"Last time on Total Drama Heritage, 24 fresh faces from all over Canada arrived for a season that is all about the Great White North in a brand new location that used to serve as a filming location for an old series called Camp Cariboo." Chris said. "They sang the national anthem, have to find tokens to determine their teams where some emerged unscathed while others…uh not so much, get settled in their cabins and have their first meal from Chef. Now they're about to begin their first challenge. What will the challenge be, who will win it and who will be booted first? Find out on TOTAL! DRAMA! HERITAGE!" Chris shouted.
…
(Intro plays)
…
The teams are standing together at a clearing while Chris is standing in front of the edge of a hill. Chris looks at the contestants and notices that one of them is missing.
"Hey, where's Betty?" asked Chris.
"She said she was in the washrooms puking from Chef's dish." Indie said
"I'm coming!" called Betty as she dashes over to join the rest of the Beavers.
"Well you're just in time for me to explain the first challenge." Chris said, slightly annoyed.
"Yeah thank goodness for that." Betty said all flustered.
"Campers for the first part of your first challenge, you have to pull pieces of a giant inukshuk up a steep hill." Chris explained showing them ten large slabs of rock at the bottom of a hill, all attached to long ropes with the ends at the top of the hill. Five of them are painted green and are on the left side meant for The Merciless Moose while the other five are painted red and are on the right side meant for The Barbaric Beavers. They each consist of a head, arms, body and two legs.
"It's actually called an innunguat or innunguaq in Inuit culture which means "imitation of a person" or "pretend person"." Tommy said, correcting Chris.
"Thank you for your insight." Chris said not really caring about the actual terminology for it. "You must pull them up one by one. After that, you must then drag the pieces over to where the second part of the challenge will take place. First team to make it with all five pieces will win an advantage for the second part." he continued to explain.
(Confession cam)
Jen: "And you think carrying the heaviest sports equipment is daunting enough."
(Static)
Raven: "This seems like a really demanding task but it does remind me of tug of war plus I got eleven others helping out."
(Static)
Corey: "This challenge will definitely rock! Get it?"
(End confession cam)
Chris notices Ian using his camcorder again.
"Hand it over now Spielberg Jr.." Chris ordered.
"Ohhhh." Ian groaned as he walks over to Chris and gives the camcorder to him.
"This will be kept in the confiscated stash at the crew area." Chris said as he hands Ian's camcorder to the intern with bangs who walks off.
"Goodbye companion." Ian said, feeling sad that his most prized possession has been taken away from him.
"You'll get it back eventually." Oliver said. "Besides, there's a lot to do that help will ease your mind."
"Yeah, because the first thing to alleviate it is that your challenge begins right about now." Chris said not really caring about Oliver's words of wisdom.
…
The teams are at the edge of the hill both holding one of their respective ropes, getting ready to begin the challenge. The Merciless Moose are holding the rope connected to the team inukshuk's head while The Barbaric Beavers are holding the rope connected to the team inukshuk's body.
"3, 2, 1, GO!" shouted Chris as the teams start pulling
"1, 2, 3, pull! 1, 2, 3, pull!" chanted The Moose as they rhythmically pull their head up the hill.
"Pull! Pull! Pull!" The Beavers also chanted using their own one while pulling the body up, but are not chanting in sync.
"What is the whole purpose of an "in your shack"?" Derek asked, already feeling the burn.
"They're used by the Inuit for guiding travellers, warning of danger, assisting hunters and marking places of reverence." Tommy said, irritated by Derek's ignorance. "They have many purposes you know."
(Confession cam)
Tommy: "Do I have to explain every single facet of Inuit life to outsiders. I'm not representative of every single one of them. They can just search it online, after all the internet is your best friend."
(End confession cam)
The Beavers almost have the inukshuk's body pulled to the top of the hill.
"Let's go get it!" shouted Jibber as he hastily lets go of the rope to get the body which causes the rest of the Beavers to accidently let go of it. In doing so, the body slides down the hill and back to the bottom. Jibber turns back only to discover his teammates glaring at him.
''What?" Jibber asked.
''How about you don't celebrate early and just wait for the entire piece to be pulled up." Jabber said all mad about his twin brother's impulsiveness.
The Moose have taken notice of the Beavers blunder.
"Make sure to pull the pieces up completely!" called Sadie who is the first in row for the Moose.
The Moose pull the head up entirely up the hill.
"Alright, we're making progress." Sadie said. "But we still got a long way to go."
"We can't just lose hope." Lee said who is the first in row for the Beavers. "Keep pulling!"
"Pull! Pull! Pull!" chanted the Beavers as they pulled the head up.
"Yeah!" Jen exclaimed.
"Now let's pull the rest of it up!" Lee called. "Do you want to win this?"
"Yes!" the rest of the Beavers shouted in unison, all determined to win this.
"Eyes on the prize people!" Sadie called.
"Right!" the rest of the Moose shouted in unison too.
"1, 2, 3, pull! 1, 2, 3, pull!" chanted The Moose as they pull the inukshuk's arms up.
"Pull! Pull! Pull!" chanted the Beavers as they pulled the left leg up.
Raven is on her knees being dragged out front due to her small size, already feeling exhausted. Despite this, the Moose manage to pull the body up.
Tommy is pulling while sitting down, his energy getting depleted, yet being the most knowledgeable about inukshuks, he is giving it his all as the Beavers pull the right leg up.
Lauren is tugging on the rope with great intensity.
"Think of it as like digging up dinosaur fossils." Lauren said as those words of encouragement helped the Moose to pull the left leg up.
Kale is pulling also with great intensity.
"Think of it as like making a zine." Kale said.
"What?" the rest of the Beavers said all dumbfounded, especially Delilah.
(Confession cam)
Delilah: "Kale's analogies are so awkward yet secretly funny at the same time." (bursts out laughing)
(End confession cam)
The Beavers pull the arms up even if Kale's statement wasn't as impressive as Lauren's.
Loonette is getting restless with how slow the pulling got.
"Guys, I've been saving my energy for this." Loonette said as she helps her team pull the right leg up with all her might.
"We got all the pieces." Sadie said all relieved.
"We can take all can all the pieces at once." Loonette said.
"Great idea Loonette." Mimi said.
The Moose all gather together and grab all the ropes at once. They then drag the pieces to make their way to the site of the second half of the challenge.
"Come on, let's pull the last piece up." Jen called.
The Beavers in unison pull the head up.
"Pick a piece to drag." Tommy said.
Kale, Delilah and Lee grabbed the rope attached to the body, Betty, Jen and Derek grabbed the rope attached to the arms, Josie and Russell grabbed the rope attached to the left leg, Tommy and Indie grabbed the rope attached to the right leg and Jibber and Jabber grabbed the rope attached to the head.
"Now, let's move!" Russell called.
The Beavers all start to drag their pieces to the site.
…
The Moose, dragging their pieces, are on their way to the site. Raven is all worn out.
"I don't think I carry on any longer." Raven slurred.
"Don't drop out now. With our combined strengths, we'll nail this." Loonette said optimistically. "Now let's charge like dynamite!"
The Moose motivated by Loonette's vigour all dragged even harder.
…
The Beavers meanwhile are far behind.
"My legs are feeling like jelly." Kale groaned.
"We all feel like that. Aren't you that well versed in sports?" Jen said.
"No" Kale responded.
"Come on Kale. I know you spent your whole life in the burbs, but this is an opportunity for you to step outside your comfort zone." Delilah stated giving her the encouragement she needs.
"Yeah, let's beat the Moose at their own game." Kale said with a smile on her face. "Now let's keep dragging."
Kale's newfound enthusiasm inspired the Beavers to drag harder and faster.
…
Chris is at the site for the second half of the challenge where he is relaxing on an Adirondack chair drinking a Tim Horton's coffee. Next to him are two black stands. The Moose arrive with their pieces.
"Merciless Moose congratulations, you made it first" Chris said "Therefore you've won the advantage."
"Yeah!" the Moose exclaimed with Raven falling flat on the ground to regain her energy, having been completely drained.
Then, the Beavers arrived with their pieces.
"Barbaric Beavers, the Moose has edged you out for the advantage." Chris said.
"We could've dragged all the pieces at once." Josie said all cross.
(Confession cam)
Loonette: "The Ten Second Tidy has paid off big time."
(End confession cam)
Russell walks over to Josie to console her.
"Josie, it isn't over yet." Russell said. "We still got the second half to go."
"Yes that is absolutely true." Chris said stepping onto the middle of the screen obnoxiously. "Will the Moose continue their streak with the help of an advantage or will the Beavers make an epic comeback? We'll be back after these messages."
The screen fades to black.
…
The teams are standing together while Chris is standing facing them where they are all standing next to the stands with the teams' inukshuk pieces in front of them with the ropes removed.
"For the second part of the challenge, you'll have to build the inukshuk pieces on these stands." Chris explained. "Moose, yours is on the left. Beavers, yours is on the right. The team to complete their inukshuk first wins both invincibility and reward."
"What's our advantage?" Reanne asked.
"Moose, for winning the first part, one of your pieces will already be placed for you." Chris stated.
(Confession cam)
Mimi: "Great! With just only four pieces, it's gonna be a breeze."
(End confession cam)
The three interns arrive where they lift the Moose's right leg and attempt to place it on their stand, but the chubby intern trips over it. They accidentally let go of it, tipping over before crushing the intern with bangs. The other two interns look in dismay.
"Let's send in a crane instead." Chris said, not happy at their incompetence.
…
The teams are facing their pieces, getting ready to begin the second part.
"3, 2, 1, GO!" shouted Chris as the teams race to their pieces.
"Alright, I'll take on the orders since I know all of this." Tommy said. "We'll all carry each piece over one at a time."
The Beavers go over to the inukshuk's right leg and lift it up.
"This is too heavy." Jabber groaned.
"With our combined strength, we'll prevail." Jen said.
The Beavers carefully carry the right leg over to their stand before gently placing it on the stand.
"You're already doing really well. Keep this up." Tommy commended.
Meanwhile, the Moose are not doing well. They were having arguments over which ones should carry the left leg over.
"I want to place the left leg." Franklin said.
"I do too." Henry said eagerly.
"Well I want to do it because it's like planting a tree." Reanne said.
"Well I feel like doing it is like setting up mise en scene so I should do it." Ian said all haughty.
Sadie, who intended to give out the orders for her team but is getting cut off, was about to lose her cool.
"STOP!" she shouted. "Let's do this in groups. "Loonette, Toby and I we'll place the left leg, Ian, Lauren and Corey you'll place the body, Oliver, Reanne and Henry you'll place the arms and Raven, Franklin and Mimi you'll place the head. Is that clear?"
The rest of the Moose nodded in agreement.
"Okay, the left leg." Sadie ordered as she, Loonette and Toby lift it up and walk slowly to the stand. They then place it gently on the stand.
"Now for the body." Sadie ordered again where Corey, Ian and Lauren lift the body up.
Over at the Beavers, they already placed the left leg on their stand. Now, they're carrying the body over.
"We must walk at an even pace." Tommy commanded. "If anyone goes faster than the rest of us, we'll end up like one of those interns."
As they make it to the stand, they notice how big the legs are. The Beavers all stand on their tip toes and place it on the legs.
"We just got two to go." Tommy said panting. "Conserve your energy to the very end."
The Beavers, who by now are already getting spent putting their hands on their heads to catch their breath, walk over to the arms. They all lift it up and make their way to the stand. They soon discover that the half-completed inukshuk has become much bigger than them.
"Let's just throw it up there." Derek suggested
"Great idea!" Tommy said. "On the count of 3."
"1…2…3!" the Beavers shouted as they throw the arms up in the air where it makes a perfect landing on the body.
"One more to go." Tommy said before his smile drops as he discovers the Moose have one more piece to go as well since Oliver, Reanne and Henry have just placed the arms on their inukshuk."
"Alright, it's now time to do the head." Sadie said.
Raven, Franklin and Mimi pick the head up. However, Mimi's arms have become tired.
"Since the inukshuk has become way big, we'll have a slightly different to put the head on." Tommy said. "Most of you will form a pyramid; I'll be on top while two of you will hand the head to me to put it on the inukshuk."
Kale, Jen, Derek and Josie stand together to form the fourth row. Jibber climbs on to them while Jabber attempts to climb but slips.
"Whoa!" Jabber screamed before his twin brother grabs his hand and helps him up.
Betty walks back before running towards the half-completed pyramid. She somersaults in the air and lands near Jabber to complete the third row. Russell and Indie climb next to form the second row. Finally, Tommy climbs to the top to complete the pyramid.
Raven, Franklin and Mimi attempt to put the head on their inukshuk but it is too big for them plus Mimi's arms are weakening.
"My arms are letting out so I'm gonna throw it to the top." Mimi said all broken down.
"Mimi no!" screamed Toby.
But it is too late as Mimi used what's left of her energy to hurl the head on top. Unfortunately, it wasn't able to reach it as it instead hits the body with such force that it is about to topple over."
"RUN FOR IT!" Corey screamed as the Moose all run from the structure screaming.
All the pieces topple off the stand and crash onto the ground. Luckily no one was hurt.
At the Beavers, Lee and Delilah toss the team head over to Tommy who places it on the arms perfectly in the middle.
"The Barbaric Beavers win the first challenge!" Chris said
"Yeah we did it!" exclaimed Tommy as he and the other nine break up the pyramid.
"And it's all because of you." Lee said warmly who gives Tommy a thumbs up.
Tommy gives one back to Lee. The Beavers all stand in a circle with their hands on their shoulders and jumped around.
"Beavers! Beavers! Beavers!" they chanted while celebrating.
"In addition to invincibility, you'll also get a reward from our sponsor; Dennis and Melanie's Bannock Bread, the snack that soothes the spirit. It's got honey on it." Chris said as it cuts to the eponymous bannock bread with honey drizzling on top.
Chef walks over to give the bannock bread to each of the Beavers. Indie takes a bite of hers and feels so refreshed.
"Mmmm real food and not from Chef." Indie said.
The Moose all watched the Beavers indulge in their reward, jealous and tired.
"I really want one." Raven said smacking her lips.
"I do too." Mimi said.
Then Raven's mood turns to bitterness.
"And we didn't get them because of you. We lost because you wanted to speed things up."
"But my arms got tired." Mimi rebutted.
"How about you value teamwork more than solo heroics." Toby said disappointed.
"Moose, you know the drill. You have to vote one of your teammates out tonight." Chris said.
Mimi is feeling nervous that she'll be the first to go as the teams head back to camp.
(Confession cam)
(Jibber and Jabber are sitting together still eating their bannock bread)
Jabber: "Here's to a day of victory…"
Jabber: …and bannock bread." (they both laugh)
(End confession cam)
…
Mimi and Sadie are sitting on the porch of the Moose cabin. Mimi is still feeling anxious about the likely first boot.
"Oh Sadie, my arms really did gave out. You have to believe me." Mimi begged.
"I believe you since my arms are worn out too." Sadie said.
Ian and Oliver walk over to the porch wondering what's going on.
"Why are you feeling down?" Oliver asked.
"I might be the first to go." Mimi said.
"Well things aren't always predictable." Ian said
Then Mimi remembered something.
"Hey didn't Lauren spend her whole life at a summer camp according to Chris." Mimi said
"Yeah why?" Sadie asked.
"Because that means it will give her an unfair advantage over the rest of us." Mimi said. "She's gonna be the first to go. Who's with me?"
"You're right." Oliver said. "I'm voting her out."
"Same here." Ian said.
"Count me in." Sadie said.
"Oh, but there is still four against eight." Mimi said still uncertain until she spots Corey, Franklin, and Loonette walking past. "Or maybe not."
"Mimi's got a plan." Mimi said as she walks over to them.
"Hey I know we lost the challenge thanks to me, but there is someone else who is a much bigger threat." Mimi said slyly.
"Who?" Loonette asked.
"Lauren, you see she lived her whole life at a summer camp and with all that experience, she'll kick us all to the curb." She explained.
"That does seem like a power imbalance to me." Corey said.
"We'll think about it." Franklin said.
Franklin, Loonette and Corey walk off.
"I just hope my plan will go into fruition." Mimi wondered all worried.
…
At the Bonfire Ceremony, the Moose are all sitting down while Chris is standing behind an oil drum.
"Moose, you almost got killed when your inukshuk toppled over." Chris said.
Raven, Toby, Reanne, Lauren and Henry glared at Mimi while Corey, Loonette and Franklin looked at her nervously. Mimi smiled awkwardly.
"Let's get on with the marshmallows now." Corey said impatiently.
"I won't be giving out marshmallows this season." Chris said. "Instead, I'll be giving out butter tarts in keeping up with the theme of Canadiana." He reveals a plate of 11 butter tarts.
"There are only 11 of them. The camper who doesn't receive one must take the Trail of Shame and board the Fail Bus." Chris explained where it pans to a trail and then to a dilapidated school bus. Its engine is rattling and the stop arm falls off.
"When I call your name, I'll toss it to you. Ian, Oliver, Sadie, Reanne, Toby, Raven, Henry, Franklin, Loonette, Corey." Chris said as he tosses butter tarts to each of the aforementioned.
Only Lauren and Mimi are left. Mimi is anxiously biting her necklace while Lauren sat all confident.
"And the final butter tart goes to…
…
…
…
…
…
…
…Mimi." Chris said as he tosses the last one to her.
"Yes!" Mimi shouted all victorious.
"What!" Raven exclaimed all confused.
"I…I…I…" Lauren said all shocked, unable to get her desired words out.
"Lauren, pack your bags because you're finito." Chris said.
Lauren gets up and leaves the elimination area still continuing to say I repeatedly.
"I thought we had the majority." Toby said.
"Well, I managed to convince some swing voters to edge it out." Mimi boasted pointing to Corey, Franklin and Loonette where they blush in embarrassment.
"You may have gotten out this pickle, but you'll be booted off next." Toby said all steamed up.
"The rest of you, you're safe for the night." Chris said.
…
Lauren is walking down the Trail of Shame still fumbling her words.
"I…I…I…" Lauren said as she boards the Fail Bus before it drives off. Then, Chris comes on screen.
"1 down, 23 to go. Who will be put out of their misery next? Find out on the next episode of TOTAL! DRAMA! HERITAGE!" Chris said signing off.
The reasons it took months for me to get it done is because I was feeling depressed from all that doomscrollng as I'm obsessed with reading current news as well as constantly checking the Olympic medal table plus I'm new here. Also, I don't get invested in writing chapters I find weak but I do get enthusiastic over chapters I really want to make and the next chapter is going to be just that.
