The Country Troll pulled Sora out of the water. Sora remained unconscious, but unharmed. Branch pulled Poppy out. Biggie crawled out himself, along with the Country Troll. "Mr. Dinkles! Are you okay?" Biggie asked. He gave the worm three compressions with his two pointer fingers before Mr. Dinkles spat out water. "Oh, thank goodness!" Biggie cheered. Mr. Dinkles ewed.
Branch and Poppy lied down on the ground. "You know?" Poppy said, panting. "I'm glad you came with me." Branch looked at her. "Me too," he said, smiling.
The Troll stomped down behind them and shook water off, on Branch. "Welp, that sure was excitin', wasn't it?" he asked.
"We haven't formally met yet," Poppy said, holding out her hand. Donald slapped Sora, starling him. "My name is Queen Poppy! But you can just call me Poppy!"
The Troll shook her hand. "The pleasure's mine, Queen Poppy," he said. "My name's Hickory."
"Hickory?" Branch asked himself.
Goofy and Donald hugged Sora, Donald quacking. "Poppy," Branch tried.
"What are you and your fine group doin' out here?" Hickory asked.
"We're on the way to talk to Barb!" Poppy explained.
"Gumdrop?" Hickory asked.
"Ooh! Yes please!"
"Poppy!" Branch said. "Do you really think-" Poppy ignored him and grabbed a few gumdrops, shoving one in her mouth. "Mm! These are good!"
"There is no time for snacks!" Branch yelled, snatching the gumdrops from Hickory. His Hug Time Bracelet lit up, causing him to look at it with shock, dropping the gumdrops on the ground. "Oop!" Poppy said, looking at her bracelet, with a pink, glowing flower in it. Sora looked at his red flower. "Look!" he exclaimed.
"Hug Time!" Poppy cheered. Biggie walked over to the group, picking up Donald and Goofy as well, and hugged them. Branch shuffled his way out. "This is a bad time for hugging!" he cried. His bracelet opened back up and he slapped it. "Don't mind him," Poppy said. "He's just my acquaintance."
Branch stopped walking. "Uh, what just happened?" Sora asked.
"I jumped from friend to acquaintance," Branch said, heartbroken.
"Oh man," Sora said. "I think Poppy's a little distracted."
Branch and Sora stayed behind Hickory and Poppy. "But, no matter what kind of Troll," Hickory was saying, "Trolls is Trolls." Branch mocked him. "How about a boat?" Hickory asked.
"Oh, yeah, sure," Branch said, sarcastically, crossing his arms. "I bet you can make a boat in time for us to get out of here." Sora tapped Branch's shoulder a few times. "What?" he asked. Sora pointed at the water, to where there is already a wonderfully, sturdy boat, complete with a weaved leaf roof, and a steering wheel. Branch's jaw dropped.
"Who wants some cappuccino?" Hickory asked.
"I do," Branch muttered quietly.
"You know, this guy is almost too good to be true," Sora said. "It almost looks like he's trying to compete against you."
"Please don't say that," Branch said. "I already jumped down from where I want to be. Plus, I already failed talking to Poppy in the village."
"I'm sure a little cappuccino will help you feel better," Sora said, smiling.
"Yeah," Branch muttered, sulking, following Sora to the boat.
The boat was was uneventful, but full of chatter. Sora stayed with Biggie by the fire, occasionally glancing at Hickory. He doesn't know why, but...Hickory feels...wrong. He doesn't want to ask anything weird so he just decided to stay quiet about it, but somehow, Hickory feels off. It's not like he can tell anyone anyway. He can't describe it so no one will believe him anyway, well, maybe except for Branch, but he doesn't want to start any trouble. "Poppy!" Biggie said suddenly, standing. "I've decided! I'm going home!"
"Biggie? Why?" Poppy asked.
"I stuck with you hoping that you could keep our home safe, but...that doesn't look like that's going to happen. If I'm going to be unsafe, at least I'm gonna do it with my friends!"
"Biggie!" Poppy cried.
"It's too late, Poppy!" Biggie said, turning around. "I've made up my mind! Come on, Mr. Dinkles. Let's go home."
"Biggie, how are you going to-" Sora started before Biggie put Mr. Dinkles in the water and hopped on him. "Let's go home!" Biggie said, his back towards the party. Mr. Dinkles started blowing bubbles in the water, propelling them forward. "I guess that's how you'll do it," Sora said, surprised.
"Who knew he could do that?" Goofy asked.
"But he's a worm!" Donald cried.
"Apparently a magic worm," Goofy said.
"I think we shouldn't be surprised at anything that happens here anymore," Sora said. "I mean, a lot of weird things happen."
"I know, but..." Donald said, throwing his arms at the figure of Mr. Dinkles and Biggie in the distance, "he's a worm!"
"He is an impressive worm," Goofy said.
"Why don't we have a water spell, Donald?" Sora asked.
"I don't know!" Donald said. "I don't make the spells! I just learn them and teach you!"
There came bubbles in the water. "Guys?" Poppy asked, next to Branch. "What's that?" She pointed at the bubbling water.
"I don't know, but I don't like it," Branch said, standing in front of Poppy a little, defensively.
A Troll floated out of the water. This Troll is lavender with a blue nose and pink hair, greased back. On his chest is heart shaped chest hair. "Uh..." Sora said, confused and uncertain.
"Perhaps I should give you a little taste of jazz," the Troll said. He licked his reed a few times on his clarinet, then began playing jazz, flower petals floating around him and the party. "What's happening?" Poppy asked, her voice distorted.
"I can't feel my face!" Branch replied, his voice the same way.
The flower petals engulfed Sora's vision until he was standing in the Coliseum. "Congrats, kid!" Phil's voice called, echoing and distorted. "You win the cup!"
"We won the cup?" Goofy asked, distorted as well, but excited.
"Where to next, kid?" Phil asked.
"To adventure!" Sora called.
A realistic white tiger phased through the ground and lifted both Sora and Goofy into the air. They floated to a sunset. "Look!" Goofy said. "Narwhales!"
Sora and Goofy watched as the Narwhales floated past them, cooing. Their trophy turned into an ice cream sundae cup, and two spoons materialized in front of them. "Ice cream!" Sora cheered, handing Goofy a spoon. They both dug their spoons into the trophy.
"Sora, this ice cream is..." Goofy said before his voice trailed off.
"Ugh," Sora moaned. "What happened?"
"Poppy, how'd you like the sushi?" Branch asked, poking Poppy's tongue with a stick before he came to his senses, stared at the stick, then dropped it.
"Once I take you to Barb, the Smooth Jazz Trolls will have their own island and-" the Troll was saying before Hickory kicked him into the water. "What?" the Troll asked. "Why aren't you affected by my...mesmerizing rhythms?" he asked, stroking his chest hair. Sora gagged. Branch rolled his eyes. Poppy looked confused.
"Gumdrops," Hickory said. "Sound proof, and delicious." He stuck his fingers in his ears and pulled out two, large gumdrops, sticking them in his mouth. Sora gagged again.
The Smooth Jazz Troll tried to hypnotize them again, but failed from Donald, who smacked him right across the head and squawked at him when he stayed down. "This isn't the last you'll see of me, Chaz, the Smooth Jazz Troll!" he called, sinking lower in the water.
Donald untied the party. "What just happened?" he asked.
"I...don't want to talk about it," Sora said. Sora shivered.
