Two Weeks Ago

Rushing through the grass, as he followed the scent lay before him, Shin launched himself out, slamming his feet into the dummy. The damn thing's head splintered off as Shin flipped backwards and rushed off following the scent. He came before a set of swinging rings, waiting til the right moment he leapt through them all. He thought he was doing well before he heard it...

"HOWLLL!" His body shivered, and he knew the Haimaru brothers had been released.

Rushing off as swiftly as he could, he ran up a tree using his chakra, just as one of the hounds leapt at his body with it's slobbering jaws. 'Careful, got to be careful.' He muttered, looking about, he searched for a path to freedom...

And he saw it, no matter how dangerous it was.

Shivering, he waited until one of the hounds leapt up at him once more. Leaping at it, he pushed off with all of his might, sending it flying into the other two monsters hounds. Rushing off, he pushed chakra into his muscles and soon the world blurred. Soon he saw Mika, standing at the exit of the training grounds, and before the hounds chasing him could nip at his heels, he leaped into his Daddy's arms.

"You did it, you did it!" Mika buried his face into Shin's shaking side. "We are so ready for combat."

Hana, his mentor and friend, nodded. "You've also finally managed the Mystic Palm for basic wounds. I'd say you are ready, both of you."

Mika laughed internally as they wandered out of the Leaf and toward Wave. He kept an open eye out, as did Shin. Soon, very soon, Shin's thoughts danced in his mind. 'Daddy,... I smell ninja, not Leaf Smell.'

Mika nodded. 'I feel their chakras... they aren't strong, but they are cold.' Turning to Kakashi, he whispered. "Forgien Ninja, coming this way."

Kakashi's eyes widened from his position in the back of the pack. "Your cat?" He looked at Shin, who nodded.

Mika nodded. "And myself, Ibiki taught me practical sensory skills through meditation."

"Hmm..." The man said nothing, just scowled as they started to pass a puddle. Without waiting, Mika pulled out a kunai and an explosive tag before tossing it into the puddle.

The idiots within popped out, panic in their eyes as the tag exploded ( It was a weaker tag) sending them flying away. Mika and Shin moved as one. Shin leaped at one, slicing across their face making the shriek. Mika on the other hands sliced through the back of his target's legs, before popping their temple with the but of his tanto. He turned then, throwing a kunai piercing Shin's target and pinning him to the tree he was close to.

All in less than ten seconds.

'He's good, better than Sasuke but not by much. Less cocky, but just as sure. He is going to be 's too smooth, he moves like ROOT... I'll be keeping an eye on him' Kakashi turned to Tazuna as Mika started to tie up their enemies. "Tell me, why would two missing Mist Chunin be after us, Tazuna. Why would they risk being anywhere near the Village Hidden in the Leaves?" Tazuna's sigh and broken gaze forced Kakashi to stand straight. "Tell me what you are holding back?"

"Not here, please. I beg you, my entire nation, it's at stake if you do not help me."

Naruto cheered. "Kakashi sensei, we have to help him! A whole nation, we can't just let them suffer."

Sakura looked afraid, terrified. "We can't go on, we are just genin, this is too advanced for us!"

Mika was suddenly there by Kakashi, his blade clean and his eyes filled with undeniable warmth. "We should ask for backup, but still continue. As much as I hate his lies, we cannot risk an entire country, an entire nation." There was a warmth that no ROOT member could fake, and Kakashi felt much better about the boy. At least, in part. He would still keep an eye out.

"Fine, we will go on... but you will be honest with us, Tazuna. Am I clear?"

The Bridge Builder Gulped. "Yes, That I can agree to."

"Then off we go. Border patrol will be here to collect this group soon enough."

He pretended to not notice the hateful, jealous look in Sasuke's eyes... it would be put off for another day...

Mika frowned at Kakashi as they walked down the forested roads to Wave. 'So much for calling for backup... idiot. I will be reporting you to the Hokage... Moron.' He turned to Shin. "Good boy, Shin, you did so good."

Shin purred into his arms, his soft fur sweetly brushing against Mika's skin. 'Thank you, Daddy.'

"Keep your nose sharp for anyone that may come across us. We are likely to be attacked by Jonin next."

Shin nodded, sniffing the air, making Mika feel a lot safer.

"You've trained him well." Kakashi said. "He's fast, strong and sharp. You should be proud."

A pleased Mika nodded. "I really am."

"And proud of yourself... you did well. Ibiki would be proud."

"I hope so...I really do. I owe him a lot..." he turned back. "I've help with interrogations, I could help with them?"

Kakashi sighed. "I was afraid you'd say that. No torture here, kid..."

"Fine, spoil sport."
