...Ooooookaaaaayyy... Been a hot minute since I was last on this one...

For most of the reoccurring readers who are still following my work, this is ANOTHER update. Yeah, I'm pretty sure you're getting tired of it too but somewhat, this will be the last one for a while because I have something to say: I am NOT happy with Menagerie 2...

When I started Menagerie 2, before the revival of Fairy Tail, with the currently ongoing 100 Year Quest anime bringing back the series into the public eye again, I shameless admit I didn't have something for Menagerie 2 that I originally had for Wannabe and (sorta) Menagerie 1: a general plot concept, a "storyline." I had arc ideas but nothing that would connect them together so well as to make the story actually be decent enough to follow along. Or at least, to satisfy the "inner critic" within me.

And as of now, with the huge gap of time since I last posted a chapter for Menagerie 2, it's kinda obvious my heart was not fully into the project. It also didn't help, at the time, I had to filter some really inappropriate reviews that attempted to get posted in the public review section. I won't elaborate on content, but the "reviews" attempting to be posted were extremely BAD and had NOTHING to do with the story. That also killed some of the vibe of writing for this as I hadn't dealt with that on Wannabe or Menagerie 1.

I already mentioned being completely drained and burned out from the summer, which is why neither of my two current works got any sort of posting aside from an update. We're officially out of the summer where I am so I can say, I CAN get back to writing again... But I want to do something first...

As I said at the beginning, I'm not a fan of the work I have done so far on Menagerie 2. I feel like the direction needs to be improved and stuff I wrote could have been done much better, so here's what I am going to do: I am NOT deleting Menagerie 2, I am not going to make a brand-new fanfic and give up on it. What I want to do is delete all the chapters up to the beginning first chapter and REDO things.

This way, all the people following along can still maintain their ability to receive updates to the story without needing to find a new piece and it means redoing some of the pre-existing chapters can lead to me getting them back up quickly throughout the month of September because they're edits on already done work. This will include deleting this update sometime in the near future (give it a week like the Wannabe update had.)

A partial disclaimer: "making changes to pre-existing chapters" doesn't exactly mean I'm completely scrapping what some people liked from them before. This is more like "fine-tuning." If I like the job I'm doing and I'm putting in the effort, I think people will be happy too. But if I am making something I'm not happy with, then what's the point for all of us? I want people to enjoy the stuff I make, and I want to enjoy what I put up. And to that, I need to hunker down and make what I created much better in terms of character, concepts and creativity.

So, 14 chapters to edit... I'll have the free time soon enough. And there will be some differences from what I had already put down on the website by comparison. ONE SIGNIFICANT ONE I THINK WILL DEFINITELY BE NEEDING AN EXPLANATION BUT I DIGRESS... Hey, you might have some fun spotting the changes/additions/subtractions.
