Brooke was sitting across from Mr. Drake in the therapist's room, her legs curled under her. 'How you doing today, Brooke?' Mr. Drake asked, looking up from his clipboard.
The brunette glanced at him and shrugged. 'I'm fine,' she said, looking away. She didn't want to be there, but she tried not to show it.
'Alright, let's talk about how you feel,' Drake said, as patient as he could be. Every time they spoke, Brooke just sat there silent, not moving until her time ran out. Brooke swallowed, looking around the room.
'I feel just fine,' she said with a shrug, causing Drake to raise an eyebrow. 'Really? I don't think you are, because you don't say much,' Drake said, not really believing the young teen.
The brunette sighed; she knew she wouldn't be able to stop therapy if she didn't talk, but she felt she was slowly getting better as long as she had Lucas and her friends by her side.
"Sorry, but remembering what happened just makes me want to scream and run. Thankfully, my boyfriend and good friends are always there for me, they're like my rock," Brooke said while getting up. "I don't think I need therapy, Drake, thanks for your time," she added, fiddling with her shirt.
Drake observed her standing up, "Are you sure, Miss. Davis? If this isn't helping, we can switch topics," he suggested.
Brooke shook her head, "No, I'll be fine, thanks. I don't think talking about it will help, and it's not fair to you if I don't even talk," she explained.
Brooke grabbed her bag, gave Drake a small wave, and walked out. Outside, Lucas was waiting for her in the waiting room. She couldn't help but giggle at the confused look on his face.
"Hey pretty girl, why'd you bail early? You still had like 30 minutes left," Lucas wrapped his arms around Brooke as she leaned in to kiss him. "I don't need therapy," she said.
"Don't need therapy? Why?" Lucas asked, to which Brooke replied, "Because it wasn't working. All I need is you and the others to help me through this," she said, giving him a kiss on the cheek.
"Plus, therapy was boring anyways," Brooke said, making Lucas laugh. "They're not supposed to be fun," he said, holding her hand. "I guess we can head back home," he suggested.
"Let's go home and cuddle while we watch a movie," Brooke said with a smile, following him to his jeep. Getting in with his help, she added, "Sounds good to me," as Lucas closed the door behind her.
Lucas hopped on the driver's seat. 'We should make a quick stop at the store for some snacks, and grab another bag of chocolate chips for your mom because someone devoured them all,' Brooke said with a grin, teasing him.
'Yeah, that someone is sitting right beside me,' Lucas joked, getting a playful smack on the shoulder from Brooke.
'You helped me finish them,' she joked back, and Lucas rolled his eyes, saying, 'No way, that was all you, babe.' Brooke laughed as Lucas drove them to a small convenience store, avoiding a big one just for snacks.
Helping Brooke out of the Jeep, Lucas held her hand as they entered the store. 'So, what do you feel like watching?' Lucas asked Brooke as she smiled and pondered for a moment. 'Maybe Rent or Hairspray,' she replied.
Lucas said, 'You do know both of those are like 2 hours long,' knowing that Brooke would either bounce around, fall asleep, or poke him. The brunette rolled her eyes and asked, 'And what's that supposed to mean?' as they walked around the snack aisle.
Lucas laughed at her and said, 'I mean you won't be able to sit that long,' placing a kiss on her head. 'You do one of the three: one, you bounce around; two, you fall asleep; and three, you'll either poke me or even make out,' he said, laughing at the look Brooke was giving him.
Brooke disagreed, saying, 'That is so not true,' as she placed a few bags of chocolate chips in the cart. 'It's not?' Lucas asked with a grin. 'How about we make a bet then?' He suggested, getting Brooke's attention. 'A bet?' She asked, tilting her head.
Lucas nodded as he walked with her to the cashier once they got what they wanted. 'Yes, a bet,' he said with a grin. 'I bet you can't sit still through the movie.' Brooke looked at him. 'I bet I can,' she said with a smirk.
"Then, I bet whoever wins the bet will be the next one to buy lunch or do whatever the other wants," Lucas said as they left the store and got into the Jeep. Brooke looked at him and grinned.
"You're on, Lucas Scott!" she said, her hazel eyes sparkling mischievously. "But I hate to break it to you, I never lose a bet," she said as she buckled up. Lucas leaned forward and kissed her cheek.
"I bet you don't, but we'll just have to see about that, pretty girl," he said. Lucas drove them back to his house, brought the bags inside, and placed one of the chocolate chips in the cupboard while Brooke took the other bag for herself. He walked into his room where Brooke was setting up the movie.
"Mom won't be home for a few days, she went to stay with Andy for a bit," Lucas said as he set down the bags. "Really? So we have the house to ourselves?" Brooke asked with a smile as she inserted Rent into the player and pressed play when it was ready.
Brooke went over to Lucas's bed and got in next to him after he took off his jeans and shirt. She blushed while watching him and he pulled her close by wrapping his arms around her waist.
'You better not try to distract me, Luke,' Brooke said, giving his chest a playful poke.
'I wouldn't do that,' Lucas replied, kissing her cheek. 'Yes, you would,' Brooke said with a pout, knowing he was trying to win the bet but not going to let him.
She stuck her tongue out at Lucas and snuggled into his chest, her hand on his stomach. They lay there watching the movie, both munching on popcorn.
'Did you have to choose a sad movie?' Lucas asked as they watched Rent, knowing Brooke would probably end up crying during it. Brooke looked up and smiled. 'Maybe,' she said, giggling.
