"You can't sell those..."
Takakura grumbled that as he walked passed me, him kind of appearing out of nowhere. I peered my head up in confusion. "Huh?" Yet when I looked up, somehow he was already out of sight in a flash. I twitched in mild annoyance. What does he mean that I can't sell these?!
By these, I mean flower crowns. Currently, I'm sitting under a tree that's kind of near the town square where I usually set up my shop if Van isn't there. For about one hour now, I've been making some flower crowns by hand with my intention being: to sell them at my shop. Yesterday I couldn't find any freaking items at the dig site and I still couldn't manage to catch any fish either (I don't know if I'll ever fulfill Nami's fishing request at this point to be honest, sigh). Sadly, I couldn't even forage for any other items other than flowers. I just couldn't find anything else on the ground! So, naturally I was thinking outside the box and thought I could make flower crowns to make some more money when I open my shop today. I desperately need money to buy a sheep already! And I'm even more desperate and excited because I heard that the sheep are pink!
Anyway, I've made about five flower crowns so far. They all consist of red Happy Lamp flowers, yellow Mist Moon flowers, and even though it's not spring anymore, somehow I did manage to find a few pink Goddess Drop flowers. The last one I had just finished was consisting of only the pink Goddess Drop and yellow Mist Moon flowers. Smiling a bit, I decided to put it on my head and pondered if I should keep this one for myself or sell it. Anything that has pink in it is my absolute weakness, but I need the money and-
"What are you doing?"
I nearly jumped at then seeing Nami standing in front of me with her hands in her pockets, her mysterious crystal-blue eyes staring down into mine. My heart started beating as fast as a hummingbird's wings. The color pink began to inevitably infiltrate my cheeks.
I was speechless. Before I could even think of anything to say to her, Nami to my surprise, knelt down beside me and she casually picked up one of my flower crowns, quietly inspecting it for a moment.
"You know... I told you that you can't eat flowers."
Beyond flustered, I immediately swiped the flower crown out of her grasp. "Y-You're still on about that?! As if I'm the type to eat them!"
"You kind of look like the type..." Nami muttered.
"W-What?!" I hollered in disbelief, my face burning while absolutely blushing up the biggest storm, and I began to wave the flower crown in her face. "Does this really look like something someone would eat?! It's a flower crown, hellooo!"
"Hm... Looks like you made a lot of them," she quietly observed.
I was a little taken aback. "U-Uh, well yeah. I'm trying to sell them to make more money, but I..." I paused for a moment and next started to angrily wave my fist. "But then freaking Takakura randomly had the audacity to tell me that I can't sell them here!"
"I don't see why not..." Nami muttered.
My face lit up at a sudden idea. "Here! You should try one on!" I bubbly exclaimed giggling as I then with much swiftness, put a flower crown that had both the red Happy Lamp and yellow Moon Mist flowers on her head before Nami could protest.
Nami blushed furiously. "Get this thing off me!"
"Nooo, don't! It looks good on you!" I urgently insisted. Nami went to grab the flower crown residing on her head and without thinking, I grabbed onto Nami's wrist to stop her from doing so. I paused as we gazed into each other's eyes for a moment and then I began to blush berserkly at realizing how physically close we were to each other now, especially our faces, as we sat. Maybe it was my imagination, but Nami seemed to have so much desire lingering in her alluring eyes, and instead of letting go of her wrist or saying anything, I managed to nervously smile at her instead. A slight grin appeared on Nami's lips as she just remained where she was, which shocked me. My heart began pounding. There was such insane tension as my eyes then couldn't help but then stare at her lips. Is she going to k-
"Farmer girl and Nami sitting in a tree! K-I-S-S-I-N-G!"
Blushing outrageously, Nami and I both flinched as we immediately moved away from each other, then turning to see that Chris and Sully's child, Hugh, was the culprit for singing that teasing-tune.
'H-Hey stop!" I gasped flustered.
He was smirking as he continued.
"First comes love! Then comes marriage! Then comes-"
"The Rock! To end your ridiculousness! I'll never forgive you for what you did to that turtle, kid! And if anyone is going to marry Babe, it's going to be ME!" Rock suddenly declared in a roar, him appearing out of nowhere, and he started to have a stare-down with Hugh as they both glared at each other.
"I can't believe I live in the same town as you!" Rock spat at the little dude, growling.
"Your forehead is big! And your hair is goofy!" Hugh fought back.
Rock let out the most loudest dramatic gasp and scowled. "WHY YOU! It's because Nami keeps stealing my hair gel!"
The two continued to banter for awhile.
I blinked, puzzled. '"T-Turtle? What did he do to a turtle...?"
Nami sighed and she slowly stood up, she then reached out her hand for me to grab it. I blushed, realizing that Nami wanted to help me up. I grabbed onto Nami's hand as she pulled me upwards. For a few seconds as we were now both standing up, her hand lingered unnecessarily and was still grasping onto mine as we watched the two bicker from afar - we were literally HOLDING HANDS. ... My heart skipped a beat as I next felt her tighten her grip on my hand. Her hand felt so soft, yet rough at the same time. It felt... nice. I can't stop blushing like crazy.
"Well, at least Rock's good for something, I guess..." Nami mumbled.
She then slowly let go of my hand and turned towards me. "Well, see you around. Remember what I said about the flowers."
My red-headed mysterious love interest began to walk away with her hands in her pockets as I instantly shouted beyond mortified, "For the last time, I'm not going to eat them!"
Rock then almost jumped at hearing what I said to her.
"YOU'RE GOING TO EAT HER?!"
Author Note: Wow, Nami is getting bold! XD Thank you all for reading my story, please review if you have the time to let me know what you think. I thought this was a super cute chapter to write. This story is very slice of life-y, but a lot more stuff will happen to progress the plot, I promise, lolll. Thank youuuuu. But yeah, if I could draw better, I'd totally draw Nami and my character wearing those flower crowns and their smiling moment. xD hehe. And if those that didn't pick it up, the turtle is a reference to one of Rock's heart events lmao.
