Loving a loser is hard Chapter 8

Naruto, still covered in Hinata's blood, rushed into the dimly lit hallways of the Root Black Ops operation room, his heart pounding with anger and desperation. As he turned the corner, he was greeted by Sai, who blocked his path.

"Naruto, Sasuke's waiting for you," Sai said calmly, his eyes scanning Naruto's blood-stained clothes. "But before you go, I need you to promise something don't hurt Kiba."

Naruto's jaw clenched, his fists trembling with barely restrained rage. "I promise I won't touch that bastard," he growled through gritted teeth.

Satisfied, Sai stepped aside, allowing Naruto to continue down the corridor. As Naruto approached cell 005, he ran into Sasuke, who was waiting for him with a serious expression. "Naruto, there's something you need to know," Sasuke said, his voice heavy with the weight of the truth. "Kiba was being controlled by Black Zetsu."

Naruto stopped in his tracks, his anger momentarily replaced by confusion. "What?" he said, his voice laced with disbelief. "Black Zetsu? I thought we destroyed him!"

Sasuke nodded grimly. "We did, but it seems like there were still remnants of him. He latched onto Kiba, feeding off his jealousy and twisting his mind. This isn't just about Kiba, Naruto it's about something bigger. There could be more Zetsu out there, waiting to strike."

Naruto's mind raced as the implications of Sasuke's words sank in. He thought of Menma, Miyako, and Sakura each of them vulnerable to this new threat. And then, he thought of Hinata, the woman he loved, who was now in danger because of his own failures. The thought that she was pregnant with his child made his heart ache even more he couldn't let anything happen to her or their unborn baby.

Naruto's gaze softened as he looked at Sasuke, appreciating the concern in his friend's eyes. "Thank you, Sasuke," he said quietly. "I know you care about my kids about our kids. I need to keep them safe." Sasuke placed a hand on Naruto's shoulder. "We'll get through this, Naruto. Together. But first, you need to focus on what's most important protecting your family."Naruto nodded, the fire in his eyes "You're right. I'll do whatever it takes to protect them, and I'll make sure that Black Zetsu's influence is gone for good."

Naruto activated Sage Mode, using his enhanced senses to scan for any remnants of Black Zetsu. He detected one in the Land of the Sand and another in the Land of Lightning. So far, there were none in the Leaf. "Okay, I'll take care of it now," Sasuke said, determination in his voice.

Naruto nodded. "Don't worry, I'll keep a clone in Sage Mode to protect the village. Good idea. Tell Sakura I'll be late." Sauske said.

Naruto watched as Sasuke disappeared, feeling a surge of determination. "I won't let you down," Naruto said firmly, knowing the weight of the promise he had just made. Sasuke's voice echo back, even as his friend vanished. "I know you won't, loser.

Outside, Inuzuka Tsume and Hana stood by, their concern about Kiba. "Naruto, please, you have to speak on Kiba's behalf," Tsume urged. "He always loved Hinata. He would never want to hurt her. It's Black Zetsu's fault."Hana, tears streaming down her face, added, "He was so happy about marrying Hinata. He really was."Naruto nodded. "I understand. Let me talk to him."

Naruto, I know it's you. I can smell you," Kiba said urgently. "Is Hinata okay? No one will tell me. I didn't kill her, please tell me she's alive."

Inside the interrogation room, Kiba was suspended in the air by chakra chains, each limb restrained. His eyes locked onto Naruto's with a mixture of desperation and fear. " She's alive," Naruto said coldly. "But you need to explain why you listened to Black Zetsu."

Kiba's face crumpled in anguish. "I love her, Naruto. I don't understand what happened.

"Tell me so I can make sense of it." Naruto said.

Naruto glanced at the scrolls beside Kiba's chains. "It started after Pain's attack on the Leaf," Kiba began, his voice trembling. "Black Zetsu manipulated me, using my insecurities and turning my love for Hinata into something dark and destructive." Kiba's eyes filled with tears. "I never wanted any of this. I couldn't control it."

Naruto spoke harshly. "Black Zetsu twisted your emotions and actions. You betrayed your own feelings and hurt the people you cared about."

Kiba's POV Five Years Ago

"What the hell is going on, Akamaru?" Kiba shouted in panic. "The Leaf is being attacked!" He had to find Hinata. "Let's go!"As he ran through the chaos, he saw Naruto, cloaked and fighting a spiky-haired opponent. The scene was horrific as Naruto was slammed to the ground and impaled. Blood gushed from his wounds, and Kiba's fear grew.

Then he saw Hinata charging onto the battlefield. Despite her bravery, she was overpowered. Kiba watched in horror as the spiked-hair man lifted Hinata into the air and stabbed her in front of the entire Leaf Village.

End of flashback

Naruto, reflecting on his worst memories, admitted. That also was horrible memory.

Then I realized I was in love with Hinata. She loved you, even though you were pursuing Sakura. After the war, she continued to love you. I devised a plan. While we were on a mission and exhausted, I saw the spa attendants coming to our room asking for you. You were knocked out, so I told them you would meet them. I used a transformation jutsu and pretended to be you. The women threw themselves at me, and I slept with both of them."

Naruto, disgusted, continued listening.

"The next morning, Sakura was furious. I told her you were enjoying the spa attendants, and she was enraged. The women thanked you for the night, but you claimed you didn't remember. I said you were with them. You showed me a necklace your mother had left for you. I had a hundred replicas made." Naruto's voice was strained. "You know using Transformation Jutsu to sleep with women while pretending to be me is illegal." Naruto's eyes were cold. "Why did you remake my mother's necklace?"

"The goal was to ruin your reputation," Kiba confessed. "I spread rumors after every mission, hoping Sakura would become jealous. I wanted to undermine you and make Hinata to see me as a better choice."

Kiba filled Sakura's head with jealousy, which ultimately led to her and Naruto having sex. As a result, Sakura became pregnant and, out of shame, kept Menma a secret. Sakura was heartbroken, feeling she had betrayed the love she had for Sasuke as a lover and her deep bond with Naruto as a friend.

Naruto shook his head in disbelief. "I can't believe you had a hand in that as well, Kiba. I couldn't understand why my life was becoming so shitty."

Kiba shook his head. "I didn't know about your son or daughter."

Kiba's voice was choked with regret. "Naruto, I loved Hinata, but her feelings for you never wavered. I thought that by blackmailing you into breaking up with her, I might finally have a chance."

Naruto's voice was cold, yet sad. "Kiba, you did all this to be with Hinata? Why didn't you just confess your feelings? It would have been better than creating all this jealousy and hatred."

Kiba's eyes were filled with remorse. "I was blinded by my own desires and insecurities. I thought I could manipulate the situation to my advantage. I'm sorry, Naruto. I never meant for it to go this far."

"Why do you keep acting so damn innocent, Naruto?" Kiba spat blood onto the floor. "You and Hinata were fucking behind my back. Did you think it was funny that I believed she was a virgin while she kept rejecting me? You must have had a good laugh at my expense. You were messing with my girl, Naruto!"

Naruto shot back, "Hinata and I never were together while you were with her. She couldn't even stand to look at me because of you. Every time we crossed paths, you flaunted her as if to rub it in my face that she was yours now."

"Liar!" Kiba shouted. "Explain how a virgin gets pregnant, then."Naruto replied, "We made love the night we came back from the moon."

"Liar!" Kiba yelled again. "You were with me the whole time."

"Shadow clones," Naruto said.

Kiba's face went pale as realization hit him. "Do you mean she really was going to marry me?"

"Yes," Naruto said, his tone somber. "Before you lost control and hurt her, I think Hinata genuinely wanted to be a good wife for you. When I found out she had sex with you Naruto I was devastated. Black Zetsu took over, and I blacked out. I couldn't stop myself from hurting her. I was about to do more damage, but if you hadn't intervened when you did…"

Kiba looked horrified and shattered, struggling to come to terms with the truth.

Lord Sixth approached Kiba and Naruto. "Kiba, as the next head of the Inuzuka clan, you're regarded as a lord. After discussions between your mother, sister, and Hinata's father, Hiashi, it has been decided not to press charges against you. However, as a consequence of your actions, I'm demoting you back to Chūnin rank. Hinata has chosen not to take legal action against you.

You will be required to undergo rehabilitation under the supervision of Ino and Sai. Additionally, you are banned from participating in missions for five years. At Hinata's request, you are not allowed near her.

Moreover, you must provide the names, dates, and times when you impersonated Naruto. You are to write a letter of apology to each woman affected. Each woman will have two options: to forgive you and meet the real Naruto, or to withhold forgiveness, which will result in an extension of your punishment. Based on their responses, you may be barred from working as a ninja of the Leaf for more additinal year. This is your punishment.

We regret involving you in this, Naruto," Lord Sixth added, turning to him, "but given the trauma these women experienced, we believe that meeting the real you could help alleviate some of their pain."

Naruto nodded solemnly. "I understand and agree to it."

Naruto, stunned, said, "Is that all? He almost killed Hinata, and she doesn't want him punished? She said she loves Kiba as a friend but won't marry him anymore?"

Kiba, with a bitter laugh, responded, "Hinata really is incredible. She still cares for me despite everything. I'm amazed. Thanks, Hinata."

"Don't ever mention her name again," Naruto snapped, punching Kiba in the face. "Enough. Your children are waiting for you at home. Hinata doesn't want to see you right now. She'll contact you when she's ready."

Naruto arrived home, calling out, "I'm home!" Tenten rushed to him and hugged him tightly. "Oh my Hokage , I heard what happened. Are you okay? Is Hinata okay?"

"Yeah, I'm okay, and she's okay," Naruto reassured her. "Thanks for helping out with the kids."

Tenten started preparing the bath. "Let me help you with your clothes," she said gently.

Before she could do more, Naruto said, tears in his eyes, "Thank you for taking care of my kids. I love Hinata, but I'm tired of being used. I don't have the energy for anything else right now. I have three different mothers of my children. Even though Miyako is technically my cousin, I still adopted her as my daughter. I love you as a friend, Tenten, but I'm too weak and broken to want anything more right now. I just want to shower and sleep."

Tenten replied softly, "Don't worry about it. I'm not looking for anything from you. I'm not trying to use you or get a pity fuck. I just want to help. Us orphans need to stick together."

Exhausted and still providing charka to his shadow clones, Naruto trusted Tenten and allowed her to bathe him and tuck him into bed. "I cherish our friendship too much to let anything ruin it. Thank you, Tenten. You'd make an amazing wife someday."

Tenten smiled. "I'm glad you think so. I have a date with Lee tomorrow and I'm hoping things will work out with him."

"That's great," Naruto said, smiling back. "I'm staying in the guest room now. Rest up."

Tenten reassured him, "Don't worry about the ninja gossip or anything. You're not married, and you're at your home. Who cares about all that." Naruto closed his eyes and drifted to sleep.

Hinata's POV

Hinata woke to see Lady Tsunade examining her. "You're going to be okay," Tsunade said reassuringly. Sakura rushed in, her eyes filled with tears. "Hinata, I'm so glad you're awake."

"The baby?" Hinata asked weakly.

"It's fine," Sakura said, trying to comfort her.

"Thanks to the Hokage."

"Hinata, you and Sakura should know what happened with Kiba," Lady Tsunade began, explaining everything that Lord Sixth had shared with her about Kiba being controlled by Dark Zetsu.

Hinata started to cry, and Sakura held her close. After a moment, Sakura asked gently, "Do you want Kiba to be punished?"

Hinata wiped her tears and finally spoke. "He's aware of what he did now, right?"

"Yes," Tsunade confirmed.

Hinata took a deep breath. "Then trust me, that's more than enough punishment. I don't want his clan to be ruined, and I won't press charges."

Sakura looked at her with concern. "Are you sure, Hinata?"

"Yes," Hinata replied firmly. "Please tell Lord Sixth that I'll call for Naruto when I'm ready. But I don't want to be around Kiba."

Tsunade nodded and said, "I'll leave you two alone," before stepping out.

Sakura sat by Hinata's side, her expression serious. "Hinata, I need to apologize. There's something I need to explain about Menma."

Hinata braced herself, knowing this conversation would be difficult, but she was determined to listen.

"I was in a dark place," Sakura began, her voice trembling. "Naruto and I... it wasn't out of love or anything romantic. It was a pity fuck. He only had sex with me because I asked him to. Naruto even told me afterward that he didn't enjoy it, and that my body wasn't impressive." Sakura's voice broke as she recalled Naruto's harsh words."

She took a deep breath before continuing. "After that, Naruto couldn't stand to be around me. He wouldn't even speak to me. When I found out I was pregnant, I was too ashamed to tell him, so I asked Lord Sixth for help. Our son, Menma, lived with Lord Sixth every day, and Naruto had no idea. He only found out when you delivered Miyako to Lord Sixth. That was the first time Naruto knew about Menma."

Hinata looked at Sakura, her emotions mixed. "Why are you telling me this? "Because we're best friends," Sakura said earnestly. "I want you to know the truth."

Hinata shook her head, struggling to process everything. "How does this work? Naruto has three different baby mothers?"

Sakura nodded. "Yes, but Hinata, Naruto loves Menma and he cares deeply for his other children as well. He loves being a dad. But I want to be honest with you he loves you, Hinata. I know you're his dream."

"Thank you, Sakura," Hinata said, her voice soft. "I'm so sorry about Kiba."

Hanabi and Hiashi entered the room, their expressions a mix of concern and relief.

"Hinata, how are you feeling?" Hiashi asked, his voice steady but filled with worry.

"I'm okay, Father," Hinata replied, trying to offer a reassuring smile.

Hanabi approached her sister's bedside. "I'm glad to see you awake," she said softly. "How's the baby?"

"Everything's fine," Hinata said. "Sakura and the Lady Hokage have been taking good care of us."

Hiashi nodded, looking at Sakura with a grateful expression. "Thank you for being here for Hinata. It means a lot."

Sakura gave a small smile. "Of course. I'm just glad she's okay."

Hanabi took a deep breath and glanced at Sakura. "Sakura, thank you for explaining everything to Hinata. I know it must have been hard."

Sakura nodded. "I just wanted her to know the truth."

Hiashi turned back to Hinata. "We're here for you, Hinata. Whatever you need, just let us know."

"Thank you, Father," Hinata said, her eyes welling up with gratitude.

As the family gathered around, a sense of unity and support filled the room, offering Hinata comfort and strength.

Lord Sixth came to visit Hinata, who was sitting quietly, her eyes downcast. "Why didn't I fight him back?" she asked, her voice trembling. "I just took all his blows and hits. Maybe because I believed I deserved it... or maybe it was shock because I couldn't believe Kiba was the one hurting me." She began to cry, closing her eyes as the painful memories surface. Kiba's fingers violating her, his breath, the force of his blows.

"Hinata, you're going to be okay," Lord Sixth reassured her gently. "But you'll need therapy to help you work through this. Don't think you're weak. He was your teammate, and it's natural not to want to fight someone you care about. Think about how hard it was for Naruto to fight Sasuke all those years ago." Rest he said you need rest.

Two Weeks Later Hinata Therapy session

Settled into the chair across from Shizune, her hands nervously clasped in her lap. The room was quiet, expect for the soft rustle of papers as Shizune prepared for their session. Hinata looked down at her hands, her voice trembling. "Shizune, why couldn't I fight back? Why did I just freeze up?"

Shizune sighed, her eyes filled with compassion. "Sometimes, in situations like that, people freeze because they're in shock or overwhelmed. It's not about being weak; it's a natural reaction when you're scared and hurt. You did what you could in that moment."

Hinata hesitated, then asked, "And why can't I face Naruto? Every time he comes to see me, I can't bring myself to see him."

Shizune gently explained, "Avoiding Naruto might be your way of protecting yourself from more pain. You're dealing with a lot of emotions right now, and seeing him might bring up difficult feelings. It's okay to take your time and get yourself ready before facing him."

"Thank you, Shizune, for all your help. I know I need to talk to Naruto; I'm pregnant with his child."

"Find a place where you feel most comfortable, Hinata."

"I feel safest at home with my father and sister. Maybe I'll invite him over for dinner."

"That sounds like a good plan. How are the nightmares and your sleep?"

"They're not going well. Every time I close my eyes, I see Kiba."It's okay, Hinata. I've prescribed a small dose of medication that's safe during pregnancy. It should help you sleep better."

*Naruto's POV*

Naruto had just finished changing Menma, who was now happily sitting in the kitchen, munching on a bowl of cereal. He served his daughter Miyako some somewhat questionable-looking pancakes, which she ate with a polite smile. As he leaned in to kiss them both, he heard a knock at the door.

"Tenten!" he exclaimed as he opened it, pulling her into a warm hug. The kids' faces lit up at the sight of her, their excitement. Naruto felt a pang in his heart, knowing that while Menma had Sakura as a mother, Miyako rarely saw her own. He was deeply grateful for Tenten's presence in their lives.

The previous day, after Tenten's initial help, Naruto had apologized for mistakenly assuming she had alternative motives. He didn't want to be manipulative again. As they chatted, a beautiful hummingbird fluttered into the kitchen, capturing the children's attention. Tenten marveled at the bird, "What a pretty bird!" To everyone's surprise, the hummingbird dropped a scroll. Naruto picked it up, intrigued.

Dear Naruto*

I'm sorry it's been two weeks since you saved me from Kiba, and we haven't spoken. I'd like to invite you and the kids to my home for dinner with my family. I'm looking forward to seeing you.

Love,

Hinata

Naruto read the note again. "What's that?" Tenten asked.

"It's from Hinata. She wants me to come over with the kids for dinner."

"That's perfect, especially since Sakura's working late tonight and won't be able to take the kids."

"Yeah, it's amazing how Sakura looks after Miyako too," Naruto said.

"It is kind of her," Tenten agreed. "But since she's working late, I'm here to help. You know, Naruto, I'm just filling in until Hinata comes back. It's part of my job to look out for you."

Naruto smiled. "I know. I'm not getting my hopes up too high. At best, I hope Hinata allow me to be part of my child's life and maybe be friends. I'd also like her to spend time with my other kids.

Hinata's Pov

Hinata was cooking non-stop and she smiled as her small pregant bump was showing. She couldn't remember that last time she smiled like this. Hinata prepared a comforting dinner of homemade miso soup, teriyaki chicken, steamed rice, and a side of fresh vegetable salad. Her scars heal nicely her black eye was still visible because of her scars she choose to wear long sleeve purple dress. She applied small amount of makeup. You look great Hanabi said Naruto just arrived.

Hinata rushed down the stairs, feeling like a teenager eager to see Naruto. He was helping his children remove their shoes. He wore an orange sweater and khaki pants, and he gave her a soft smile. Miyako ran up to Hinata. "Hi!" she exclaimed.

"Hi, Miyako. Did you miss me?" Hinata asked.

"Yes!" Miyako replied. Naruto, holding Menma who was trying to squirm out of his arms, handed him over to Hinata. She pulled Menma close and kissed him. "It's good to see you, Naruto."

Naruto wanted to hug her, but he hesitated.

"Let's eat," Hanabi said. "Naruto, your kids are so cute. I love their blond hair, just like yours, and they have your eyes. I can't wait for the baby to be born."

Naruto gave an awkward smile. Hinata thought, "Way to bring up the elephant in the room."

They all sat down to eat. The kids were very lively, causing a mess, and Naruto apologized for them. After dinner, Naruto left to speak with Hinata's father. When he returned, Hanabi sensed the need for privacy as it was getting late.

"Naruto, how about I put the kids to bed in the guest room?" Hanabi offered.

"Really, it's okay," Naruto said, not wanting to impose.

"It's my pleasure, Naruto, after everything you've done for our family," Hanabi insisted. "It's past their bedtime, and they're on a sleep schedule right ?"

"Okay," Naruto agreed. Hinata then asked, "Can we take a walk?" They walked the Hyuga grounds in silence.

"Thank you for saving me, Naruto," Hinata said softly. "I'm sorry for how cold I acted that day when you tried to talk to me. I didn't listen, and I regret all the times we missed the chance to speak."

*o0o*

Naruto's POV:

I was taken aback when Hinata apologized. "Hinata, please don't apologize," I said. "I'm the one who broke things off with you, and I can only imagine how painful it was for you to find out about Menma and Miyako, and about my ex-wife."

"Can I please explain? Will you listen?" I asked, hoping for a chance to make things right.

"My ex-wife was Princess Hiyama. There's something you need to know, and it's a secret you must keep. Miyako is not my biological daughter."

Hinata gasped. "She's my cousin," I continued. "My cousin fell in love with Princess Hiyama, but he died tragically. Their love was forbidden, and Miyako would have been in danger, so I took her in as my daughter to protect her."

"To free the princess, I married her. I divorced her afterward so she could live freely," I explained. Hinata's face looked shocked.

Hinata looked shocked, struggling to process the information.

"Menma is my son, though. I was in a dark place when I slept with Sakura. Some of that darkness was influenced by Black Zetsu and Kiba. I deeply regret what happened between us. But despite everything, having Menma was worth it. If our relationship led to having him, I wouldn't change a thing."

The next day after we returned form the Moon, I didn't mean to hurt your feelings with the bento box from Mika. I took it without thinking. When I ran into Kiba, he threatened to tell you and Sasuke about Sakura and our secret affair from a year ago. He also claimed to have details about other women I supposedly slept with. What I didn't know was that Black Zetsu's manipulation, along with Kiba's deceit, led me to believe I was involved with all those women when, in fact, I never was."

Hinata clutched Naruto's hand, tears streaming down her face. "When I realized I loved you and you loved me, I was terrified of losing you. I felt like a loser and didn't deserve you, so I ended things in the cruelest way possible. I'm truly sorry."

Naruto looked at Hinata, his own tears mixing with hers. "It's okay," she said, trying to comfort him. "When I saw you possibly happy with Kiba, I tried to win your love back. That night at your rehearsal dinner, I wanted to tell you everything. I felt it wasn't fair that you didn't know about my children and my past. I was just a horrible villain to you. When I saw Kiba hurting you, I lost control. I've been trying to talk to you since then. Hinata, I know our lives are complicated, and I have two children already. I never imagined our relationship would start like this. It ended before we even had a chance. We shared one blissful night, just one day. It was the best day of my life. After everything we've been through, do you think we can be friends for the sake of our child?"

*o0o*

Hinata's POV

Hearing Naruto pour out his heart deeply touched Hinata. He didn't regret their time together, and she understood that things were not as simple as they seemed. What hurt her the most was when he asked if they could just be friends. This broke her heart, as so much had come between them. Maybe he was right that this was all they could ever be was just friends. But she wished he had asked if they could try again as lovers.

"Yes, Naruto, we can be friends," she said, seeing his face light up. "Can I hug you?" he asked.

"Yes," she replied. They held each other tightly, finding comfort in their embrace.

*o0o*

As Hinata walked Naruto to his guest room, she said, "Goodnight, and thank you again for coming, Naruto."

"Thank you for everything, Hinata," he replied.

Later, as Hinata fell asleep in her bed, her nightmares began. She tossed and turned, tears streaming down her face. "Hinata, it's okay, baby. I'm here," Naruto's voice whispered soothingly. She opened her eyes to see him standing in front of her.

He gently climbed into bed with her, and she clung to him, crying into his chest. He comforted her, kissing her forehead, whispering, "I'm here. I'm not going anywhere."

Hinata leaned forward, and their lips met in a tender kiss. She gazed into Naruto's blue eyes, the ones she loved, and eventually drifted into a peaceful sleep.
