The morning light filtered into the bedroom. Hailey stirred and woke up, feeling a wet patch under her. She quickly realized it was blood and sighed, knowing it was her period. She got up and headed to the bathroom.
In the bathroom, Hailey stood in front of the mirror, feeling a mix of frustration and disappointment. She sniffled, wishing she could have woken up to a better morning. As she started to clean up, she heard a knock on the bathroom door.
"Hailey, you okay in there?" Jay called from outside.
Hailey took a deep breath, trying to steady her emotions.
"I'm fine, Jay. Just give me a minute," she yelled back.
She quickly sent Jay a text message with a list of supplies she needed. Moments later, her phone buzzed with his reply:
"Got it. Be right back."
Hailey felt a bit of relief knowing Jay was there to help. She finished cleaning up and took a moment to compose herself before stepping out of the bathroom.
Back in the bedroom, Jay was already there with the supplies, waiting for her with a concerned look on his face.
"Here you go. Are you sure you're okay?" Jay asked.
"Yeah, just one of those mornings. Thanks, Jay," Hailey replied, smiling weakly.
Jay pulled her into a gentle hug, offering comfort and support.
"We'll get through it together. Let's take it easy today," he said.
Hailey and Jay sat at the kitchen table, enjoying a quiet breakfast together. The aroma of fresh coffee and toast filled the air. Hailey seemed more relaxed now, and Jay kept a close eye on her, making sure she was okay.
"Feeling any better?" Jay asked.
"Yeah, a bit. Thanks for being so understanding," Hailey replied, nodding.
"Always. So, what's the plan for today?" Jay inquired.
Hailey's eyes lit up with excitement as she remembered something.
"I was thinking… maybe we could try out the new 55. mags at the range today. I've been wanting to test them out."
Jay grinned, appreciating her enthusiasm.
"Sounds like a plan. It'll be good to get out and do something fun."
"Exactly. Plus, I think it'll be a good distraction," Hailey agreed.
Jay nodded in agreement, finishing his coffee. They both cleaned up their breakfast dishes and got ready for the day, looking forward to some time at the range.
Later, Hailey and Jay were at the gun range, testing out the new 55. mags. Suddenly, Hailey felt a sharp cramp in her stomach.
She stopped shooting, clutching her side, and then rushed to the side to throw up. Jay immediately put down his gun and started to go to her, but the range manager stepped in.
"Sir, please finish your round first. It's dangerous to leave your station like that," the manager said.
Jay looked torn, glancing between Hailey and the manager.
"But she's not feeling well. I need to help her," he insisted.
"I understand, but safety first. Finish your round, then you can check on her," the manager replied.
Jay reluctantly nodded, knowing the manager was right about the safety protocols, He quickly and carefully finished his round, keeping an eye on Hailey the whole time. Once he was done, he rushed over to her.
"Hailey, are you okay?" Jay asked.
Hailey looked up at him, still pale and shaky.
"Yeah, just a bad cramp. I think I need to sit down," she said.
Jay helped her to a nearby bench, making sure she was comfortable. He pulled out his phone and sent her a text message with a list of supplies she might need, just in case.
"I'll get you some water and anything else you need. Just rest here for a bit," Jay said.
Hailey nodded, grateful for his support. Jay headed off to get the supplies, leaving Hailey to catch her breath and recover.
Jay returned with water and some supplies for Hailey. As he helped her, the range manager approached them with their shooting scores.
"Here are your scores. Jay, you scored perfectly. Great job," the manager said.
Jay took the score sheet and looked at it, then glanced at Hailey's score.
"Hailey, you did well too. Considering the circumstances, you did your best," the manager added.
Hailey smiled weakly, appreciating the encouragement. Jay looked at her score and knew she would have done even better if she wasn't feeling unwell.
"You did great, Hailey. I know you would have nailed it if you weren't dealing with those cramps," Jay said.
"Thanks, Jay. I'll do better next time," Hailey replied, nodding gratefully.
Jay gave her a reassuring smile and a gentle squeeze on the shoulder.
"No rush. Let's just take it easy for now."
The manager nodded in agreement and walked away, leaving Jay and Hailey to rest. They sat together on the bench, taking a moment to relax and recover.
"How about we head home and take it easy for the rest of the day?" Jay suggested.
"Sounds like a plan," Hailey said, smiling.
Jay and Hailey walked out of the gun range, heading back to their Sierra. Jay was chewing on a toothpick, exuding that confident, sexy attitude that Hailey couldn't help but notice. She glanced at him and smirked.
"You know, you look pretty hot with that toothpick," Hailey said.
Jay raised an eyebrow, giving her a playful grin.
"Oh yeah? Maybe I should make it a permanent accessory."
Hailey laughed, shaking her head.
"Don't push your luck, Halstead."
They reached the Sierra, and Jay opened the door for Hailey, always the gentleman.
She climbed in, and he followed, settling into the driver's seat. He glanced over at her, his expression softening.
"Ready to head home?" Jay asked.
"Yeah, let's go," Hailey replied.
With a shared smile, they drove off, ready to spend the rest of the day together.
Jay and Hailey are snuggled together on the couch, enjoying a quiet evening. The TV is on in the background, but neither of them is really paying attention. Hailey starts to feel warm and begins to sweat. Jay notices and looks at her with concern.
"You okay, Hailey?"
Hailey wipes her forehead, feeling a bit uncomfortable.
"Yeah, just feeling a bit hot all of a sudden."
Jay gently rubs her stomach, trying to soothe her. His touch is comforting, and Hailey leans into him, appreciating his care.
"Maybe it's just your body adjusting. Do you want me to get you some water?" Jay suggested.
"That would be great, thanks." Hailey nods.
Jay gets up and quickly returns with a glass of water. Hailey takes a sip, feeling a bit better. Jay sits back down and resumes rubbing her stomach gently.
"You're really good at this, you know." Hailey smiled.
"Just trying to take care of you. You'd do the same for me." Jay smiled.
