A/N: It took a bit longer than i liked to add this chapter. I'm from the UK and not Australia so I'm relying on google to help me figure out the logistics of the drive north that Sam and Rivers take. I chose to use the website I found that says where the characters ended up after leaving Hartley High and it said Sam and Rivers ended up in Mackay. but I know google isn't 100% reliable so I know I'm going to make mistakes along the way.

Chapter Fourteen: Let's go to Mackay

Rivers POV:

Peter and Sam had been driving for two hours since they first met up for their road trip, they had decided to stop at a small café just outside Sydney. Sam was sat next to him with her head resting on his shoulder and Peter couldn't help smiling at his beautiful girlfriend.

"You're staring again, Peter" Sam said, smiling up at him. He held her face and leaned forward to kiss her.

"Mmm" Sam mumbled. "I love you Peter" She said breathlessly as their kiss ended.

"I can't help staring at you Sam because I'm still amazed that you're here with me" Peter admitted. "I love you so much, Samantha Robinson" Peter added as he kissed her again.

"I'm sorry for what happened Peter, I tried to get over you because I was worried I was ruining your future but I never stopped loving you, Peter" Sam said.

"I know Sam, it's okay. You're here now" Peter said. He loved her too much to dwell on the past.

"I've been thinking about maybe going to Mackay?" Peter said. "It just seems like the perfect place to end up" He added, Sam sat up and placed her arms around Peter's neck.

"That's a great idea, we could take walks along Eungelia national park and go swimming together in blue bluewater Lagoon. I could get a job teaching and you can start your TAFE courses" Sam suggested happily.

"Yeah and I could earn money working part time fixing bikes, so we can save for our perfect house" Peter added. His head started filling up with all these hopes and dreams he had for them and their lives together. He thought about having children with Sam and they'd be the perfect mix of each other.

"We don't need the perfect house, Peter. We could live anywhere as long as I'm with you, I'll be happy" Sam said. Peter slowly edged closer to Sam and their lips met, he could taste the coffee shed been drinking on her lips and he didn't care because he loved every kiss, every hug, every minute he spent with Sam. She was his now and forever, the picture of their future was clear in his mind just as it always had been.

"First things first we need to book a hotel room for the night" Sam said as they broke apart from the kiss. "and then we can start driving tomorrow morning" She added.

Sam's POV:

They had found a hotel a few streets away from the cafe they had been at and booked a double room for the night. The plan was for them to get a few hours of sleep that night and then in the morning, they would drive towards Mackey, only stopping for food and to rest every few hours. Sam was mostly driving her moterbike but they planned to put her motorbike inside his Ute in the morning so they could drive together.

As they entered the room, Peter couldn't take his eyes off of her. Sam's body shivered at the sight of his brown eyes staring at her with passion. Nobody had ever looked at her the way Peter Rivers had always looked at her, especially the way he was looking at her now. As the door closed behind them, he grabbed her around the waist and pulled her into him close. He kissed her gently on her neck and made her feel tingly and sensitive. His lips rested on her own. Peter took off her leather jacket and top at the same time, revealing her white lacy bra. He bit his lip at the sight of her and made her feel fireworks as his fingers caressed her body to undo her bra. All of their clothes were on the floor within minutes and Sam found herself being lifted onto the bed by Peter, his hot breath against her neck as he kissed her down her neck.

Sam didn't want to wait any longer, they hadn't been together like this since the day Andrew had caught them in the Darkroom, she pulled herself up so that she was now straddling Peter. Sam felt that he was already hard and eased herself on top of him, the sound of his grunts made her go faster and as they came together she leaned down to kiss him passionately on the lips.

The next morning Sam woke up and nestled herself into him, his arm draped around her in his sleep and she could feel his heartbeat as she rested against his chest.

"Good morning" Peter said. Sam looked up to see him smiling at her, she hugged him closer to her.

"Morning Peter" Sam said and she lifted herself up so that she was resting on her elbow, she leaned forward to kiss him, their kiss was slow and sweet.

"C'Mon we gotta get up" Sam said, as she pulled away from their kiss.

"Mmm, five more minutes" Peter said, pulling her back towards him.

"Well you are warm" Sam said, hugging him again. He kissed her softly on her forehead.

"I can't get enough of having you here with me, this close" Peter said. Sam gazed at him lovingly.

"I love being here with you too Peter, but eventually we will have to get dressed" Sam said. "Hey, I was thinking on the way to Mackey we could go swimming with the dolphins" Sam suggested, she had remembered Peter mentioning his desire to swim with the dolphins a few months ago, back when she was trying to convince him to stay in school.

"You know me so well" Peter replied with a smile.

"Did you ever have any doubt?" Sam teased him playfully, she was enjoying their banter.

"A couple of times, Yeah but look I knew, deep down I knew" Peter admitted.

"Peter I'm sorry, I hated myself for putting you through all of that" Sam admitted, sadly. Peter took her face in his hands and looked into her eyes.

"I know why we were apart and although it hurt me each day we weren't together, I understand that you had to leave to give us both the chance to get over each other but I believe that the reason we both couldn't was because we were meant to be, I love you Sam Robinson" Peter said.

"I love you too, Peter Rivers" Sam said as she kissed him again, leading to more.
