Library (Day)

"Yang Xiao-Long, prepare for annihilation." Sapphire said, eyes glowing blue as he, Weiss, and his older sister sat at a table playing "Remnant: The Game".

"I'll never understand the appeal this game has on you two." Russo commented as he and Ruby played a fighting game on their Scrolls. Ivy was reading a book on botany, and Welter was researching different kinds of Grimm.

"Oh, shut it." Sapphire said to his brother as he started his turn. "I deploy the Atlesian Air Fleet!" he said dramatically, prompting Yang to gasp. "Well, it looks like I get to fly right over your pathetic walls and attack you directly, doesn't it?"

"You fiend!" Yang said, pointing at her brother as he cackled.

"And since Atlas is connected to Mantle, my repair time only lasts a turn. What do you think of that!?" the hydromancer asked rhetorically, forgetting he was in a library. However, he was surprised when Yang started laughing.

"That's all well and good, bro. But you just activated my trap card!" Yang revealed, silencing her brother.

"Can we say that?" Russo asked Ruby, who responded with a shrug.

"Giant Nevermore!" Yang continued, slamming her fist into the table. "If I roll a 7 or higher, Fatal Feathers will tear your fleet in two."

"But if you roll a 6 or lower your Nevermore will turn on you and attack." Sapphire said, trying to prevent his sister from beating him.

"That's a chance I'm willing to take." the blonde said, rolling the die. It ended up landing on an 8.

"NO! My precious, disposable soldiers!" Sapphire cried, his tears creating small ice crystals where they landed. "You will be avenged." he said, tears still staining his face.

"Eh, most of them were probably androids anyway." Yang said, trying to calm the boy down.

"That doesn't excuse your vile actions!" Sapphire said, purposefully being overdramatic. "Ruby, would you mind playing for me? I need to leave for a while." the boy said, walking away from the group.

"What's up with him?" Ivy asked Russo.

"My brother's kind of a sore loser." the blonde answered, going back to his game. "Give him a few minutes and he'll be back to his normal annoying self."

"NO!" Ruby cried, just now realizing the terrible situation her twin had left her in.

"Well...Weiss, your turn." Yang said to the heiress, who just looked at the board in utter confusion.

"I have no idea what we're doing." Weiss admitted.

"Can I play?" Jaune asked as he approached the table.

"Sorry, we already have four players." Ruby said apologetically.

"'Sides, you kinda have the intelligence of an acorn. No offense." Russo said, smiling.

"A lot taken." Jaune deadpanned.

"Don't worry, Vomit Boy. Weiss here attacked her own naval fleet two turns ago!" Yang said, cackling.

Confident, Jaune made a decision he would end up regretting for the rest of his life. "Oh, bring it on Yang!" He challenged Yang Xiao-Long. "I'll have you know that I've been called a natural born leader!"

"By who, your mother?" Weiss mocked.

"And Pyrrha!" the boy retorted, prompting a wave from the redhead in question. "C'mon! At least let me play your hand for a turn. Weiss?"

"I'm not trusting you with the good citizens of Vacuo." the heiress said.

"How is that fair? You've trusted me with way more important stuff before." Jaune defended. "I mean, you told us all that Blake is secretly a fau-" The huntsman-in-training was cut off when suddenly, a hand slapped duct tape on his mouth. Looking to his right, he saw Welter with a look of disappointment on his face.

"Do you just blurt out everything that enters that miserable thing you call a brain?" the Schnee berated, going back to his books. In the corner of his eye, he spotted a familiar looking 'rapscallion'. 'Oh, mother of corn.'

"Hello, Blake, Yang, Ruby, Russo, Ice Queen." Sun greeted as he and a blue-haired boy appeared.

"Why does everyone keep calling me that?" Weiss wondered aloud.

"Do I know you?" Russo asked the monkey Faunus, who looked back at him in confusion.

"Uh, Russo. It's me, Sun. We did a stakeout together." Sun said, trying to make his former ally remember him.

"You're gonna have to be more specific." the boy said flatly, returning to his game.

Dejected, Sun gave up on making Russo remember him. "I don't think I ever got the chance to introduce you to my good friend Neptune." he said, gesturing to the boy beside him.

Neptune raised an eyebrow as he observed Team RWBY and Russo. "Aren't libraries for reading?" he asked.

"Thank you!" Welter, Ivy, and Ren said at the same time.

"Shut up, nerd." Sun told his partner.

"Intellectual." Neptune retorted. It was obvious that the two had done this many times in the past.

"So, Neptune, where are you from?" Weiss asked, strangely interested in the newcomer.

"I'm from Haven." he said as he walked over to her. "I don't believe I've caught your name, Snow Angel."

"I'm Weiss." the heiress introduced as her brother's eyes started glowing green.

'Not on my watch.' Welter thought as Sun walked over to Blake.

"I never took you for the board game playing type. Can I join?" the male faunus asked.

"Yeah, I'm not. You can take my hand. See you later." Blake mumbled as she left. Everyone in the room stared at her as she exited, not having much to say about it.

"Women." Nora commented.
