Father Servo didn't sound disappointed or ashamed, rather satisfied. Very interesting since the warrior monk was clearly on the verge of death. Ice had crystallized at the joints rendering movement impossible. A frosty mist bellowed from the head. His processors detected temperatures well below the freezing point, Father Servo's hardened body is the only reason it hadn't shut down immediately.

The sub-zero nunchunks hung at Dante's back. The devil hunter looked at the monk struggling to keep his power running. Around them the entire place had traces of ice littering the roof and the atmosphere was cold to the touch.

"I can now be laid to rest." Servo announced to which Dante didn't take that too kindly and kicked it.

"We had a deal!"

"Apologies. I'll grant you my wisdom as per your reward. What do you wish to learn young one?"

"For starters tell me what's the deal with this place?"

"If you're talking about the city I'll give you a brief explanation. Not far from here there's a factory, it's one of the largest production lines of machine lifeforms in the region."

"Machine lifeforms? Is that what you and your friends are? The toys who want to kill me?"

"Yes we are indeed. However I have adopted my own will and persue my own purpose."

"Alright. What about the ones that look like me huh? Any of my guys around?"

"Yes. Last time I checked your fellow androids set up a base at the south."

"That's not what I meant."

"Pardon?" Father Servo did his best to hold his composure. The cold from the ice was unlike anything he's experienced.

"Y'know? People? The walking meat bags that like to get on my ass about my payments. The assholes who banned me from getting my strawberry sundaes for a month." Dante spoke out of his personal vendetta. Damn that diner owner and his bullshit all-you-can-eat sundae Sunday special.

"I…don't understand."

The devil hunter gasped before blatantly pointing it out. "Where are the humans?"

A brief moment of silence passed. "Young one, are you a human?"

"It took you that long to realize huh?"

"My…apologies but there are no humans around here."

"Well yeah can't exactly have a party if there's no one around. Especially in a ghost town."

"Young one you're misunderstanding me."

"Oh. So what is it?"

"Humans aren't on e-bdjdnxksl-" Servo twitched uncontrollably making the devil hunter jump back. In the next moment the warrior monk exploded, leaving nothing but smoldering metal behind. Dante only had himself to blame for going overboard with his nunchaku skills.

Dante huffed and crossed his arms.

'Machines? Androids? What the hell's going on here?'

"The machine mistaken me as an android. Is that what Nevan's talking about?" His eyes drifted to the sky trying to make sense on the little info he got.

Something moved in the vast plain of blue.

"What the..?" He saw a couple of objects descending. From what he could make out they appeared to be aircrafts of some kind until they dissapeared into the other side of the city. A coincidence that he's heading in the same direction. The devil hunter walked up to the edge of the roof before letting gravity take him down.

[Bunker]

Space, a vast continuum spanning across all areas of the universe. Since the very beginning this void has remained as the area of obscurity. Why you may ask? Simply put even with the best technology out there traveling could scale from centuries to lightyears. The chances of gaining huge distance remains unlikely for the vast vaccuum goes beyond that scope of time, so much effort for little reward. Keeping this in mind space remains in the category of the unknown and danger. Stars could self-combust creating a supernova that could mean the end to all nearby life. Random asteroids may take a one way ticket into an unlucky planet, shortening the life cycle or worse destroying it entirely. Black holes are the most dangerous anomalies due to a gravitational pull so powerful it can consume light itself.

Despite the uncontrollable hazards that happens across space it isn't all bad. After destruction comes beauty, when a planet or star meet their end another begins. A new celestial body will form and shall evolve into something far greater than it's predecessors. In the oncoming years the planet will grow into a revolutionary state no other part the universe has ever seen before. Only for it to meet it's demise by the unknown dangers explained prior. Cruel perhaps but it's the natural process of evolution…

…what if said evolution was halted? What happens next?

In the Milky Way Galaxy lies a collection of planets circling around a singular star. Later titled as the Solar System each planet stood out from the other in their own unique ways. Nearly all the planets are completely uninhabitable due to their severe weather, handful of elements, and distance from the star. The planet Earth however was able to form at the ideal distance from the giant fire ball of light. What makes this planet all the more special was that it had life, intelligent life.

Evolving from primates, more specifically apes came a new species of animals who took over the planet in a few thousand years. The species now classified as Humans rose to be the dominant class of Earth. They've created hierarchies, cultures, economic systems, and so much more. Most importantly their intelligence allowed them to gain the upper hand in the animal kingdom. They used this to their advantage making new forms of transportation, creating new methods of gathering resources, manufacturing conventional contraptions that would aid on improving their countries in the following years. Humans continued to break through their boundaries, picking up where the previous generation left off and improved upon it pushing the world to a new level of heights. The future seemed bright, nothing was gonna stop them from evolving.

Until it happened.

In the year 5012 was when humanity came to a halt. Space, known for holding many secrets revealed to the world one of it's darkest ones. The planet was attacked not from an asteroid or another natural phenomena but by another species, the Aliens. Humanity found themselves at a disadvantage for their greatest known technology paled in comparison to the extraterrestrial's very own. Earth's supremacy was quickly lost control when the invaders released their ultimate weapon machine lifeforms. Sighted in small numbers at first it quickly escalated to the point they were all over the world. In a short matter of time machine lifeforms took control of the planet. Millions of humans met their demise underneath their wake and thus left with no other option the last remaining population seeked sanctuary on the moon.

192 years later and humanity manufactured their very own weapons built in their image, androids. The machine lifeforms while dangerous held no free will of their own, just following their master's simple order to destroy the enemy. On the other hand the androids exhibited an eternal hatred for the machines. They were prideful soldiers who looked up to their creators in a prestigious sense. They wished for nothing but to reclaim Earth and live alongside the humans until the end of days. They were given the honor to be named the Army of Humanity. Once deployed, the machine's reign on the planet came to a standstill, marking this change of events as the start of the Machine Wars.

Fast forward to the year of 11,940 and the Earth is still undergoing battle. The machine's have yet to fully take over the planet with the Androids desperately doing everything they could to stop them. Humanity's defenders aren't as driven compared to when they initially started. Outposts were declining. Internal conflicts threatened to destroy bonds. Some even made the decision to throw themselves into the enemy willingly. These reports dogpiled over the years, even the androids in the highest command couldn't ignore it. They've sent a message to the humans on the moon, asking the beings who gifted them life for help.

Humanity responded.

A brand new line of android forces deployed. They were more combat efficient and harbored the latest advancement of technology. This branch while not as big as the AoH contained powerful artillery to wipe out machines in mass. Not only that but they helped relay audio messages from the now established Council of Humanity, motivating the androids even further. This new faction would serve alongside the AoH in the 14th Machine War. They went by the name of YoRHa. This never-seen-before model of androids have made considerable progress given their smaller nunbers but in a span of a few years they've built a reputation for themselves. YoRHa is here and determined to purge the machine scum that dared set foot on the land of their creators.

This time it will be different because YoRHa is here.

2B consumed in her thoughts endlessly stared out the window. So many stars enveloped her view but she paid no mind. She was too busy thinking of other things to even admire the planet. The monotonous white hallways of the Bunker made it easy to daydream. Sound of footsteps shook her from her thoughts, getting off her seat she walked towards the source. She saw him, the boy who helped her complete their mission.

"So...mission complete and all that huh? The Goliaths were wiped out and we secured a route into enemy territory. Now we can-"

"9S?" He gave her a curious look.

"Yeah?"

"Thank you. For uploading my data to the Bunker." The scanner boy took a moment to refer to her words. He couldn't recall.

"Um...I did that? Sorry, I don't remember."

"What?"

"There wasn't a whole lot of bandwidth down there, you know? I probably only had enough time to back up your memories. Mine are only intact up to the point where we rendezvoused." The scanner reasoned whilst scratching the back of his head.

"I see."

"Something on your mind?" He couldn't help but ask.

"It's nothing."

9S nodded as he shifted his attention towards the windows. The shape of Earth filling his concealed view. He looked back at 2B with a friendly expression before beckoning her to follow.

"C'mon Commander wants to see you. Better to not keep her waiting." She nodded. They reached an elevator that took them to a different level of the Bunker. Once the doors opened they were greeted with a large screen broadcasted on the wall. It contained data of various field missions happening on Earth. On the side panels contained profiles of current YoRHa units at the surface.

The duo walked to a small platform that'll take them to the bottom floor. Going down they saw endless rows of holographic monitors occupied by YoRHa units concealed from the neck down in dark garments. Parts of their uniform; gloves, heels, blouses and short skirts were emphasized by golden accents along with blacker leather. Their faces half concealed in veils, the only revealing part being their blue eyes and blonde hair. These women typed away at their stations, fullfilling their job of intel gathering and directing ground units. None of them have ever left the Bunker for they served as Operators.

The elevator opened and the pair walked forward. This was by far the most occupied part of the room, on each of their sides a platoon's worth of YoRHa soldiers talking amongst themselves.

"Wow. The room is full, I wonder what the Commander has planned." 2B overheard 9S. She remained silent as they neared the front. Out of everyone within YoRHa the one who stood out the most was their leader. A large console sat close to the screen. Senior operators worked away tirelessly as YoRHa's Commander stood prominently at the center.

Commander donned attire aligning with her superiority. A white dress adorned with golden accessories throughout made her stand out in the sea of black clothing. Similar to the battler her long draping skirt parted at the waist but to a greater extent. The entirety of her creamy thigh stuck out. Stockings and heels covered the rest of her legs. Headwear sat on her head. Radiant blonde strands brushing down around the body. At the shoulders was YoRHa's insignia. There was an alluring, angelic beauty to Commander but if one looked at those hardened lime eyes they would see nothing but a fearless leader.

"2B here as requested, Commander." The white-cladded beauty looked over her shoulder. She ended her talk with an operator before fully turning to the duo.

"2B, maintenance finished?"

"Yes. Commander."

"You've detonated your black box in order to defeat the enemy. Bold but risky. Try not to be so reckless next time."

"Understood." 2B nodded.

"I know you are fresh out of maintenance but I have another mission for you. I need you to head back to the surface, rendevouz with the Resistance and do some recon. 9S will accompany you." The scanner brightened at the mention of him. Scanners normally do solo recon so having a partner wouldn't be so bad.

"The Resistance?"

Commander's stern gaze shifted into a more curious one.

"Are you having trouble remembering?"

The scanner piped in "My fault Commander. During maintenance I had to pick up the pace and might've left some basic info out."

"Don't get sloppy 9S. Mistakes like those could be detrimental for future operations."

"Understood."

Commander whipped her crop against her hand, a loud snap reverberated. Nearby androids looked their way. Eyes fell onto the white-clad blonde, following her eyes 9S could feel all the attention settle onto him. The scanner got uncomfortable from so many people watching him.

"Understood?"

He replied. "Yes."

"Good." Commander rested the crop. The crowd shifted away to the benefit of 9S. Although some giggled about it. Only to receive their leader's scorning gaze their way. Quickly shutting them up and going back to their previous task.

"The Resistance is the main deployment force for the Army of Humanity. YoRHa is more so the special forces but we only take direct orders from the Council." Commander continued where they left off. Catching 2B up on current events. She walked to where 2B and 9S had came.

"Back to what I was saying the reason as to why I'm having you go is one of the settlements in the eastern sectors have gone offline. The region is home to a high machine population in the regions so if we lose the Resistance, it will hurt us greatly." They watched as her figure walked onto the small platform.

"Understood?"

"Yes Ma'am!"

"An announcement will be made shortly. Keep busy until than. Afterwards report to the hangar." 2B and 9S nodded. Commander activated the elevating platform and disappeared to the top floor.

"Geez. I almost thought she was gonna terminate me." 9S muttered. Commander and her crop gave him a cold shiver.

"Listen to what Commander says, mistakes like those can be crucial."

"Yeah, yeah." The scanner understood good and well of Commander's iron fist. She may look pretty but beneath that was a leader who takes zero qualms for disobedience. To shrug off the lingering fright he switched topics. "In the meantime I'll go talk to my operator. See ya in a bit."

"Very well."

2B watched his retreating form before going to meet up with her own. The battler made her way through the numerous rows of monitors until she stopped behind a unit with hair done in delicate pigtails.

"Operator 6O." The masked blonde turned at the person who called her name. A moment of silence lasted before 6O erupted from her chair and caught the battler in a tight hug.

"2B! I'M SO GLAD YOU MADE IT BACK!" 2B felt wetness on her shoulder. Was she crying? The battler unsure of what to do awkwardly patted 6O's back.

"I'm glad to see you again 6O."

"You didn't save your data and the machines jammed our signal. I thought you were gone." 6O looked at her with teary eyes. "Promise me you won't do t-that again."

2B noticed they were causing a stir, nearby operators are watching them.

"Okay. Now please fix yourself up." She produced a kerchief and offered it to the weeping blonde.

"You are so sweet. Thank you." As 6O tidied up the battler informed her of her next plans.

"I'm going back to the surface as per orders."

Now with a face completely cleaned of tears 6O would do a complete 180 in mood. "Oh I want to go so badly but Commander denies my request everytime."

"That's because operators aren't allowed to leave the Bunker. Unless you convert to a combat model instead."

6O pouted and crossed arms like an upset child. "I don't wanna fight. I wanna explore the Earth, oh this so unfair." She took a look at 2B and an idea lit up. "Hmmmm since I can't leave the Bunker…2B can you please take pictures of some flowers for me?"

"The YoRHa archives should provide you with more than enough images."

"Girl this is different. I want my own pictures for my own sake."

"I don't understand."

6O clasped her hands together.

"You don't have to. All you gotta do is find a white flower called the lunar tear. It isn't hard at all. Please 2B pretty please…" A glimmer shined over 6O's growing orbs. Very reminiscent of puppy eyes. 2B fidgeted at the sight, unable to withhold her ground.

"I'll see what I can do."

6O once again trapped her in a hug.

"Thank you! No really. Thank you."

She released the battler before going onto another topic. "So is it just you? Or are you going with a group?"

"Negative. 9S will be joining me." 6O didn't say anything off the bat. Instead she looked across to the lower levels of the operating room, where she saw said boy conversing with his own operator.

"9S?"

"Yes."

9S greeted his operator with a friendly smile. "Heya, 21O."

The woman stopped her typing before turning her seat. Her hairstyle short and brushed while keeping a bang against her temples. "9S, why are you using informal greetings?"

"I mean you are my operator. So doesn't that mean we can be casual?"

"I would prefer if you remain formal with me."

"Oh. Alright, if that's what you want."

"What brings you here 9S?"

"I just wanted to let you know that Commander is having me going back to the surface. I don't know how long so it'll be a while until I see you again."

"You will see me for our regularly scheduled contacts."

"Well yeah but I mean like in person."

"Your point?"

9S was taken aback. She was very non-sociable. "I wanna get to know you that's all. I've just met you on my last mission so I don't really know much about my operator." 21O momentarily stayed silent.

"Your acts of socialisim aren't necessary."

9S let his arms drop. "Ok than."

"If that is all than I wish you good luck and to stay safe for when you depart." She declared as she went back to her monitor. Being unsatisfied by her reclused nature 9S thought of a way to get her to socialize with him.

"What did you think of my last mission?"

Even if it was mission-related it was better than silence. 21O's fingers paused above the keyboard. "While I deemed it reckless to activate the black boxes, it was necessary for the success of the operation. Don't think you can do it at your box's content, a considerable amount of resources goes into a single black box."

"Alright. Alright. Gotcha."

"1 affirmation will suffice."

"Fine."

"Speaking of the mission why didn't you save your data?"

"I only had enough time to save 2B's. I was recently activated so I'd figured her's was more important than mine."

The operator perked up at the mention of her. "2B?" She looked over to the upper levels and saw the battler imprisoned into a hug from 6O.

"Is she accompanying you for the next assignment?"

"Yeah."

"I see." 9S titled his head.

"Is something wrong?"

21O returned her gaze. "Scanner models are normally assigned operations alone. Having someone watching your back should keep you from doing anything idiotic."

9S was bothered by the comment.

"FYI we're not known for our modesty but us 9S models can get the job done."

"I'll keep that in mind."

A powerful snap from Commander's crop garnered everyone's attention. All the operators stood from their seats, battlers got into formation, defenders kept their guards up, healers and scanners dropped what they were doing and stood at attention.

The white-clad blonde stood at the highest level, above every single YoRHa unit.

"Attention YoRHa, the Council of Humanity wishes to give us a special message. Please be respectful and keep all noise at a minimum."

"YES! MA'AM!" The room responded. Everyone turned to the main screen where an incoming call popped up. Commander answered and properly addressed the higher ups.

"Sir! Commander White of the YoRHa faction at your service."

"Greetings." The call only displayed the audio, leaving the androids to use their imaginations on what this human looked like.

"This is the Council of Humanity and we want to express our sincerest gratitude for every single YoRHa unit for doing their best in this war. In the year 5012 A.D…"

The representative than went on retelling the story of humanity and the first ever alien invasion. From the impact it had on humanity to the events leading up to present day. All within the room didn't take one eye off the screen nor did their minds doze off.

"…Despite your infancy the Army of Humanity acknowledged your contributions to the war effort. They offer their sincerest gratitudes as well as ours.

"Thank you sir! YoRHa acknowledges your kind words and wish for nothing more but for the destruction of all machine lifeforms!" Her left arm raised, parallel to her chest. Everyone else copied her.

"Glory To Mankind!" Commander declared. The rest of the room chanted YoRHa's mantra.

"Glory To Mankind!" 21O said in a stern voice.

"Glory To Mankind!" 6O chanted with joy.

"Glory To Mankind!" 9S proudly exclaimed.

"Glory To Mankind!" 2B spoke in her same monotone voice, keeping a hidden fist.

The Council of Humanity let the brief pause of quiet take over "Glory…To Mankind!"

[Desert]

Vergil wiped away the beads of sweat as he carried on his journey. The heat of the sun while it won't kill him affected him to some degree. Curse his human side for that. Storing away his coat and ascot via his pocket dimension left him in his vest. Muscular biceps and triceps exposed to the sun. He's been trekking for a good amount of time and its bewildering to have somehow lose track of the machine's trail. Surely that machine was slow like the others, perhaps the machine dug undergound for a better escape route. The units back in the arena appeared out of the sand, maybe it's a technique they've developed for quick getaways. Digging the entire desert out wasn't viable and he figured the machine wouldn't remain stationary. Therefore Vergil kept trekking the visible trails.

Poking out from the sandy terrain were ruined structures of a civilization long since perished. They weren't enough for Vergil to warrant a break from the sun though. Times of his younger years flashed forward, the time prior to his reunion with Dante. He would travel across various lands in order to hone his skill with the Yamato. He often avoided human civilization. Unlike those weaklings he wasn't afraid to sleep outside. However there were a few points of interest in human society. Specifically, towns experienced with the creatures of hell. Vergil would spend his time nose buried deep in their libraries to sharpen his own background knowledge. When he's not doing that the darkslayer would actively hunt for any lurking hellspawn. Unlike the fragile anatomy of the human body demons far outweigh the durablity scale. Perfect targets for katana practice.

Vergil coughed, he was heavily parched. He made it over another dune and saw something over the horizon. Palm trees surrounding a small little pond.

'A little break couldn't hurt.' Pushing his legs into a sprint the Son of Sparda made his way to the oasis. A dust trail was left in his wake as he skidded to a stop in the water.

Taking a knee he replenished himself as well as washing off accumulated sweat.

"C'mon little buddy don't die on me." A YoRHa unit whispered.

6H sat back against the supply box as she tried to fix her broken pod. The support unit had gotten sand inside their tiny body and managed to cripple it to reboot. She was currently assigned to watch over these supplies from any machines looking to take any piece of scrap. It was quite lonely to be in the middle of nowhere. Her only companion being her pod unit. A small tactical support unit that's assigned to all combat units. They serve to assist androids in battle, scan objects for information, and communication from here to the Bunker. Simply put if her pod went offline than she was stranded in no man's land until Command notices.

Problem was 6H is currently in that predicament. To make matters worse this place had bad reception. Prior to her departure she asked why they would pick such an isolated place, the answer being the machines had a bad connection here too so the chances of them invading was close to zero. As long as her pod was functional there shouldn't be any issues.

Well…

6H started to grow nervous, she didn't have the tools to take the pod apart safely without breaking it. If she were too pry it open it would most likely activate the failsafe. Once activated the pod will be rendered obsolete. The best she could was shake the sand out.

'So much for being a healer.' She thought.

"Please wake up…

A few grains of sand fell out followed by a small hum.

"Initiating reboot protocol." A robotic voice rang out.

"Yes."

6H smiled in relief. Looks like her nightmare was coming to an end.

"Unable to reboot, please seek for the near…est…main…te-"

The humming defeaned. 6H shook it once to no response before coming to the dreadful conclusion. She dropped it with the horrifying thought of being alone out here in the sandy wasteland.

"Ok 6H don't freak out. Pod told me this shipment will be retrieved in the next 3 days. I just gotta wait until than…" she spoke in hopes to calm herself.

6H yelped at the blast of wind breaking over the corners of the shipment. She peaked over the box and got a good look of a man in the oasis. His appearance gave her a level of confusion. Starting with the hair, it was a known fact every combat unit manufactured from the Bunker originally starts with marble white hair. This is meant to extinguish themselves from the AoH, though that regulation was quickly removed as having the option for multiple colors proved to increase morale. A decision 6H was thankful for, she wouldn't feel the same if her hair wasn't brown. However, white hair is still synonymous with YoRHa. With the exception of the AoH' upper heads any other android type are advised to not be seen with white. It goes the same for their signature black clothing.

6H didn't like fighting so she wanted to give this guy the benefit of the doubt and say he's a scanner model. However that was a foolish thought. Generally androids came in more female models than males. YoRHa was no different, their male androids only came in scanners and they're modeled after human boys. Sidenote 6H didn't have any issues regarding it, in fact she found them quite cute. Defenders, Battlers, Operators, and some Healers on the other hand shared the appearance of human women. She watched him straighten up, her benefit of a doubt deteriorated for she can easily tell that he towered over not only her but the Commander as well.

His state of attire also didn't help. A black vest, dark pants, and brown boots weren't a part of YoRHa's dress code. While they could get away with hair color the attire couldn't be swayed. The only person within YoRHa who didn't follow this was the Commander herself. Therefore he wasn't a YoRHa android and he was in a restricted area for YoRHa only personnel. With a bit of self motivation 6H got up to confront him. The man was distracted due to his gaze into the water so 6H made her way forward, careful not to startle him. Nothing but crunching of sand under heels permeated her hearing.

The man disappeared from her view before she felt a blade at her throat.

"You have 5 seconds to address yourself before I color this pond red."

"Foolish girl." The Force Edge moved to carve her a second mouth.

Only for the devil arm to meet nothing. Vergil saw the multiple figures of said girl surrounding him. Bewildered and intrigued to an extent the darkslayer failed to notice a heel making contact at the back of his skull.

"Kssh." Vergil teleported away.

In the girl's grasp out came a katana forming in a glowing light.

6H's eyes narrowed behind her visor. "I'm not answering anything from you! Not only did you just make an enemy out of me but YoRHa too! You hear!" In a complete 180 the brunette switched from timid to defensive.

'YoRHa?' It didn't sound like anything he's familiar with but Vergil placed that thought on hold. The brunette made the first move.

The sand around 6H exploded as she made a grand leap at the darkslayer. Wind brushed wildly against her hair. The first swing was blocked by his blade. In response she spun down in hopes of cutting his shins. His sword met hers again, the healer decided to skip offside for his blindside. Another clang of their blades met and 6H exerted her strength in hopes of using brute force. YoRHa had the most cutting edge technology on the planet, she doubted his vintage blade could put up with her amazing katana.

In a surprising course of action 6H was thrown off into a tumble. Recollecting herself quickly she saw that her opponent still hasn't moved from his spot.

"Is that it?" He spoke in a condescending tone.

She cleared the distance between them and jumped in the air. 6H threw her blade, he deflected it but she was expecting that and proceeded to position her heel right to his face. The man disappeared as the YoRHa unit landed, weapon materialized back in her grip. A rushing form of his broadsword came for 6H's head. Quickly she blocked the overhead attack, he brought the sword back in so he could return with a diagonal slice. She held her guard but the force behind his attacks couldn't be ignored. 6H had a moment to regain her footing until he moved his weapon away, guiding it around his own body, and coming back from the other hand. A move that almost caught her.

The healer was taken aback from his speed. Her hesitation capitalized on by the darkslayer, performing another lunge and stabbed her square in the shoulder. The brunette crashed into the sand, creating a cloud of dust. Once it settled the healer was seen gripping her shoulder in pain, artificial blood seeped her dress.

6H saw his approaching form. Sucking in a breath the brunette rose. She waited, he thrusted once again. The darkslayer was surrounded by various forms of 6H. Vergil waited and a splash of sand alerted him. Upon twisting for a counter Vergil found no trace of her. 6H reappeared offside and proceeded to bring down her katana. It was the first swing she was able to fully complete. Vergil recieved a prominent slice on his vest. He took a couple steps back in the shifting terrain.

A smile adorned 6H's lips.

"That's what you get for ruining my dress!" The darkslayer looked at her with an emotionless face. A scoff escaped his lips, did she truly think that clothing mattered in the heat of battle?

Vergil appeared right in front of the naive girl, the healer yelping at his sudden appearance. She swung her katana out of instinct to which he blocked easily. 6H dashed to his side. The katana came flying, he caught it without hesitation only to duck at the incoming kick 6H performed. She gasped, he grabbed her shin before finding herself taking flight. The katana was thrown back at her. 6H miraculously twisted out of harm's way. Landing in a crouched position she took a sigh of relief having narrowly escaped her own sword. Only to watch in horror at the sight of brown hair falling to the sand.

"YOU JERK! HOW DARE YOU!" 6H dashed at the man, her swings once more blocked by his superior defense. She ellicited a cry before driving her katana into his guard to which he deflected and retaliated. Vergil was surrounded by her translucent images yet again. 6H came for a counter but Vergil turned to her direction. In a daring stunt of confidence he uppercutted her katana. Successfully nulling the counterattack program which should be practically impossible for any android to pull off.

Vergil swung his weapon, now faster than before. 6H gulped, she a bad feeling. Guarding herself the girl strugged on her next course of action. The healer started to think that she was out of her depth. It was getting harder to anticipate his moves. Each blocked attack left her arms shaking. Keeping this fight ongoing could spell disastrous results. If only her pod was working then maybe things would be different.

The brunette brought herself outta that negative mindset. 'Easy. 6H you got this. If you can touch him once you can touch him again.'

'Wait for it…'

She blocked multiple strikes with her katana. Every single clash left a huge impact on the steel.

'Wait for it…'

6H focused in. Seeing his sword leaving her to travel around an hit her from the other side.

'Got you!'

The YoRHa unit yelled. Bringing her katana upward to meet his descending blade. If 6H poured all of her strength into this swing then she could cause a rebound. Giving her an opening to attack.

The broadsword clashed into the katana. Only for the latest advancement of technology to utterly shatter into pieces. 6H's eyes grew to tremendous proportions upon this terrifying result. She divided into silhouettes as the broadsword came down. The brunette used her program to put some distance between him.

"H-how?" 6H shakily dropped the empty handle. That was a perfectly conditioned katana from YoRHa. She used it a total of 3 times before this fight and it was capable of cutting a horde of machines. To get destroyed in a pathetically short manner of time reinstated how much of a dangerous man he is.

"Your not worthy enough as my opponent."

The healer couldn't even so much as to reply for in the next moment her entire being was the target by a dozen blades. It was like the very sword she misjudged had cloned itself to a degree that she couldn't see the man holding it. In this time frame 6H realized far too late that she was doomed. No part of her body was left unscarred, deep agonizing stabs invaded past her skin. Reaching vital parts of her circuitry and severing them completely. Her pain sensors were off the charts. She wanted to scream but the millions of stabs prevented her. It was just that unbearable. 6H was given a final push and needless to say she had no amount of fight left in her.

Endless spillage of blood leaked from her wounds. 6H blinked, holding in her cries. Getting up to her feet she locked eyes with the man in blue. 6H thought about his very nature, it was clear this guy was a major threat. Not only against her faction but to humanity as well. The word humanity echoed across her weakening mind. Oh how she adored to one day see the great humans who've created her.

She wanted to see them, she wanted to meet them, she wanted to witness humanity's grace for herself.

Anger flooded in her systems. There's no way 6H could call herself a proud defender of humanity if she didn't go all out. He was a threat not just to her but to all the humans on the moon. 6H took a breath, ignoring how difficult it was given the holes in her chest. Representing YoRHa she must eliminate him no matter what. Redirecting all of her remaining power 6H delivered her own scowl.

Vergil watched in intrigue as 6H dipped her head back at him. The visor unraveled from her face, showing angry orbs resembling a shade of blue similar to his own. Despite the fatal injuries she still showed some bravery but at this point who was she fooling. It was than Vergil detected something. A rise of energy similar to man-made electricity brewing from within the girl.

"It's…too late now." 6H told him.

"What are you getting at?"

"As a proud…YoRHa soldier. It's…my duty to eliminate…jerks like you from the world. Glory…to mankind." A buzzing could be heard, one that got louder to the point a regular person could hear it.

Vergil's expression opened up. 6H smiled at his dumb look. The jerk had just now realized what was happening. Oh well, sucks for him. At least she now knows that humanity could be safe thanks to her. 6H closed her eyes, accepting the brave sacrifice she's about to commit. May she offer her hopes and wishes that YoRHa ends the machine's reign for humanity's sake. Her body began to glow as she could feel her very core cackle wildly. In the midst of it a small thought went ignored the moment his eyes bored into hers. This man exuded a feeling she couldn't explain but all that was useless now.

"DIE YOU SCUM-AUGH!"

A sword comprised of entirely supernatural sorcery had went through her in a swift and clean motion. Her energy levels dropped, eliminating the yellowish glow. A shocked expression spilled over 6H's face. Staring at the man who managed to conjure a projectile of unknown origin without lifting a finger.

"…no."

Her eyes grew heavy, knees buckling.

6H fell face first to the ground.

Vergil stared at her body before departing from the oasis.

"Glory to mankind…interesting."
