Alec wakes up with terrible back pain. The beds at the Institute are not known to be very comfortable but this is just terrible. He jolts awake when his heightened senses tell him that he is being watched. Lurching up off the floor, opening his eyes he see the figure in the Bane. The man had been basically comatose most of the night much less standing.

"Good morning sleeping beauty.""What time is it." Alec asks. "About noon. I haven't been awake myself for long.""How are you feeling? You weren't doing well last night." Magnus gives Alec a smile as he snaps his fingers, bringing his magic to life. " I am fine Alexander. My magic is coming back and I am getting stronger by the minute. A problem a few drinks will fix." Magnus says with a wink.

A smile comes across Alec's face. Magnus had mentioned that last night. He wonders if alcohol ACTUALLY helps replenish Magnus magic faster. "May I ask why you decided to sleep on my bedroom floor. There IS a couch in the living room and plenty of room in the bed next to me." Magnus asked.

"Well the couch still has blood on it from Lukes wounds. I tried to clean that up but it wouldn't come out. I'm sorry about that by the way. About the bed I just didn't want to bother you. You were exhausted. The floor wasn't too bad with the rug." Alec explains but he is a bad liar. Magnus can tell based on his body language that his back was bothering him."You would not have bothered me. It makes me feel like a bad host to have you sleep in the floor." Magnus says. "At least let you get off of the floor now."

Alec things that is a great idea. This position really was starting to bother him. With a hand from Magnus Alec gets off the floor. Once upright Alec gets a better look at the warlock. Overall, Magnus does seem to be back to his normal self. There is still small signs of the exhaustion from the night before in the way that the man is standing but given that last night the man couldn't walk two steps without passing out he thinks that today is a better day.

"Are you hungry? I've made breakfast for both of us. I even made some coffee for you coffee drinkers." "You didn't have to do that. I need to head back to the Institute." "I insist. Everything is already ready and I can't eat all of it on my own." "Fine", Alex says. "Thank you".

Alec follows Magnus back out to the main living area and the smell of bacon hits his nose. He didn't realize just how hungry he was. Magnus must have taken notice because he told Alec to go ahead and have a seat and get himself what he wanted as he heads to the drink cart pouring himself some kind of cocktail. As Alec fixes his plate he looks to Magnus.

"Where is Luke?" "Lucian was already awake when I got up and went to check on him. He has already left stating he had somewhere to be. His wounds seemed to have healed nicely. I'm glad to see that all of that work wasn't for nothing." Magnus says as he sits down and begins to make his plate."Yeah." Alec says with a smirk. Magnus really is something isn't he. He went from being half dead a few hours ago to his normal self.

They sat there in comfortable silence as they ate. It was a nice moment of normalcy and quiet after a crazy night. Alec started to think is that what it would be like to have a family. Not having to worry about responsibilities at the Institute for a while and just being here with the person he loves. He's not even sure if that is something that he is able to have. " So why did you really stay here all night? Most shadowhunters would not have taken a second thought at leaving me and Luke to our devices." Magnus inquires. His eyes stare into his soul. "I just couldn't let myself leave you in that state. You risked your own life for Luke. I felt like you deserved to have someone take care of you." Alec tries to say it matter of factly. That was partly true. A small part of him wanted to get closer to Magnus. Ever since they met that night he saved Magnus' life he wanted to get some alone time with the warlock that caught his attention. He just hoped that the answer was convincing to Magnus. The sexual tension and chemistry between the two is there. Alec is still not ready to completely come out about his sexuality. He's not sure what he wants.

"Uh huh" Magnus says. His face says that he knows that Alec is not telling him the whole truth, but he doesn't comment further. "Well I truly appreciate the concern. I will be alright. See" He snaps his fingers and blue magic dances across his hand, swirling in the air in a beautiful display.

The show was interrupted by Alec getting a text from Jace.

Hey Alec. Are you planning on coming back to the Institute today?

As much as Alec DOES NOT want to leave he knows that he has a duty at the Institute to take care of. He is acting Head of Institute of course. He looks over at Magnus and sees that the warlock is nearly done with his food. Alec's plate already empty.

"That was Jace. He was asking when I am coming back. I better get going." Alec says as he stands up from his seat and goes to put his plate in the sink.

"Of course. Someone of your status is needed. And don't worry about that plate I got that covered." With another snap of his fingers his plate as well as Alec's is washed and put away. "Oh that reminds me. I seen the mess that was left on my couch. Thank you for trying to clean it." He snaps again and Alec can see from where he stands that the stain on the couch is also gone. Alec looks at Magnus looking at any sign of weakness from using the magic. He is satisfied when he sees none."Would you like me to open a portal for you?" Magnus says ready to summon it."No I'm ok to walk. Thank you."Well I'll at least walk you to the door.

The two men walk the length of the room to the door together, stopping just short."Thank you again for helping me last night Alexander. Luke probably would have died if you hadn't gotten here." Magnus said."You did all of the work. I just gave you a little push." Alec says lightly. This made Magnus chuckle."Well maybe next time we meet in my apartment it will be under less dire circumstances.""I would like that"

They both give each other a small smile as Alec opens the door and takes his leave. Both hoping that this is the start of something more.
