Alec sprints up the stairs of the apartment building to get the penthouse of the High Warlock of Brooklyn. Jace had called them hours ago claiming that Magnus has requested his help. Alec's immediate reaction was flicker of excitement that Magnus would need his help, but Alec believed that he could not get into the business of Downworlder drama. With the drama going on at home he decided to get away from it. He struggles up the stairs with the shaking that is going is happening?Alec thought. Alec picks up his pace to get to the warlocks lair.
Alec entered the opened door of the apartment to hear Clary running around the apartment adding ingredients to the cauldron on the table. To his right he sees Magnus kneeling beside the couch with an injured Luke on top. Blue magic pouring out of the warlocks hands and into the chest of the new alpha. That must be what the shaking is from then. The magic display is astounding, something he had never seen before. The amazement only last a second more before he noticed Magnus was starting sway where he was. Alec sees the mans eyes flutter close and starts his descent to the floor. Without further thought, Alec takes the moment to make his way to the other man and catch him before he falls. A knee behind the smaller mans back to keep the other man upright.
The warlock looks up weakly as the jarring from the human contact seemed to bring him back to the present. Magnus breathing was fast and shallow. Exhaustion evident on his face and in his posture. A weak hand is held up to Alec. "Help me. I need your strength", the warlocks voice hoarse. With a second of hesitation Alec grasped the smaller hand in his and replied "Take what you need". Magnus gives him a small smile before a nod and Alec pushes both of them forward and back over Lukes shaking body.
Giving another person strength is a weird feeling that Alec had never felt before. It wasn't exactly painful but a weird tingling feeling. He could feel that even with the sharing of his strength that Magnus was starting to tire, How long had he been going like this? How much longer could he keep going? Alec tried to not think about all of that and concentrate on giving Magnus as much energy as possible. There is no explanation as to why Alec agreed to help. He just knew that Magnus was special and needed his help. If Magnus was willing to help Luke then he was willing to help him.
About the time that Alec really started to feel the effects of the transferring of energy Alec heard the door swing open and Jace's voice. Thank the angel. There are sounds of movement behind them and soon Clary comes around the other side of the couch. She opens Lukes mouth and pours the potion in. The room stops shaking and Luke stops screaming. At this point he can see Magnus's magic fade away and he stops siphoning strength. Everyone in the room was happy that Luke was recovering but all Alec was worried about is Magnus. Once he had finished the spell Magnus collapses completely into his chest. Alec looks down at Magnus and was about to ask if he was alright just in time to see those brown eyes close as the warlock lost his battle with consciousness.
